    In interesting effect: the white 'stripe' on the IL2's rudder, when viewed against the clouds or the white buildings on the ground gave me the impression that the white section had 'disappeared'; I imagine if the whole plane was the right shade of white, under the right conditions it would nearly impossible to see.

    1:14 i see no fat bar like in ALL so called Simulator planes which we spend a lot of money !!
    Even DCS 190D9 is completely wrong in that....they all use OLD 3D model from IL2 it seems.

    • @murtsman1
      @murtsman1 7 лет назад +7

      The reason why the bar doesn't show has to do with the armored glass. It refracts light in a way that is very different from a normal windscreen. For a simulator to fix this would be a strong undertaking to model a sort of light physics through glass.

    • @kubanskiloewe
      @kubanskiloewe 7 лет назад +5

      Instead of that it´s way easier to cut out the idiotic bar or set the gunsight higher so we have the real view outside of a 190 cabin !

    • @murtsman1
      @murtsman1 7 лет назад +3

      It's harder than you think, in a game world most of what you see is done with 3d modeling. If they wanted to implement this effect they would have to make a custom view port for the FW, and if the technology isn't there then it can be a pain.

    • @iRichardi
      @iRichardi 5 лет назад +3

      Murtsman1 what physics modeling are you talking about? Head movement in cockpit is so restricted that in real Fw190 you never see the thick frame... it’s doesn’t fit with post war narrative how bad the view from German planes was - I’m old enough to remember Oleg Maddox’s response to this issue raised years ago by IL-2 fans. Current Sturmovik series only continues in this idiotic trend

    • @kubanskiloewe
      @kubanskiloewe 4 года назад +2

      @@iRichardi 100%.....same goes with the upper bar from the armored glass in the 109 ! This bar was in real angled so that it hinders minimal the view when looking straight ! Now sit in a IL2 or DCS 109 and look direct in a fat upper bar which every designer immediately would fix or the Pilots would have killed this idiot !

    i got some questions.
    is this a real job?
    is it easy to fly these planes?
    also if i'd get a "plane licence" would i be able to fly these types of planes like it is shown in the video
    it would be nice if you'd reply to this.

    • @louissteven8862
      @louissteven8862 3 года назад +1

      On phone -- 1: these planes have a special kind of landing gear making landing and ground ops a bit harder (taildraggers). 2: maybe, as they are piston planes but they are extremely expensive planes.

    • @FiveCentsPlease
      @FiveCentsPlease 3 года назад

      + Raccoon Hard questions to answer in a few sentences. If you get your pilot license, you will need to work your way up through experience on different aircraft. These high performance aircraft are killers to inexperienced pilots. Remember that in the 1950s and 1960s these old planes were cheap and they killed a lot of people who only had a few hundred hours of Cessna time. If you get the experience, Stallion 51 in Florida offers a structured flight program to get type rated on the P-51. You would need to get basic pilot training and move on the intermediate aircraft, tail dragger, radial engine, etc to have good experience.

    • @louissteven8862

      @@FiveCentsPlease p51? Wtf?

    • @FiveCentsPlease
      @FiveCentsPlease 3 года назад +1

      @@louissteven8862 The P-51 has more surviving airworthy examples than any other warbird. It also has had many losses after WW2, many from wealthy individuals who purchased one with little experience in high performance aircraft. This continued into 1980s. Stallion 51 in Florida was started both to offer experience flights to the public but they also have a training and transition program for prospective owners to get training and type rating on the P-51. (Taking a look at their website, it also looks like they have expanded the training program to include the AT-6 and L-39, which is great. T-6 time is next step before trying fighters.) I think Stallion 51 has been successful. I don' think there has been any other organized program for warbird training. Now that Hanger10 in Germany owns the only two-seat Bf-109G-12 I think they are using it to train pilots for the Bf-109 survivors. Regarding the rare original Fw-190 at the Flying Heritage Museum I think there are very few pilots that have flown it- Steve Hinton, Kevin Eldridge and maybe a few more. I think Hinton prepared for the Fw-190 by flying one of the Flugwerk replica examples. Hinton was also getting time in one of the new-build Me-262s to prepare to test fly Flying Heritage's new original Me-262. Getting back to the original question, many of these aircraft collections today are owned by non-pilots and they pay pilots to fly their examples. Nice gig, but they are picky about who they let fly them.

      So you support the revision of history? This is a weapon used by a ruthless and cruel regime. Although the plane itself is a stunning example of engineering, trying to pretend it isn't what it was created and used for is turning a blind eye to an event that at least fifty million people died in. Preserve history. Don't modify it.

      That's entirely incorrect, modifying existing war artefacts is actually illegal in Germany. Falls under law created to prevent historical revision. However it should stay where it was restored. FHC has the means to maintain and fly it, not many other locations do.
