    Great job Darko to stress that the neutral sharpness on these TV's is indeed 10 ( and not 0 as other youtubers were insisting on ). My eyes are thanking you!

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  2 года назад +1

      Yes, this neutral sharpness that is not 0 was highlighted back in 2015 by Joel Silver when I was going to the ISF certification. So that's why I always check on pattern what the correct value is. Still, I always encourage people to try different values, especially for lower resolution content to benefit from the advanced picture processors in modern TVs.

    Want to buy the LG A1 for my bedroom, watching movies and series but also play in some Playstation 5 when FIFA 22 will soon be released. I will buy the C1 or B1 77 inch when the price comes down. But for now the A1 will do especially since fifa is locked to 60 fps. My question is, Will these settings work on the A1 as well?

I just want to get the TV and movie watching superb for now, as a lot of the settings I’ve tried with these types of recommended videos come off a bit dark to me, but I’m coming from a nice bright Samsung. I guess what I really want is to be able to find a setting, dial it in and “set it and forget it” and not have to constantly be changing picture modes etc. My Sony X800H seems to be a lot more friendly when using the settings menu..

    @TV Calibration with Darko, I am having some issues when playing games on PS 5 with LG C1. Only during cutscenes I notice blurry movement of characters and I am not sure if this is problem of the tv or game itself. I am not sure if there is any solution to this and I am forced to play game on standard mode. How do I have smooth motion for these games? OLED motion pro dims the screen a lot. What would you suggest?

    Want to use your settings for LG OLED B1, connected to a PS5 and Apple TV 4k. At the moment I really do not know which of your settings - SDR or HDR - I have to buy. I want to get the best out of it. Some of the streaming services offer tv shows in HDR, some are SDR. Do I have to switch each time? Is there a possibility to create 2 new profiles, one for SDR and one for HDR, without changing settings on the existing profiles?

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  3 года назад

      Hi! For the same input, TV will switch automatically to SDR or HDR mode depending on the signal. So you only need to adjust picture mode once for each input and TV will stay in that mode (for example Filmmaker mode). The exception is Game picture mode which can be triggered automatically when TV detects a game (ALLM support). So if you have PS5 on HDMI1 and you select Filmmaker mode (or other you prefer) for SDR and HDR and you also adjust SDR and HDR Game mode as I explain in my documents, then you won’t need to visit picture modes - TV will do this automatically. Hope this helps :)

    Hi!
    Thank you for a great video! It helps me alot to understand my tv.
    But the strange thing is that standard looks like it still have a better picture. It is clearer and sharper.
    Filmmaker mode for exemple is more ”yellow/dark and not sharp at all.
    What do you think I'm doing wrong, or we just talking about taste?
    Really need help, has an oled A1.
    Best regards

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  2 года назад +3

      Hi! Yes, the perception of Standard and similar modes is like that because of brighter image due to increased amount of blue component and because of increased sharpness. Filmmaker and similar modes display faithful image to the original source, so similar what you will see in a movie theater. I would advise that you try to get used to this yellow/warm image (it takes some time but it is worth it) and adjust OLED light (and gamma if necessary) to make the image brighter. Related to Sharpness, you are free to adjust the Sharpness control to the level you want.
      Related to warmth of the image, here is the explanation: ruclips.net/video/-JEFu2M2tt8/видео.html

    Thank you for your work! I have the LG 55 OLED A1. I bought it with calibration from the dealer and the settings are quite similar to yours! However when reproducing film or tv series I notice some dynamic scenes are not fluid. Especially when the camera is moving from top to the bottom of the screen (f.I. Panoramic view moving from the sky to a city or land). The static images are ok! I did some tests like Burn-in, DSE and vertical banding. Vertical banding acceptable, no burn-in. DSE test shows that the the images are not fluid. I have 60Hz TV and I cannot manage Image Blur. Do you know how to solve this problem? Or is a problem of my panel? Thank you in advance!

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  2 года назад +1

      Hi Sam! If I understand correctly, by "not fluid" image you mean that there are variations of brightness that you see when camera pans across the uniform surface? This seems to be the issue with the panel itself and cannot be fixed (not even if you had Blur reduction option). Perhaps you could make a video and share it here so that I see what exactly you are concerned with? Thanks!

    1) Why colour gamut have to be in auto detect mode? I read that it works only when you will connect tv with PC, otherwise TV shows his full potential on that 2nd option - i have it translated to minw language as "local"
    2) screen aspect ratio - you have 16:9, i can see on mine tv "original". I usually watch netflix and other streaming platform movies. What should i use?

    Great video, tnx!
    I have a question about LG C1 picture modes (when using TV as a monitor).
    Now I was wondering when you change your HDMI input name to PC (in order to get low input lag and 120hz, chroma 4:4:4 or RGB). Can you then also change the picture mode?
    At the moment I have a Samsung QLED. There you also have to change your input name to "PC" in order the TV to recognize your computer and to play with low input lag, 120Hz etc. When applied, you can't change the picture mode. It stays as a "standard" picture mode.I found a workaround. After connecting PC to TV, change the input name from "PC" to "Bluray player" and then you can change picture mode to "Movie", which has better picture settings (colors, contrast etc.), you will sacrifice a little bit of input lag. But it is barely noticeable.
    So I was wondering is there also a similar workaround with LG OLED-s? can you also change the picture setting to a better one, when using TV as monitor or are you locked to the "standard picture" mode ?

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  2 года назад +1

      Hey Kristjan, to answer your question I've connected my laptop via HDMI cable to LG C9 OLED TV, changed input name to PC and confirmed that I got full color resolution. Then I opened picture modes and noticed that all are listed - from Game to Expert. So the answer to your question is yes - you can choose more accurate picture mode in PC mode on LG OLED TVs.

    Question I'm on LG oled I love watching movies in dolby vision cinema home. I got the oled light at 100. I noticed something the other night tho. I moved the color from 50 to 100 and it looked better!!! Do you recommend keeping the color part at 100? Or keep it around 50?

    i just got my LG B last night and noticed something that REALLY bothered me. i was watching in a very dark room and the brightness of the subtitles were WAY yo bright and made the whole experience very poor. how can i change this? I love watching movies/series in the dark but the brightness of the subtitles makes dark scenes unwatchable. Would greatly appreciate some advice on this

      Hey Rich - many video on demand apps allow you to change subtitles color in the Settings. For Netflix you need to login to their website to change subtitles... Hope this helps.

    I turned off eco mode on C1. Now i don't see the " Eco mode " option in support section of settings or as a available option in Picture mode setting. How can I enable the eco setting back on ?

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  2 года назад

      That's very strange - have you updated the software in the meantime? Maybe this option was moved to another menu. If this won't help, perhaps try switching to Eco picture mode or doing a full factory reset.

      When looking at the test patterns, this is not the case. It takes some time for your eyes to adapt to it since you had and LCD TV with elevated blacks..
