Don't always agree with Stephen A but on this one he's 1000% on point ! His clear and concise breakdown makes the case against the pampered grossly overpaid spoiled divas in the NBA.. How can you run out on a team that gave you everything you asked for.. a team that you were for all intents and purposes the assistant GM and then at the first sign of adversity you ready to jump ship KD ? What leverage does KD have? The owner publicly stated he supports the GM & Head Coach. KD signed a 4 year deal that kicks in this year. KD has no leverage, he’s either going to play or sit out until the right trade comes around. Either way KD is screwed because he reputation and credibility is at an all time low. He has no power whatsoever and the Nets will make an example out of him on behalf of themselves and the rest of the league because this “player empowerment” era has gotten out of control. Contracts must be honored and whoever brings up the “owners trade player” argument can kick rocks, your manager can fire you from your job if you don’t perform.
A superstar player has all leverage they have the ability to absolutely tank your franchise. You bring that toxicity into your locker room guess what it now bleeds into your locker room the players have to keep answering questions about him. Team chemistry is trash because teammates now feel like they ain’t good enough or dude think he can’t win with us. Keeping someone like him where he don’t wanna be is literally seeing poison go into your arm and instead of cutting it off you allow it to spread because you don’t wanna lose your arm

And I can almost guarantee that there’s gonna be a lockout because these players won’t have it. The thing is these owners can wait out the players because a lot of players are not financially stable without that check coming in constantly.

We can dispute him becoming a top 7-10 player, though, if he doesn't close out his career right. Dude is jeopardizing a lot for pride and nothing else. I'll always watch him play but I can't root for him until there's some closure and that's on him.

This is a case of KD making his own bed and now having to sleep in it. The Nets acquiesced to KD and Kyrie’s demands and did not get their return on investment when it came to the coach, and Harden trade. Now it’s a sh*t show in Brooklyn and KD wants to cut bait and run from a problem that he helped create.
I’m not sure what power Swagu thinks KD has, he’s not Lebron, he’s not Steph, he’s not a young superstar on his way up to just demand a trade and think he’ll get it when it’s obvious the market isn’t there for a 34yr old with his history with injuries and the intricate nature of a trade with Brooklyn given the pieces needed to facilitate a trade for him.
