    I bought this knife and i love that even though its a combat knife it is also very good at general utility. Its easy to get very sharp and has great edge retention

    When I think of a fighting knife, I think of the countless ways one can lose his/her fingers or even a hand. So it makes sense to me to have protection over those precious digits so one can still scratch an itch or flick a booger right?! Great video man and my hats off to TOPS and "Snake Blocker" for a really good design.

    Cool looking knife and very sharp. As for batoning, I have batoned enough and seen so many videos on batoning that I know this knife would have no problem going through wood. Even a butter knife will baton through tough wood. I hope I never get into a knife fight, but for military use it will work well. Thanks!

    Duel purpose for certain, but not as great a balance as in Desert Nomad. Snake Blocker had reasons for 1/4" stock. Its just great having access to different design philosophy results from a maker or company with a reputation to build and guard

    Nice review bro. It's good to see what's considered to be a combat knife used as a jack of all trades. Because as we all know, the primary function of a knife is to cut. This knife looks like something that is easily carry-able, so it could be a primary carry for someone who chooses not to carry a firearm or where that firearm carry is prohibited. Good for defense/offense, and you could survive with it in general if needed.

    Say Heah John, I wonder if Top's has a Custom Shop. The reason being is I didn't like the Rodent 6. It too was a Military TactiKewl Knife. But a guy on Blade Forum had the Top Guard taken off. So I had mine thinned down also. Now it looks like a Ratmandu on steroids. Infact it's now one of my Fav's. It's definitely a slicer now too. Great for the bush. I use to team it with my Mora 510 as my Neck knife with it. But now I'm using my Mora Forest Exclusive #277 a Hand Made Laminated Blade with Hardwood Handle and Brass Hardware. It also comes in a Beautiful Leather Sheath. But as far as the Rocky Mountain Tread, I like them. Thanx John for a good review.,,.p

Its not a place where I say "that's not my job". The blades and handles are done in a different building. In my building we do sheaths, assembly, sharpening and shipping... Also coatings & finishes on blades. My favorite so far is Tex Creek 20th anniversary edition. But Im crazy about so many of them! Lite trekker, Paysaten lite- Traveller, Baja 3.0 and Dragonfly 4.5. I only have one tops knife wich is the C.A.T for edc. My favorite tops are apache falcon, silent hero and the brakimo. • @ssunfish
      @ssunfish 5 лет назад

      @@sergiotheg13 the C.A.T. knife has ALOT of variations. What is yours like? I love that the Backpackers Bowie handle feels like the C.A.T. knife! I have the same problem: deciding which is next bec several are equally as brilliant. I had a theory that the designer had the same hand size as me cause the designs feel great. I had a chance to find out for fact! I was right! I hope I can move to blades, but they love my work now.

    It looks like nice knife it feathers and cuts well. I am not a knife fighter but I'm looking at the knife and on the blade is a place for your finger which I guess helps with the cut of wood, meat, so on and so on. I was thinking that why a fighting knife have a place for your finger ? I was thinking the blade be all blade from tip to handle ? Just a question so I guess it has more than one usage ? And My grandfather done the same with me foot or a stick.

But honestly the way things are now a days there are thousands and thousands of really badass knives out there in the time we live in and I think for a lot of people especially the ones with big knife collections that’s it’s hard to become very good with one knife when you have 50 lol

    We all know one thing very salient about fighting with knives: " No one wins in a knife fight" plus of course don't bring a knife to a gun fight. Some experts say run towards a gun and from a knife. I'd just kiss my ass good bye in either scenario knowing what I know now

    Whoever uses a knife out of the box, without establishing a proper edge to also get rid of the "Burnt" steel, then he doesn't deserve to use that knife. It's like driving a car, without adding oil in the engine and proper gasoline, and in the same time don't know how to drive a car too. That's goes to any user, and not to Wingman, who has his reasons. The user though, doens't have an excuse.
