Nice review, Ive been think of getting a pocket pen to be my edc with my pocket notebook.
Suggestion for purple ink: Diamine Dawson, Plantinum Lavender Black and Pelikan 4001 purple.
Kaweco nibs are hit or miss. I've had several that were absolute crap. I lucked out with my brass sport and got a decent nib on that one and I much prefer the brass to the cheap feeling plastic.
I have two Kaweco Sport pens, one fountain (bold) and ball in metal. Love them both for EDC
Totally agree with you regarding Kaweco clip. I have a stone-washed Kaweco AL sport and it totally scratched it side. That one wasxmy first kaweco FP. That was 10+ years ago. Scroll back to now, I have about 8 Kaweco sport FPs. My current favorite is the Kaweco Steel Sport. It has a good weight to it which I like.
Thank you for watching! I really need to try the metal ones.
@@BeastMadeReviews The steel is the most heaviest. I also had the brass one and the a couple of the AL Sports. The Steel is now my preferred FP to EDC.
I have a sport classic black medium nib with a converter, Diamine Celadon Cat ink and I absolutely love it!! Such a joy to write with. I have smaller hands so believe it or not I use it unposted.
I need to get Celadon Cat! It's on my wish list. But yes, great pen indeed!
I love this pen, it’s my first and so far only Kaweco fountain pen. I converted mine into an eye dropper and it’s just perfect I take it with me wherever I go and the nib never skips on me, very reliable. And I don’t think that it feels cheap… granted, no one is going to mistake it for a high end pen, but it doesn’t feel poor quality. In fact, the TWSBI Swipe which was $10 more feels way cheaper than this. So yeah, I definitely recommend this pen.
Thank you so much for sharing. Would you please share a link to an international converter? I am new to fountain pens and not familiar with them. Thank you 🙏
This pen can only use a certain type of mini converter because of the pen's size:
amzn.to/3JQTl7P
But other pens that use a Standard International Converter (and also the cartridge) would use this: amzn.to/3UA99k7
@@BeastMadeReviews thank you so much! For some reason I misunderstood as I thought you mentioned you could use an international converter for this pen. I understand now. Thank you again 🙏
Just bought one yesterday!
Hope you enjoy it!
Question is, do you want to make Goldspot some money by buying it at a premium price for the color? I am no rush in buying one, have the macchiato & toyama models, and works well for me. Translucent Kaweco looks good out the box, once scratches show up over time, it's a different matter altogether.
Comparing the price of this to a regular Kaweco Sport, it was pretty comparable. If it was more, it was a negligible amount
I've had several Kawecos and one thing not mentioned, I've noticed they tend to run on the drier side.
this is the only one I've tried, so I couldn't speak to a certain trend. Some others mentioned that their nibs varied a lot. I will say, my nib was great, and the ink flow was great. Maybe I was lucky
I have both one of these kaweco sport and a Lamy safari (which is probably one of its main competitors) I personally prefer the writing feel of the kaweco, tho design wise I prefer Lamys bauhaus looks
Even though I personally am a sucker of Kaweco Sport almost ever since I setting foot into FP world, their separately available accessories just eat me up. The converter piston is flimsy, the clip is always faulty cast by corner and/or on one of the sides. (I never have sliding problem with the clip though, dont even have to tighten the gap for better hold)
I never get a similar writing experience from their nibs. Well, and talk about the feed...
Kaweco is the one makes me questioning about the "German Quality".
I love my Brass Sport.
It’s GERMAN!! These are great fountain pens at a great price. I’ve been collecting SPORTS for years.
To me, a matte lamy safari feels great for the price.
But the kaweco sport feels cheap to me. And has low tolerances it seems. Slight play in cap when screwed on. The clip design is lacking, etc.
I see them as overpriced 15 or 20 dollar pens. The metal ones are another story.
Quality on the nibs is very hit and miss. You can get a good one but there are many examples on internet of really bad ones. Esp the ef and f are error prone. I've even seen some where the tines have not been split! Ink distribution is also pretty bad. Beautiful design (esp the brass) but inconsistent to say the least.
The dark purple is out of stock 😢
The W is pronounced as a V
KAvECO
yes, in German. But I'm not speaking German to a German audience. That would be like correcting someone pronouncing my name "DahVEED" when they are speaking Spanish to a Spanish-speaking audience.
@@BeastMadeReviews Then, you missed an opportunity to educate. I’m new to the fountain pen hobby and clicked on your video
@@iamfilipinas an English speaker doesn't need to pronounce it in German. That's standard pronunciation. Now you've been educated.

😁😁
I've started to collect German pens and sorry, the Kaweco was a waste of money.
Too short! I guess I am not the market for pocket pens. I recommend it for children, young ones only. Even high schoolers should get a Lamy Safari/Pelican Twist and save money too.
5.2" posted? Lamy Safari is 6.5" posted, a Pelican Twist is 5.9" posted.
I am an adult man with man hands. I can use it vertically, but I prefer a lower angle of writing.
Worst than the short length is the thread. There is a thread near the tip to hold the cap on. The sharp threads hurt my middle finger knuckle, I think I hold it in a standard way. And if I hold it back farther, the edge of the posted cap also has a sharp plastic thread.
Lastly the tip of mine is kind of scratchy, definitely not smooth, and dries out in 5 minutes.
its kaweco not koweco 😂
That’s what I’m saying
It's pronounced "Kaveco".
In German, yes. Not in English.
