congrats on baby goats looks like your going to need a milking stand or two so scott does not have to hold them all the time . bear is such a lovely playful lad
That's the plan! I just need the weather to warm up and snow to clear so we can build the goat barn. The plan was to do it right after the coop, but the weather turned before we could. I just don't have room for it in this barn. I can't wait to start building the new goat barn!
Quick question about goats. Im hearing a lot that if a goat is a month or so away from giving birth that doing an ultrasound wont confirm if a goat is pregnant?. That literally makes no sense to me. How would the ultrasound look the same as a goat who isnt pregnant?.
Great question. No, that is not correct. You can definitely see if a goat is pregnant approximately one month after breeding and for the remainder of the pregnancy. What you can’t see is how many babies are in there because they are too big. The best time to ultrasound is one month after breeding for the best picture in terms of the number of babies. Sorry if I was unclear in our video and caused any confusion. I hope that clears it up. 😊
@@BarnBootsandCountryRoots don't worry! It wasn't your video. Ppl in comment section on daybyday are saying it's too late for Laura to confirm with an ultrasound to see if her goats pregnant. Just a lot of misinformation going around but thank for taking the time to answer my question.
@coffeeandhorses9724 Oh, ok. Good, I thought I said something confusing in my video. For Laura, it isn’t that it would be too late to see if the goats are pregnant by ultrasound, but at only a month or so out, there wouldn’t be much point in doing an ultrasound now because the baby or babies would be too big to accurately date the gestation or tell how many are in there. Maybe that is what the viewers were meaning to say and just didn’t get it across the way they intended?
@BarnBootsandCountryRoots it would still be good to at least know how many are pregnant. And maybe a check up from the vet. Really confused as to why she would not want a vet involved especially when she has know since July she wanted all of them pregnant. You'd think having no experience in this that she would want as much info and help from vet as possible.
They've definitely been seen by a vet, they just didn't have the ultrasound done. The ultrasound machine isn't always available when a vet comes out because another vet may be using it on their call, and emergencies come up so it may be needed. We were just fortunate it was available for our appointment.
I love that you have the vet out to give their vaccines, and to do the fecal check. And I am so excited to see the ultrasounds!!
I know right. I love how jenn does things properly and responsibility.
Yes because they're responsible pet owners that care about the health of their animals. Love to see it.
Would like to be one of their pets!
Bear is so very handsome!! Happy for your pregnant goats!! My siblings and I enjoyed tobogganing near, our home in Minnesota, in the 1950s!!!!
