Wow, that 18 mm maching is easier than finding 86 and newer hubs for like 800-1000 USD, I am already running the mercedes axle nuts...excited...think I want to do this on my 85 T3... EPYTEC does not ship to USA or Canada.
Is there a problem with the stock steelies? I am looking for better brakes made up of available parts because of TDI swap and upgraded gearbox but I don't want to run alloys since my bus is ex-military and I want to preserve the look.
Hi there. Here is the email from Brickwerks. Brake hose x2. End 1 - M10x1.0 Female as per VW T3. End 2 - M10x1.0 Male as per Sharan. Length of hose measured from tip to tip, end to end, the total length 480mm. Abrasion resistance as per T3 hoses, 2 pieces, one long for the chassis mounting, one short for the centre. *please note that the Sharan end is 45mm long from where the hose enter to the tip, it will protrude from the calliper by ~30mm
I'm not sure, but I think you need the 288mm disk kit to use 15" rims. epytec.de/en/brake-system/adapters/2083/vw-t3-bus-caliper-adapter-brake-caliper-audi-ate-57-288x25-15-inch-brake-system?c=2047&fbclid=IwAR1BYLRjfj2Q2g-KQJR230QybqgZLd_JDhjoeqhknuQUY9bOKAssHON11FI

@@Italjohn I see it now. The Sharan brakes look a lot slimmer than the the one on my car. I do have the calipers from my old VR6 for the 313 brake discs. Been thinking of mounting it on to my Multivan for the past 8 years. I dont think the will ever be fitted.
Hi john You are starting the year 2021! Always great work! I'm interested in the front brake conversion, I'm going to look at EPITEC! What about the back? Bonne année à toi 😉
@@vanstechcorral Do you have the 1985 or older vanagon? If not you can skip the machining. Edit: I just look at your channel, you have the same old style brakes as mine.
I'm not sure what you mean by rectify the spindle? You MUST have 1986 or newer spindles to use the Epytec adapter kit. If you have 1985 or older like me, you will have to machine them.
1:45 the place for support is the protrusion into which you also put the original jack;)
I really enjoy your enthusiasm!
Thank you ❤👍😀

Thank you for the wonderful video!
Thanks for the kind reply, glad you liked it 😀
Excellent as always John. Suggestion ~ minute 4:00- I think people would like to have a pic to give to the machinist with a note showing the "80mm".

Everything torqued to "gooduntight". I upgraded my G-57 caliper rubber bush guides to solid brass.
Excellent my friend
Thanks ❤
Awesome - happy new year! I’d consider this kit if I wasn’t using stock steels as my winter wheels. It’d be fine for my summer 17s

You need 16" rims to fit the 312mm disks. Epytec have a kit for the 15" wheels as well.
Can you tell me what difference it has made? I have an ‘87 T3 Reimo still running original callipers. Thanks Ian
did you intentionally not (copper) grease the tabs and back of the pads? \o/
No, I simply forgot to do that. Thanks for reminding me 😊
Great job!
Thank you sir 🙏
Hi Johnny, could you inform me of the custom brake hose length please?

Do this new hubs use original bearings?
Yes they do 😊
@@Italjohn brilliant just bought a bus and it already has this brakes by the looks of it. And one of the bearings is shot😐
@@alexkuzmin677 The new hub is really an original brake disk, where the disk has been cut off.
Thank you for your help
Been wanting bigger brakes for a while. Will these clear 15 inch / 381mm wheels?

I see a single piston caliper but no sliders meaning the pad will only push against the inner surface of the brake pads.
Am I missing something?
You are missing something, here is the caliper: ruclips.net/video/iCMpI7Bl1Bc/видео.html

How many inches are your rims?
I have 16" Mercedes CLK
Where I can get the wheels that you have?
They are Mercedes CLK 16" wheels. Make sure you get a set with ET33 and not the ET37, as you will need spacers for the ET37. And not any wider then 7"
Молодец, Супер!
Спасибо 😀
