Thanks for watching! I'm launching a new travel vlog every week, so stay tuned. Travel Lord On Location is a new channel, so please SUBSCRIBE and turn on NOTIFICATIONS if you enjoy my content and want to see my travel adventures.
    About this Bursa vlog:
I’m very happy that I got a chance to see Bursa, a city overflowing with history from the Ottoman Empire. I learned a lot and got to see some amazing historical and cultural attractions, including:
    Cumalıkızık Village
    Mount Uludağ
    Irgandı Bazaar Bridge
    Koza Han
The Grand Mosque of Bursa (Ulu Cami)
    Osmangazi Türbesi
    Orhangazi Türbesi
I also got to try a local Turkish delicacy. Everyone I talked to told me I had to have an İskender Kebab when I went to Bursa. Wow! What an amazing Turkish food! I will be forever thankful to İskender Efendi for coming up with it!
    About Bursa’s History:
Bursa has a rich history that dates back to ancient times. Initially known as Prusa, it was founded by the Bithynian King Prusias I in 202 BC, who named it after himself. The city's strategic location near the Sea of Marmara made it an important regional center in antiquity.
In the Byzantine era, Bursa served as a key administrative and commercial hub, benefiting from its position on major trade routes. Its importance grew further under the Ottoman Empire, which made it their first capital in 1326. This period marked Bursa's golden age; it became a center of learning, culture, and commerce. The city's architecture flourished, with the construction of mosques, madrasas (Islamic schools), and hans (caravanserais), many of which still stand today.
Bursa also played a significant role in the development of Ottoman silk production, with its silk market becoming one of the most important in the empire. The city's thermal baths, fed by natural hot springs, were another highlight, drawing visitors from across the region.
The city's significance waned slightly after the Ottoman capital was moved to Edirne and later to Istanbul, but Bursa remained an important regional center. Today, it is known for its historical sites, lush parks, and as a gateway to the Uludağ mountains, a popular ski resort area. Bursa's rich heritage reflects its pivotal role in the region's history, blending elements from the Hellenistic, Byzantine, and Ottoman periods.
    About Bursa Tourism:
Bursa, a captivating city in northwest Turkey, is renowned for its rich historical and cultural heritage. As the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, it boasts a wealth of architectural wonders, including grand mosques like the Ulu Cami, known for its 20 domes and exquisite calligraphy, and the Yeşil Türbe, a stunningly tiled mausoleum. Bursa is also famous for its thermal baths, dating back to Roman times, offering relaxation and wellness to visitors. The city's bazaars, particularly the Silk Bazaar (Koza Han), provide a glimpse into its historical role in the silk trade, offering a variety of textiles and local crafts. Nestled against the backdrop of the Uludağ Mountains, Bursa is a gateway to one of Turkey's most popular ski resorts, attracting outdoor enthusiasts year-round. Additionally, its delicious cuisine, including the famous İskender kebab, adds to the city's allure, making Bursa a multifaceted destination for tourists seeking history, culture, and natural beauty.

I watched many vlogs about Turkiye but your vlog is the best so far in regards to Turkiye and Turkish culture. Not only you visit other cities that many tourists or foreigners would not even bother to see but also you give very niche and interesting local and historical facts about these places. Keep up the good work and good luck on your future endeavors.

bursa is actually known for "green bursa" which was real in the past. the reason why they call it green is because the city was under all green trees, forests and has cool traditional ottoman houses inside. but now, it's fully covered with soulless gray reinforced concrete buildings. unfortunately we couldn't protect it from that. many of us think that it's like a betrayal for this historical city. maybe you want to check out its old photos on the internet and see how it was look like. thank you for making such videos, keep going!

İtalians saw the food and turned to Pizza (in italian sound t comes if u see too zz , like read pizza as pitza or read piazza as piatza (square) .

It’s not bazar in Turkish but Pazar, which means a Market or Sunday ( the day of marketing) in Turkish
It’s not a kebab but Kebap in Turkish and it doesn’t mean at all the meat of the Döner(Çevirme in the East of Anatolia) Kebap is an adjective of Persian origin I think, and it means Delight or Delightful
So you have ate a delightful İskender (Alexander in Turkish) with Döner meat (or Çevirme as we’re call it in East Anatolia to read Tchevirme like Tchécoslovacia the same Tch sound like Tchetchen is Ç in Turkish)
Second huge mistakes, those hats in the Pazar are not at all Fez but KALPAK a Central Asian traditional hat of Turkic people
Fez is not Turkish neither Turkic, it’s origin comes from Ancient Greek sailors of antiquity and the Turks have rediscovered it very late in ottoman history, in 1820, in Morocco called the kingdom of Fas in Turkish which gave its Turkish name of Fez cause Sultan Mahmut the Second launch the Tanzimat ( The Reforms of the modernization of the ottoman state) and a visible sign was the adoption of this new hat called Fez in Turkish

Osman and Orhan are actually known as Beys (Lord and/or Chief) as they were just independent tribal warlords, although very good ones. Orhan's successor Murad I was the first Ottoman monarch that used the titles Sultan and Khan. Also the Emperor title of the Ottomans, the Padishah was first used by Mehmed II the Conqueror as he was the one that captured the seat of New Rome (Constantiople) and styled himself Kayser-î Rûm (Caesar of Rome)
Consequently the Ottoman State was known as the Ottoman Beylik in times of Osman and Orhan but became the Ottoman Sultanate with the reign of Murad I Hüdavendigar and didn't actually become the Ottoman Empire until the reign of Mehmed II Fatih.
Edit: This is actually really pronounced with the turbans that are above their coffins. Orhan captured a city (Bursa) and established complex government structures and so I guess he styled himself with the title of Sultan. Because his turban's style symbolizes the sedentary institutions of the fledgling Ottoman State whereas Osman's börk has a much more nomadic and tribal style, it is not even a turban.

Except Egypt perhaps there is no other place on this earth that has more history and cultural richness than Anatolia or Asia Minor it has seen so many civilizations so many empire fighting succeeding to one another from the hittites to the Achaemenid empire to Alexander the Great the Byzantine Roman Empire the Seljuk the timurid and lastly the Osmanli absolutely fascinating soil the Turks came from the altai nomadic warriors respect to the Turkic Mongols

You should check the earlier photographs of Bursa (1900-1930s). The governments after our glorious leader Atatürk were all contributed to the destruction of our traditional architecture. Owing to the migrations coming from the east, our beautiful cities lost their culture. If west had a city like Bursa, it would keep it in a glass jar and charge everyone looked at it...
