What the world needs
Christopher, well said. This content would go a long way toward bringing a sense of peace and calm the world over, amen?
Amen 🙏
I don't know if there is any such thing as a perfect performance of any musical work, but this comes as close as I ever hope to hear. Simply cannot get enough of this group. They are in the territory of the sublime.
That first "hosanna in excelsis" on that major 7th gets me every time
Three sopranos singing but it sounds like one voice. Same with the tenors - one voice. The blend is perfect.
Insane isn't it. I think I would prefer to hear almost anything arranged for Voces8 at this point!
How many sing in the heavenly choir? Are they in serried ranks or infinitely far apart? Is there a difference? Can one mind comprehend them all?
Every hair on my body has been standing on end since the first note... that’s crazy!
If it wasn't for your comment I wouldn't have known.
I need to practise.
WOW! This is the first time I've ever heard this with just 8 voices (and an excellent small orchestra) ...Absolutely STUNNING!!! Faure would be proud of this beautiful presentation. Now, I would treasure listening to the 'entire' work. How about it, VOCES8? Feed us more of your musical perfection...please!
At every hearing of this beautiful piece, I come back to the Aldous Huxley quote on the After Silence cover: "After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music..." This is music of and from the soul. Thank you.
Spectacularly beautiful. A perfect tempo, too. Too often this piece drags along like a tortoise trudging through peanut butter. Thank you for sharing this.
Great simile.
A tortoise trudging through peanut butter? Lol greatly put. Have sung this more than once and fortunately every conductor has been even a bit quicker in tempo than this, though this is beautifully done
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus Dominus Deus Sabaoth
pleni sunt coeli et terra gloria tua
hosanna in excelsis.
...
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts
full are the heavens and earth with the glory of you
hosanna in the highest.
The 30 seconds from 2:00 to 2:30 in particular is pure magic
Couldn't agree more.
The overtones from that perfect intonation - fabulous!
Beautiful! It's how I imagine the angels singing to God
The sound is so pure, I would never have guessed it began with two voices !!
Sang this in my high school choir...always loved Faure's Requiem, particularly the Sanctus. Pleased to have found VOCES8 performing this gem!
Sopranos - my goodness... they float like cherubim above the ensemble. Lovely blend from all voices
So, so beautiful. The solo violin is indeed a blessing.
My favourite sopranos ever. what a group of singers it can't get any better - perfection is as far as you can go.
Bravo, this 1889 version is my favorite. you transported me
I am enchanted by the clear and transparent tone. Thank you so much!
Highest possible quality in every respect (at least for me). Voces8: probably the best choir ensemble of the present among the many very, very good ensembles …
Can one ever get enough of Voces8? Methinks not :-)
To think we have this beautiful music and the world wants hip/hop/rap !
@@garyzw ew!!! Ain't nobody got time for hip-hop :-) Give me THIS any day!
Never
Zutiefst berührend, wunderschön musiziert und gesungen, Engelsmusik...!
Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful!! ♥️🙏🏻🥰
So beautiful! Are you sure that you are real humans and not angels performing this piece? Effortlessly besides the added difficulty of social distancing during the performance.
And thank you to the musicians for attributing to and not overshadowing the singing voices. Well done everyone!
Supremely moving. Thanks especially for featuring the violin, which, though I have sung the Requiem many times, I had never fully appreciated before. And, of course, as always, vocal perfection!!
Can you say "Perfection"?
@@trishjones150 Yes!
Voller homogener Klang, so zart und voller Transparenz! Genial
SUBLIME BEAUTY
Gorgeous singing of this great piece!
So beautiful.
I love this piece and have played it many times. This was a beautiful and absolutely pristine performance with VOCES8 being a perfect match for the sparse orchestration!
This grips the soul.So beautiful .
How beautifully spacious this is. There is so much ‘light’ in contrast to the audio ‘mush’ sometimes heard. The harp sets a great tempo and the antiphonal exchanges between the male and female voices is so fresh and spatially delightful.
I WANT the entire Requiem, please.
YESSS!
That would be amazing! My favorite piece by my favorite group :D
please
This is the entire Requiem, my favourite: ruclips.net/video/08GyEGqBC70/видео.html
@@staffanolofsson8201 This is the complete Fauré Requiem performance with my orchestra the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Dutch Radio Choir.
Can you please do the complete Requiem?! Your voices are so perfect and it's one of my favorite piece for Choir and Orchestra
OMG - I LOVE THIS - the piece, the group - Have been listening to the Faure Requiem since '71 - this is simply glorious
Absolutely gorgeous!
Sublime!
Exquisite in every imaginable way
spectacular and sublime at the same time!
Just the perfectly bronze golden reddish everlasting sunrise mood that could be imagined around God‘s throne where those cherubim proclaim his holiness… such music makes me believe…😊
Every time I’m listening to this piece I am exitedly looking forward to the Hosanna…. and her at 2:00… oh my! I mean, they are four guys only… ❤ sheer splendour and glory and might in their voices
This is absolutely beautiful. My God 🙏 thanks alot and God bless. At the Hosanna even more breath taking.
I too compose Music and looking for who could perform them incase VOCES8 want to do I will be over whelmingly happy. May the good Lord continue blessing y'all.
I don’t have the words to describe the beauty of this, sublime & wow wow & wow again...
Have sung/performed Faures Requiem many times. One of my favorite pieces of music. Beautifully done.
Wondering who the 20 dislikers are.... Must be members of a club of people who don't like Fauré anyway. Heavenly performed, this. 💖
This took my breath away, so beautiful! Thank you thank you thank you!
This is what we all wish to sound like on this piece. Near perfection. Thanks to all.
Absolutely beautiful. I couldn't imagine how this small number of singers could perform the Sanctus.
I'll never forget the first time I heard a live performance of this work at the St. Thomas Church on 5th Ave in NYC.
Thank you so much. 🤗
Wonderful. The men's voices at 2.01, wow!!
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you 🙏
I like it. So, I will listen it on repeat over and over again.
Perfection at its finest. Thank you for this lovely gift.
Phenomenally smooth and exquisite!
Viola power!
Wunderbar❤️
Most wonderful performance. The last time I had the opportunity to sing this beautiful music was for the funeral of the mother of my parish priest. He performed the the Mass with such wonderful composure. I don’t think I could have been quite in control of my faculties as he was.
Дуже дякую! Молодці!
Beautiful.
My university chamber choir had the pleasure of performing the entire requiem at Carnegie Hall in NYC in 2019
This is so beautiful and yet so powerful!!!! Thank you so much ❤️✝️
Ok the violinist was really good, such pristine tone
Glad you agree!!
Very nice and thank you to all who did not give up on making a performance work.
Love the melodic interplay between the Soprano, Tenor & Bass and the Harp. The addition of the high solo Violin using harmonics is simply a masterstroke of orchestration. Just goes to show one doesn't need the orchestra the size of Hector Berlioz to make your musical statement! Having said that the Berlioz Sanctus is equally beautiful.
Truly did not want it to come to an end. Superb rendition of my very favorite choral work. Now onwards to another listen. Brilliant as always VOCES8!
Nice may God bless you all
Amazing
Perfection
To jest to, co potraficie robić najlepiej. Gratuluję. Wspaniale. PL
Lovely. Perfect fit for Andrea's voice. I hope you have a chance to record it with the organ sometime. The contrast with the voices would be sublime.
Angels soprano! Great performance....
gorgeous
Muchas gracias.
What a thrilling performance! The entrance at 2:03 gave me chills. You have honored this great music. Thank you!
Wonderful as always
Si beau et delicat
Sooooo beautiful
Exquisite.
Magnificent
Stunning
O canto dos anjos.
Well done Barnaby
Just WOW!
Whoever “thumbs-downed” this must just have bad speakers/headphones....
You didn't know Satan was on the internet?! 😂
Hateful people have little of value to offer. Thumbs down is the max they can do. Sad little lives they lead. I will enjoy the music
Cement-filled ears, methinks.
Amém! Glory of God.
🌸🌸🌸
Lovely! At times I felt like the mixing favored the instruments over the voices, but this is one of the pieces from Requiem that is harder to balance.
Heavenly !
Heaven on earth....
Sublime
bruh i play this while taking a shit in toilet and im in tears. superb vocal
Beautiful voices. I do not understand why "scooping" is permitted. Example: .58 sec DO...minus. Notes must be on point and not adding adding an extra tone sliding INTO the note. It happens frequently in the Soprano section. IMHO.
Wow.
Is this performance available on any of your digital albums?
🌼🌸🌺💜🌺🌸🌼
Sorry. lost that laughing about you remembering my love of mosquitos...
I do love Fauré's songs, that are so beautiful and so "french". "Au bord de l'eau", "en sourdine", even "Green" ! But I just cannot listen to his Requiem, i can't, even if it's sung beautifully like by Voces8. It's like Ravel's Boléro.
I feel a strange need to go play Civilization right now...
I should add that the violin soloist is absolutely brilliant. Too bad they didn't credit him!
Thank you ♥️ 👏 wonderful 🥰
Holy holy holy is the Lord God Almighty 🌈🙏🏼🌟 but so full of love - his has humbled himself to be a babe in a manger, because HE loves us!
Also very fast, but... Very nice playing of solo violinist 👏
Andrea and Eleonore are perfekt together.
Faure + VOCES8.....what else?
