Matt Stagmer Matt, if you haven't seen it already. Someone has compiled a list of all the most requested weapons, It's now the highest rated comment on the video.
This video really just made me appreciate the skill these guys have so much more, i know a lot of people whine about the change in teams from Man at arms to the reforged but this video more than proves they have skills above and beyond anyone's expectation, to grind away at an already flattened piece of metal, heat treat it and call it a sword is one thing, but to truly forge something as large as this is , in my opinion, amazing.
yeah michaelcthulhu did a better version of not only aurons sword but the buster sword too, these guys feel like they just quickly half ass the designs
The amount of time and skill these things must take to make is very impressive. Thats why its so cringe worthy reading the comments from 14 year olds whining about the dumbest shit
As an amateur Smith myself the work is amazing...not something I would go for in my personal taste (I prefer traditional Japanese ) but still doing a San mi these size is great stuff
They should do fully licensed merch for these game companies, I imagine there's probably a huge market for this kind of stuff, swords and armor and such. I'd buy some dark souls stuff in a heartbeat
They don't have the time, and you don't have the money. Swords like these, forged instead of simply cut out of sheet steel, represent thousands of manhours of labor.
Nah. Market for this is so big that they aren''t able to make it. There is need for tons of gadgets like this and it takes long time to do single one. They would need huge forge with tousands of workers. And anyway it would be too expensive for avarenge fan. So maybe hundreds of workers and ultra-exclusive geek items will work somehow, but still not.
If Auron's sword truly exists, this is how it would looks. Not too big since it would be useless in combat, and with hamon appearing to show how well it was build. Amazing work guys, hats off to you!
I want to stop hearing people say it would be useless in combat if it was actually made to scale. First build it, and THEN seek out a warrior who can wield it. Don't worry if it's realistic or too heavy. Somewhere out there is a guy who can wield a 150Kg sword!
This was quite the impressive build, you guys are an incredibly dedicated crew. Is very inspiring to see people so dedicated to one of the world's oldest professions, keep the awesome job.
Well done. FFX was the first Final Fantasy game I finished and I must say, you guys did the game and character justice. Appreciate everything you guys do and I can only hope that this stuff continues for a good while. Can't help but admire fine work and fine workers.
The Brotherhood would be very difficult to build, the blade is made of crystal. I think maybe that was the reason they went to Auron's Katana in the first place.
Renato Fenrir That'd make much more sense. The Caladbolg is just a sapphire-colored blade, making it would be more easier than the Brotherhood, they can just paint the forged blade blue. The thing is: probably there were not enough requests for the Caladbolg. Well, 'cause it's not that iconic compared to say, Gunblade and the Buster Sword, and the Brotherhood is Tidus' trademark weapon.
I'm very partial to Michael's builds since he strives for accuracy and shows literally everything he does in the process. However it's obvious that the Man at Arms guys are better blacksmiths (Illiya in particular), whereas Mike mostly uses power tools and welding. That aside, I do like Mike's finished product more on this one. The black oxidation really sets it off.
MichaelChtulhu's stuff is awesome, but I'd say the main difference between his work and the work done by Man at Arms is that his stuff is mostly for show, since he doesn't really temper his weapons. I'd imagine that after hitting too many things with his version of Auron's Katana it would probably break sooner or later. On the flip side pretty much all the Man at Arms weapons are forged and tempered the way weapons are supposed to be, which makes them way more durable and somewhat usable (not that they would be used lol, I'm just pointing out they can be). I love MichaelCthulhu's work, but I personally don't consider his stuff to be anywhere near the same level as these guys.
I'm no Blacksmith but man those are some awesome techniques you guys are showcasing. Sadly it doesn't look like you guys get the appreciation for the techniques you use, but instead want their favorite swords to be showcased instead. Keep up the good work guys, and remember this is the internet, full of whiners and trolls, but there are still people who actually appreciate what you do. :D
Matt Stagmer I really liked that batman wolverine gauntlet you guys made. Would making a whole suit be too much? Of course it could be from some video game or TV show ;)
Just like you, I really like to see how they manage to overcome the challenges given by each blade, more than the blades themselves (they're still awsome, don't make me say what I didn't say^^). Personnally, I'd like to see them making an armor, for a change :p
Flipsider totally agree. The science and technique are the primary reasons I watch. Sure, it’s cool seeing famous blades, but I’d watch these guys make a shovel.
I like how people In the comments don't comment on any actual technique or handy man work that goes into all these weapons but they just keep asking for more
Please punch yourself for that u_U. But i´ll love to see they make the monado, but i wonder, will be possible to create something similar to the monado in its active form?, rather than the passive one, being the last one easier and logically to make. PD: Good videos btw.
I don't think that what is essentially a laser sword would be a feasible build for them. Albeit it would be something else to see this made into reality.
GreenSpyro or maybe they can make the monado change form, when the monado changes from its closed to open form, it actually has hinges that connects the parts that that extends outward, i think it could physically work (here's reference) cf.imados.fr/1/jeux-videos/images-xenoblade-chronicles/photo/7157753715/3077502252/images-xenoblade-chronicles-xenoblade-chronicles-monado-img.jpg
Well obviously they can't make an energy weapon but they could take a creative spin, make it like the Monado in it's closed state and have it open to reveal a decent sized blade that extends.
Something in memory of Monty would be wonderful, even though Crescent Rose is a logistical nightmare to consider with its mass and complexities. Weiss' sword may be somewhat more viable, but if they are up for a challenge... As RT suggested, "do something creative".
On paper this sword might appear much simpler than some of the others done, but because of all the details you showed in the process I have to say this is one of my favorite videos. I missed Tony and his crew at first, but you all have definitely proven that you're masters of the art. Keep up the good work!
I've binge-watched about 25 of these so far, and I really like these guys the best. The whole "look at our sick ancient swordmaking tech!" attitude is really enjoyable and super informative. This is clearly a hard weapon to forge, but they don't seem nearly as annoyed to do it as some of the others have.
Take a look at their website. Lots of original swords of their own design they did on there. No video of the forging process but at least you can buy them
Nightmare's Soul Edge from Soul Calibur or Shulk's Monado sword from Xenoblade Chronicles. Both of these swords are really popular in gaming and they're actually be possible to make.
But that'd be so difficult! Not saying they couldn't do it, but having it fold and be that size would be almost too much. But I agree they should do something from RWBY, Emerald's weapon is pretty cool, I haven't seen them do a rapier so Weiss' weapon would be great as well.
Asian Equation They could do a fully extended set piece. Preferably with some means of popping firecracker cartridges to give the fully customizable sniper rifle feel to it :)
I understand people wanting to appreciate Monty's work and being kind enough to ask for Crescent Rose, but the weapon itself would be ridiculous to try and build given the weight and size it would be in real life. Something smaller from the series would be just as good, be it Myrtenaster, Miló and Akoúo̱, Gamble Shroud, etc
+Broqen Aynkels one day they're going to do a joke episode where they just make 30 of the most retarded recommendations they get and this will be the highlight where they simply pull a butter knife out of their drawers, hit it with a hammer once, and then call it their masterpiece.
Adam's or Raven's Sword. Or maybe even the Peter Port's Blunderbuss Axe. Haven't seen that many axes on the is show yet. They need a to make a gunsmith version of man at arms.
Someone above mentioned wanting to see something other than a sword. Another person mentioned wanting to see a Scythe. I think the conclusion is obvious here. Ruby's Gunscythe.
Can you make a scythe? like the one Hidan wields in Naruto? or Maca/Stein in Soul Eater? or Marluxia in Kingdom Hearts? Pick any scythe you want, I'd love to see you making one.
Matt Stagmer You definitely show some of the best blacksmithing skills that I've ever seen. Simply amazing! I'm sure these videos also serve as an inspiration for many young people to go and start studying to be a blacksmith. Best regards from Finland! Keep up the good work!
Matt Stagmer I love how you use Damascus to give that pattern on the blade. I was wondering if you could make the dragonslayers spear from dark souls? aurea-dracos-interficientis.tumblr.com/weapons
Matt Stagmer Got to respect you still appreciate the traditional method in blacksmith... not only you make probably the best sword with the best technique, but you also keeping and flourish the tradition itself... Respect for you my friend
Katanas have terrible balance, so it is actually weird if the sword is balanced. Cool sword though, FFX is an awesome game. (Although the best is FFII.)
Vyce Bozeck You can't really say Katanas are badly balanced as they were made very differently in different areas of Japan and at different times. While they all look fairly similar the way they are balanced and were used varies wildly.
Vyce Bozeck I dont think it's fair to sag theyre terribly balanced, theyre just balanced differently to European style blades, more like a sabre than a longsword. But on the other hand, as epic as this build is it really isnt well balanced for anything, it's just massively ott.
IHitmanAirsoft A properly made European saber has better balance than a katana. The problem with katanas is that they are very short and stubby. A katana will average about 34 inches in length-the same as a one-handed European broadsword-and weighs about 2-3 pounds. the real trick is that the katana does not have a distill taper and is generally thicker than a European sword of the same length. The reason for this is that-contrary to popular belief-the Japanese did not have a lot of high-grade steel-or steel in general-so they made their swords using a technique found in European bronze-age swords: Differential hardening. This technique allowed swordsmiths to make a good-quality sword using not-so-good quality materials. Plus I think the guards are pathetic looking, but that's just personal taste.
All right. This probably has to be one of my favourite builds you guys have done so far. Auron is easily one of my favourite characters, design wise at least, from Final Fantasy X which is my favourite of the Final Fantasy games. The request I have for you today is from another video game series called the Legacy of the Kain. I would like to see how the serpentine blade of the Soul Reaver, easily the most iconic weapon from the game, would be forged and how it would look in real life. Please and thank you.
Matt Stagmer You're welcome. All the work you guys have done has been super impressive. One of my favourite aspects of the show has to be seeing all the hard work that goes into making each piece. Keep up the fantastic work.
Caden Richter that would definitely be interesting. My favourite part about Auron's Katana is at simple it looks compared to some other fantasy swords. Funny how that contrasts with how much work they had to actually put into it xP
Or soemthing on the lines of. Suggest what we should cut with what weapon! But I guess it would degenrate fast into: "PLEase buy a a super epxensive things and smash it."
Blaine Drummond Thank you for watching Man at Arms. My name is Russian and is Anglicized quite a bit by other members of the team. But yes, it is Ilya.
Okay I have to ask some of you guys something: HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU STILL ASK FOR TONY? Only on a few projects he has put that amount of work into the forging (i.e. the hidden blade) like the brothers! Ancient nordic technique without the blades core? (Fierce Diety) Forging from scissors? Showing ancient Japanese Smithing for a 5000+ layer sword? No. Tony and his team had the blades cut out with a band saw and a handheld plasma cutter and then grind the hell out of the shaky edges. Wow. Thats so much more blacksmithing. Yeah. I missed him at first. His rough humor and the weel of death. But the REFORGED-Team has improved so much, their blades are of a higher Quality then Tonys already. Hell, he himself stated that some blades just broke because he didn't bother heat treating. So either you are hipsters (with Tony...THOSE were the days...) or unfair. At least that's how it seems.
Probably because the original guys did their best to follow each build to the letter. I can't recall if they actually attempted downsizing like Reforged has.
The only problem theses guys still have is the same that Ray pointed out... Almost none of the bad-ass giant swords that the have made have been to scale. Other than that they have fixed the other issues.
JakeSnake07 because the reforged guys did such abominable things like the batman claws and whatever the fuck that TMNT thing was, tony wouldnt have done that.
Ray01Geogeass They did that with tony. kratos's blades were downsized, but i think that was the only one. and that was because of the overall weight if it was done to scale.
I love all these builds, but I'd like to see some more normal weapons not these giant blades. There's so many out there, don't need to do oversized ones all the time imo
I would love to see it. But non Japanese shit just gets drowned out by all the weeabos spamming "make mikasume's dildokatana from gayhighschooldragonquestonline."
Johnnythefirst not in the show. But if you google there are some official sword makers that sell the licnesed version. Also since the hammer was not present in the show the MAn At Arm crew can have their own take on the hammer. The zombie killing hammer Matt did was pretty much it.
Never once have I ever asked a sword to be made I watch man at arm's simple because I find it amazing that they make something absolutely spectacular from nothing I love how they show the process of making the blade an how they do it it is explained in such detail please people who watch this don't let it die
WOW that is a strong blade. No wobble when it hits anything, not even the tree. That's something you don't really see with your swords,(normally you go for looks over practicality) but no shake this time
Thank you for watching Man at Arms. Military swords flex and act like springs upon impact. This tendency allows the weapons to transfer stress away from breaking points.
These videos are really helping me get through the night shift, great work all round and really interesting to see, big missed opportunity to have Ilya cosplay as Auron here tho 👍🏼😂
DRAGONSLAYER (BERSERK) PLEASE I'M POSTING THIS EVERYWEEK, MAKE IT REAL AND FIND SOME ONE WHO LOOKS LIKE GUTS TO CHOP SOME DEMONS MADE OF METAL, THAT WILL BE FUCKIN SWEET!
they could make his gauntlet with the crossbow on it as an alternative, although I do have to say seeing the dragonsalyer be made for real would be amazing
THIS. 100% this. best episode to date. technically detailed and interesting, excellent camera work and seeing it being forged from almost nothing to this beautiful blade was amazing to watch. i know this isnt your everyday job buy you guys and especially Ilya should be congratulated on the effort and research you put in. hopefully more quality works and episodes come from you guys in the future.
We need to stop asking for swords like that though, considering it would be impossible for them to do. All the time I see comments from people suggesting swords that _aren't_ _made_ _of_ _metal_ and it's like you guys don't realize how much sense it doesn't make. I mean, look how the Energy Sword turned out. It lost all of its functionality with the unbalanced weight because they made it something it's not. Besides, there's not a single resource that we have in the real world (except for glass, maybe) that can replicate whatever the hell the Brotherhood is made out of, so why bother making something that can't be made? Hell, any one of the Daedric weapons from Skyrim would be a more plausible suggestion than the Brotherhood ......my apologies for the rant.
Likian5 What are you talking about Tidus Brotherhood Sword had never been to build at Man At Arms but If they did It, I'm sure that I'm exciting if we won the first time. I hope you understand Likian5.
Not sure if they got the skills for it. A traditional Japanese Katana with the original methods takes long time to make, years of learning and practice to actually complete it like a true master.... Doubt any of them has the time, or has been taught the way to do it. If they would, I'd be more than impressed.
Matt Stagmer great work this episode! Could I suggest Saber's (King Authur) Excalibur from Fate/Zero? P.S. I also never would have guessed you like SourceFed!
Shadowtechnik 3 is a ton? and i'm counting sting (which in to them was a hobbit weapon and not lord of the rings, but since it's the same universe i'll count it). if 3 is a ton to you then i'd hate to see you playing a sport! I SCORED A TON TODAY! 4 points.
I don't know too much about actual sword fighting so I may be wrong. But couldn't you use a blade like that effectively if given enough time to practice with it and had enough strength to easily swing it? This sword perhaps has a bit too much steel in some places and would have still been effective if it was a bit thinner, but its still not as big as some of the other swords I've seen people use. You probably can't use standard long sword or claymore techniques, but slicing techniques would work well against large or multiple targets.
Mr Ferario I don't practice historical weapon martial arts myself but i can answer some of your questions. The problem with a heavy sword isn't the strength required to swing it. Yes, having strong arms and good core muscles helps a lot, but the problem is simply physics. When you swing a regular sword, you don't get pulled by its weight that much. Historical replicas don't weigh that much at all, making them agile. A heavy sword would make you lose balance on every move. The stronger and faster the swing, the more it trashes you around. There is also the idea of why ? Why would you want a heavy sword to cut someone or something, when a light one does just as good if not better ?
Kavryel I understand that logic and have discussed it before on skullgrims videos. As I said before this blade could have been made a lot better for normal combat if it was thinner At the front and balanced properly. One thing I would like to point out is that this is a fantasy sword, in a fantasy world where there are giant monsters and people in very strong armour. A normal sword would have a very hard time cutting through armour and thick hide even if you swing it very fast. A blade like this could easily cut through a horse or a bear or even a few guys in armour if the wielder was proficient enough. There are a lot of sword fighting techniques which utilize the weight of your sword to work with you instead of against you. Its the same concept of fighting with heavy armour or swinging a large axe. A very light blade will more often be less durable and likely to break if used like that. To your average beginning swordsman a big blade will be too much to handle but if you train with it, you can be just as fast if not faster then a light blade. And actual historical blades larger then 5 ft look massive but weigh a little over 2 kilos to over 4 kilos. Its not exactly as heavy as a battle axe which can weigh more than 5 kilos or great hammers which can be 10 kilos. People still used those quite effectively.
Mr Ferario If it makes sense in a fantasy world it doesn't in ours. A light blade might be less durable but break really ? When have you seen a good blade break ? Maybe if you try "cutting through armor" with it, it would break (you're not really supposed to do that) You said it yourself, it's not balanced to battle. It doesn't have a guard. It's too thick. It's a great replica, great build but it's not a functional weapon in our world.
SilverAuron that's only in bleach where every effing sword is a zanpakuto (which is a fictional name that isn't what the swords are called.) this classifies as something more like a nodachi/tachi (more nodachi)
I'm pretty sure I never wrote zampakuto, and zanpatou Is a term I took from a book so excuse me if a belive it more than some random person on the internet, also a tachi usually just a sligtly longer sttraighter and wider katana, wile a nodachi is a long katana, Sephiroth's masamune classifies as one. Also the dimension of this particular "replica" is wrong, Auron's is bigger.
looks great! my only complaint is that the handle is completely round. A completely cylindrical handle is not ideal because it is difficult get the edge alignment right, because the handle feels the same all the way around, and in turn it is difficult to cut all the way through tougher objects.
Joshua Barger I'm aware of how impractical it is in real life, but I'd rather them actually make _Auron's Katana_ than for them to make a "more realistic" version of it.
It's not like a perfectly round cylindrical handle is some sort of trademark that sets "Auron's Katana" aside from all other video game swords. In fact, a lot video game swords have cylindrical handles, I would guess because it is easier to model, and it's not something you would really notice to during gameplay, since it is so small on screen. Also, not everyone is a sword enthusiast, so how would they know it was "less realistic" anyway? Now tell me this, if MAA had taken some "creative liberty" (if you can even call it that) and made Auron's Katana with an oval shaped handle instead of a round one to make it more ergonomic, would you have said "This replica is completely inaccurate from the game, shame on you!"? Probably not. Chances are, you wouldn't have even noticed. They probably just didn't bother carving out an oval shaped handle, simply because the blade is so unwieldy anyway, and its a lot easier to just grab a pre shaped dowel rod, or delrin tube. But lets be honest, If they *really* wanted to make it more "realistic" and wieldable, they would have to do a lot more than reshape the handle.
Joshua Barger I wouldn't have said _that_, but I _definitely_ would have noticed and said _something_. Probably something the lines of "I understand why they made the handle the way they did, but Auron's Katana has a round handle.", or something similar. I don't appreciate you trying to tell me what _I_ would notice, especially considering that we don't know each other.
Honestly this is one of the best swords you've made. The historical style forging was amazing and this sword actually seems usable.
Matt Stagmer Ya you guys did an awesome job!
Matt Stagmer Matt, if you haven't seen it already. Someone has compiled a list of all the most requested weapons, It's now the highest rated comment on the video.

This week, we're recreating Auron's katana from Final Fantasy X! #ReForged
Tatsumi's Sword, Demon Armor Incursio :v
Dracule mihawk's sword (YORU) from one piece; its an excellent build for you and will be challenging but I think you can handle it.
Decapitating Carving Knife aka Kubikiribōchō, Zabuza's sword from Naruto.
Soul Edge
or
Soulcalibur
rikudou sennin It would be really cool :D
"Worst day of forging swords is still better than the best day behind a desk" is the last thing I need to hear at my dead end desk job haha
you watched this at work didn'tcha?
keny1555 I did on my lunch break
Find your passion Davey! And do it masterfully. Then you can market yourself and make money doing what you love.
I felt that
these guys are insanely talented
Watch michealcthulu
He's amazing
yeah michaelcthulhu did a better version of not only aurons sword but the buster sword too, these guys feel like they just quickly half ass the designs
Let's see them do tidus' s sword brotherhood or the jecht sword that he starts with
except too weak
The amount of time and skill these things must take to make is very impressive. Thats why its so cringe worthy reading the comments from 14 year olds whining about the dumbest shit
agreed
Truth
As an amateur Smith myself the work is amazing...not something I would go for in my personal taste (I prefer traditional Japanese ) but still doing a San mi these size is great stuff
Unfortunately, these kids know nothing of talent :/
These are not whining 14 year olds kids , these are whining 14 year olds kids AND weaboos
They should do fully licensed merch for these game companies, I imagine there's probably a huge market for this kind of stuff, swords and armor and such. I'd buy some dark souls stuff in a heartbeat
You shoulda either blacked or blued the sword and left the edge without it would have looked better

Bring me Peter pan Knowing It’s Coming From Quality Blacksmiths, And A Quality Team, I’d Buy Too. 😊😊😊
You’d need a licence to have weapons like this, depending on where you’re from
If Auron's sword truly exists, this is how it would looks. Not too big since it would be useless in combat, and with hamon appearing to show how well it was build.

Auron would definitely make it useful in combat LOL
Sephirot's Masamune would definitely be more useless...
The quality of these swords is definitely a cut above last season's.
i agree, at least they arent just laser cutting everything.
Heheh, cut... cause they're swords...
Asian Equation It's Ilya, the guy is a fucking badass when it comes to sword forging.
ThatNutsyDude But he really should shave.
This was quite the impressive build, you guys are an incredibly dedicated crew. Is very inspiring to see people so dedicated to one of the world's oldest professions, keep the awesome job.
Matt Stagmer the Heavenly Sword!! www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2007/08/heavenly_sword_render_02.jpg pleeeeeaaasseee :D
Well done. FFX was the first Final Fantasy game I finished and I must say, you guys did the game and character justice.
Appreciate everything you guys do and I can only hope that this stuff continues for a good while.
Can't help but admire fine work and fine workers.
Makes you wonder what they would do if they made the Brotherhood...
theodare I would sooooooooo love it if they built the Brotherhood, the sword looks freaking awesome... and complicated.
The Brotherhood would be very difficult to build, the blade is made of crystal. I think maybe that was the reason they went to Auron's Katana in the first place.
Albino Bob Why not Caladbolg instead?
Renato Fenrir That'd make much more sense. The Caladbolg is just a sapphire-colored blade, making it would be more easier than the Brotherhood, they can just paint the forged blade blue. The thing is: probably there were not enough requests for the Caladbolg. always interesting to see two builds of the same sword done totally differently. (Man at Arms and MichaelChtulu)
Which one did you think did the best on this build?
I'm very partial to Michael's builds since he strives for accuracy and shows literally everything he does in the process. However it's obvious that the Man at Arms guys are better blacksmiths (Illiya in particular), whereas Mike mostly uses power tools and welding. Also note ......Mike only makes giant versions.

I was sceptic too at first, but now I can see all the effort put in it, and I think it is now more fun to watch reforged than old MaA
Matt Stagmer I really liked that batman wolverine gauntlet you guys made. Would making a whole suit be too much? Of course it could be from some video game or TV show ;)

Flipsider they so gotta get ready with gohan's first sword
Flipsider totally agree. The science and technique are the primary reasons I watch. Sure, it’s cool seeing famous blades, but I’d watch these guys make a shovel.
Make Tidus' Brotherhood sword.
+J Double-L Yeah make this !
I wonder if they know how to work with glass...
+J Double-L I would love to see that one, definitely one of my favorite looking swords of all time!
hell yeah that sword is awesome!
Jones Crimson Yo that would be incredible if they know! :o
I like how people In the comments don't comment on any actual technique or handy man work that goes into all these weapons but they just keep asking for more
+ShitTalkerTalkingShitGettingHit That's seriously my main gripe with the comment section. They sound like they don't give a shit X:
+kaihedgie I know right I believe these swords take loads of resources to make especially the big ones. And to be a master of any craft is amazing.
yeah people never appreciate the weapon. they just ask for more.
nothing is done without own benefit, the more order, the more they deliver their technique and profits.Use your brain before thinking kid =))
ShitTalkerTalkingShitGettingHit how come they haven't getting ready with gohan's first sword?
One of the best of the season, gratz to Ilya!
Matt Stagmer couldnt agree more
Matt Stagmer ilias top hat is awesome
the episode of the helmet from Skyrim... he just destroyed
Matt Stagmer
I'm always amazed by your work guys. Did Illya study under some japanese blacksmith? I was just wondering :)
SteinCr they need to get ready with gohan's first sword
Please. I keep requesting this. Forge the Monado from Xenoblade Chronicles! You'll be really feeling it!
GreenSpyro or maybe they can make the monado change form, when the monado changes from its closed to open form, it actually has hinges that connects the parts that that extends outward, i think it could physically work (here's reference)
cf.imados.fr/1/jeux-videos/images-xenoblade-chronicles/photo/7157753715/3077502252/images-xenoblade-chronicles-xenoblade-chronicles-monado-img.jpg
HO YES PLEASE THIS
Well obviously they can't make an energy weapon but they could take a creative spin, make it like the Monado in it's closed state and have it open to reveal a decent sized blade that extends.
Sasuke Uchiha's Katana
Sword of Kusanagi: Chidori Katana
(For you Nicole Uchiha )
ah that's great >w< oh I would love to see that arigato neko
sasuke sword looks hella basic excpt for the handle and color scheme
soracool1234 but it is sasuke's sword. that enough makes it burst with awesomeness >w
Sember Uchiha Just to clarify: it's a chokutou, not a katana. Similar, but not the same.
I would like to see Sasuke Uchiha's sword
I always put characters on Auron's path for the ridiculous strength gains. RIP wandering spirit Auron.
Yeah, rest in piece to him.
I did it with Tidus and turned him into a tank player. Then got Auron on Tidus's grid and ended up making him faster than Tidus himself 😂
Ruby's Cresent Rose that doesn't have to turn into a rifle? In memory of Monty Oum.
I agree so much. That would be an amazing tribute.
*****
I'm for for that idea cause it is an actual sword, plus raiper's are sexy
*****
While I admit Weiss' Rapier would be great, Ruby's Weapon is kind of the 'poster weapon' for RWBY.
Something in memory of Monty would be wonderful, even though Crescent Rose is a logistical nightmare to consider with its mass and complexities. Weiss' sword may be somewhat more viable, but if they are up for a challenge...
As RT suggested, "do something creative".
I'd love to see a weapon from RWBY, it doesn't really matter which for me
On paper this sword might appear much simpler than some of the others done, but because of all the details you showed in the process I have to say this is one of my favorite videos. I missed Tony and his crew at first, but you all have definitely proven that you're masters of the art. Keep up the good work!
And if you guys ever show off your workshop, I would *totally* drive up to Baltimore to see it!
I couldn't agree with you more. Just to see these guys work in person would be amazing
ILYA YOU DA REAL MVP! And the rest of you guys too, but Ilya just puts so much heart and soul into his builds. It's amazing.
MVP for sure. That guy is awesome. All them Japanese forge smithing methods...
Any weapon from RWBY in memory of Monty Oum's passing
i agree. that would be a nice way to remember his work
That's exactly what I was thinking about. Maybe Ruby's scythe or Weiss's sword....
It would be awesome if they did Blake's Gambit Shroud. I wanna see how they do the sheath blade
Crescent Rose would be amazing
YES
Design and make a sword (or anything, really) that is entirely your own design.
agree
They did that with the chamfrom, the walking dead episode, and the TMNT weapon and everyone got all pissy.
JakeSnake07 That's because it sucked balls...
Take a look at their website. Lots of original swords of their own design they did on there.
No video of the forging process but at least you can buy them
Check out bladesmithsforum com. Most of the guys from this show are on there and have plenty of origional work.
Knight Artorias Greatsword from Dark Souls!!!!!!!
You Sir had a great idea.
how do i thumb this up more!
Oh god, yes please~
You got my thumbs up
My god, absolutely YES!!!
Can you go Mugens blade from Samurai Champloo?!!
Seriously. The design is very interesting and much more practical than most anime swords.
"Typhoon Swell"
criixt they so need to be ready with gohan's first sword
Nightmare's Soul Edge from Soul Calibur
or
Shulk's Monado sword from Xenoblade Chronicles.
Both of these swords are really popular in gaming and they're actually be possible to make.
***** Both of those would be epic.
***** I approve those would be awesome.
Deaths sythe from Dante's Inferno
YES I want to see some Soul Caliber weapons!!!!!!!!
Yeah!
In rememberance of Monty, Rubys Scythe from RWBY.
Okay so if they MAYBE do it, they better get Rooster Teeth there to use it, like in the League of Legends episode.
RIP Monty you shall be missed
Make a butter knife from Hell's Kitchen!!!!
YES PLEASE
+Broqen Aynkels YESSS
oh my god yes!
How about just a badass chef's knife?
+Broqen Aynkels one day they're going to do a joke episode where they just make 30 of the most retarded recommendations they get and this will be the highlight where they simply pull a butter knife out of their drawers, hit it with a hammer once, and then call it their masterpiece.
i'd love to see them make tidus' brotherhood :0
and the Ultima wapon or??
***** lmao true
The water bubbles emerging from the sword is gonna be hard to make
In honor of Monty Oum, make something RWBY oriented! Love you Monty!
I think they should do that to I would love to see crescent rose and you don't even have to make the sniper part :)
Adam's or Raven's Sword. Or maybe even the Peter Port's Blunderbuss Axe. Haven't seen that many axes on the is show yet.
They need a to make a gunsmith version of man at arms.
Maybe even Blake's Gambol Shroud, or Crocea Mors, or maybe Stormflower (Ren's Weapon)
Someone above mentioned wanting to see something other than a sword. Another person mentioned wanting to see a Scythe.
I think the conclusion is obvious here.
Ruby's Gunscythe.
Make Torchwick's cane for all I care. RWBY would be an awesome series to take weapons from.
I hope video gets more veiws this had so much effort put in compared to the others that was done in the reforged series.
I agree, I like this newer format. Much more impressive and fun to watch
I still don't like it but compared to the others this one was awesome. They should all be of this standard.
Can you make a scythe? like the one Hidan wields in Naruto? or Maca/Stein in Soul Eater? or Marluxia in Kingdom Hearts? Pick any scythe you want, I'd love to see you making one.
or if you're up for the challenge Abel Nightroad's scythe (when in Krusnik form) from Trinity Blood
Yes! Marluxia's would be sick!!
Duel chaos scythes from darksiders 2 would also look cool
Matt Stagmer Marluxia's scythe from Kingdom Hearts!!
Matt Stagmer I reckon Spirit Albarn's scythe form, for the structural engineering challenge you may face.
i think this one is my favorite because of all the history and accuracy and that you guys want to share :)
I say that again: Soul Reaver.
And maybe Umbra sword from Morrowind/Oblivion?
Robert Baratheon's warhammer? Odin's Gungnir spear?
Yes! Soul Reaver! I've been asking for that one since Tony's forges
Hell Yeah they should make The Soul Reaver XD
All if your suggestions are gold. Umbra would be sick
The soul Reaver
Do the Soul Reaver that would be nice ^^
This is some next level shit right here. Could be your best work yet!
Respect for you my friend
imo frostmourne is their best work.
Now THAT'S how you forge a motherfucking blade.
Awesome, guys. That thing is balanced and looks tough as hell.
August-Phoenix I'm talking about the katana that was called katana. Not a nodachi, tachi, or any other kind of Japanese sword.
This channel is fucking rad.
Keep up the fantastic work.
yeah this build was amazing i'd love to start forging but dont know where to start. i would enjoy a "how to" type video on where to start
Caden Richter that would definitely be interesting.
My favourite part about Auron's Katana is at simple it looks compared to some other fantasy swords. Funny how that contrasts with how much work they had to actually put into it xP
You guys should do a part 2 to every video.. A behind the scenes type of deal
Matt Stagmer Yeah.. A little from each episode that didn't make it to youtube the first time would be awesome
Or soemthing on the lines of. Suggest what we should cut with what weapon! But I guess it would degenrate fast into: "PLEase buy a a super epxensive things and smash it."
The crescent rose scythe from RWBY!! In memory of Mounty Oum!!
Agreed!
No, not Crescent Rose....All of the RWBY Weapons.....
Please do Cloud's 6-part Sword in Final Fantasy: Advent Children
Dude, I've been waiting for that for so long.
Omnimon's Grey sword from Digimon!
Would be epic :D
Holy shet yes!
The Brides sword from Kill Bill, made by Hatori Hanzo.
Pyramid heads dragging blade from silent hill.
I think it's called a Great Knife in one of the Silent Hills
What ever its called they need to make it.
It's the Great Knife, and it's more or less the Buster Sword but less ornate. It'd ALSO eat up a shitton of material to forge.
I second this. The Great Knife would be SICK. Especially if they can show a technique to replicate the gross pattern of it.
I LOVE blades with an extended handle. Not sure why, just feels like if you used it you'd have amazing control and power when needed.
I like Ilya (It is Ilya?)
Blaine Drummond Thank you for watching Man at Arms. My name is Russian and is Anglicized quite a bit by other members of the team. But yes, it is Ilya.
Ilya Alekseyev You seem very capable, in an Ayn Randian sort of way, if that makes any sense.
Ilya Alekseyev i love you´r work. Please Reforge masamune and the buster sword on the same way
Spaxguitar I don't think they re create weapons already made, the only difference it would make is probably the process.
Ilya Alekseyev you are a true master! i loved the star pattern on aryas needle :D
this was just incredible! really appreciate the efford you put into this!
I'll give you 3 million doll hairs for that sword
+Granny Soup Ladle Lol most underrated comment of all time.
LMAO
i can hear in my mind... ENOUGH!
LOL took me literally right into the game again and havent touch it in 10 yrs lmaooo
Okay I have to ask some of you guys something:
HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU STILL ASK FOR TONY?
Only on a few projects he has put that amount of work into the forging (i.e. the hidden blade) like the brothers!
Ancient nordic technique without the blades core? (Fierce Diety)
Forging from scissors?
Sorry...3000+ layers. I realized it myself, no need for pointing it out.
JakeSnake07
because the reforged guys did such abominable things like the batman claws and whatever the fuck that TMNT thing was, tony wouldnt have done that.
Sweet, but like I said, I still LOVE all these other builds too!
Matt Stagmer HUGE one? You actuly decided to do the dragonslayer? o_O Are you crazy?
Matt Stagmer Is the huge one "Yuro" of "One Piece's" "Dracule Mihawk"? :) So many people wanted to see it ever since the first season with Tony :)
nobodi12 They'll give the blade to a bear for the ending demonstration montage XD
Matze Oderso I agree they should do it
Robert's Baratheon hammer is soemthing I would like to see being made, but I uess little people here would enjoy it.
It must be done. Too many weeaboos anyway.
I'm behind this
Did we actually ever get to see how it looked? Isn't it only described in the books?
Oh! Ok, well that makes a lot of sense. Clearly I didn't know what i was talking about XD. Thank you for the clear up!
Hard-shelled fiends are officially screwed.
Shingeki No Kyojin's Corps Blade.
If they made that, the video would be 2 minutes long
Huge boxcutters!
Yes :D
you guys do know you can buy shingeki no kyojin blades easy right? It's called a xacto knife.
No!
Ilya is a true master smith. Absolutely amazing to watch...props to all of these guys, their all amazing
Tidus's Calasbolg would be nice
+Lightmagician60 it's caladbolg :P
Brotherhood is more iconic though :(
caladbolg looks cooler tho
Then we'll agree to disagree :)
In Japanese, the Caladbolg is called "Ultima Weapon."
The Monado from Xenoblade Chronicles!!!
This!
YEAH !!!
Yes. so much Yes.
Muchness of yeses from me.
I'm really feeling it.
The Greatsword of Knight Artorias from DARK SOULS
haha I ask for the same thing
Ditto. :)
I totally agree on this^^ plz do
But wont the curved dragon greatsword look better from darksouls2???
muh undead niggah
These videos are really helping me get through the night shift, great work all round and really interesting to see, big missed opportunity to have Ilya cosplay as Auron here tho 👍🏼😂
Great Sword of Artorias from Dark Souls please!
DRAGONSLAYER (BERSERK) PLEASE I'M POSTING THIS EVERYWEEK, MAKE IT REAL AND FIND SOME ONE WHO LOOKS LIKE GUTS TO CHOP SOME DEMONS MADE OF METAL, THAT WILL BE FUCKIN SWEET!
They would have to seriously alter it to be wieldable since it's estimated to be around 400pounds(181kg)
they could make his gauntlet with the crossbow on it as an alternative, although I do have to say seeing the dragonsalyer be made for real would be amazing
heavenly sword!! www.blogcdn.com/playstation.joystiq.com/media/2007/08/heavenly_sword_render_02.jpg
Awesome choose! *^*
I have also been requesting The Dragonslayer for as long as these videos have been running. I'd love to see it.
Sivir's boomerang for League of Legends?
Cant. Stop. Watching... The skill & artistry is amazing to see.
Ilya is a fucking bad ass.
THIS. 100% this. best episode to date. technically detailed and interesting, excellent camera work and seeing it being forged from almost nothing to this beautiful blade was amazing to watch. i know this isnt your everyday job buy you guys and especially Ilya should be congratulated on the effort and research you put in.
hopefully more quality works and episodes come from you guys in the future.
Sly Coopers cane?
yes
yes yes yes
this is actually a great idea!
Matt Stagmer you should send aurons sword over to zombie go boom
Now there's an idea
Fraternity Sword from Tidus Final Fantasy X
or Jecht Blade From FFX !
Oh man, this seems like one of your most effective blades on the demos you've created.
Kenshin Himura's reverse katana from Samurai X.
Make something NON-LETHAL this time. =D
Btw, Ilya is one hell of a genius blacksmith. =D
Or Aoshi's twin kodachi
CapEtão Gamer Shishio's katana as well
imagine doing sanosukes sword :')
Yeee...kenshin's reverse blade sword it's awesome. .from roruoni kenshin
Excalibur or Kanshou Bakuya from Fate/Stay Night
Finally someone
Nguyễn Như Khoa I thought I've been shouting those swords for a while now...
or Arondight
I was looking for this comment!
Omg this needs to be made. It look soooooo nice
Auron's Katana looks amazing, but can you make a Sword called Tidus' Brotherhood Sword from Final Fantasy X, can you make it Please Please Please!!!!
Michaelcthulhu already made it.
Regina Hilo But, Man At Arms didn't not to make a ( "Tidus' Brotherhood Sword" ) from Final Fantasy X.
Likian5 unfortunately i have to agree here. these guys are metal workers and the brotherhood sword was some kind of magicked glass i guess lol
Likian5 What are you talking about Tidus Brotherhood Sword had never been to build at Man At Arms but If they did It, I'm sure that I'm exciting if we won the first time. I hope you understand Likian5.
make Dragonslayer Spear Dark Souls 1
How about forge a traditional Katana using traditional Japanese methods? That'll be both a challenge and something different.
Not sure if they got the skills for it. A traditional Japanese Katana with the original methods takes long time to make, years of learning and practice to actually complete it like a true master.... Doubt any of them has the time, or has been taught the way to do it. If they would, I'd be more than impressed.
"traditional Japanese methods" are actualy quite primitive and result in brittle blades.
Yeah like the Hatori Hanzo Bride sword from Kill Bill!
***** To be honest, i've been alienated from Japanese culture because of it's dating and work culture. Overall i prefer South Korean culture.
Matt Stagmer great work this episode! Could I suggest Saber's (King Authur) Excalibur from Fate/Zero? P.S. I also never would have guessed you like SourceFed!
Akame's Murasame? from Akame ga kill
Someone agrees with me finaly
BeastySmasher тм *virtual fist bump* Incursio in Sword state and spear state would be pretty cool too.
i would kill to see that and "juzo's Jason" from Tokyo ghoul root a
Yes They Should do that
Joshua Acob I mean it's so unique but I would be soon Friggen difficult to build but I have faith in them they have been doing pretty good lately
ORCRIST FROM THE HOBBIT PLS!!
Yesssss Plsssss!!!!!
Yeeeees, I want it tooo=)
They did a ton of lord of the rings crap, fuck off
Shadowtechnik 3 is a ton? and i'm counting sting (which in to them was a hobbit weapon and not lord of the rings, but since it's the same universe i'll count it). if 3 is a ton to you then i'd hate to see you playing a sport! I SCORED A TON TODAY! 4 points.
sportzaddict15 In soccer it is ;)
Ilya's face at the end when he hit the tree, classic. xDDDD
What about Ice, Ned Stark's sword? Or Arya's needle?
Ice would be a good choice because it is able to be flashy and realistic!
very awesome piece. Too bad it isn't very functional (because of the size) but it's a perfect replica and the build was very interesting.
Marco Faccio A sword is made to fit the man, not the other way around. ;P
Maybe if you try "cutting through armor" with it, it would break (you're not really supposed to do that)
You said it yourself, it's not balanced to battle.
It doesn't have a guard. It's too thick.
It's a great replica, great build but it's not a functional weapon in our world.
Just out of curiosity, what do you guys do with your creations after you're done with them?
Same here
They probably put them on display at their shop.
Gamer Dan I think they just keep them for display as they can't sell them due to copy right
i think they just display them on their shops (Tony said due to copyright you cannot make actual profit from those swords)
i think that they put them on display or auction them off on like ebay or somewhere
Why didn't I find this channel a long time ago is beyond me. This channel rocks!
The sword is impressive but they almost impressed me more cutting that tree by chance.
This is absolutely wicked! I didn't know Auron's weapon is classified as a katana though...? Kinda... I dunno? Big for a katana.
If I'm not mistaken, it's a "zanpatou"
SilverAuron um...no
SilverAuron that's only in bleach where every effing sword is a zanpakuto (which is a fictional name that isn't what the swords are called.)
this classifies as something more like a nodachi/tachi (more nodachi)
I'm pretty sure I never wrote zampakuto, and zanpatou Is a term I took from a book so excuse me if a belive it more than some random person on the internet, also a tachi usually just a sligtly longer sttraighter and wider katana, wile a nodachi is a long katana, Sephiroth's masamune classifies as one. Also the dimension of this particular "replica" is wrong, Auron's is bigger.
Bree Peng in that case i think the sword would fall under "fantasy"
Genesis form Final Fantasy 7 crisis core his sword would be awesome
make the Bloodborne Saw Cleaver!
Definately this^
YES THIS
Maybe you could forge The Witcher's silver sword next?
Yes the witchers silver sword :D
That would be awesome!!!
Tidus Brotherhood plsss in final fantasy x!
+Fizz Uddin Man that would be a though one tho
Yup. Unfortunately :(
+Fizz Uddin The Brotherhood isn't made of metal. It's made of some sort of semi liquid crystal that manages not to shatter after a few good blows.
+Lobomaru02
It's a fishtank sword but with no fish : )
HellChuggapri1
That sword should have had fish in it.
I would love to see Kenshin Himura's reverse blade sword!
yes, kenshin himura's reversed katana!! want it! want it!
it'd be awesome if they did kenshins himuras sakabato
Andrew Scott I own one. Lol. It's pretty dope. My favorite blade in my collection.
Greatsword of Artorias from Dark Souls!
Black Sword Yoru of Mihawk, One Piece please :D
So much this !
Yes! Been wanting this one for ages! :D
Yes it will be awesome
i have been asking that for ages too
It would be awesome, but not possible for them because its so huge. But if they did do it id clap :D
10:35 Now that's what I call taking out the trash.
I managed to miss this one until now. They started out awesome and have just upped their game ever since.
you guys are so awsome!!! I love the wapons you made
the technique, the sword, all you do is so cool
you have my highest respect!!
Matt Stagmer really you guys just get better and better, also the Orcrist from the Hobbit would be cool.
Matt Stagmer Fantastic work on forging this blade!!
I would love to see Lu Bus ``Sky Piercer```( dynasti warriors)
looks great! my only complaint is that the handle is completely round. A completely cylindrical handle is not ideal because it is difficult get the edge alignment right, because the handle feels the same all the way around, and in turn it is difficult to cut all the way through tougher objects.
+Joshua Barger
Your only complaint is that they made it right? That seems kind of odd to me.
+Joshua Caine
It LOOKS great, and is perfectly accurate to the game. perfectly round grips are just not ideal for actual blade handles.
Soul Calibur from Soul Calibur series pls
that or either the Soul Edge!
And.... for every sequel, they appear different too ._.
I was thinking the classic 2 bladed sword, with the space in the middle.
The look on Illya's face when he didn't mean to hit the tree. hahahaha
