Despite all the damn annoying pro-contra fighting about dub-sub, genres, etc.. This music piece is a masterpiece and forever connected with how Anime came to the rest of the world. Thanks U.S. Manga.
I've been listening to this song for close to three decades. Thousands of times. I'm still not sure whether they use 4 or 5 guitars. There's one left, one right, one bass guitar, one for the solo. Sometimes I think there's an extra one in the middle, but I'm not sure. This recording of the instrumental is really nice. I swear to God, it sounds like there are some people talking in the background at multiple points, around for example 2:32 and again later around 2:50. The drums are also slightly different in the original. But still, I turn up the volume, sit back and enjoy this song...
I am right there with you, friend. This song is what made me want to play guitar. 25 years later, it's still somehow some of the coolest guitar work out there. Japanese electric guitar has certainly has a unique sound to those that can pick it out.
Great time for anime and its soundtracks. '90s as well for '80s called for Great rockin' guitar. Lots of flash and speed in the soloing too. Love it! ❤ Wish it would make a comeback, bot the way they soundtrack anime mindlessly these days seemingly.
Yes! This track had inspired a character for my comic way back in the day. She was a female ninja, who was part alien. I remember Deedlit of Record of Lodoss War, and Oyuki from Dagger of Kamui, being influences for her also.. Along with this cherry blossom tree I had in my yard.. Though she was a ninja princess, she was also the lead vocalist of a band called "Night Orchid" lol.. She ends up falling in love with the main character, who is also part alien, though of a race that everyone in numerous star systems hate and or fear.. He like her is raised on Earth, though he was sent to Earth by accident and was supposed to be terminated minutes after he was born, due to a rare mutation he is born with called "Fury Continuum", which would on day put him into a permanent state of indiscriminate viciousness and destruction lust, capable of destroying worlds even galaxies. He is the lead vocalist/guitarist of what is called a "Strife Metal Band", named "Ragnarok".. I had called the comic "Armament of Volition" and made a game based on it, in high school with some friends in programming class. 2 teachers had even helped. The game was an RPG, heavily inspired by Chrono Trigger, and Samurai Spirits Bushido Retsuden.. No time travel, you did travel 4 different planets and a massive space city called, "Zot" (it is run by criminal factions). We did want the main character's gun and sword play to be a thing, so he was given a gun-blade called "Violent Grace". His secondary weapon was called an "Infinite Frequency Manipulator", or IFM. A sonic weapon that gathers harmonic energy, for harmonic psychic attacks.. Being a musician his IFM is fashioned after a guitar he named "Violent Resonance". In the story I remember his mutation is stopped, due to powers he obtains from his adoptive father who is killed.. There was some humorous things in there, and the joke with his father, was that it was slightly implied he was like Star Lord, like Project A-Ko's parents are implied to be Wonder Woman, and Superman. I had picked Star Lord, because my brother and I loved that comic as kids, space stuff in general, and the painting of him from the 1970s, that was in our comic shop lol. Though the mutation is completely halted, it isn't gone and he learns to control it and awaken it for combat of course. He merges with his battle companion a massive alien beast (looks like a godly shape shifting wolf who is also the bassist in the band) named Varg, who becomes like a nano-suit like armor, which contains the destructive forces coming from him. He also has to wear his "Ulfhednar Grimr", a mask that allows him to retain his sanity, while in this state which is his third weapon himself called, "Weapon of Sovereign Ruination, True Arsenal From, Righteous Violence". At the time the game looked like PS1 Guilty Gear.. I am currently redoing the comic (since I do draw better now, than in high school), and my brother really wants me to redo the comic as well as my friend's mother.. I had stopped when he passed away, but was encouraged to get back into it. I would like the remake of the game to look like Guilty Gear as well, lol currently doing a little drawing of the main character's portrait.. The original game was never finished, but was left at a good point and back in 2007 I was told kids still played it, which was wild! i.imgur.com/2fu5Tp7.jpg?2
Genocyber is a weird one for many reasons, varying from its mixed quality across all five eps to how incredibly bleak it is, but the biggest is how I don't think I've heard many soundtracks just nail the tone as perfectly as it does. Genocyber is made for that part of your teenage brain that's nothing but angst, excessively gory horror movies, and moody synth/rock albums and the OST fits that like a fucking glove.
Thanks for uploading this instrumental version! ♡ May I ask how you created it? I wonder if I may use it for a cover. I will link to your channel, of course.

Wow... thank you for upload! I love this song... it's a present!
That U.S. Manga Corp promo...Big Wars, Record of the Lodoss War, Tokyo Babylon...that one with the dude with the lightsaber arm attachment
I can't remember the title, but it was a badass movie.
Yeah! Garaga.
I still have a DVD with this promo. Those were the days man
Not the mention the promo also features Iria: Zeiram the Animation.
This instrumental version feels like it should be in the Guilty Gear franchise somewhere. Maybe an opening cinematic for one of the games.
You're damn right! I do think the same way! Btw guilty gear is filled with tributes to bands and rock songs!
It was in a promo reel of other animes. They knew the song was good enough to use it as a commercial for other properties.
