This show was a trip - went from loving to hate Marcus (I'm a Knicks fan 😁) to understanding his tenacity (his humble upbringings) to appreciating his humility (him admitting he's not the greatest shooter) to admiring his attitude (110% winning and getting teammates involved, especially young players and exuding leadership) to just laughing at his stories.
Guy clearly has a lot of character and I'm now a fan. This is why I love this pod - I understand so much more about the players after these extended interviews. Appreciate everything you guys do and props to Marcus for holding back no punches as I'd expect from him.

JJ can you try to get Wall on here? I’m not sure if that’s possible, idk why but I always had a feeling you and him weren’t anything close to friendly, but if you are I would love to hear that. Every time Wall does someone’s podcast I feel like a lot of the people who think they hate him comment how much they changed their minds. Wall is a really good dude in a lot of ways, and he even reminds me of Marcus a bit in terms of how he plays with a lot of aggression and fire but he has a huge hugeeew heart. I think it’s impossible to argue against that the way we have seen him share his emotions when talking about his late mother( Rest In Peace) and Miyah( Rest In Peace)
The way Washington fans were impacted by him leaving also said a lot. Many of them talked about how they were going to miss him in the community even more than on the court. The NBA and wizards totally tried to eff him reputation wise, and it’s pathetic he never won the community assist award, but the facts tell the truth. The man has done SO much for Washington communities and I love how he understands that it’s not just about throwing money at projects, but also showing his face during these projects so he can( in his words) show people “he is just like them”. I truly adore how much he knows that his success doenst make him any type of special human who is above others. I love him for that

Marcus Smart defines what Celtics fans want to be our "culture". A guy who works his tail off every game and wants nothing more than to win.
