After 8 months in Greece, Freddo Espresso Sketo has become my new favourite. I'm now also trying to make it at home. Very nice video, thanks! I'm still confused a bit about the ice cubes though, like other comments before. What happened to the four ice cubs you put into the shaker? In the final freddo espresso, I only see the additional two ice cubes in the glass, but not the initial four ice cubs from the shaker dropping into the glass. They can't have dissolved by just shaking for a few seconds.
Hi Robert, Shaking is more than a few seconds (the video is edited). You should shake until the shaker feels very cold. By that time the ice cubes will probably be very small, that's why you add some more in the glass
I am on my holiday on Cyprus and drinking Freddo Espresso very first time. Now when I go back to home I will make it by myself. Thanks for that tutorial 👍
Pretty much spotted the vid due to that characteristic paper straw in the thumbnail. Loved the eco straw reference too. Just wish more Greek coffee shops and customers actually bothered about it.
Great coffee, thanks for the video! However, "eco friendliness" requires consistency and the right priorities, going for paper straws but using (multiple) capsules for your coffee is absurd.
As long as they recycle the used pods, there is no problem. I did a lot of research after I got a dolce gusto machine. Using coffee capsules made me more aware of the importance of recycling and am slowly making changes to my house.
@@coffeepoded I can imagine that correctly recycling the pods minimises the problem but from what I understand, only a low percentage of people actually, correctly(!), if at all, recycle the capsules. Also, not all pods are even recyclable, aluminium ones are but not all plastic ones and even aluminium ones, like the Nespresso ones for example can only be recycled by Nespresso themselves. That was the case at least last time I researched the subject. I guess more and more companies try to make their pods easily recyclable so maybe that won't be a problem anymore. One thing I didn't know however is that these pods are pretty good alternatives if we take into account the energy savings of heating up only the necessary amount of water for an espresso and the actual coffee-beans savings.
@@R8FME The recycling of pods is very hard, if possible at all. In many countries where Nespresso systems are present (both machines and capsules) - recycling is not a thing at all. For example, recently (
@Blin Kurwa Since you are not one us sheep, why don't you share your insights with us? Why does plastic not harm the environment? Would be interested in some references also so I can become wiser too!
I don't understand... it's okay to use single use coffee pods multiple time per day, but a straw once in a while is bad? I believe we should review our priorities if we want to really make a change. In any case, thank you for the video :)
Thank you so much! We took early measures here in Greece, so for now it seems that the spread of the pandemic is not very fast, which is a good thing. Currently we are under quarantine, but people are staying calm. Hope you are well, stay safe! :)
After owning plenty coffee machines like this one (with capsules ) and being Greek , I can say for sure that if you do not have a professional coffee machine and professional grade ice you cant a get a satisfying result.
