Nice Fish kid. You’ll never forget your first striper but especially that one some of us fish for years & still haven’t caught one that big. Good job dad for helping fight the fish too well done!
Wow nice catch congrats!,I've been fishing striped bass all summer here in northern n.b Canada (campbellton) restigouche river. Never nailed a big one like that yet but caught quite a few . Fish on✌️ great videos
Thanks. I fished Acadia a few years ago but I didn’t get up there this year like I wanted to but the fishing has been getting better every year up and down the coast
@@MainelyFishing1 It has definitely been a lot better the past few years! That’s for sure. Keep up with the videos! It’s cool seeing local guys fishing similar areas to know what’s hitting for the fish and what isn’t! Great work!
Looks like with the gear you were using, you all did perfect, taking the time and using the drag, s cored you a great fish!! Congrats to you and your boys!!👍
Thanks. Go figure this fish hit the worst setup we had out that day made for quite the fight. But experience and patience let us land that fish proud dad moment for sure.
Wow what a fish…Must have been a rush.GREAT JOB! This is my first year striper fishing I’m trying to learn as much as I can so if you don’t mind me asking what you use: rod, reel, line, tackle etc TIA
Thanks For Watching. Happy to help! My newest Combo is: -Okuma Sentara Surf Combo, 10'0"_Heavy. I have 200-250 yards of Power Pro 50lb Braid then a Uni 2 Uni Knot connecting 25-50 yards of Stren 30lb Mono 2 a Heavy Duty Barrel Swivel. Below are the two most common rigs I use Surf Fishing. Fish Finder Rig: 50lb Fluorocarbon Leader, glass beads, Slide Sinker W/ 2-3oz Pyramid Weight & a 6/0-8/0 Circle Hook. Hi-Lo Rig: Tie Mono Directly to Barrel Swivel that it comes with.
That fish is unfortunately definitely dead. The fish being out of the water for 1-2 minutes is the same as someone dunking your head under water for 1-2 minutes. Keep the fish wet and in the water. Proper C and R is what is going to help restore the fishery to what it was.
This fish recovered in the water multiplie times during the length of that clip to ensure a healthy recovery and I take it really seriously when I lose fish without the intent to take one home. I agree with you fully about C&R and the fishing this year has been amazing
Nice fish

Hey bud can you give me some locations to fish. I’m in gray and looking to get into surf fishing.

I don’t even like having them out 15 seconds I definitely will keep trying to get better at my C&R though thanks for the tips
