Did Future Tone always have large shiny spots on the clothing? It just makes it all look like the cloth is made out of plastic. I definitely never noticed it before, but now that I do I just can't stop seeing it.
It doesn't usually, it's just that Future Tone used a toon shader for this preview, I'm guessing either to match Mega Mix or just for a cartoony look! ^^
I don't really like how her hair looks in Future Tone ^-^" I feel like the toon shader on Nintendo Switch makes it more lively. But I understand that other people have their own preferences, I'm just stating my opinion here.
I'll be honest, I thought it would look bad in FT but I actually like it, but this Toon shader looks a little weird at least to me. Sorry for the gramatical mistakes, my first language isn't English
I remember for the longest time people saying this song would be a Switch Exclusive. I'm glad Sega proved them wrong and I'm excited to play this when it releases in the West!
the toon shader on FT just doesn't quite look right ;; while megamix is usually too bright, this shader seems to have the opposite problem... also, the clothes are too shiny and it makes everything look strange and oily
because megamix was MADE for toon shader, so there is no natural light reflecting on the megamix models making it seem “not greasy”, since FT has natural light and a more realistic approach to the shading the clothes have that shine to them
So the difference in loading times change the Scrunchie and Wristbands starting spinning pattern... Interesting? Also I like is more evident the tweaks they made to the toon shader for Mega Mix when you watch it side by side.
Personally, toon shader looks better in Mega 39 but the graphics still look bad (quality is so bad), however the graphics for FT look better. What I mean is, Future Tone wins in quality, while Mega39 wins in presenting the toon shader. I’m general, FT looks SO MUCH better than Mega39. Also, without comparing the FR toon shader to the Mega39 one, it isn’t bad
(I know this comment is old, just wanted to clarify in case someone like me is watching the video just now and decided to read the comments) There's actually no graphics differences in FT and MM besides the toon shader. The PV are rendered in 1080p 60fps in both consoles (In FT it's upscaled to 4k, and the contrary for MM in portable, that goes under 720p 30fps). All the modules are the same, not even a clone of each other but literally the same exact models, and the background are also the same. You can actually mod your Switch to turn off the toon shaders and it looks just how it looks in PS4.
Imo the megamix one is better because the colors are more bright which fit the pv more also in future tone her clothes look more oily (maybe it's just me).
I wouldn't say her outfit look greasy. First thing go to my mind is that her outfit look more plastic. You know the type of plastic that give off light reflection. I fine going with Future Tone version or Mega Mix. Only reason people want Mega Mix is that it make look more cartoon theme like anime.
I was really hopping they didnt go the toonshader route for this and Roki but it also wont matter since im to focused on the flying notes anyways when playing
aaaAaAAaAA aaaAaAAaAA true, i personally don't like the way the arcade games look, so at least the toon shader gives megamix some sort of visual identity more in line with anime-styled games like these. future tone looks too plastic and skin looks oily, but the toon shader helps mask that for me!
Not a fan of FT's art style but it doesn't look bad without the toon shader. I have it on my non-oficial AFT port on PC with the mega39 pack and it looks just like any other module in the game.
future tone’s toon shader just... doesn’t work here. while it is really good for the songs it was used for before (like two faced lovers) but for this one its just bad. this pv is meant to be bright and colorful!
i always preferred megamix to ft, since a lot of the time ft has this black shading that doesn't look great while megamix is bright and colorful, looks more cartoonish and cute. i can appreciate the reflections and textures in ft in songs like rolling girl, but in songs like this and arifureta sekai seifuku it just looks bad and too dark.
Now people are complaining about FT not having the same shade as Mega39s. Can’t you people just be happy about it actually coming on the PS4 and stop complaining about the style of the game
I don't like the toon shader on the switch, it's all white washed and flat. The modules look dead and lifeless in megamix, I'm glad it's using the future tone toon shader.
I am happy but that's not why I turn a blind eye they have to correct the contrast and the lighting in the ps4 version it is important to give your opinion. sometimes they take it into account and fix it sega could do better Having said that, I really enjoyed this dlc
The toon shader throws everything off. I get that the switch is less powerful and that's why they went with the shader, but on the PS4 it.. looks disgusting imo. On Arcade FT, Catch the wave, and other songs don't use the shader at all (in regards to the mega mix songs added to ACFT) so idk why they made it use the shader on the PS4. That's extremely bizarre...
Lol oh my lord! These songs aren't offically in the Arcade version yet...the videos you saw were people who ported those songs in the game on PC since the files of AFT got leaked allowing people to download it and port song packs onto it (like Osu or Stepmania). NOT OFFICIALLY RELEASED BY SEGA! So the official arcade version of Catch the Wave will use these toon shaders. And for the love of pete, ONLY CATCH THE WAVE AND ROKI HAVE TOONSHADERS ON PS4. THE REST OF THE 3D PVS DO NOT!!!!! thank you
@BurstingColors Sega never said it. So many claimed it would be exclusive leading people like you to believe that Sega did say it even though that isn't really the case. It is the theme song for the Switch version but that doesn't make it exclusive to the Switch. Not a single theme song in a Project Diva (or Mirai) game was exclusive to that game and platform.
The toon shader for Megamix looks better for me, FT looks so darker but her eyes are actually prettier in FT
I think the colours are better in megamix's toon shader but it looks soo shiny and that's annoying
On a 4K TV it actually doesn't look that bad tbh.
I agree
PS4 toon shader looks so greasy! makes me appreciate mega mix more
basically FT Toonshader vs Megamix Reshade style. Honestly, the bright colors fit the PV better in Megamix, to me FT looks greasy slapped oil

Unknown 【?!】 bitch look at Romeo and Cinderella on Future tone.
@@oraclescrolls I said "usually", there are other songs in Future Tone that use shaders like this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@ligmaballslol no I meant the clothes are way way too shiny in Future tone in some songs.
@@oraclescrolls Oh, I think I misinterpreted your comment, sorry! But I agree with you, some outfits in Future Tone are too shiny-

Yeah the toonshader definitely improved in Megamix. It made all the toonshader songs look better. Just wish Future Tone had better toon shaders.
I just realized that songs that use 2d objects use the toon shader (interviewer, two faced lovers, catch the wave)
cant forget Oha-Yo-Del!!
And they look better in megamix.
And parts of Suki Kirai
Version 1.11 improves FT version and now it looks more like MegaMix (I guess they fixed the light)
The Catch the Wave module is a bit different in FT, I didn’t saw that...(0:57 - 2:00)
So the difference in loading times change the Scrunchie and Wristbands starting spinning pattern... Interesting?
Also I like is more evident the tweaks they made to the toon shader for Mega Mix when you watch it side by side.
I think another problem is the large amount of shading on the hair but still very little on the skin, totally mismatched
I like future tone toon shader than megamix toon shaders ;*;
We need to give MegaMix an apology like bruh

Makes sense this one looks better in Mega Mix. It WAS designed for it after all.
Imo the megamix one is better because the colors are more bright which fit the pv more also in future tone her clothes look more oily (maybe it's just me).
I stan ps4 tbh, i love the oil😳 and look at how they downgraded shadows in megamix comapared to ps4
@@simplyslow_ I respect your opinion
I want the dlc but I don't have the Japanese version *criez in American*
it'll come soon dont worry

I like Future Tone since the colors are darker, Mega 39 is a bit too bright in my opinion. ^ ^;
The toon shader is better for non room background
I was really hopping they didnt go the toonshader route for this and Roki but it also wont matter since im to focused on the flying notes anyways when playing
they can't change roki, it's a solid video like dreaming chuchu or sand planet rather than a MV
It still doesn’t look good even without the toonshader. This song was built with Megamix’s shading in mind.
why did they put toon shader on future tone :(
Yeah they could've probably made it work better if they didn't use the toon shaders
Me encanta como se ve en los dos pero me gustó más en futuro tome👏🌟🌟👍😃
The shader in PS4 version to shiny, but It's have better illumination and more detail texture
Who poured a bucket of grease on Miku and then tried to wash it off with water cause that's what FT looks like to me.
doesn’t the catch the wave module kinda look bad without toon shader
they're both using the toon shader actually! it's just that MegaMix/Mega39s uses a modified version of it for the switch
yeah but when it isn’t with toon shafer

la diferencia esta en el contraste y la paleta de colores.

I'm glad mega 39s doesn't have crappy toonshaders like project diva future tone
Is it me or is this song not on Future tone? I have both future and colorful sound packs and I don’t have it
It's DLC. You'll have to buy and download it from the PSN store.
It's a new DLC pack that now is worldwide. The Megamix pack.
Future looks too dark to me, I like megamix better, just me?

Future Tone all the way. Love how the satin outfit reflects the light, adding a nice sheen to the occasion. The overall color is deeper too.
