- What can you grow in the high desert of New Mexico? Lots of things.
While it can be a bit challenging it is not impossible to produce lots of food.
See whats growing here at Southwest Homestead
You have your hands full. A lot of varieties. When the rains hit, and they will soon, looks like a bumper crop in the making 🤠
The rains began the night before last with a vengeance, property flooded, road washed out roofs blowing off my animals housing and skirting off the side of mobile home. When it rains …. But happy for it anyway. Hopeful that I’ll have a bounty of tomato’s this year to can. As always thank you for your encouragement.
Chào bạn ,khu vườn của bạn được thiết kế bày trí rất đẹp ,cây trồng phát triển rất tốt ,bạn rất khéo chăm sóc ,cảm ơn bạn đã chia sẻ kinh nghiệm làm vườn với mọi người cùng nhau học hỏi 🤝.
So nice to have a visitor to my channel from around the world. Love your beautiful channel.
Wow! So much growing! It looks great! I like how you did your shade cloth on the arches. Good idea! Let's hope the heat subsides for a bit to give the crops a break.
There is a YTuber I follow who grows onions in her cement clock holes. Maybe you can try that next year? You have lots of cement hole. Lol! Keep up the good work.
I like the shade cloth on the arch but it needs a bit more. I ordered another one the same size to extend it. I’m hoping to cover the arch in plastic to make a mini high tunnel for growing in winter. I keep planning to fill in the holes and plant in them, I just never have enough soil to spare but one day. Thanks for visiting my little spot in the desert, you can certainly understand the challenges this climate presents.
Hi! New subscriber! 🎉 I came over from MyMosernHomestead! Lovely garden!
I have been so busy I did not see this comment until today. Thank you so much for visiting ! It’s always so nice to get feedback .
Looking great!
You have many things I’ve not grown. Asparagus, DILL!
(Why can’t I grow dill?). Trying again this year! I have some that’s 3/4” tall so far, 😅
I found you when you commented on my channel about monetizing our off grid Homestead channel. I also am an RN, our names are similar, and it looks like we enjoy similar things like gardening and canning. If you tell me, you have three boys and a husband who runs his own tree business then I’m really gonna think we have more in common than ever!
Best of wishes. I subscribed and accidentally subbed with my husband’s account, so that’s 2 more for you!
So happy to meet you ! I really appreciate you subscribing times 2😊. I have three children but two boys and a girl. They are grown adults now. My husband is retired and we have a blended family of seven children all adults and 13 grandchildren. I really started the channel to teach any of our children or grandchildren who might want to learn about canning, gardening, cooking from scratch, building a pantry, raising animals. But first I have to learn to make videos. I’m doing it on my phone with very little equipment too. It’s been fun to learn something so new to me. I really hope to retire in two years and then I will finally get to do all these things that I love full time.
I really admire your off grid adventure I would love to add solar here. We built our homestead from raw land as well but we did bring in electricity and a mobile home but have to haul water. We also would like to set up rain water collection but rain is sparse here in the high desert. We haul water from town 13 miles away. Not ideal . I will following your journey and rooting for you to reach your monetization goal.
@@southwesthomestead1234 ugh. We hauled water for awhile too, then set up rainwater catchment. That was actually working well until til a tree fell down and took out our system plus two vehicles.
@@RidgeHavenHomestead ouch that’s a huge hit.
Beautiful tour 😊❤
Thank you for visiting ! I just subscribed to your channel what a lovely garden you have . Nice to meet you🌻
@southwesthomestead1234 thank you so much for the support ❤️ 💜
