iOS 18 is the first update where I really feel they’ve drawn a line between their devices. 14PM isn’t even old but it’s like they’ve completely forgotten about it.

It’s the same as any new consumer tech. After two cycles later there can be drastic jumps in either software or hardware. Not every new feature will always be stable or capable for previous models. has done well supporting older devices in the past and will continue to. How much and how often do Microsoft users have to pay for that software license? And naturally system stability is a big deal for all involved.
And if you look at the improvements to iOS 18, and 18.1 for the 14 PM there is still lots to love about the update. Nobody likes it when they can’t play with the same toys others can, but it’s a fact of life in smartphones and consumer electronics. Otherwise nobody would ever have a reason to upgrade.
in my experience, it doesnt read out GPT responses, and asking Siri to read out aloud doesnt work either. Good news is if you follow up a GPT response with another question, it will continue responding with GPT answers.
This is an incredible tool for people blind, and low vision like me and part of my community. Thank you for the vid this is gonna be something that I’m gonna love and use probably daily 10:27
My doubt is: Apple intelligence and Siri only work with selected languages, but chat GPT works with several more, how will that work, can i operate chat GPT with apple intelligence in other languages, European Portuguese for example? Thanks
I have an iPhone 16 pro max with beta 18.2 and chatgpt enabled. When I asked Siri "what is the name of my cat?" She replied " sorry I don't understand." However, I was able to get a chat GPT answer with some other random questions.

Sorry but if it can do all that with the sending screenshots to chat gpt then there’s no reason visual intelligence should be locked to only iPhone 16’s. The 15’s have a camera….so dumb. Just throw that feature into the camera app. I don’t need that button.
Seems Apple is trying hard to separate pre-iPhone 15 people to post-iPhone 15 people. The majority of people don't upgrade every year or even every 2 years. 😒 MOST of the new iOS 18 / 18.1 features won't even show up for the older devices.
18.2 did not install properly for me. Most Apple Intelligence features were not available after installation many from 18.1 stopped working. Disappointed with this release.
I’ve learned after almost 10 years of beta testing iOS, just do it. I’ve only had 1 phone all these years and can’t recall a single issue that rose to the occasion of making me regret having downloaded the beta. And while I’m no developer, I’m fairly certain that the critical bugs don’t make it far out enough to affect you or I. Happy beta testing 😀
@@PrestoMoto02 In all my years can’t think of an instance where any of my apps were unavailable for use. Slow response times may occur sure, it is beta software so thats par for the course.
What I find hard to understand is why lower-end Android phones are getting at least some version of Google’s Gemini, yet iPhones below the 16 aren’t seeing anything similar. It feels like Apple might be subtly pushing the idea that without their latest AI features, older models are already outdated, which could subconsciously encourage people to upgrade. While this isn’t about slowing down phones, it seems like a new form of planned obsolescence by making users feel their devices are behind the curve.
@@Milo_the_chonk Apple Intelligence requires 8GB. Apple is very stingy with the memory. Even today's models will not have enough memory in three years for further Apple Intelligence updates.

@@gman7722 yes it can, but thr initial review for apple intelligence is pretty bad tbh. So please keep your hopes low until you try it yourself

I’m hearing this beta isn’t that stable. Just a heads up. I want to try it but too afraid to put it on my daily driver yet.

There is, you can disable “confirm ChatGPT requests” and then it will just use ChatGPT straight away 2:16
