A few points on this :- 1. The weights are incorrect, or rather the numbers quoted are measured against a different standard. Of course the Plus is lighter - that is one of the selling points of the car; carbon front and rear diffuser, fixed carbon spoiler etc. The 1630kg quoted for the Plus is an EC weight and includes a 75kg driver, the 1595kg quoted for the V10 in a DIN weight and excludes driver weight. Come on AutoExpress, you should know this. So on a like for like basis, the weights should be :- V10 1595kg (DIN) 1670 kg (EC) V10+1555kg (DIN) 1630 kg (EC) The Plus is lighter by 40kg 2. As mentioned in some comments, the gear ratios are different. First and Second gears are the same, but 3rd to 7th are higher geared on the V10 and on that spec 7th is more of a cruising gear. I doubt the V10 reached 7th in that video 3. Dyno tests have shown that the actual differences between the two variants is more in the region of 30hp and not 70hp. Its controlled by software and not any mechanical engine differences. You can "unlock" the V10 power to V10+ power with a simple tune though you may say goodbye to your warranty. 4. If you look at this months hard copy of Topgear the V10 was actually marginally faster than the V10 plus from 0-100mph although it doesn't state if the test conditions were the same.
BHRxRACER I doubt the coefficient of drag on these two is much different.. that wing looks tiny! And if they finish at 160-170 mph I would assume the part where the standard r8 is gaining they are traveling ~140mph.. small wing causing that much drag that a car with 70 hp more is getting pulled on? Curious, I feel like the weight savings might have more to do with it
guys guys its just poor editing... in the footage the slower car is gaining HARD (cuz the v10 plus has stopped accelerating) they make a lot of runs .. this footage is just from another run where the v10 + lift of for some reason... just check the speeds at the finish line... the v10 is not gaining on the v10 +... that is for sure.

Very close race. Huracan will be quicker after about 150 KPH. Unless its a fully decked out V10 Plus with full carbon options and bucket seats. If the V10 doesn't have that, it will lose to the Huracan because of its significant weight disadvantage.
like I say, at this price point you aren't bothered about saving a few grand, especially if you are potentially invalidating your warranty and insurance.
In this case you can just take the normal one and get a ECU remap which then gives you same or more hp as the v10 plus. Audi always just cuts the ignition a bit or something like that on the normal v10 to let it make less hp than it can. Of course if you want to fully spec out the car getting the v10 plus should give you a bit of a price advantage like 911 turbo vs turbo s
The plus had finished the kilometer.....that is all! At no speed interval would the standard model be quicker. Just a bit silly to show that in the video tbh
They make alot of runs. Each car is timed individually, so you see the v10 + jumps the start but in the very next scene its behind, then infront again.. then the v10 is catching on the v10 + but it actually isnt... all of this is because this is footage from a few different runs.... so in this kind of videos all you want to watch is the times...and trap speed... cuz the footage never makes any sense...just ignore the footage.

You need a disproportionately large increase in power for supercars to push the envelope on driving experience.A 13% increase does little, certainly at the top end. If you increase the power in a Honda Jazz from 89 bhp to 101 bhp, then there is a large change in performativity. Getting the power down for supercars seems to be as important as huge increases in power.

0-60 is defined by the grip, thats why Model s is a monster. 60-180 is defined by the power and gear ratio, thats why Regera is a monster. 200+ is defined by choosing cooling or drag, thats why Mclaren F1 reaches 15 miles per hour less than the Veyron with half as much horsepower.
Unfortunately there is no spoiler delete option on the Plus. I agree with you; the spoiler spoils (sorry can't come up with a better word) the lines of the car.
Redge Diakité Well I've seen people retrofit an electric spoiler on the Audi A5 and S5 Coupé which doesn't have it like the RS5. So I'm pretty sure it is or at least will be possible
The V10 plus is the car with the fixed rear wing, but to more directly answer the question: on the shots that were looking at the car's rears, the V10 plus is on the right.
But the V10 plus is nearly as expensive as a Huracan with better design and available in Spyder. The R8 spyder is avaiblable only in the 540 PS version.
The wing from Audi is 6k, and you still haven't got the ceramic brakes, all the rest of the carbon, or shorter gearing. The plus is actually a bargain.
I like wings at the back, but the R8 looks much cleaner without it. PS Would be nice to see more of this kind of vids, f.e. Porsche "non s" against "s" PS2 The video doesn't make sense at all. If the non plus was gaining at the end, it means it should travel at a higher speed. But it wasn't? I guess the results come from a different run.

It comes with 20k of carbon on the car, carbon ceramic brakes, shorter gear ratios, better rear diff, better exhaust and performance mode. The plus is a bargain compared to the non, and obviously worth more when you sell it.

The audi V10 is a lighter car as well remeber that compared to the V10 plus.
