My wife and I returned last June to Manuel Antonio, our first time back in over 50 years. Back then (the early 70s) Quepos was a dusty little town, and we had to hike along a dirt road to the Manuel Antonio beaches. Unlike now, with the many hotels and restaurants, there was essentially nothing along the way but nature. I fell in love with the place and visited MA several times (and even showed it off to my parents when they came to visit me in San José). During weekdays my fellow students and I pretty much had the beach to ourselves, with only a couple dozen people there during weekends. For accommodations, one just pitched a tent on the beach. We don’t remember seeing monkeys then…they must have moved closer to the beach attracted by tourist goodies. I’m heartened to see the protection given to the park and beaches, and also that so many people can now make a living serving the tourists in this lovely place. Thank you for the video!

Wow, this video really captured the essence of Manuel Antonio National Park! It's amazing to see how such a small park can pack so much biodiversity. I can definitely see why it's the most popular park in Costa Rica. The incredible wildlife and stunning scenery showcased in this video make me want to visit this magical place as soon as possible. It's fascinating to think about all the species coexisting in this compact habitat. Thanks for sharing this gem with us!
I think it's great that you guys show the more budgets places to stay as well as the not so budget onces. When you're on a short travel, the budget might just be less of a problem. You really go to see a lot of animals in all kinds of crazy colors! I love it! Going to the beach and getting into the water is always. Jumping of a rock is not for me anymore! 😉
Fun fact. I am 49. I used to come to Manuel Antonio every year with my parents. There were only 3 places to stay, including the Hotel Manuel Antonio which is the closest one to the park entrance. You could go into the park and see 2or 3 families at the most.

Here in Florida, we grow the pineapples in our backyards. Just cut off the top and put it in the ground. They do just as well growing in a pot! The pineapples don't get as big as the one you got the top from, but they are every bit as sweet! Costa Rica is such a beautiful country and the people are friendly. They are so into conservation, which is really nice to see. I went with a tour and to commemorate our tour we all planted a special tree to attract one of the birds they don't too often see. This was a nice video, and I cannot wait to get back there! Pura vida!

Yes! This takes me back. Had myself an epic day back in 2019. Digging the Airbnb, love that it's surrounded by the forest. Didn't explore the town too much though. Just passing through to the park and late lunch at a restaurant just outside the park. Oh yes CR Fried Chicken!! I'm drooling and missing it so much. That marina looks amazing. Holy Tuna Burger! Oh the memories are flooding back. That is one of the best natural parks I've ever been to. The sloths, the Monkees and all the animals you see. Wish I had done an animal tour while I was there. *Sniff* I'm emotional watching the beach scenes. I had such an amazing time there and it brings me back to a time before covid. My original CR trip was actually less than a year before Covid hit. Espadila Sur is a bit more picturesque with that large rock out there.

I didn't know that about the sunrise and sunset there. The scenery is stunning and seems so refreshing to go for a dip there. I'm not a big fan of fish but the food looked pretty good. The national park seemed amazing, I definitely want to go there one day!
We honeymooned in Quepos and it was relaxing and chill but not touristy at all. Still had plenty of options for activities so was never bored. We had the fried chicken delivered to our AirbnB and ate it on the palapa overlooking the water during a deluge. Damn that was fun. MA was the first activity we did and it did not disappoint, getting a guide is a must to see all the wildlife.

We feel as if we are in a similar travelers' demographic as you and are in a fun discussion whether Costa Rica is economically feasible. Hi you two!! Oh how wonderful! We loved Peru and Ecuador! We haven’t been there in probably 7-8 years now but wow just amazing places! Yes, Costa Rica is quite expensive compared to neighboring countries. For us the star ⭐️ was the nature! It’s what you pay that premium for.

I told them that I would love to go there, but that it always seemed cost prohibitive. They assured us that it is totally do-able, but just be smart (just like everywhere). What a beautiful country! So random question: I never hear anything on travel to Paraguay or Uruguay? Do you ever have plans to go? Just curious - do they not have much going on? Or political unrest? We feel as if we are in a similar travelers' demographic as you and are in a fun discussion whether Costa Rica is economically feasible. It seems as if it is all that we love on the peripatetic path, eg. nature, hiking, surfing, insanely delicious coffee, yummy eats, sweet folks, et al... , but the prices seem a bit jolting. Hi you two!! Oh how wonderful! We loved Peru and Ecuador! We haven’t been there in probably 7-8 years now but wow just amazing places! Yes, Costa Rica is quite expensive compared to neighboring countries. For us the star ⭐️ was the nature! It’s what you pay that premium for.
@@TheCountryCollectors We have an Airbnb and just had two Incredible Guests from Sweden (I turned them on to you guys and your Acatenango video which they loved! Connections everywhere!). I told them that I would love to go there, but that it always seemed cost prohibitive. They assured us that it is totally do-able, but just be smart (just like everywhere). Ok, so we are totally going to Costa Rica ( just maybe for not too long)! Thanks for the positive feedback!

Alonso was amazing!! Haha yes they have a lot of poo on them. I think if you ingest them that can cause harm. I don’t know about those other ones.

What a beautiful country! So random question: I never hear anything on travel to Paraguay or Uruguay? Do you ever have plans to go? Just curious - do they not have much going on? Or political unrest? Or are there wonderful places there to see that no one really talks about? I have no idea on how the cities/towns look like or the topography or anything.
