In the original (black and white version) everyone in the comments were trying to figure out the plot. Some said it was about homosexuality, others said grief and some said it was what it appeared to be. I’ve just found out it’s about schizophrenia and the artist is who is hallucinating the boy and considering David’s family history I wonder if he took this role for more than just to get more recognised. I love this movie btw I’ve watched it like 1000 times 😅
This is very early David Bowie. I've never saw this before, it's a real treat for me. I've been a David Bowie fan for nearly 56 years and I'm just now seeing this for the first time. It's wonderful to see this early film footage of such a young David Bowie. An artist of such obvious talent, it's a shame we lost David so soon. A truly gifted artist & entertainer. I really enjoyed this video. Can't thank you enough for taking the time to share this treasure with all of us David Bowie fans. It's truly special thanks again for sharing this video. ❤
I'd rank this film a solid 10 on the Bowie scale. A scale I made to rank media that David Bowie was involved based on how much David Bowie energy is exuded from said media
Yes indeed! I can't quite make up my mind whether the startling impact when Bowie appears in this shortie is due to his "unusual" face and the look of possession in it - or just from suddenly recognizing him, the "oh YES that's him!" factor.
I wonder if the beautiful promo video for "Look Back in Anger" (1978) doesn't contain a nod to this one - that one too has a portrait of Bowie, as a gmournful angel, but now with Bowie himself as the painter! Also interesting scenes where his face is disfigured and smudged in the mirror.
A friend of mine started to paint and turned schizophrenic and delusionistic. He'd never picked up a brush, as long as I've known him and he was quite well at it; I mean Chelsea art district caliber talent. But then he lost his mind and also some years later tried to murder me in my doorway. Yes Yves, if you're reading this, it's me. I hope you have come to your senses, but don't reach out to me,. Thank you for all you've done but no chances of the trust being assumed @ this point. My OAN
I suppose I shouldn’t comment because all the other people that commented liked this, but I think it’s dreadful. It’s trite. I think the idea of the film is actually good, but it looks like something someone would’ve made in junior high in a film class. Just my opinion! I love Bowie.
Mmm, is this so-called film an attempt to be surreptitiously gay I wonder? Especially given that the the Sexual Offences Act (1967) was being debated at the time. Coincidence?
That young actor...I think he'll go far.
its amazing to see movies of people 60 years ago young and alive

Truely fantastic and totally of its time.
Although bowie was always ahead of the game.
I’ve never seen in color!
This is amazing David Bowie is truly the goat
loving the cable sweater
So Bowie was eleven years ahead of Michael Myers, impressive.
The thumbnail is hot.
I've wondered if this film was a precursor (in 'idea')- for the video 'Look Back in Anger'? Probably.
david definitely felt something when he got choked by that man..
Hypnotic.

Bowie on his deathbed said "Keep Turner & his goddamn Crayolas away from my movie!"
Sense of Doubt would go well with this.
Nooo mi pobre Duquesito 🥺 era sólo un bebé!! 🥲💕
El joven David
Was that a Bowie Knife he used? Also the painting looks a bit more Iggy than David.
진짜 감사합니다!!!!!!!!!!!!!
한국분이 댓글다셨네ㅋㅋㅋ
Stabby stardust. Sorry. Couldn't help myself.
Definitely a metaphor for repressed homosexuality. And who better than David Bowie to play the part?
I interpreted it in the same way because I felt identified.

It's from 1969, not 1967.

Trate de entenderla y quedé igual ¿Quién se supone que era el chico de la foto y por qué lo pintaba y luego lo mata?
Queda sujeto a libres interpretaciones. En mi caso, la posibilidad que se me ocurre más factible es que sea un hermano muerto...
What is movie?
It's not a movie, it's a short film. basically it's all you saw in the video
The Image

I think so, although I can’t to sure. I was thinking the same thing lol
Yeah, I think that's the meaning too.
Pink Floyd music
Excellent.
