This beautiful music set to the famous text from 16th century Coventry has become one of our Christmas favorites. Philip Stopford's music expresses both serenity, torment and beauty. Recorded in Gustaf Adolfskyrkan during En Kör's Christmas concert 21 December 2019 "En Riktigt, Riktigt God Jul".

LYRICS
Lully, lullay, Thou little tiny Child,
Bye, bye, lully, lullay.
Lullay, thou little tiny Child,
Bye, bye, lully, lullay.
O sisters too, how may we do,
For to preserve this day
This poor youngling for whom we do sing
Bye, bye, lully, lullay.
Herod, the king, in his raging,
Charged he hath this day
His men of might, in his owne sight,
All young children to slay.
That woe is me, poor Child for Thee!
And ever mourn and sigh,
For thy parting neither say nor sing,
Bye, bye, lully, lullay. - Видеоклипы
Absolutely beautiful and sublime.
I love this song, and I honestly couldn't care less that it's longer. I like longer, lets me listen more! :D Wonderful job!
absolutely beautiful, God bless!
Gorgeous, well done.
Jättebra och jättevacker!
Superbe !
O so nice
This is so, so beautiful! Thank you friends… ❤🙏
great voices, but your tempo is about68 bpm and the music indicates 100bpm-this adds almost a whole minute to the overall performance. While I am all for artistic licence and interpretation and I can listen to this piece on repeat for hours, but this seem to drag a bit to my taste.
A little too slow for me but very, very good.
Better on the slow side then rushing through it
that's what I thought, especially after listening to several other versions, but good control, kudos to the soloist on high note!
I honestly prefer it slower. This is supposed to be a mournful, tragic piece.
Beautiful.
D.
beautiful
That was ever so good. Thank you so much! God bless you all. And I do hope that we all can sing together soon again.
Oh, thank you
Admirable interpretación ✨
