I just ran across your video researching for our trip to Mexico in November. Thank you for the great food ideas! I loved your thorough explanations of what you were eating. I also adored the mini-interviews you did with the women in the market. Thank you so much!

@@VoyageoftheSantaMarias We’ll be in Guatemala City for 3 nights, San Pedro for 6, Chichicastenango for 1 night, and Antigua for 7 before a final overnight in GUA before we fly back. We’re doing a Spanish Language School in San Pedro.

That sounds great! You’ll love it at San Pedro and the lake in general. You may even wish you could spend more time there!

I am from Guatemala and, until recently would have told you that pupusas are from El Salvador. Recently, a Salvadorean corrected me and told me that actually the first pupusas came from Guatemala. I have not been able to verify this. What I can say with honesty (as a Guatemalan) is that even if it is true that the first pupusas came from Guatemala, it is absolutely evident that the ones that made them popular and evolved them to the wonder we have today are our friends from El Salvador.

The tortillas are corn only, are made by hands, the difference in Mexico thay make by machine.
