#Iceland #Volcano #VolcanicEruption
Glad everyone was evacuated so far ahead. Despite its destructive power, this feels oddly serene.
Will they be taxing it?
for me it is the feeling of knowing that there are forces in nature so much larger than you that you neednt stress with what impact or kind of impact youre having because it's all insignificant
It isn't called The Land of Fire & Ice for no reason

My new eruprion is funny
We were in Iceland in September for nine incredible days, and I am in awe of this beautiful country. What an incredible act of Mother Nature to witness!! I am relieved they knew this would be coming, due to the recent quakes, so the villages surrounding it could prepare. Stay safe, Icelanders!
Glaciers will melt contributing to climate change naturally of course.
The beauty of mother nature ❄️🌋
The land of fire and ice is amazing
Seeing something like this must be emotionally overpowering.
Witnessing the power of mother nature is a very unique feeling, you feel it seeing waves crash on a cliffside but seeing something like this must be on another scale.
Waiting for the flat earthers to try to explain this.
Spectacular footage. Bummer about the town but bro if your house is destroyed by a volcano and there's 0 casualties that is a radical story you have to tell.
And we are insured also
This is most fortuitous@@hjaltigrettis1
Lava flows aren’t very deadly
Imagine being a Icelandic tribes man 1000 years ago, you don’t understand why rain falls, lightning strikes etc and you see this. This is why we have religion.
Are you smoking? Icelandic settlers already had civilization when they arrived, and had it for a long time before that.
Add to that the frequent spooky green lights in the sky
Sine we now understand why rain falls, why lightning strikes and why it strikes where it does, and why volcanoes erupt we should abolish all religions then shouldn't we ?
Did I say we should abolish religion? @@gaeig
So a viking ? 😂😂😂
Cameraman never dies
Considering the cameraman is safe in a helicopter, Congrats with that conclusion 🎉
@@NinjaVikingOG thats a running gag and you are way to slow for it
@lutzteichmann5300 really too slow for it, by whos standard's, yours 🤣🤣
Robert Landsburg would like a word.
@@lutzteichmann5300 everyone knows that but here the cameraman wasn't even in danger
Annual anthropogenic (human) CO2 emissions in 2022 totalled 37.15 billion metric tonnes. A study estimating total CO2 release from the Laki eruption (18th century Iceland, a basaltic fissure eruption of similar magnitude) was 304 million tonnes over the eruption’s year-long duration (Hartley et al., 2014). This is 0.008% of annual anthropogenic emissions.
If anyone figures out a way to prevent volcanic eruptions, by all means let us know, but in the mean time I think it’s pretty obvious that the anthropogenic emissions (which we actually can prevent!) are a tad more of a problem 👍
Just Love estimates , the anthropogenic CO2 was exactly 37.15 bmt ,the volcanic eruption at laki estimated at 304 million tons that's a bold statement and huge numbers, what about all the other eruptions all over the planet ?.
@@svenlarsen4876 All volcanoes across the planet release about 1% of the CO2 we release annually.
What a incredible view over the lava
Hope everyone stays safe ❤
Dont worry it's me im a volcano i erupted again 3 day i stopped erupring sorry for this
It looks like it's erupting in slow motion. Are those spurts flying up super high and they just look a lot smaller?
About 30 to 40 meters high
Those r flames
In this clip the heighest they were going into the air was about 150 meters. Now its slowed down and is only going about 30-40 meters in the air
Volcanoes can’t burn. Rocks are not flammable.@@kettlebelleddie5272
Finally. The suspense has been riveting.
Anakin, don't do it...I have the high ground!
😂😂😂
I hate you, Obi Wan!
Mother nature is so amazing
I'm just waiting for the Guardian to explain how this was caused by fossil fuels. Lava is dangerous: keep it in the ground !!
Dang thats insane
Interesting. I'd always thought of volcanoes as a big hole you look down into.
Beats those Las Vegas water-fountain shows.
Just another spectacular act of Mother Nature creating new land in such an awesome flair.
Fire and Ice....wow
Just stop Lava! :p
Was expecting to see 2 guys recreating the high ground scene
That's so big that it looks like a scene from a movie.
A song of fire and ice
Looks lit.
Wow
So awesome
The awesome power of nature!
Holy mother of nature!
Fire and ice! Mother Nature showing her strength in Iceland! The earth is a living, fire breathing planet!
So it begins
Pilot has insane trust in his machine 💪
Cameraman has insane trust in the pilot.
Well the eruption is effusive not explosive, it's just releasing lava
Eh, he’s easily within gliding distance
Nature just flexing.
It is not a volcano but a fissure vent.
The destructive power of Mother Nature that the human race can't control
its a ver very beautiful
Cool...
I wonder if it can move the earth plate apart
Remember it’s all Mother Nature things happen for a reason I’m glad they were able to evacuate safely
Oh dear, it would seem that Iceland won't be able to meet it's net zero target any time soon.
Where is Obi-Wan and Anakin ?
Did the helicopter leave the cameraman behind at the end?
Theres a road that goes out to that mountain overlook. You watch, there will be hundreds of people out there
“I don’t want to set the world on fire.”
Sauron has awaken.
Wow this looks spectacular
How wise is it to fly a manned turbine engined helicopter over an active volcano 😊
We humans (some of us) like to take risks.
Indeed you can feel the heat through my screen -the glow is intense it must be 2000 or 3000 °F there. @@gagarinone
Ty for sharing!! Praying the people are ok!!!
It's called Hotland now 😊
😂
We had Holland and Hoeland now this!
The route to the bathroom at Taco Bell

I fear they will lose that town
It's over Volcano, i have the high ground
Who will pay emission allowance?
❤❤❤❤❤
Anakin where are you ?
No Ice land anymore as it becomes Hot land😮
"Fireland" you mean?
It looks like a World of Warcraft cinematic
Going to change the Name no more IceLand LavaLand...Nature Always wins But we always underestimate it
It might look pretty, but my advice to any holiday makers and sightseers is don't go near it.
My heart goes out for everyone in Iceland be safe. sadly, this had to happen 😔
Calm down. Mother nature, and they were ready for it
This is Ai
How? 😂

The Elden Ring DLC is looking awesome.
Certainly didn’t expect to find this kind of comment here
You went hollow too at TGA?

How much carbon do volcanos put into the air vs man made carbon emissions?
Well the 2010 eruption of Eyjafjallafjökull output roughly 300 cubic metres per second of lava (this is 100 cubic metres per second) and produced 150,000,000kg of CO2. That might sound like a lot but Eyjafjallafjökull's second phase of the eruption was explosive and released large amounts of ash, grounding flights across Europe. Ironically, this avoided roughly 344,000,000kg of CO2 emissions, meaning the eruption actually avoided 194,000,000kg of CO2 being released into the atmosphere
Volcanoes don't release that much CO2 anyway, it's mainly water vapour
More SOx and NOx which are reflective in the stratosphere, ie lowering global temperatures and above the troposphere so last longer up there before being washed out.
Oh no! How are you going to stop c02.😅
Unless the volcano erupts under a coal deposit the size of Kazakhstan and set it on fire (like 250 million years ago, and then killing 90% of the Earth's living things), no. Volcanoes tends to release ash and sulphur into the atmosphere and cools the earth a little bit.
Perhaps they can instal a huge catalytic converter. I hope it won't get stolen
@@yatsumleung8618 The French Revolution 1789-1799, happened after a volcanic eruption, the Laki eruption in Iceland.
The volcanic eruption deteriorated the climate, caused crop failures and famine, and triggered one of the most famous insurrections of starving people in history - the French Revolution of 1789-1799.
Those eruptions are more rare than diamonds in your yard@@gagarinone
Also those last for 2 years and cool the earth.@@gagarinone

Does this emit CO2 to the atmosphere from billions of years?
No.
Get the feeling our planet is tearing up!?
It is in Iceland
It always has done and always will do. In fact, we’ve gone through a massive lull in destructive natural disasters in the last century, so unfortunately we’re due something horrific. It doesn’t help that we’ve decided to settle in the most dangerous places, although deaths from natural disasters are 10% of what they were a century ago, despite the World’s population quadrupling in that time.
Iceland should rename themselves as "Ice and Fire"(word in their language) land
Looks like what could go wrong did go wrong with the cheese fondue.
Where are ecologists 😂😂😂😂 emissions of co2 so high put ULEZ cameras there 😂😂😂
What do you mean? Volcanos and fissures are part of the natural carbon cycle.
It’s not deadky

Pray that all people are safe.
Since thes to Iceland, the country should be paying a cabon tax to the World Climate Coalition.
A volcano spewing lava! How unusual! ;o) That's what volcanos do, fellahs.
"You shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."

The.
We'll all have to drive electric cars for a 100 years to cover for that emission 😅
Actually the daily car emissions produce 10000 times more than that (not a true statement, but a rough estimate) also this volcano isn’t making much emissions since it’s just lava flows.
@@EperogiLimousine the daily emissions from cars is 10.000 times this whole eruption? That is just unbelievable.
Look it up if you want. Not to mention this is simply molten rock, the higher emissions are from ash bearing eruptions.@@larsheihei3683
How much CO2 is this event spewing into the atmosphere? Perhaps a 'Stop Eruptions Society' might be formed by concerned youngsters.
Vulcanos in tottall less then 1 % of humans
You’re not correct
Let's open Blue Lagoon...
Is this volcano being carbon taxed? Sure looks like its hurting the environment more than my car. lol
More then one car. Yes. More then over 3 billion cars. Nope
