Wishbone Ash - Rock Milestones - Argus - Full Documentary (Subs: ES/FR/DE/IT/SV)
Просмотров 54 тыс.Год назад
In 1972 Wishbone Ash struck gold with their third album Argus, which helped propel the band to superstar status. The album made Wishbone Ash one of the most popular rock bands in the world. Argus was a truly original album that saw the band at their commercial and creative peak. Argus contained epic, often medieval, themes, brilliant vocal harmonizing, insturmental precision, and arguably the b...

Savatage - Follow Me (Gateway Theater, Chicago, IL, USA - August 6, 1993)
I was there!! I lived in Finsbury Park at that time, a short walk to the Rainbow, first band I saw there ❤
Nice footage, but it would have been great to have subtitles during the interview sessions instead of that droning French voice! Great group, though…a lifelong favorite of mine!🎸
Best band EVER
Steve Upton on fire!
Tell me we’re gonna get a multi channel hi res Blu-ray or DVD remix!!! Love these cats since forever
I am a big OG Wishbone Ash fan. I really like Wishbone Four, although Argus is great too. Have all the albums 70's and 80's with the original members. Saw them in the later 70's with other guitarist and then in about 1980 and 1995.
They are one of my favorites bands love their music 😊
Great music. I love it!
The core of Lord, Blackmore and Paice is the main engine that propelled all hard rock to the next decade, alongside Led Zeppelin, after Hendrix death...
w ash nice work keep long time. very good band. i say one word. over/

...helpless in our surrender..." and boy we sure were in 1972 Martin Turner the choir boy stole it.
Sin duda uno de mis grupos preferidos de Reino Unido . Junto con ,.. Manfred Mann’ s Earth Band Barclay James Harvest Wishbone Ash Caravan Camel 😊😊
I saw them in New Mexico and have always been curious about the 'Zia' patch on Ted Turner's guitar strap, it was also Steve Uptons birthday and they brought a birthday cake with candles on stage , very cool show !
SENSATIONAL
Sound is crap.
My cousin Jon turned me on to Wishbone Ash. I bought this record when it came out in '72. I graduated from high school that year and have loved it from the first time I brought it home and played it on my stereo. It is still one of my all-time favorite records to this day. Blowin' Free still finds me dancing around the house playing air guitar. Thanks for this fantastic documentary on Wishbone Ash.
The Mule drumsolo has become a classic - far better than a Bonham solo :D
Fantastic footage of the boys in their prime.
I bought "Argus" in our Squadron NAAFI shop in Germany circa 1974, 45 years later, I finally watched them live. Well worth the wait !
Ted Turner gave this band a really different feel to subsequent line ups.
❤I love Deep Purple❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Otro disco donde Powell toca muy bien es From pages news
I was at this gig! I am fairly sure Family were the support band.
Andy is such a melodic soloer.
proper documentary about a proper rock band.
I've been a lifelong fan of WA since they started up - seen them many times and even joined their fan club back then. But I must say, that the first 3 albums are masterpieces, then Wishbone 4 was fair to middling. After that it all seemed to go tits up. Until New England, which is an amazing album - so very underrated. Then that twat Andy Powell really cut off his nose. At which point I had to stop watching this 'documentary'. Showing the twat's "new" band playing the old classics is just ridiculous. And interesting that he does not contribute to the film. Great that Martin took it in his stride and keeps on going - they've just completed a US tour and continue to play. He is still the world's greatest living bass player. Rock on Martin and the guys. If the original 'documentary' film maker and Martin want to hit me up, I will be happy to make the definitive Wishbone Ash film.
GREAT BAND...CLASSIC INSTRUMENTAL ..
Really enjoyed this thank you Martin and Ted and also thank you to Josue for the upload, loved it!!!
Que malo es el cantante
I remember recording Jail Bait, late at night on the family radio-cassette, aged about 11? This was before I even realised what rock music was... But I KNEW this "song" was head and shoulders above all the other stuff that was being played!
Totally boring. No soul or feeling. Yawn.
Son are you sure sure you only drinking alcohol
The contribution from Martin Turner on bass and lead vocals is so often overlooked and under appreciated. Take him out of the sound and you have a completely different band - a good one no doubt, but so much of that unique wishbone sound gone. I’d argue that if Martin had left WA in place of Ted Turner, the band would have folded. Thanks also to everyone in the comments for recognising the immense talent of Steve Upton, an epic drummer. I heard that he moved to France. Is he still living there?
Argus a fabulous album. Crummiest album cover of all time.
Made in Japan the best album ever 🎸👍👍👍
Wishbone Ash on their feet and still Delivering great tunes and twin guitars..
Can’t agree with Whispering Bob’s Deep Purple analysis. With Lord and Blackmore trading lead / solo work, they were more innovative than anyone else at the time 😎
Loved Martin’s early Ric bass sound
The Best1
Great band Great name...Argus number 1... Front page news number 2...which has my favorite song..Goodbye baby hello friend...
Una pena que esa voz destrozara lo que podria haber sido el mejor disco de Avalanch
Written by Lawrie & Claire Hamell
I met criss on this tour , unfortunately it was his last.RIP to the great one! talent taken too soon
If you want to experience a good documentary about Deep Purple, this is it. The British are incomparable.
Saw them live at the Performing Arts Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin... 1973.. great show...
They were a much more interesting band when they had the jazz and folk influences of their early albums. Laurie Wisefield was a good replacement for Ted Turner. His guitar work in his previous band, Home, was excellent. I don't know why the critics label him as previously a rhythm player. As their sound became more americanised, they're sound was less distinctive, they sounded like other bands. They were never as good without Martin Turner's bass guitar and vocals. I can't get interested in the Andy Powell-led Wisbone Ash.
MADE IN JAPAN, LED ZEPPELIN ROYAL ALBERT HALL 1970 AND THE WHO IN THE ISLE OF WIGHT. MY ADVICE TO NOWADAYS' KIDS TO HAVE THE WHOLE KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT WAS DONE ON STAGE IN PRE-TRICK TIMES
The phrasing is simply incredible here. As if the solo was played by the Muses themselves.
It's a miracle all four members of the original lineup are still alive.
