Innovative minds like yours Mr. Gallien, drove me to leave my Southern German hometown and move to Silicon Valley. I moved south from Cupertino to Gilroy because of the crazy real estate market. You are an inspiration, not just because you never moved your production out of California to overseas to make a buck more or two using cheap labor. You are part of Silicon Valley history. I wish you and your team all the best. My husband and I enjoyed the factory tour this week, and I love my GK Legacy 210 amp. I know it will make me enjoy and improve my bass playing during many years to come.
For people too impatient to watch a whole video, I can sum up the GK history quite quickly. I must say that there is a spoiler alert. GK History Timeline: 1. Started off awesome and innovating. 2. Decades later, still awesome and innovative. 3. Present day, still awesome, still innovating. 4. Spoiler: Decades from now, will still be innovating and awesome. You're welcome! 😉
The 250 ML guitar amp is a classic piece of gear that needs reconsidering or perhaps, reissuing. Given the popularity of 80's retro stylings, from Swedish 80's style hard rock bands, to Synthwave bands that have heavily chorused airy guitar sounds, I think a reissue would sell well!
I bought a new GK 700RB in 2008 to use as a backup to an SVT head. The SVT needed a six pack of 6L6 tubes every time I turned around it seemed. plus it weighed a ton and everybody ran away from me when it was time to load out. The last time the SVT went south I never used it again. Last 5 have been on a GK MB500, which is fantastic and fits in the front pouch of my bass gig bag. I leave all my heavier and in some cases SVT heavier cabs in my storage and use a GK 2x12 NEO... Anyway - Thank you Bob and Forrest.
Love my GK 500! It's loud but not harsh. It has wonderful lows, but not muddy. Mids and Hi Mids for days, if that's your thang. Happiness is playing my P-Bass with flatwounds through my GK. It just gets that tone that I love. I believe that bass has it's own frequency and should be felt more than heard. The only rig that gives me MY SOUND is a GK!
On my Line 6 POD Go, my favorite amp sim will always be the GK 800RB. I’ve tweaked it to sound more akin to a modern Legacy, too. The GK sound is the main sound in my head. Gonna try the combos sometime next year.
Let’s also add to any jazzbo’s out there that an original 400RB makes a wonderful jazz guitar amp. Any good humbucker style guitar like a Les Paul, ES335 etc through some good 12’s and that head is killer! Turn the gain up a little and you’re in blues territory.
"Upgrading" the RB and Fusion 550 series? What kind of power section are we talking about? How will it compare with the original rb's analog power amp and fusion 550 six stage tube preamp? I love my 700 rbii and 1001rbii !
Question , I’d like to combine neo 410 cab with 800 RB , is it safe to push the cabinet with full range power or would it somehow affect the efficiency of 1000 watts speakers ? In other words is it safe to underpower that cab with 800RB
Have an old 80s GK 400RB head which I’ve owned since I was 18. It’s older than me. Sounds amazing. Built like an absolute tank. Is it possible that a 200 watt head back in 80 is the equivalent of a 300-400 watt amp today. Thanks 😊
I called the company in Stockton I told a technician what was going on he said go to the nearest UPS and they'll ship it to us and will totally reconstruct everything they changed the PC boards all the plugs and wires they said it was a soldering problem that particular silver Solder what's made in Australia I went to the factory to pick it up and Robert was there the owner he apologized and gave me covers for my cabinets more installation for my cabinets and took me in the back and had my amp tested out I was shocked to see the amp builder's were latino woman they build all the apps right there in Stockton Robert lives 10 miles from me he's a cool dude..
I bought a Backline 100 guitar amp / cabinet combo back around 1992-93. I still use it regularly and have never had any issues. I really wish that I had bought a GK 112T cabinet back when I could get one. I search occasionally on the web. Why did the company decide to move forward with only bass equipment?
Speaking of longevity. I still have the GMT (early GK) 600B that I bought in '75. Sounds as good as the day I bought it & has never needed any repairs. Some pots & sliders got scratchy...easy fix.
Gallien Krueger, Can you make a smaller version of the GMT226A to get those Carlos Santana tones using surface mount components or it won't sound the same using surface mount components? It would be real nice to bring back the GMT226A in an updated upgraded version to nail those Carlos Santana tones from 1968-1970. I hope Bob Gallien will do this soon or those tones will be lost because its very rare to find a working GMT226A amplifier.
Ok...what ever happened to the Backline 100 guitar head that Guitar Player reviewed back in the early 90's ???? It was in a big long review with 20 other big tube amp heads, and all the reviewers really liked it. But it seemed like it never took off. I saw 1 combo version used in a store ... once, a long time ago.
For whatever reason, I never really took GK very seriously among the heavy hitters of the industry. It’s become quite clear that they are now far in the forefront of innovation.

Long live the mighty 250 ML. The Jewel of the ‘80s

Wow!! Awesome!! played GK bass gear and LOVED IT! Cheers!

My GK 400RB IV amp and my 4 ohm CX410 cabinet are so awesome and sound great! Great sound for my double bass.... Gallien-Krueger is the Best!

the RL version better...those little speakers kinda tinny sounding...but through a 4-12 was nice...
Love the Legacy 4x10 at church, and I'm saving up for a 2x12" to take to gigs.

GK 4 life!

Just purchased my first GK product 2 weeks ago; Legacy 800. Replaced my Mesa D-800+ and I’m not looking back. Great job RAG!
I also think about Mesa but is not available in EU. is almost 10 months and still the same opinion?

Yep, it’s a favorite for me.
Just bought my first GK Legacy 800 Combo, can't wait.
Hope you love it!
RB series update sounds amazing. There's something really special about those amps.
Still have both my original 400RB heads and I’ll never sell them. Mr. Gallien has stuck to making his amps in America and for that he has my loyalty.

I love my 700 rbii and 1001rbii !
Those amps were absolute beasts! I'd swear that they're twice the wattage that they say they are.
@@Metalbass1979 The RB's are my favorite. Such POWER!
Wow that was great

You"re good to go with that setup!

GK best tone stack on the planet. I'd love to see the 800RB reissued as it was...hint hint.
Gallien-Krueger RB series is the best!
Just bought a Neo IV cab as an extension to my Mb210!

Would definitely love to see a re-issue of the 250ML!

You should do 1x10 little monster combo that resonates himself do give a deep low end in a tiny small box
Why did you stop making aluminum cabinets?

Who is Krueger?
Rich. Left the company years ago but they retained his name. NOT Freddie!
For a EE in the MW division to leave HP in those days would have been a very big deal.
Please reissue the 250ML and the 2000CPL-the best guitar amps ever made.
If you remember the 60s...you didnt have as much fun as I did...

You just never understood GK
