- We initially intended to check out the Red Bull King of the Air comp, but with the large swell we rather missioned to spots that usually don't have a wave.

Many yrs ago I surfed in the harbour. Climbed down the dolosse to get to water. Worked on a big swell at low tide only. Was absolutely a brilliant place when conditions were good. Great barrels, I seem to remember, amongst the dolphins. I think it is closed off last couple of yrs. The Sea Point shots look a bit like Thermopolye, Moullie Point. Also only worked under certain conditions. Big swell.
haha yeah Jonno!
Balls of steel surfing a black bird in Cape Town shark city
isn't surfing the Wedge impossible these days with port control?
Not sure, haven't been back :(
Yep , closed off, quite a number of years ago. Check my other post at beginning of thread to read about it.
@@roybean7166 recommend any spots there for someone just starting out and going to CT soon? Thank✌🏼
@@miffedswift before I give you advice, would like to know, are you a beginner surfer, or experienced surfer. Also where you coming from, overseas or South Africa ? Will you have transport in Cape Town ? Which part of town are you staying at. All this I need to know, as Cape Town is situated on a peninsula. Some surf spots are close to the city, others are a distance away , maybe 30 odd kilometres, and no , or bad public transport to get to them. Also there are easy waves to surf , and some spots can be quite big at times. If I know all, although I have not surfed for many yrs, I will hopefully be able to advise you. Generally the Cape is a great place to surf, with many spots.
@@roybean7166 between the two i would say beginner, getting up 60% of the time, working on consistency. Looking at Muizenberg? Going around mid April from the UK. Awesome reply! Appreciate it.
