  • The German city of Mannheim is laid out like a chessboard, and they decided to number the streets and blocks using chess terminologies. The streets do not even have names, and only the blocks have codes. Let me show you how this confusing numbering system works.

      oh GAWD do not get me started with their streets. You might as well just say "the fourth house behind the 3rd 7-11 to the right"

    I swear Calgary, Alberta is like this
    My area is all grid like but there are other areas like the newer currie neighborhood that are just branched out random roads

      woah there are streets without names as well? the entire mannheim center has absolutely no name for streets whatsoever, you have to give directions like "turn left around K area south of the center" or something
