This video should be provided with every purchase of a GV15. I just added an SSD to my machine, and it couldn't have been any easier, especially with this video.
i just bought this computer for my son. I know eventually I'm going to want to upgrade it. I wish your business was closer to me!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to post this!
Knowledgeable guy - picking up my MSI from Dale tomorrow!
this was amazingly helpful good sir, after following it step by step i was able to upgrade my msi no problem. you are a gentleman and a scholar!
Thx my friend
Thanks for the help! Added more and and a 1tb crucial 2.5inch ssd babyyy
thanks i just got me one of those and i am glad you made this video cause i am planning a full upgrade as you did and i have the parts being shipped now :) thank you again
Thank you so much for the detailed guide on how to upgrade a laptop of this model.
I did everything as you did! And everything is perfect!
All the best to you and family prosperity!
Hello from California
Are you an alien?👽 I’m looking for space friends, pretty much all the time. 👾
@@Enoughguy No, I'm from the planet Neptune, we don't like aliens.))))
I'm not even a gamer, but the price beats any other computer.
just got one of these and your video saved me so much time and effort, it was so easy, youre a real one
Another good video for the library. 👍
Thank you for taking the time in making this video, was thinking about doing all those upgrades on mine
I liked this video very much. I needed something in addition to this. I did not want to clone but use my usb bootable to install . So not a complaint just needed more. thank you !
Great video! thanks for sharing.
Unfortunately, MSI did not make the back strip cover's clips very strong. I broke 4 very small clips trying to close it up again 😥
nice this'll help when mine arrives
Thanks for tutorial
ty mate, changed my life
Thank you very much!!
Thanx for the video. Easily upgradeable?? I don't think so compared to other ones you've upgraded.
That intro though, nice… hehehe
Thank you so much for this step by step tutorial of how to break down and upgrade this laptop. This video is 100% the reason i just ordered this same laptop.
thanks for video.
Thank you for the instructions. I followed along and changed out my ssd and ram and it seems like everything is working great. The only thing is the computer doesn’t want to turn on if it isn’t plugged in. Once it’s on it can be unplugged and works great but it doesn’t want to turn on with just the battery. Have you ever heard of that happening?
good explanatory video
Thank for the video
I also have an msi laptop. A step up from this. But I’m forced to use and external ssd because my storage gets full quick. I also don’t want to max out internal storage and just run like that day to day This video is helpful about cloning and everything. What would kind of internal ssd would you recommend to upgrade to. I use it for gaming. Also can you upgrade processor or gpu? Thanks for making the video keep ‘em coming!
Also what do those 2 16 gb ram do compared to 1 8gb. What does it help. One last q. Are internal ssd’s universal size wise for laptops. Are ram universal in size. Or do I need ones specifically for my laptop. Thanks if you got a minute for some info!
This comment is old so you might have upgraded already, but in case anyone else is wondering: I have this exact model and bought a 2TB Crucial PCIe 3.0 NVMe M.2 SSD. It's perfect for this model, but I'd still double check if it's a different MSI!
+1 and sub, thanks for the tutorial video
The last part to put back onto the laptop isn’t snapping back on the right corner all the way.
I'm the 700th like 🔥
Very good video
Is it ever cost-effective to upgrade a laptop processor?
I know I'm not Dale with all his infinite wisdom however, It is rarely possible to upgrade your laptop CPU since the early 2000s unless you can find a motherboard with the exact same layout with everything in the correct spot. Short answer: No.
@@nathanb4390 so the only way would be if your current motherboard was capable of supporting a better model of processor than what's in it currently I guess
New to your channel do you show thermal paste replacement and when should you?
I got the exact same model 15 days ago and I didn't find any bracket inside for 2.5 inch. So I asked shopkeeper he said it's come like this. What a liar. But he did upgrade for me by putting sticky tape on both sides.
Realy good video but o jave a question for some reason on the crucial websight it shows that the mx500 isn't compatible with my laptop even though it's the same one as yours
nice video
Could you link the ram where you got it online
What is the point of the sata SSD? do I have to also add that
The back piece does not fit well on the ends after putting it back in, any help?
I upgraded and add 16gb of ram and 512gb of storage to my msi laptop and it’s now stuck on msi click bios any reason why?
Sir I have msi gp 76, can i put inside ssd of tickness 4.5 mm ? (depth)
can you please explain what the cloning does or mean
I upgraded the ssd and ram and now when I boot up I’m getting msi click bios… any idea the issue
What about windows? How do you reinstall it?
ya que la bateria le dura muy poco, como lo puedo solucionar?
la compre y eso noto igual sabes cual es la ram que trae integrada quiero comprar una exactamente igual
pon la pantalla a 60hz ya que por default viene con los 144hz y gasta más batería
This looks extremely complicated. guess ill stick with an external hard drive
I just want to get more storage on my computer so I can download FNAF security breach
Do you need to format the new ssd before cloning?
Ops didn't know what that bracket thing was for lol so that why my 2.5 SDD kinda loss in the laptop LOL im sure it will be fine no idea were the bracket at think i throw it aways LOL
Hey dale can show me model by1022cl I’m not sure my do I have a standard hdd or should I upgrade ssd or buy m.2 what u perfer have bad hard drive
Que tipo de memoria ram le puedo poner?
ddr4 sodim 3200mhz
If I am only replacing the ram do I not need to disconnect the battery?
Just be very careful if you do not disconnect it. Better safe than sorry though.
Thanks! Is the ram safe to install without disconnecting the battery as long as I don’t drop a screw on the motherboard?
I can put in this model an Ssd NVMe M.2 PCIe 4.0? Or it's only works with PCIe 3.0?
4.0 will work, but at 3.0 speed. Np
puedo cambiar la bateria?
Where are you located? And I have some questions for you.
Cadillac, Michigan
Why is it keep send to the bios help
how many inches is the compatible ssd or hdd?
I have same computer in video. He installed 2 drives. The second drive he installed was 2.5 in ssd. The first drive he installed was m.2 nvme ssd (size of stick of gum) with OS on it. I believe the gum stick drive here is 2280 form factor (22mm x 80mm).
I just bought this laptop, do I have to upgrade it in order to game?
I was able to play some basic games without any problems before upgrading it. Was playing games like halo, little nightmares 2 and bioshock infinite just fine. Had to upgrade the ram to play elden ring.
@@mycoolbagel2962 What kind of RAM did you use, can I buy one 8gb slab. And will it work in dual channel mode
@@d.d890.. Corsair vengeance 2x16 32gb at 3200mhz and yes you can just get a matched 8gb stick if you wanted to go that route.
@@mycoolbagel2962 I also don't understand, to add memory do I have to buy a hard drive? Because first he put the RAM, then on the left he put a small same size slab, and then the big thing.
Which one of these adds memory?
I just need to add 1 terabyte of free memory. And one 8GB RAM slab.
Please help. I should at least put 1 terabyte of memory so I can download what I need without problems
@@mycoolbagel2962 I just don't understand English well, I live in Sacramento if you can help that would be cool.
I just want to know what I need to buy in order to increase the free memory as 256GB. It's not enough.
Warranty is void
nah it was just transferred over to dales shop. If anything goes wrong bring it in he said :)
А по русски???
6 months ago, mine comes with 32 gigs of ram.
