Anyone who has read his biography knows he is pushing the team on an insane deadline to be ready for 8/8 at whatever level that means. To those suffering souls, I say THANK YOU!
But... it's a product "launch" - how long was it from CT launch to delivery? remind me again...
When you say "pushing" YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Worker Abuse USED to be illegal in America.
CT was a radical change in car manufacturer. They could have played safe with std steel body and looks. No 48V electrics or steer by wire or wade mode
4 years is normal development for OEM new models.
Model Y was out in 18 months.
If I get to become part of such team any suffering is welcome
@Gr0gansm1th Agreed the delivery event vs actual execution is going to be the real question. What it looks like is just emotional and matters a lot less.
I voted with others with total of 5860 votes for Elon.
Rich man!
Royal Bank of Canada mailed me the ballots this week for two of my four accounts holding Tesla shares. Just voted all according to board recommendation. Expecting to receive the other two next week and vote the same. Please vote, for Elon and yourself and our future.
Agree. I just did today when I got my link in mail.
First time I ever have.
We voted same a you, a deal is a deal 👍🏼
Thanks for encouraging me to vote in our stockholders meeting. I voted and am happy I did so. I voted as recommended and am pleased to have read carefully each of the twelve points. I was happy also to see Elon Musk getting the pay he deserves and was promised previously for his achievements. (#4).
Thank you so much
Yes! The intensity of the FUD is peaking. Those that will be disrupted are scared.
FSD > FUD
Thanks for being there and doing these podcasts, guys! I just really enjoy YOU as individuals as well as your insights.
Please vote your
shares. It is easy...
Teslas Board recommendations are on the ballot.
Its so important
A Deal is a Deal!
Yes, it is!
I have decided to use my own brain on the issues and not just blindly following the board's recommendations.
i voted three days ago go Elon
Thank you so much
Same here and I got two friends, shareholders who wouldn't have even known about the ballot, to vote their shares.
Just voted for everything the board wanted 👍🏻
Herbert, your Tesla channel is unmatched. The amount of insight is incredible. Jeff Lutz is awesome. I would buy a Jeff Lutz bobble head with interchangeable multicolored glasses.
I am a Lyft driver with a Tesla. Can’t wait till I let the car do it by itself and I get all those hours of waiting around for ride requests back.
But who are you going to call if your car breaks down, has a flat or gets in an accident (not the car's fault)? Would you pay a service for that, or wait by the phone in case it happens?
@@AudiTTQuattro2003 I can't beleive the delusional Lyft driver who thinks he's going to get a Tesla and have it do his work for him and he will somehow live off his car. No wonder he's a Lyft driver. No brains to do anything else.
Be wary bro. Tesla may wholly own the network meaning you may not get that free money (minus your purchase of the car); which means investing is the only way to get your earning from cybercabs
@@AudiTTQuattro2003 if it’s on the Tesla Robotaxi Network, Tesla will handle that. No one will put their vehicle on the network unless Tesla is assuming responsibility. Same as Lyft. From the moment I accept a ride request on Lyft, Lyft becomes responsible.
@@AudiTTQuattro2003 Agree, the price Uber and Lyft pay ride share drivers is very low compared to the cost of the car, driver's commensurate time driving point to point, maintenance of the car lol. It does not make economic sense .
Love you guys! But, this group is much bigger. Love you all.
This is the very best team😊
An idea I have is when the cars don't have human customers in non-peak hour places like UPS and FedEx could use them for business deliveries or maybe last mile delivering from big warehouses. This saves money on drivers, fuel and vehicle costs for those companies and helps keep Robo Taxi usage up during non-peek hours.
Great idea 👍🏼
I voted inline with the boards recommendations, including the contract with Elon a week ago. The process was simple and easy.
Good to get inline...
Tesla knows what true FSD software can do allready.
Yes Tesla know that FSD is not solved yet . Otherwise they would be buying shares like crazy.
I just voted. If you are a shareholder, you should vote, too.
Good time to buy Tesla.
I voted today! Waiting for 1/3 control numbers to come back but most of my shares voted.
I could imagine Tesla partnering with BP and other gas companies to acquire and build the Robotaxi Charging Hubs (charging, clearing and parking hubs) strategically located throughout each metropolitan area to accommodate Tesla’s Robotaxi fleet.
I can imagine Tesla partnering with the rental car companies to become Robotaxi fleet operators that operate their own Robotaxi Charging Hubs (converting their airport parking, cleaning and servicing areas to Robotaxi Charging Hubs) as well as the Robotaxi Charging Hubs created by the oil companies.
The oil companies have experience in acquiring the real estate (buying or leasing) and the buildout of the Charging Hubs. The rental car companies have the experience washing, cleaning, fueling and servicing cars in their rental fleets.
Another great update 👍
Thanks 👍
Have you guys discussed delivery services? A fleet Amazon Tesla vehicle can self drive to a person's house for a delivery, and a Optimus picks up the box(es) and walks them to the front door. Hell, people might even be okay with a robot having access to their garage since it isn't a person. ;) This would drop prices for delivery Amazon, UPS, USPS, FedEx, and deliveries could be 24x7. The EV could be used to charge the Tesla bot while traveling to the next delivery.
Umm Rivian has that as Amazon owns a chuck of Rivian
Also bezos hates Elon and Elon hates bezos.
Yeh.... Tesla is like _one stop shopping_ for autonomy.
And then the bot could be used to charge (plug in) the Tesla!
@@gregbailey45 tesla bought a German company that uses induction charging, but sure Optimus could do it
The bot would be a great backup
On the Tesla navigation when there's a lot of traffic, the roads, freeways turn orange on the map, you can adjust your trip from that info. Being alerted where there are new road closures, road damage, flooding, icy, trees down, would be good great. Jeannine
Herbert you have a treasure named Alexandra. Something should make sure that she works at Tesla even though she is part of the owner❤
I love her too
I love her too
8.8 will be revolutionary for the industry!
FSD AND Robots will be National Security in terms of Economy dominance!
Thanks!
I think it's smart if Tesla is focusing on building the super chargers as cost effective as possible and just selling them to partners. Let them take care of the logistics and installment. This save Telsa a lot of money and headaches I'm sure.
Voted the shares I'm responsible for to support Elon and the Tesla board.
Jeff I also experienced the same result at service center 🎉
Jesse - your enthusiasm is contagious … thx!
At 3 minutes you are asking what is Elon seeing that is making him move? I think you are missing it.
If I were Elon, the only thing that would make me move would be if the new FSD model stopped settling on a local maximum. Instead shows no limit.
Agreed, no limit.
Based on human nn's. I don't see any limit to human thinking.
Haven't received anything from Charles Schwab to vote my share. I would always get notifications to vote when it was owned by Ameritrade. Waiting.
I had to call them a couple times. They manually gave me a control number to vote
Exciting time for Tesla car Owners.
On supercharging. If Tesla can make more money selling the superchargers to 3rd parties and gas stations instead of installing it themselves, then this is a better model. If Tesla can do away with the permitting and installing which is the bottleneck, then this is a better model. They can focus on their core competency, which is manufacturing these charging stalls.
Defer with Herbert
Love Alexandra’s glasses!!! ❤
thank you Amy 💕
We adore her! Alexandra is not verbose. Her background gives her a special insight. Well worth listening to !
Her (slightly) French accent 🇫🇷 is gorgeous too !!
That is a German accent! Not French. Hahah
I love the red glasses too. ❤
Big gratitude for Merz exceptional efforts on voting. (and in general for a long time now)
Thank you guys for keeping us up to date on everything and especially for the work Alexandra is currently doing to ensure our Tesla vote counts! Much Appreciated!!!
As I understand it gas stations do not make alot of money selling gas. The majority of their profit comes from their convenience stores. Having a captive customer for 30 minutes while their EV charges would be a boon to BP.
Unbelievable progress is correct.
And it's more good news for EV and robotaxi investors, as NYC has decided all rideshare vehicles must be EV going forward.
Now the robotaxi market in NY, and MN are definitely ready for FSD and robotaxi.
As MN driver minimum wage forces Uber and Lyft to withdraw for the market.
Getting brighter! A+
Woah cool new intro! love it. Who made that?
I just voted the proxy the way Tesla suggested.
Yes!! I experienced the same thing as Jeff. The service center wifi opens more doors with tesla!!
Awesome
Put one of the Tesla Bot at just one busy super charger station, like the one at Kettleman City in Calif. Let the Bot help customer stick charger into their car for charging. News will get out and reality will prove the future is changing
It can’t even fold a towel unaided.
The man (Musk), has been deeply thinking about the autonomy for 3 decades. Frankly Tesla had autonomy in its DNA from the very early days. There is no other person I would trust more with early detection of the clear shot to self driving cars. I trust his judgment as he pivots the company and goes “balls to the wall”.
Partnership’s will be Tesla chargers at existing gas stations, most likely.
...and when those gas stations go out of business?
@@gregbailey45 over a period of time they will adopt more charges and reduce gas pumps to 0!
Assuming Tesla will have more vehicles with V2G, and given BP is an Energy company and would likely hedge going into the electric economy, if BP has charging stations and would have car fleets (or work with fleet owners), BP can use the cars as megapacks - to push energy to the grid when it needs extra power. Rush hower ends around 7pm in many areas. Grid would benefit from cheap electricity 7-9pm. While oportunistic, with the size of batteries in Teslas, this can be a HUGE cherry on the top.
Morgan Stanlfey made it easy to vote my shares of Tesla. One advantage of an Uber is assistance in loading luggage. Perhaps an option on the Tesla app to request a car with a driver. I use Uber to comute to the airport and often need help with luggage. Most of my rides would be fine in a 2 seater. It will be good to be able to choose.
great, thanks for voting
Maybe need a special purpose vehicle (more bus-like) for airport dropoff/ pick-ups.
Does everyone remember what happened to Nokia and Ericsson. Well GM is Nokia and Ford is Ericsson and Tesla is Apple. JS , when true disruptions happens landscapes change.
My BMW 7 series, 3 years ago, would look at my planned route and advise that a freeway was blocked or there was an accident. This was in the UK and advise a quicker diversion route change.
Hi
Google Maps has had this for years.
"Gender neutral toilet" Bahaha, I choked on my coffee!
Tesla can could rent Robocabs to anyone who wants to make an income from cleaning and monitoring cars. Jeannine
I wonder how much value will be given to share holders with the money saved from the salaries of the layoffs .Margins and profit should theoretically be better? Assuming the average salary is 100k-300k compensation?
I don't believe Jeff's argument about Uber having data important to Tesla is valid. When Tesla's robo-taxi arrives at the destination, and the passenger is not happy with the exact drop-off point. They will be able to tell the taxi more detailed instructions where to drop them off.
Tesla Superchargers are possibly a stranded asset. The CATL Shenxing Plus battery will charge 360 miles in 10 minutes and CATL will improve further. So in a couple of years the time for charging will approach the time for a gas fill up and there is no reason anymore to go off highway for a recharge. Tesla Superchargers are located mostly off highway.
They're needed for robotaxis and along inter-city routes, not so much in suburbia.
Great channel, all this talking and hype is good but IMO actually delivering revenue and earnings growth is better than Tesla HQ talking
The beauty of the old Hertz/Uber deal..... Is tesla does get the data for roboTaxi, how to drop off and pick up for fsd training, and where and when the travel is occurring.... Uber driver got a cheap tesla, tesla got the data to replace them
Uber could lease teslas and help them grow with drivers converting to fleet managers that clean and charge the vehicles in their area
1:17:00 No question in my mind legacy must license fsd to survive. But, wouldn't announcing it this year cause their own Osbourne effect? I think Jeff is on the record stating it would take 3 years before a model comes out after the announcement. But, wouldn't, say Fords, customers put off buying a Ford until it is released? I can see a situation where Ford doesn't want to announce it until they absolutely have to.
I think it makes more sense for places like Jiffy Lube to partner that it does BP can member the last time of BP put gas in my car. Jiffy Lube will be out of business in this new business model. They need to install chargers car washes grocery stores restrooms in 10 years there’s only gonna be diesel trucks on the road, used by contractors and people who need more power to pull things not class eight trucks Herbert this is one of your better ones good job
Once Tesla release their delivery van it'll be game over for diesel!
People really don't understand the role of Uber in the robo-taxies market.
My Model S FSD HW3 does not have an interior camera, nag free 12.4 ?
I’m not sure you will be able to use it.
alexandra .. it’s available from your phone. No need to go to your car !
It would be great it Tesla had more percent retail investors than institutional investors. Jeannine
Street have to drive it down on good news so they can buy.
Just look at return on investment for superchargers stations. It is a steady and increasing profit center with a low margin. Tesla can make more money by selling superchargers to others and instead of investing in real estate and instillation cost Tesla can use the money to invest in FSD, AI where the margins are much higher. Get out of low margin activities and concentrate on high margins
Tesla does not own the real estate at their supercharger sites. Superchargers are what is selling their cars right now. Without Tesla Superchargers it's just another car. Tesla has 27 Billion Dollars in the bank. Just exacltly where will the robotaxis charge? Elon fired the supercharger team because he wanted to slow the growth right now and got pushback. He had a temper tantrum like a big baby and fired everyone. What I can't understand is all of these people who rightly claimed that the supercharger nework was Tesla's greatest asset work hundereds of billions of dollars and then when Elon makes this bonehead move they flip their opinion to the exact oposite. I am a Tesla suporter and own a Model Y but I'm not a cult member with no brains controlled by the great leader Elon. So exactly whta higher margins activities does Tesla need to concentrate on that they don't have the money to do right now?
Tesla is supplying these legacy fossil fuels companies with a great opportunity to survive the transition.😊
Let’s talk about inference compute! Will this turn out to be another form of revenue to the car????
BP will also buy solar and battery storage from Tesla to support their Superchargers.
Question, for alexandra- typically in proxy votes, if you do not vote it counts as a vote for the company's recommendations. Is there something different about this?
When you vote make sure you are getting all your shares to votes. If you have more than one account with Tesla stocks, you need to vote separately for each account or you will short your votes. Example I have 4 accounts with Tesla. I voted separately to all 4 of my accounts
Fidelity is super easy. Look for documents. Other documents. Proxy. Pulls all your accounts w Tesla up at once.
Thanks for voting
The main reason Tesla went into building chargers is because they had to. Now that ev adoption is done they can choose what business they want to be in/
Regarding add infrastructure at supercharger locations and doing it differently, it would be interesting to see a partnership between one or more of the coffee giants - Starbucks, Peet's, etc.
The RoboTaxi communications system has already been developed by Uber!! Of course Tesla will build upon and further automate this model.
Maybe they could buy Uber to get access...
(I'm joking, but only just...)
If I were creating the software, I would click the robotaxi app and see my screen populate with all of the available taxis and ones are already in service. (Similar to finding restaurants on the google map app ). Each taxi would be identified with a color code and ID # with its motion in real time. The customer could click on any ID# to see its rating and special characteristics for that taxi. Enter the destination and receive a price for the ride. You have 15 seconds to book the ride or it becomes available for the next potential customer. If the density of taxis on the network show none available, the customer would move on to the next ride hail network. This could work with supervised drivers or driverless vehicles. The taxis shown in use could show how many minutes expected until the ride terminates and can be summoned to your destination. Many variations will evolve putting the customer in charge of their method of transport.
The big picture multi-car traffic routing control could be of great value to multiple local government and planning agencies. Real-time instant identification of traffic issues to trigger emergency response team movements. Common recurring slowdown areas and times identified for future road improvements. Dangerous situations where emergency response teams are needed. Seems like it would be worthwhile for cities to own some automated cars to roam traffic prone areas regularly 😊
Can i vote if i didnt own any shares in 2018?
All my shares were purchased in the last 2 years. Am i eligible to vote?
I cant find this information online, and i havent received an email yet..
You only had to hold shares in April to vote. In your platform you should have a documents section. Look for other documents that sat proxy.
Yes, the only condition is to have held shares on April 15, 2024, the date of record
Thanks guys, no email from my broker, but I called them today and they will be sending me my control numbers Monday!
Thanks again for all this great info
20:56) “partnerships” Tesla could work with fast food to leverage robotaxi availability. Call it Arbytrage…❤
Fleet to map or vehicle to vehicle?
I would imagine that there will be an Optimus at critical intersections assisting the fleet in navigating the intersection acting as a communication intermediary
Saratoga Ave. in San Jose leads to one of the most affluent areas in the world; Saratoga, Los Gatos, and Cupertino. In the last few years we have seen gas stations fall like dominoes along this corridor. At the same time we have seen EV chargers proliferate like rabbits including a 12 bay Tesla Supercharger location literally on Saratoga Ave. BP is definitely doing the right thing. Also Tesla(Elon) has done the right thing. Their valuation all along has not been based on being a carmaker only so why should they be focusing on designing and releasing new vehicles, endless ads on TV etc. The biggest impact on society will be robotaxis, allowing a world where you can own a car if you want to but you don't have to own a car to survive!
If you have Tesla stock and live in the US, there is no way you should be with a broker that doesn’t allow you to vote. Dump them.
exactly
When robots do the work nobody wants to, and hopefully there's a universal basic income, what is viewed as work will become more encompassing. Jeannine
BP might want to set up the semi truck charger network worldwide
Cool cool but when will the stock price finally improve? We need to see results. You can sit here all day and speculate that FSD will make BILLIONS...but it's all hot air until we see it come to fruition.
You mean TRILLIONS!
@@gregbailey45 Sure...if we're just throwing out numbers. LOL.
If Tesla cannot get you within a few feet of superchargers they will not be able to get you next to the ride pickup.
I have question on: How much the demand of Taxi in Not-Big City areas.
You mean robo-taxi? Not so much. But if they're cheaper than owning a car, for personal transport, why not?
I would like to see a discussion on why Elon will not allow buyers to own things like FSD!
companies who want supercharges need only provide the space for the chargers and Tesla will deicide it the want to expand their network there. I have about 16,000 supercharger miles this year from Sacramento to Nashville and Texas to Canada. Most site were one time charges. There were a few that were 2 to 4 charges. In general Tesla has about 5 times as many stall as they really need today.
The BP move shows us that there are opportunities beyond not pushing 4680 batteries for Tela moving to have others players invest in order to reach their own mission goal. They can reserve capital and human capital allocation to SaaS business and earn higher margins. It all sound perfectly logical to me.
...which is what legacy auto did years ago. IE: the CyberTruck steer by wire system is a ZF unit (probably with Tesla design specifics).
A few words: 1. AI. 2. Logisics. 3. Parking. 4. Transformers. 5. $$$$.
Tesla does not want to deal with the last three. Tesla wants to provide the first two.
I would bet $500 that Ron Baron tested the new Tesla RoboTaxi App and it drove him to Steve Jobs' old house. As he recently stated.
If anyone deserves to be one of the first to test drive the new RoboTaxi App as an investor, Ron is the top of my list.
Think about that aspect, then go watch Ron's interview again.
agree
R.i.P ears with Herbert
I think he was going to drop 08/08 during the earnings call.
The problem with the BP story is that it comes from BLOOMBERG.
I agree with you. What I can't understand is all these people that think it's a great idea. Hand over electrification to big oil. What could possibly go wrong.
@@arseliopereira2541 The only thing BP wants to do is hedge their bets. Tesla will let them take over putting up new locations. There has been no information that BO is actually buying existing Tesla Supercharger locations. BO sees the writing on the wall. As more people realize the benefit of owning EVs, you want a piece of the fuel supply income.
If Uber continues with human drivers, well if you go to a self-serve gas station and the pump says "see cashier inside" do you go in or leave and find another gas station? I don't see human driven taxies being around long term. Now if there is a creepy looking half robot driver, "Johnny Cab" I'd pick that taxi service! ;)
