I spent almost 2 straight weeks during quarantine doing just this achievement. I had lost my sanity by the end. The worst part is that you'll fail a challenge for some weird reason that may not even be your fault. It can be so brutal
I’ve done this achievement twice. Once on the original release and on the collector’s addition, it just takes time, patience, a little luck and a good walkthrough or two.
Yeah I watched both Straydog's and Snamwiche's videos on them getting this achievement and both of them were dang neat pulling their teeth out trying to do it.
That achievement took me over a year to complete, same with all the other tricky ones. This was a brutal one I do not wish to do ever again, even though I likely won't touch the series for at least a good 5ish years, so they could feel fresh again.
Bioshock 1 survivor took me about 3 days to accomplish, horrible times. Bioshock 2 was a bit of a struggle, but managed to get them all in a week. Bioshock Infinite or 3, I haven't passed 1999 mode at the moment. It's been a long struggle for me that is.
For 1999 mode I would restart the checkpoint every time I die so I don't lose money I need for precious upgrades. There's less checkpoints in 1999 mode, so that can be pretty annoying. Also I recommend buying damage upgrades and nothing else when it comes to guns. Not sure about the vigors, but the invincibility upgrade for the Charge is a must-have especially when fighting Lady Comstock, and the Possession upgrade that allows you to possess humans is the best way to kill armored rocket/flak cannon soldiers.
1:51 whats painful to me about scavenger hunt is that i completed it just yesterday but i misread it so I thought that i couldn’t buy items from ANY store so i beat 1999 mode without upgrading or buying anything i got completely pissed when i reread the achievement again and realized i could of upgraded my vigors and weapons and seeing what blue ribbon champ has to offer i think im just gonna cheat on that one, great video btw just found your channel
Hey, at least you completed it, so congrats on that lol! And yes, it would've frustrated me as well. Also, thank you, hope you enjoy the rest of the content!
as somebody who platinum'd bioshock 1 twice on ps3 and ps4, then bioshock 2 and bioshock infinite all within that same month, i can say for certain that I am terrified of whatever trophies will be on bioshock 4
To me the most complicated challenges were 2 in Emporia Arcade: "Defeat all enemies while they are distracted with a Booker Decoy Tear." (And the enemies are 2 handymans, I lose the challenge lot of time because a handyman jumped to the death :( ) "Defeat each enemy with the same weapon-type it wields", I had hard time identify the weapon used by each enemy soldier, I've used a guide and Return to Sender for that one
You know, this was one of the worst achievements to get I have achieved. This I did have to take breaks throughout the days because they have become so aggravating one of the hardest achievements to get and it doesn’t help that the game crashes my least favorite challenge was killing two handyman, distracted by a decoy Booker that sucked so much it wouldn’t tell you if you messed up kill in the first one. It was just a mess, but I deafly got it if I could take a picture and show you guys I would I love BioShock though, so it had to be done and I had to do it
I did a hardcore run of the original Bioshock, where I tried to get through the game from start to finish on Survivor difficulty with Vita Chambers disabled. I was not allowed to use Gatherer’s Garden machines, Research bonuses (beyond the Spider Splicer research required to complete Neptune’s Bounty), Power to the People stations, I couldn’t collect any Tonics, and I was only allowed 2 extra saves per level. I got pretty far, but by the time I got to Hephaestus I couldn’t handle it. That level single-handedly destroyed my body, and mind.
This is might be a bit long and I hope you see this, but I have some stuff I want to say for the video: - You mentioned a few times the, “Only kill a Handyman by only shooting him in the heart” challenge, but that’s actually a separate achievement for the base game. It’s not in any of the 60 challenges for CitC. - When you talked about having to kill a Handyman with a tesla coil, some of the challenges are worded certain ways so they have some flexibility for completing the challenge. For example, the strategy for the tesla coil challenge would be to get a Hail Fire and get his health low, then use the pistol and shoot him until you don’t see any red, and then run around the tesla coil till it kills him. One more thing I wanted to mention was that I actually have gotten all 60 blue ribbons on Switch almost twice now. Since my game was messed up at some point I had to delete the save data and redo this again and I have like 3 or 4 ribbons left I need to get. Also, I don’t know if it’s just on the Switch leaderboards or not, but for the leaderboard for your total score and not just a certain level, I am currently in 8th place globally. share.icloud.com/photos/088_Op42LunIvUsLOcvQ680wA
The only game that I managed to get a Platinum trophy was 3D Dot Game Heroes, a PS3 exclusive game that it's an homage to the early Zelda and Dragon Quest games on the NES. It wasn't an easy task as there were some achievements that take a LONG time and/or effort like beating the entire game without dying and even being hurt, visiting EVERY area (including caves and houses) of the game which wasn't easy to track due to how big the locations were, farming a looooooot of money to get many swords, and so on. It took me 8 entire months to get them all, but I am so happy I managed to get all the achievement of the game.
I enjoyed the Protector Trials in B2, I still have a few I need to earn max points possible. I still need to do the time challenge on the Bioshock bonus missions.
I've 100% the all the achievements for all bioshock games multiple times, with this achievement I was like yeah I think I'll download someone's save file. Ain't nobody got time for that!
Yeah, I have this. It's a nightmare and it's very buggy. You can both achieve, and fail to achieve challenges due to absolutely nothing you've done. I only managed to finish it with a walkthrough. I also hit a major driver bug which meant the challenge would lock up which made finishing it impossible for quite a while.
OMG YES THIS ACHIEVEMENT WAS HELL BUT I GOT IT. I played the game again 3 years after ragequitting in 2019 and miraculously got it. Some challenges were so outrageously stupid or legitimately broken
Woah, on Steam, actually 1.2% of players have Blue Ribbon Champ. I unlocked it on 11 Oct, 2016 @ 7:07pm. Ironic because I am missing one last hidden achievement (which is for 1998 mode I think, maybe I'll bother with that one one day to finish getting 100%, there are 80 achievements on Steam) I don't really remember why I got so fixated on doing the ribbons though because I only remember the hours of swearing and raging for the most part...but finally getting it felt good. LoL I didn't bother with most achievements in the other BioShocks but BioShock 2 Multiplayer has some real pain in the ass ones. (mostly due to barely anyone playing, quite some of them you literally can't obtain without other players)
Yep the blue ribbon challenge achievement and complete 1999 mode without using any vending machine shops are going to be a big pain but can still collect infusion and gear
I’ve gotten this achievement and the rest in the other Bioshock games, It’s a good thing that you keep the blue ribbons and it doesn’t forfeit them when you restart a round that you failed trying to get one.
I got the Blue Ribbon challenges. I did it by cheating. I did the exploit when you delete your safe file. For me I'm probably saying the hardest ones are probably the Online trophies and Achievements for bioshock 2. You're hot back then And the probably gonna be impossible today.
If you die and have to restart undertow is your best friend. Grab and throw off the map. Also since you'll be doing this a lot you'll be able to upgrade everything to max and lastly for those pesky ones always buy a revive before going in. The one I hated the most was the possessed blip that had to kill 2 people, that's pure luck. Killing enemies becomes muscle memory at some point lol good luck you can do it!
Hi Erik, I know I haven't been in touch recently and I'm sorry, but first of all, I'd like to say. You have gotten SO MUCH BETTER since when you started this youtube thing, like wow! Second, of I hope you are doing a lot better in terms of health. Thirdly and finally you are right these are the worst trophies ever.
They could have made the DLC so much better if they just added an option to be able to restart the current wave to redo the blue ribbon cause honestly going back through it again especially the later ones just to get given a fail for something you didn't even do was just a nightmare
Just out of curiosity... as I haven't put much time into CITC, but dabbled a little, but I was wondering if you were to complete the first 4 blue ribbon challenges in an arena, but fail the 5th one, then return to the hub, when you attempt another run will you have to complete those first 4 challenges again, or are they permanently marked as completed and you can progress through those first 4 challenges in whatever fashion you see fit each run you attempt, til you complete the other challenges?
Once you complete a challenge, as long as you manually save your progress using the counter by the vending machines, finish all the waves, or exit through the gate after doing the challenges you want to attempt, the ones you did complete will be permanently saved. Side note - if you’re playing the 360 version, do not play it in backwards compatible mode (Xbox One or Series console) as it will not consistently save your progress and you’ll have to start all over.
I don't know about you but the worst BioShock achievement for me was high score in Minerva's Den, where you had to score 9999 in one game of spitfire, it was more difficult then fighting Fontain.
this is the most crooked achievement that only emphasizes how incomplete the game is, when you try to pass these tests, you quickly realize that all the combos or killing mechanics are unbalanced and the enemies are too fast and accurate. Here is an example of a hypnotist, it is obvious that you need to first damage the enemy and then throw a hypnosis on the patriot, but who the hell needs hypnosis for 3 seconds in games?????? the same with jumps from the hook, when some block does not allow you to point the camera where you need it
It's safe to say that I'm crazy enough for bioshock in general, so yes i have the achievement and probably will have any stupid achievements may and will be released in any bioshock game in the future. x _ x
It's actually a lot easier to get it on the PC. 1.3% of the playerbase has gotten it. That's 6 times the PlayStation number. I've gotten it just yesterday, and it really isn't THAT hard, 90% challenges can be done in two to three runs, but there are some that are just damn near impossible. If you are in for it, please, look it up before trying anything. You HAVE to know how deep the level of hell you're going to descend to is! If you are still in for it, good luck then, and I must say, the feeling in the end is worth it! 😊
🤮 gave up on those, doing something over and over isn't rewarding or fun anymore. Shame because I really enjoyed dishonored. I'm glad the 2nd one doesn't have trials.
This achievement took me 12 hours over 2-3 days could of probably done it sooner but I wanted to do all the ribbons in one map first in the end it was best to play all maps through to get all infusions so I was as strong as possible then did it in no time
I got this achievement twice actually, for Xbox and playstation, and I can say with absolute guarantee that I should not have done that, most of it took some patience but the 2 rounds were you gotta kill the enemies while distracted (you know which ones) took me over 4 hours total, so don't be like me
I stopped at 48/60 - having to restart at wave 1 makes it a genuine waste of a person's life. Even if you just spent 20 minutes on it a day that's over two hours in a week - you could commit that to learning a language or instrument for example - or even pursuing more interesting achievements.
Bro, wanna know something goofy? I got the trophy without getting all blue ribbons. I'm missing one ribbon, the one where you need to kill enemies with the fireman's explosion. Idk how i got the trophy with missing that one single ribbon :0
well, it's obvious that everyone wants to do it gradually. but you have to go through at least one cycle just to level up, and anyway it gives almost nothing, but you don't die that fast, the difficulty is locked on high, and the mechanics unwind me in two hits , some stupid monkey with a grenade launcher just stands around and spams rockets I die and I still need to complete something there from the beginning, it's a unfinished game, but I can complete it, I'm somewhere in the middle now. I don't have a big grudge, but it's just boring and not interesting, and the main thing is that it shows all the pitfalls of the original game, which I paid attention to, but now they're getting worse.
I have this achievement haha. To be honest I have 100% completion across all bioshock games. Yes it is a grind haha. I believe my total playtime in Infinite is just under 60 hours? Honestly, i've got many games that have taken me well over 100 hours for 100% so this isn't terrible, but it is definitely rage inducing with how stupid/buggy some of the challenges can be
I can't find a straight answer on how the Blue Ribbon trophy works. Do you have to get them all in a single playthrough for that arena? Or do you just playthrough again and they roll over from last time so you only need to get the ones you missed??? I played the first arena last night and got only 7 of the 15 IIRC. It took a ridiculous number of tries just to complete the last round let alone get the challenge, particularly as one of the Handymen kept spawn killing me 😂 My view of Trophies is they should be hard/challenging, but not ridiculously so. I will avoid cheating and try my best to legit complete. But my OCD overrules my morals given enough frustration 🤔
You can keep going over and over. Just make sure if you fail/die and you go back to the lobby, you save and try again. You don't have to worry about obtaining the ribbons you've already collected.
@@TheBioshockHub thanks for the reply, that's what I thought. This seems difficult enough as it is, it was frustrating enough playing through just getting the easier ones let alone having to get every one on the same playthrough 😁😁😁 Some guides make it sound like that is the case though, as they aren't very clear...
@@TheBioshockHub the last "room" has crashed now 3 times in the last couple of days when I've been 10+ challenges in, causing me to lose ribbons. Absolutely ridiculous! If you come out part way through the challenges is there a way to save progress?
I know how hard getting achievements is I completed the first 2 games without daying and it took 2 tries each and it took allot of time maybe you should try it on one of your videos.
Some say there is a glitch that if you finished all other Citc achievement then pass the Buried at Sea part 2 game play, this trophy will pop up, anyone try that before?
From what I heard it's get all the trophies in the main game, play CiTC amd get all but the ribbon trophy, get all the trophies in beyond the sea ep1 and then all the trophies in beyond the sea ep 2. I REALLY HOPE this works for xbox users lol.
I have everything except this one. I hsve almost all if em just not tge "kill lady colmstoch before she spawns enemies" h-how!? I've used sniper headshots only I've used bazooka. Just not enough damage. Also winning by only friendly fire. They keep jumping in tge void and you fail. It's not fair
there is a trick, if you disintegrate every corpse before triggering her, then she can't spawn anything at all (since her mechanic is resurrecting them but if there is nothing to resurrect she is easy)
Speaking as someone who loves Clash in the Clouds (even more so than Burial at Sea), I find the Blue Ribbons to be fun, but a few of them (especially those in Emporia) are brutal. I don't think I will ever get the achievement. That being said, I will thank this DLC, and its challenges, for encouraging new tactics that I used in the base game.
Could not have put it better, Eric please no. "Put the challenge down, walk away from the challenge". Take care when are you doing a walk through for another game?
I spent almost 2 straight weeks during quarantine doing just this achievement. I had lost my sanity by the end. The worst part is that you'll fail a challenge for some weird reason that may not even be your fault. It can be so brutal
Thank you for covering this, its time the BioShock community realized the struggle that this achievement is!
You're welcome
It would be easier to finance, construct and populate a working Columbia in real life than it is getting this trophy.
I’ve done this achievement twice. Once on the original release and on the collector’s addition, it just takes time, patience, a little luck and a good walkthrough or two.

well, it's obvious that everyone wants to do it gradually. but you have to go through at least one cycle just to level up, and anyway it gives almost nothing, but you don't die that fast, the difficulty is locked on high, and the mechanics unwind me in two hits , some stupid monkey with a grenade launcher just stands around and spams rockets I die and I still need to complete something there from the beginning, it's a unfinished game, but I can complete it, I'm somewhere in the middle now.
Honestly, i've got many games that have taken me well over 100 hours for 100% so this isn't terrible, but it is definitely rage inducing with how stupid/buggy some of the challenges can be
I commend you on it, I really do.
Bioshockhub, would you kindly get every blue ribbon in Clash in the Clouds?
Possibly... possibly.
I never played this DLC and I don't think I want you to play it too. This one sounds really hard to play and to finish.
Hey, might be entertaining to watch lol.
@@TheBioshockHub lol yeah
I can't find a straight answer on how the Blue Ribbon trophy works. Do you have to get them all in a single playthrough for that arena? Or do you just playthrough again and they roll over from last time so you only need to get the ones you missed???
I played the first arena last night and got only 7 of the 15 IIRC. It took a ridiculous number of tries just to complete the last round let alone get the challenge, particularly as one of the Handymen kept spawn killing me 😂
My view of Trophies is they should be hard/challenging, but not ridiculously so.
This seems difficult enough as it is, it was frustrating enough playing through just getting the easier ones let alone having to get every one on the same playthrough 😁😁😁
Some guides make it sound like that is the case though, as they aren't very clear...
Could definitely do that for a Stream I think.
Good video erik.
Thank you
Scavenger hunt is us close. But this indeed is the worst achievement.
At least you can get the one for 1999 Mode and the Dollar Bill machine done in one playthrough
@@TheBioshockHub very true
That’s why go PlayStation. They usually separate the platinum from dlc
I only have two left and i still got the Achievement 😅 bug?
Ooh maybe the ps trophy glitch works on xbox too lol
I dropped a like in the hopes that you'll have to get the achievement one day. :D
I need to give it another chance, it's just so damn frustrating lol.
Idk why I even bothered getting the gaurdian angel achievement but I did
I applaud you my friend.
It took 8 hours

@@TheBioshockHub I'm too dedicated for my own good
Successfully got every blue ribbon and no achievement popped, stuck at 98% and I’m not the only one 😑 Anybody know what causes this?
Blue Ribbon is almost impossible
Epic
Ok I’ll give you all the likes you want but please don’t put your self through that lol
Could not have put it better, Eric please no. "Put the challenge down, walk away from the challenge". Take care when are you doing a walk through for another game?
Not a difficult achievement at all. Spent 2 evenings doing it
Hi Erik
Hello!
I honestly miss the days of grinding BioShock 2 Multiplayer back in 2010! It took me absolutely ages to get to reincarnation! 😄🤙🏼
I actually enjoyed doing this since I loved infinite's combat so much
First
Well hello there.
Oh come on, thats just an achievement. Its meant to be time consuming, only for hardcore players. You also die several times there without failing.
I'll do you one better. To me, this is in the top 5 worst achievements EVER, not just in the Bioshock series.
Oh boy, that would take me some time to do research.
