    What I find amazing in the 81 comments here is that nobody has mentioned the great Steve Upton.!
    Without question, one of the best drummers of his generation. Thanyou Mr Upton, along with Martin Turner they were the driving force of this wonderful band.

    Some of the best concert nights of my life were spent watching the band in the 70s, especially in the period just before this
    concert. All members were just so damn good, nobody ever mentions the excellent Steve Upton on drums. I read somewhere
    he now runs a guest house in France, I wonder if he ever thinks back to those days.

      Even though it says the date of the show is 5. 1. 74. That doesn't mean May first, this is the English way of showing dates, which in this case this "broadcast" was shown on TV, January fifth, 74. Or was this the concert date too ? Can't trace down exactly when this was filmed. Ted Turner (right hand side) played his last show on February 23, 74. He did rejoin in May, 89. I saw them, first time at the old Auditorium Theatre, in Chicago in Sept. 73, ("Flash", were the warm up band), then again, the day after Thanksgiving 73, Nov. 23. At a High School gymnasium in Wheeling, Illinois. They were so fantastic, blew everyone away.

    • @Flight343GateC
      @Flight343GateC 11 месяцев назад

      The presenter in introduction says that this concert took place last December, 15th (so in 1973). But this date isn't mentioned on the different archived tour dates which are on the dedicated websites (for instance Martin's one or in the book written by Andy)
