I have seen the light and am now the very happy owner of a 2019 Tmax 530. No extras as yet but will be sorting out some touring gear in the spring. Of all the bikes I have owned in the last fifty years. on;y the Yamaha FJR competes with the Tmax. Thanks for the great video. Ride safe!

Fantastic! Thank you for taking the time to put this together and sharing it. I have the X-Max but hope to have the "T" someday.

      Thank you Andrew!
Since editing is not necessarily one of my hobbies, the videos are a bit simpler, but give me the effort to show everything as best I can. I would love an X-Max next to the T-Max in the garage, they are perfect scooters. Best regards!

Loved your video! We own a 2001 T-max and loved touring on it. We are contemplating buying a 2023 model, and selling the Honda VFR1200 motorcycle that I thought we needed! I like that have included many of the modifications you made as stock now. And we didn't add side panniers to our T-max, but tank bag! Excellent!

I find myself in your comment... I thought I needed a KTM SD 1290 GT to travel, but that's not the case at all. We are much more comfortable than with any motorcycle and I stand by that. I've been riding all kinds of bikes for over 40 years and have never owned a car. I think the swap you're planning to make is great and makes sense. In times when you can't race any more, any motorcycle is unnecessary. Our Max now has over 60K km on board and we are slowly looking for another one. I converted it because we go on a lot of long trips. Thank you very much for your comment!!

I had 2 currently riding 2015 Honda Goldwing Valkyrie,( many other big bikes owned before ) but I must say , thinking of buying a Tmax again they are so practical and fast.

      Hi Richard
..I can only agree, after about 40 years of riding motorcycles of all kinds, I came across the Tmax in 2015 and immediately fell in love with it. At that time I still had the KTM 1290 and the scooter was intended as a second vehicle, shopping and riding to work ... It didn't take long and we rode the Tmax a very long distance of almost 4000 km as a test. It's not exaggerated, it was more fun than whatever bike i had, especially because we are 2 up, could take a lot of luggage with us, were protected from the weather, didn't have to change gears all the time and so on.. It's not really slower than a middle-class bike, but given the traffic conditions today it doesn't matter because we never go faster than 130 km/h on tours and don't want to. He manages almost 170 km/h alone and without luggage but as I said it is unimportant.😊 Thank you!!

@@reubensinclair1530 I don't have a part number and I don't remember where I found the 2017. As far as I know it was somewhere in Italy but sorry I forgot where it was. The racks didn't fit well either, I had to drill two holes in the rear rack, but they've been really tight for 50K km. Sorry again! .. what i remember is that it was damn hard to find accessories for the Tmax also because they are changed from year to year.😔

Wow! It’s really rare to hear that someone swapped motorcycle to maxi for touring. Especially KTM! Let me guess your main issues for KTM - lack of luggage space and not comfortable riding position for you and your wife? Or there was something else?
You did nice upgrades for touring, there are not much left! Only LEDs on fork maybe and Airhawk cushion for a butt 😃, but all necessary stuff is in place. I wonder do you feel enough power to run highways comparing to KTM? Mine Burgman can run 130 but I don’t feel comfortable. Also on a bad roads small wheels is an issue but I believe it’s not a problem in a place where you live and ride 😉
I can feel how you enjoy not having manual gearbox on T-Max on Romanian mountain twistiest 🤪

    • @ourTmaxTravELs
      @ourTmaxTravELs 2 года назад +1

None of that.. the KTM was a GT with all the comforts including heated seats, panniers and so on.. the reason was that it hadn't been moved for a very long time.
We only rode the KTM on vacation once or twice a year and it was too expensive for that..
The Tmax is about 160 km/h, but we don't ride that fast and on bad roads we ride slowly.
Oddly enough, I don't feel the shifting and the constant clutching.
      Best Regards!!

@@ourTmaxTravELs heh, that’s my case. Want Moto Guzzi V85TT for travelling, but understand that Burgman I ride 99% of the time, so buying a motorcycle for 1-2 trips a year is totally not worth it

No, I don't have a throttle lock (cruise control) but if I buy the newer Tmax at some point, it will have a full set of features.
