Katrina here , HOT TIP
I use a cutting board to make and eat the sandwich on , if I cut a tomato use a paper towel to wipe it up so sandwich doesn't get soggy .
That is a great idea 💡 thanks so much for the tip. Hope you have a great week ahead.
Loo Review With Sue 😂😂
Love it !
Ahahha thanks Michelle!
We live fulltime on the road, and we love it,

Ahahaha, thanks Stewie. 2 loo reviews have already be filmed! The first one was a shocker! We are def "fair weather travellers"! 🤣 hope you are all well!
OMG you gave me some visuals I’ll never get out of my brain!😂😂😂
#sueslooreview 👍🏻
Hi I live on Yorkes by the sound of the wind your not far away! Since it changed to El whatever we get weeks of howling south-east winds but such is life! Looking forward for the days of glassy mornings slight breeze on change of tide then backing off for a beautiful afternoon! Love your videos ! Safe Travels! Ps if you do get those magic days don't put them up enough people here now!
Hey Scott, yes 100% agree that these are the days you live for on the Yorke. But when they are good they are extremely good! Wow and yes so many travellers here this year compared to previous years. Can't believe how busy it is. Thanksnfor the feedback and hope you have a great week!
Hope you guys enjoy this video and find this topic helpful if you are wanting to travel😀

I choked when you said 'loo review with Sue'. Actually yes do it, nice to know the state of the facilities around the place.
😂😂 we are definitely considering it
Aha!!! I love it, will start working it into the videos I also like to know there are good loos around and which ones to avoid!
That was a great video love your Wednesday updates and info. The wife reckons a loo review would be fun, but a lot of work for Sue.
Thanks Peter, much appreciated the feedback! Hope you both have an amazing week. I have done 2 loo reviews, coming up soon....my goodness the first one was shocking 🤭
Love your videos, I look forward to them👍
Thanks so much for the feedback, much appreciated it!
Definitely need Loo Review with Sue!
Thanks Bec, seems it is a big yes for the loo review!
Love your honest videos ! Would have a laugh and take notes of a Loo Review with Sue ! X
Ahaha thanks so much guys! Appreciate the feedback and support. Happy to bear you are enjoying the content!
Such a great video. Still laughing at “the rub past!” 😅
Ahahhha? Omg still in shock 😲 2 years and he also let the cat out of the bag!
Weather , weather , weather !!!!!!! Can totally control travels . My husband is a weather watch nerd , constantly checking temps and wind both away in the caravan and here at home in Perth. Incidentally , we live in a 2 story home on a small 400sm block , our caravan is 19.6’ long . We have been married 51 fabulous years but when in our confined vehicle and caravan for long periods of time , our interpersonal relationship is even better than when at home . My husband Peter would happily stay full time on the road but I have the draw of 5 grandchildren here at home .
Wow Fleur 51 years! Congrats that is commendable and yes the draw of 5 grand babies would be enough to keep anyone at home! Family is our richness in life together with health so totally get it! Good to hear you love you van, Deryck and I do well together as well so not looking to stop anytime soon. Thanks for your support! Yes the men are always the weather needs 🤣
HAH!…..Too much information Derek….brushing pass the cook on the way to the bathroom…😂
Your both really funny….
Great pros and cons guys! Post “C” people in city life have changed a lot, heavy traffic, long lines, yada yada….life on the road is still up there! There’s some great folks out there..
My hubby and I are part timers on the road with 2 fur babies…. continue to live the dream guys…❤
😂😂😂😂
Thank you guys 🙌🏻🙌🏻
HinKayz, thanksnso much, great to see your feedback! Yeah I nearly choked when Deryck mentioned brushing past 🤣🤣🤣 I'm on to him now so there will be no more of that! Great to jear you are enjoying part time travel and hope your fur babies are enjoying it with you!
Penny and I lived in our van ( which is a little bigger than yours ) for 12 years on and off (a lot more on than off ) and we still love using our van, heading to the Pilbara in April , can’t wait and by the way we free camp more than in caravan parks .
What a joy to watch. Just a couple who are comfortable in their space and their lifestyle. I'm just a bit envyous.
Another great video - made me laugh about Deryck using 3 plates making a sandwich, my husband is the same, drives me mad haha!
100% they live on another dishes planet! Good to know I am not the only one 🙂
Hi , absolutely loved this video. Yes living in a small space can be extremely challenging but we love it. Oh gosh guys we actually have many show dogs that we travel with and hubby actually tows a specially built dog trailer. I two the tinny with my baby four wheel drive. Now Sue make a cape out of a hand towel, wet it, put it on your dog, put the fan on or hang wet towels around travel crate but a fan on acts like air conditioning for Bob on those very hot days. Travel Safe❤
Hi Gail, apologies I just SA this message! Oh wow I can just imagine you hurtling around the country with the dogs and tinnie in tow! That is a great idea with the Cape. The problem would be keeping it on him as he is so busy but could def put it over the care. A really great idea! Thanks so much for sharing and for the feedback! Hope you have abgreat week!
THANK YOU FOR TAKING ME WITH YOU ITS GREAT
Thanks for the feedback Michael, that's what this is all about. Hope you enjoy! Have a great week!
Great informative video. I love how Mr Bob jumps on the lounge like he rules the place lol. When its extremely cold you just dont want to leave the caravan but really the same when its sooo hot arghhhh but yep being hot there is nothing like a nice swim to cool you down. As for water consumption, oh dear that is a problem, as much as we are frugal both of us still like to shower daily so its a quick get wet, get soaped, get rinsed and out lol.
Loo review with Sue - hahaha love it
Thanks so much guys, agree weather can make it super challenging! Bob does think he owns the place! Small pup big attitude 🤣 ahaha loo review coming soon! Have abgreat week and travel safe!
Hey guys, we both wish you a happy 3yr anniversary on the road 😊 👍🥂🍻🎉
Thanks so much Lyn, never thought we would be celebrating our 10th on the road!
Hey guys thanks for a fantastic vid. We love Bob. We have lady Frenchy named Chloe and she loves our van and travels too. One random question: where did you get the plant on the wall behind Sue? My wife has been trying to find the same one. Cheers Lee
Hi Lee thanks and apologies just saw this message. Your Frenchie sounds gorgeous! I bet Bob would adore her. Frenchies just play differently! The plant ai got at Ikea but the holder I got from a store called Ned's in Gawler SA. You can buy the online I think.
We can relate to everything you've just mentioned. We're in our 70's and still have our home but try to get away in our caravan as much as possible. 140 days last year and in two weeks time about to do 3 months in the Sth Island here in NZ. Up until 5 years ago we did a lot of motorcycle touring. But Jan got cancer 5 years ago & had a rough trot. So caravaning is our thing now. We absolutely love it & have met so many great people. Keep doing what you love guys because you don't know what's around the corner. 😊😊
Sue, I used 3 stickers. Each time I used something I would remove a sticker. If after 4 trips (so about 8 weeks in all) anything that still had 3 stickers was removed. Anything with 2 I would remove if we needed space otherwise give it 2 more trips then toss if still has 2 stickers. Anything with 1 sticker I would also give those 2 further trips to see if used. I made me realise just how much wasn't needed. I guess if we used ours longer than 2 weeks at a time I would use the 1 sticker rule 👍
That is such a good idea! I have heard of the 1 sticker rule but 3 makes real sense! I can believe what we took with is when we left and ended up throwing out!
Woohoo! South African camping taken to the outback! My husband and I would loooove to move there. He is also super into reptiles and there is even more there than in Durban 😅 Anyway, very informative video guys - great advice 🙌
I've been following you guys for some time now, and I did go back to watch your first episode as you suggested, and I found it quite OK. You have improved over time. I love your S-african accents and you both come across as very genuine people. From the start I've picked up that you didn't have much of a clue about anything, and even now that hasn't improved much at all. Don't take offence but that's what keeps me tuned to you. We are about to set off on our own journey doing the Big Lap or two, and we also don't have any real clue on what to expect. That's the adventure side of things rather than the destination. And Deryck, I don't remember a time where you have actually made a decision on what to eat. It's more like, "What are we having for dinner" and Sue goes into a shpeal on what she will do. I adore you both, I'll keep following you and maybe we will cross paths one day. Cheers Mick and Kathy
Hey guys apologies we only just saw this message. Ahaha yes I think you jave us spot on. Def didn't have a clue and still often don't! We are just rolling through our travels and living the experiences we are having. Yeah Deryck asks me everyday about dinner! So exciting that you are hitting the road to travel and experience the lifestyle. Best of lucknwoth tour trip. Stay safe and thanknyou for your support!
Loo Review with Sue - yes please...
Hee hee 😜 will do!
Looking forward to the first episode of "Loo reviews with Sue" LOL
Thanks Ray, seems it is a big yes to the loo review! Have a great week and thanks for the support!
Awesome vid , good to hear the truth about life on the road, thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks Shaun, appreciate the feedback 👍 hope you have an amazing weekend!
Great video. I’m about to hit yoke peninsula and your right the people & places are amazing. I’m in a van, so even smaller 😱
Can’t wait to see you on the road somewhere. Xxx
That's awesome Renee! The Yotke is gorgeous. Please say hi if you are in the area. We are parked up at the beach at the moment and it is stunning. Safe travels!
One of the best travelling videos on RUclips We are 11 months in to our 18 month trip around Australia in our 21 foot van and 110% agree with everything in the video
So glad Sue is looking and sounding a lot better after her illness and looking forward to her mid week video “The Loo and Sue” 👍😂😂
Thanks so much guys, yeah after 11 months on the road you would be pros! There are definitely challenges but the benefits far outweigh them! Appreciate the support and feedback and hope you have an amazing Australia 🇦🇺 day tomorrow. Safe travels!
Subscribed. Great video guys. You guys are so down to earth and real! Good to see
Welcome Callum, great to hear and thanks for the feedback! Hope you have an awesome Australia 🇦🇺 day

Ahaha thanks Kristina, coming soon by popular demand!
Thanks heaps guys…great little chat!! Happy Straya Day!
Happy Straya Day to you too! And thanks so much for the feedback, we really appreciate it!
Awesome episode guys. Hit the road full time next week and cannot wait. Great tips xx
Oh wow! You are on the road! How is it going ? Hope you are enjoying. Safe travels!
@@suelandolt6840 Monday we head off full time and can’t wait.
VIC first on our list
Loo reviews with Sue Is a great idea.
Yeeeew, coming ro you soon by popular demand!
Don’t destroy what you come to enjoy is the main thing you need to remember but some people leave their site in a pigsty
100% agree. I always make sure to walk the camp-site before we leave to place sure it is left clean! Have a great Australia 🇦🇺 day 😀
Hi guys thanks for the tips me and my wife are going full time in our van in March can’t wait
Loo reviews with Sue 😂 - the state of the facilities can be a make or break aspect of your enjoyment of a location!
I suppose you have to be careful how you talk about it from a legal perspective, but as long as you clearly state it’s your opinion and your experience at that time should be good.
100% agree! A bit of B-roll speaks for its self!
I think the best part is not having so much stuff.
Agreed that you have to keep it tidy or it looks like a tip very quickly. We spent 4 months in wet and cold weather, that is very messy.
Ahaha, yes it gets messy very easily! 4 months in bad weather would have been challenging! I love not having too much stuff! I remember cleaning out the house before we hit the road and how good it felt just to get rid of things we were hoarding. Now we just have what we need!
Awesome episode.
Hardest part of leaving your house is getting rid of all the stuff you don’t need and prob never did need. Keep up the good work. 👌
ThanksnJohn, yes agree you live very simply on the road and surprising how.lottle you actually need! I threw out trailer loads of nonsense when we hit the road!
Yes Loo Review with Sue.
My husband and I travel in our campervan with our cat.
I always thought of doing Loo Reviews Too. So yep go for it Sue. Everything you both said I totally agree with.
We hope to run into you guys At sometime 💕
Thanks so much Wendy, yup the loo review seems to be a big yes! Just dine the foray one and its not good 🤢 hope your travels are going well and yes would be lovely to meet along the road!
Love the honesty from you guys about living and travelling in a van here in Australia. Thanks for highlighting South Australia as a great place to visit, SA is the most overlooked State from a lot of RUclipsr's who seem to skip/bypass when travelling or fail to highlight destinations/places. Sa has a lot to offer people so do your homework if your thinking of visiting and it's not all about hugging the Coastline, there's a lot of places inland. Love watching your Vid's and thanks for sharing your experiences on your travels.
Thanks Alvin appreciate you comment and feedback. Yes I agree SA is an amazing state with so much to see and do. We keep coming back, just can't help ourselves. The inland spots are just as gorgeous and interesting as the coastline. Appreciate your support and have a great week! 👍
👌 👍 🤠 cheers 🍻 👏
Greetings from south africa 🇿🇦
Hey Yusuf! Great to hear from you've, have missed you! Thanks so much, hope you are staying safe and well!
Fantastic episode- a must view for those planning a lap
Thanks Charlotte, really appreciate that feedback! Hope you have an awesome Australia 🇦🇺 day
I envy you both. You're so blessed to be doing the ventures you go on. Thanks again.
Thanks David, we agree, we are very lucky to be in the situation to travel. We are very grateful. Hope you have a great Australia 🇦🇺 day 😀
Another top Infovideo guys, lots of good points you make...Early next year I will be hauling HERSELF out of her 5 bedroom,2 bath house in suburbia into a 22ft6 van for a 12 to 18month trip around, so think I will be referring back to this vid as a refresher prior to hauling up the anchor and setting the jib.....(.Glad to see D got those measurements .....on tape...) Cheers guys....enjoy....
Thanks Graham, wownthat will be a huge change and adjustment but will be great to stop spending time on keeping the house and start living experiences! Not long to go now. Good luck with your planning, super excited for you. Best decision we ever made!
Sue you have an amazing smile. We spent couple of weeks at Jacobs well. Doesn’t matter how bad the weather gets, got to check the crab pots. Mud crabs are delicious
Thanks so much Peter. Yes I have heard that Jacobs Well is superb! So good when you can crab!
@@suelandolt6840 back down here now. Also have mud crab for Aussie day.
Thanks team, another great info vid.We both enjoyed it,not much input from Bob would like to has take on things.
Thanks guy's.👌🏿👍🏾
🤣🤣🤣😍🤣 love that Doug, will have to get him to send you a DM! He snored all through the filming! Thanks as always for the support and hope you have a great Australia 🇦🇺 and I
Could I vote for 'loo revue with Sue' that tiny red light is my worst fear...... Thinking of purchasing a second cassette?
100% you can! Tha ks for the feedback a second cassette is a agreat idea. We just need to free up some weight and space for it! Have a great weekend!
Great idea and great info safe travels 🤗🤗
Thanks Jo, happy you enjoyed it. Happy Australia 🇦🇺 day!
Thanks so much for sharing this Derek & Sue, have a van being built and can’t wait to do similar soon, very much enjoy your videos and helpful advice, luv your work .
Thanks so much Michael, really appreciate the feedback and so excited for your new van! Good luck with the preparations and feel free to reachbout with any questions!
@@suelandolt6840 thank you Sue, am getting a SKT Urban built after seeing Sarah and Keelan’s walk thru video just after they got theirs lol, they were so helpful too and have loved their travels, stay safe and have fun, you guys always make us have a giggle🤪
Great episode guys. Look forward to using the app Sue! It is amazing how excited you get about dump points and clean ‘amenities’ when you’re on the road 😄
Too true 🤣🤣🤣 we get very excited about a dumpnsote, who would have thought!
Thankyou for your insights. I wouldn't travel with a pet due to the restrictions in national parks. Hope you have a great Australia Day x
Hi Michele. It does restrict you alot. Requires extra planning, extra $$$$ and missing out in some superb camp sites.
Great vid by the way, bit of a touchy question here. Are you coming across couples or whoever that is that it's more of what they have on show then enjoying the journey. Everyone's budget is different and it's great to have nice things at the end of the day,but geez there's some expensive rigs out there. Keep up the great work and safe travels.
Hey Nate, thanks so much for the comment. The amazing thing is we cross paths with all sorts of people on the road. As is ever in life, some like to have a top class set up and others travel in really affordable setups. Rhey all have different advantages and disadvantages depending on the location! We would have loved to do the Cape in a Roof top or swag to allow us to camp along the OTT! The important thing is that they are all parked up at the same spot and enjoying the same view! Doesn't matter how you do it as long as it is comfortable, safe and fun! Hope you have a great Australia 🇦🇺 day tomorrow!
Loved this video guys thank you 😊
Thanks so much for the support and feedback 😀
Loved it thanks you two ❤️
Thanks Annette, we appreciate your support and feedback! Happy Australia 🇦🇺 day!
Ooh I do miss the “rub past” from our caravan days…. 😜
😂😂
🤣🤣 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is just like dancing. You need to get nice and close.
I wasn't a good cancer though.
It might be a small living space, but look at the size of your yard🤣. All the best, take care.
So true, we love it! Thanks so much for the support. Have a great weekend!
Great tips guys can’t wait for the loo review with Sue
we are building a caravan at the moment and are putting in a compost toilet so we don’t have to worry about dump points what do you think?
That is very exciting! Congratulations! Yeah the compost toilets are great for off grid and you don't have to worry about dump points. A little different to manage but once you get the hang of them I believe they are great. We have friends who swear by them and others who don't enjoy them but definitely easier if you are off grid!
I liked the idea of rubbing past each other 🙂 cheers legends
Ahahaha, yes nearly choked when Deryck threw that one out there andnhendoes the editing so....! Keeps me laughing for sure! Have a great Australia 🇦🇺 day tomorrow!
How many times does Derek need to go to the Lou when you are cooking Sue? 😂😂
Bwaaahaaaa, I'm on to it now! He will have to wait until I am finished 😆😉🤣
You guys are Living the Dream full stop..
Great life style..😉
Thank you. We do have to pinch ourselves some days
Thanks so much, we feel very lucky to have the opportunity! Have a agreat Aussie Day 😀
Great episode. We have done 2 x 5 mth trips around Eastern Australia over the past 18 months. I have to agree with most of your points. The need to adapt to living in a small space does have it's challenges but the positives far outway the negatives. We hit the road again in a few months heading to WA. Hope to catch up with you somewhere.
Thanks so much fornyour feedback! That is super exciting, good luck with your preps and yes would be great to see you on the road somewhere! Let us know of you are in the area.
Haha great video guys, mrs wants to know how often do you change the cassette over on the toilet? We are about to leave to travel full time around Australia in a few weeks
Thanks for the feedback! Great question, the loo will last 3 to 7 days depending of you are doing number 2s! If there are ablutions we will utilise them. A second cassette is a great idea if you ha e spa e and weight! So excited for you hitting g the road, good luck and enjoy!
@@suelandolt6840 awesome! thanks for the repsonse good idea
I vote for the “Loo review with Sue” 🤣
Yeah! Coming to you soon by popular demand!!!!
Hi Guys.
We are currently having a new off road caravan being built and like the timber look bench tops...are they laminex or timber table and bench tops thank you
Hi Mike, how exciting and congratulations! They are a wood look but not real wood. So assuming laminex.
Great video guys loved it we are working out a lot of this stuff in last 3 months keep it up 👌🇦🇺
Thank you 😁🙌🏻
Thanks for the feedback! We really appreciate it and feel free to reach n out with questions. Have a great Australia day 😀 👍
Yes for Sue’s loo review please😂
Love it, had a number of votes for this one! Will be coming to you soon! Have agreat Australia 🇦🇺 day tomorrow!
Great ep. We have been camping for years but only short trips. Our van is due in Aug and we are planning to live full time on the road, your video really helped giving a ‘real’ take on what vanlife is really like. We are so excited to do this. Best of luck to you both and of course lil’ Bob :-)
Thank you so much. Glad we help in these videos some way..
That's is so exciting! Congratulations! August is around the corner! Good luck with your preparations and feels free to reach out with any questions 😀
Hey guy's, love your videos!! We have just purchased our new caravan and will be selling everything to travel full-time with our dog as well! Would you use an annex ? We have been wondering if it would be useful if we park up somewhere for 2 or so weeks?
Hey guys. That is such exciting news! Congrats!!! An annex is great if you stop for 2 weeks regularly. They rake up space and weight but do give you double the living area. For us probably a no but we move every 2 to 5 days. Depends how quickly to go! Best of luck with the sale!!!
Living the life guys !!!
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thanks Jeff, hope you ha enjoying a great Australia day 😀
We are loving these episodes guys. We are waiting to get our van (March/April) and will be fulltime travellers. Thanks for giving us the nitty gritty of van life, its very refreshing to see an honest take on the lifestyle. Just a question about showers. Do you just have a really short shower or do you turn on the water and get wet then turn it off while you wash and then rinse off. Just trying to work out how to use the least amount of water.
Turn it on, get wet, shampoo and soap and then rinse! As quick as you can! Some days I step out and still have soap in my eyes 👀 🤣 but all depends how far away tou are from water 💧 recommend a bladder so you can drive and refill and aottle pump from bunnings to pump it into the van! Or water tank on the cat if you prefer to a bladder! Good luck with your preparations!
@@suelandolt6840 thanks Sue, sounds like a bit of a challenge but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.
That ,s normal for SA
100% hope you have a good week!
All good points and the coffee cup tipslol. Loo with Sue could be something you could Do the Good the Bad and the downright Ugly of the Dunny 👍 💩 👍
Ahahaha thanks Paul. Yes the loo review seems a gut. Just filmed one and it is "the ugly" 🤢 hope you have a great week!
A dump point is at the end of your shovel if needed. It is only organic and it is good to travel without the toilet controlling everywhere we go as there are plenty of spots well away from where people go :)
So true! A bit of digging digging and you are good to go! And agree you need to venture off track to really experience it! Appreciate the support and hope you have a great Australia 🇦🇺 day tomorrow 😀
We have purchased a van and currently building savings and paying off debt. Then we will be off!
That is so exciting and great to hear Jamie, congrats and good luck with your preparations!
We also are movers. What is the longest you have stayed in any one place?
Hey guys, thanks so much for the question. We stopped to work in Gawler for 5 months in 2021. When it comes to camp-site I think the longest we have stayed is 2 weeks but that is super unusual. 1 to 4 nights usually. Hope you are enjoying and safe travels!
@@suelandolt6840 thanks for your reply. We do about the same as you do. We live in Adelaide and are heading off for Mt Gambier on Monday.
Stop wiping the bloody table mate lol
Ahahaha! Yeah he loves it! 🤣 I should have put a cleaning cloth in one hand and a polisher in the other!
My view from the loo with Sue 😂
Hee hee, coming to you soon by popular demand! Hopenyou have a great Australia 🇦🇺 day Lee! Thanks for the support!
I just crossed the Nullarbor and am chilling in Lancelin, heading into Perth tomorrow for a week but if your heading to my home town in SA let me know and I’ll organise a park up for you 😘
12m2 is only the area you sleep and maybe sit in. When in Australia you actually LIVE in 7.7 Trillion m2, so stop whinging.😅
This is true and it's a beautiful country!
First 😂
Yeah! Thanks Peter, hope you enjoy!
Hope you enjoy 🙌🏻
Great videos, but you continually interrupt you wife all the time when she is speaking.
Thanks Diane we are working on that one! We are both big talkers!
12 square metres is a problem? FFS.
Not a problem at all just a different way of living. We would choose it over a large home any day.
