HOT TAKE: Making the prologue have a trial was a REALLY SMART MOVE, in that it really made the characters lock solid in players’ minds. It really got us all attached from the jump, which made these deaths more impactful. I apologize for the mass comments but I’m super friggin excited for the future of this series!!!
Also it gave everyone a chance to be in a trial, which is nice for those of us who had a favorite character who died first. I saw at least one person whose favorite character was Wolfgang
I swear I went “what was that chapter” at the end of it, I didn’t expect ANYTHING, I had so many theories but everything that did actually happen was so obvious as it was messed up
Nah this execution was amazing, it’s SUPPOSED to be disturbing, it is an execution after all. It was a perfect mix of scary and dramatic, I hope the others are just like this one
We hope you enjoyed CH1: Beneath the Veil of Hypocrisy. Do look out for a behind the scenes video in the future for the making of this chapter. We hope to see you next time…until then, enjoy all the content that took us 2 years to release~
This was quite literally the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. Every time I thought I had thought I had an idea of what was going on it completely changed. Very, VERY engaging I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Phenomenal work! ❤️
4:46:14 omg I love how the killer is actually properly defending themselves and even has a plan for what happens if they get revealed in the trial.. to frame someone ELSE and stay calm etc.. this trial is very well done!
Except for the noticeable 45 minutes gap logic in between Diane arriving and the explosion. Diane arrived at 8.45 A.M. and explosion happened at 9.30-9.45 A.M. (around that time). So question is... WHAT was happening in that timeframe? Judging by Diane's story everything ended in 5 minutes or so... where did all that time go?
@@mr.needlestan2954Well what Diana was describing was just a summary. And a summary that long obviously lasted for a while. We don’t know how long she tried to defend herself. She said she waited for Wolfgang to grab her hand. We don’t know how long she waited, and stuff like that. I’m willing to bet that Diana and Wolfgang’s quarrel was a little lengthier than it appeared, especially because they were saying about how they were yelling at each other.
So something I noticed is the cast is more alive then the Dangan games. Like we have people who are actually down to earth and care about everyone else like Desmond and Jean and etc. so if they become a blackened it would have to be something HUGE to make them betray the group like that as they all seem like down to earth and have morals and none of them genuinely wants to kill anyone. So instead of in games we can tell who may be a victim or who is a killer this will be a surprise each time truly as we don’t know what that big thing is that will make any of them break, or idk if I’m explaining it right. I also love how Damon isn’t just carrying the trials like the protags do. Everyone else seems to be on equal ground with Damon or at least everyone pitches in and brings up good points and evidence and advances the trial further rather then waiting on a Makoto or Hajime or Shuichi to do everything for them and come up with the Ah Ha! moments. Like even Kai and Cassidy and even JETT were keeping up with the class trials and using logic and deduction and seeing where everyone was coming from and put in their own info themselves and etc etc like really heavy. It’s also further showcased and I like how they made EVERYONE do the crime scene retelling and did it in their own way and interacting with each other during it like they are actually there and understanding and taking part in the killing game as a team effort. No more the protagonist is this genius or something. Does anyone else kinda see what I mean like? Idk if I explained it right lol.
No, you explained it pretty well, Eden's Garden does a damn good job at not making anyone feel usuless in the trail! And even with everyone being on the same general footing, Damon still shines in a way you expect from a protagonist, while also giving everyone a chance to actually do something and contribute to the trial.
exactly. Even outside of the trials every character feels alive. And they don’t just let their personality or talent just do it all. They are actually knowledgeable and helpful and pretty down to earth and based even in Daily Life or without the trials. Everyone was even helpful during the investigation. It’s like Kai for example. Going into Chapter 1 u coulda never expected or could tell he was gonna be so good in the trial like he was or follow along or do things and engage and keep up and come up with conclusions. Or Cassidy or Jett. It’s like a switch flipped on whenever deadly life started and everyone was like “ok we ACTUALLY gotta lock in”. It’s like everyone is as smart as the protagonist and all are on equal footing. Even everything down to their emotions and etc are like a MCs.
I wouldn't say Naegi and Hinata were carrying the class trials (though I will agree in Saihara's case, even if Ouma also held the brain cells at times), since they had Kirigiri and Komaeda respectively to string them along to solve the cases. However, your point still stands that Eden's Garden does a great job at having EVERYONE contribute in the class trials, not just the Protag-Antag-Support trio.
damn besides damon, jean lowkey carried the trial gotta give him my props he def a top tier character for me after this chapter (pls i hope he doesnt die)
(Spoiler warning) I can’t believe nobody’s talking about Damon Damon is one of the smartest expectation-subverting characters I’ve ever seen. Despite being the protagonist, he acts much more like an antagonist. His actions are powered by what he has to gain. For example, Damon letting the others investigate the pharmacy so 1, he wouldn’t get ganged up on again, and 2, to uncover the secret Tozu talked about for himself as well as not giving away the fact that he had Wolfgang’s blackmail just to make sure he didn’t get accused. Despite that, he isn’t one-dimensional. He does at the very least respect the other ultimates, and maybe even care about them. He’s said time and time again that he respected Wolfgang, and it was his empathy peeking out that prevented him from doubling down on Diana being the culprit. He even ended up genuinely trusting Eva before coming across the revelation that she was the culprit of Wolfgang’s murder. Despite the trial, he’s still the same character. He’s still arrogant and cynical. Wolfgang and Diana’s naivety still piss him off beyond end. He’s just so smartly written and a very realistic character. Danganronpa will always hold a very special place in my heart, but I think I already like P:EG more.
When you think about it it’s really heartbreaking. Sure he was being a bit self centered but he meant well when he said they shouldn’t trust each other so easily, yet it’s obvious he was willing to understand Eva, heck maybe even trust her a bit because she was smart with her “not trusting anyone” mindset, and yet she is the first person as the blackened I honestly couldn’t ask for a better person to be blackened though, there were days going on in the chapter and nobody died, they had the stuff to live and support, and almost everyone wanted to band together, and even if the traitor thing came into play, only two people didn’t want to trust and work together, our protagonist who despite his selfishness isn’t really a bad person, and the outcast who already was antagonized and constantly jabbed at by the groups “leader”, and also seemed selfish as it was, it was not only realistic but a damn good plot twist I also found it really interesting that apparently Eva and Wolfgang weren’t actually going to be the antag and support to our protagonist, if the game does end up doing that then I’m wondering if Kai will take the role of support, and since Diana is becoming the new Wolfgang she will be the antagonist or something Wolfgang was not only the leader but also someone who was smart and kind towards the others so with him gone, who’s to say that these “morals” of the people will remain
I personaly like Damon much more than any of the danganronpa mainline protags. He feels like a much more nuanced and grounded chatacter. Through his inner dialougue you can really come to understand him as a person, and his flaws made him much more relatable.
Ngl this whole murder and trial is really just proving his suspicions of trusting people so much and betrayal is just really making me say 'ok DANG I know what u mean now bruv😭'.
4:28:48 no this actually makes so much sense, no other character would also know that information. omg I know people commented earlier that wolfgang was killed because his talent was too OP and he was too smart to be kept alive, but I didn't expect it to be the same case for the killer as well... bro this is like drv3 but instead of kaede dying it's like kokichi and shuichi or something, bro thats crazyyy
It’s honestly so refreshing to see. How in the entirety of v3 NOONE thought to kill the detective???? And Shuichi was also frail and depressed he was such an easy target
@@ptr4410 V3 Spoilers: It's because none of the killers had motive to in-game 1: Kaede obviously wasn't going to 2: Kirumi wanted someone who gave up on life and an easier target, and Ryoma was better than Shuichi for that goal 3: Kiyo is a woman-serial killer, Shuichi's out of the question. 4: Miu clearly wanted Kokichi out in general. Yes, she should've thought of getting Shuichi as well, but she was probably banking on the fact that she had an alibi. 5: Kaito and Kokichi, and technically Maki, were obviously dealing with their own things, they didn't need to kill Shuichi No matter how you see it, Shuichi just wasn't in the minds of any of the killers
@@scream7709 Yea I understand the motives I’m just saying in a realistic scenario the detective would be much more interesting and grounded to be the first ones to go. And Shuichi is even my favorite protagonist in dangranronpa but seeing a realistic portrayal writing wise in the danganronpa formula is sooo refreshing with Eden’s Garden
@@ptr4410 oh I understand, yeah I've always been an advocate about straying away from the dangan pattern. True creativity is expanding past the original material
SPOILER WARNING I honestly really love the fanbase and the characters' parallels on Wolfgang and Eva. Wolfgang was someone the whole cast liked and followed as their leader, while Eva was the outcast that no one trusted. While in the fanbase Wolfgang seemed suspicious and evil and Eva seemed sweet and misjudged. However the true nature of these two characters was completely different. Wolfgang died, pitied and respected by the other students, his behaviour turned out to be genuine (at least it's hinted that he was really trying to be good) while Eva died as someone tragic, hated by everyone else and as someone who hated everyone, not what you'd expect from your typical antag and support, red herring or not
@@questionmarkquestionmarkques by everyone else I only meant the students not the fanbase. Although many people are hating on Eva for what she did to Diana
The thing is, Eva only became the culprit BECAUSE Wolfgang isolated her and made her and Damon easy targets. It caused them to both to with hold information (Damon was the one who told Eva not to tell the others about the poster in the Pharmacy because no else trusted them) and meet with Tozu privately (conspiring to get information behind Wolfgang's back), and eventually led to the killing game starting. He was a genuine and good man, but as Damon, Eva, and Tozu said, he was _dangerously_ naive and misguided. He was not fit to a be a leader in this scenario, and that's why he ultimately died. If he had just kept his mouth shut before they investigated the Pharmacy, Eva almost certainly wouldn't have been so paranoid. Not that he's entirely at fault, but his need to enforce moral superiority over those he disagreed with was still toxic. And.. I really don't think Eva would've killed anyone if not for Tozu forcing her hand. She wanted the traitor perk because she thought having it would help increase her chances of survival in a group that kept targeting her. She clearly didn't think it would force her to kill someone _immediately_ after she found it. Her opening up to Damon in private and apologizing for putting him in this mess after he came to her aide in Ch0, was clearly just her way of getting closure and coping with her guilt. He was the first of her peers to ever trust her as a person, and now, she had to abuse that trust in order to live. _Of course_ she was going to be angry and bitter during the trial. What else can she draw from this scenario other than: "None of this would've happened if the others hadn't isolated and targeted me (like everyone else has in her life), and now I have no choice but to betray the few who might actually care about me."
I am slowly starting to believe that the "dummy victim" in the prologue was actually Wolfgang's sister (same hair as his mother) and that he might have projected her on Diana when he was hallucinating, something like that. I also remember that weird interaction between Diana and Damon from the day before (check the previous daily life video at 4:20:06), that one hasn't been adressed in the trial at all so I assume it's being kept for later, which once again mean there might be more to Diana than what was shown here... spoiler for this video : Also the big irony in the dummy being used for assisting in the execution of Wolfgang's killer, revenge even in death
Also your theory could explain Wolfgang’s actions during the prologue, as he was the only person emotional about it despite everyone else not really caring since it was a dummy (I could be wrong it has been a while since the prologue)
@@burhaan9017 Go in the daily life video at 4:20:06, Diana approach Damon right before entering his dorm and seems to be trying to get infos out of him, while the exchange seems normal it's clear that the way she came to Damon is weird and Damon suspect himself she might have tried to get something out of Damon that would have served her interest (?). It's possible that, naratively, this first trial trial framed Diana as some kind of pure innocent but who knows, she is the chameleon of the group after all. Also she is a pink hair girl in a killing game hosted by guy with the same voice as monocrow lol (for those who knows the ref)...
I had the exact same thought about Wolfgang & Cara although I think it might be likelier that they're a bit more distant than siblings (since they have different last names). maybe cousins or smth?
Interesting that the name of the execution refers to a passage in the Bible, specifically the Book of Isaiah 48:10 "Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction." This ties to the game's biblical theming, which means that the other executions might also be named after passages from the Bible.
I also love how Eva sounds similar to Eve, the first to fall into Satan's temptations (like how Eva was the first to fall into the killing game's temptations)
@@weird_mango42 And more specifically, the traitor quirk was technically the "apple". Also I think it was rigged so that Eva would be the first blackened.
Just as Danganronpa did, it really hits with the overwhelming feeling when a character you liked very much ends up dying, especiallly from another character you liked, amazing work from the team
Yes, but unlike Danganronpa, where it's very difficult to get into the fandom without knowing who dies and who doesn't, this game leaves you stunned since it's relatively new, making it easier to avoid spoilers.
Exactly @@AkiraChileno SPOILER WARNINGn For all the previous daganronpa games I got spoiled on all the victims and blackened characters before playing so i made sure not to get attached to any of them. However for Eden, obviously, I got no spoilers going in so I wasn't as cautious and ended up getting attached. I loved Akire so much, he's literally the main reason I got into this fangan since his character archetype appealed to me so much and he genuinely seemed like a character who would last for long (and many others felt the same) so seeing him die first made me feel a genuine pain I've not felt in a long time from any form of media. Forgot how much it hurts to see a character you like die, especially early.
THEORY (AND SPOILERS) . . . . . . . . . . After watching Wolfgang's currently available FTEs, I have a hunch regarding the mock trial and his hallucination. We're told that Wolfgang idolized his mother and wanted to become a lawyer like her after watching recordings of her trials. I believe she died when Wolfgang was very young, so those tapes were all he had of her growing up. Other people have pointed out her resemblance to Cara, but I'm wondering if Wolfgang's mom was murdered via stabbing, just like Cara was. That would explain why Wolfgang acted the way he did during the mock trial: he was projecting his mother's death onto Cara's. And when Wolfgang woke up in the boiler room, drugged out of his mind, he hallucinated his mother in Diana's place. That's what he meant when he was going on about "finally meeting you" and "I'm sorry I couldn't be you," since he was afraid he could never measure up to the ideal lawyer he had built her up to be in his mind. But when Diana got closer to him, the hallucination faded. That's why Wolfgang swung at her with the knife and screamed for her to "bring her back." He just wanted his mom back. 😢
i actually thought that the hallucination was about his father, because of the blackmail i am pretty sure that he resents his father for killing his mother (my theory) it makes more sense because later he says something about him being different
(POSSIBLE SPOILERS) If im gonna be honest, I don't really want a nagito/kokichi antagonist. While yes, they're interesting characters, I want an antagonist like Byakuya, someone who's not full on "evil/crazy", rather someone whose morally grey, or is the complete opposite of the protagonist. If theres one thing Danganronpa does in its games, its create a message with antonyms, like "Despair/Hope" "Truth/Lies" etc etc. Im not 100% sure where PED is going in this direction. I think the message for this game is Hope/delusion?? Not really sure, but I have a prediction about how this games gonna go. In every Danganronpa game, theres always atleast one character who will be different from the rest of the cast, someone who doesnt agree with everyone else's beliefs, Ex, Byakuya, Nagito, Kokichi. In this game, we're the antagonist, (to everyone else atleast.) Damon, like everyone else, wants to escape, but doesn't like to believe in all that false hope stuff. In the prologue, he talks about how useless everyone's talent is, causing a majority of the cast to dislike him. One of those people who still had hope for him being Diana. I feel like Diana's gonna be the antagonist for this game and Im all for it. After the class trial ended, she made this speech on how she's gonna "continue Wolfgang's legacy" and try to find justice. During the prologue, Im pretty sure Wolfgang was the antagonist? (Im not 100% sure, to me it was kind of confusing on who was who.) Now that he's dead, we have someone picking up his legacy. Unlike the other antagonists, Diana isn't morally evil or even grey, so far, she seems like someone who wants to step up and save everyone. I feel like Diana doesn't fully think Damon is a terrible person, we've seen her try to be friendly with Damon and I doubt she's gonna stop acting friendly towards him. In my opinion, this game is a breath of fresh air from the stereotypical Danganronpa game, it feels more realistic than the others (Hope that makes sense.) I wish for the best with this game and am 100% for chapter two!
I love stories that don't shy away from the morally grey and P:EG really is a breath of fresh air! I think presuming that there's only going to be a single antagonist is a mistake, though. P:EG has mentioned how it's not going to follow a set DR formula so I wouldn't be surprised if there's shifts in roles as the game progresses. I agree that Diana is set to be the next antagonist via misguided positivity, but she may grow beyond that or even die next chapter as the story explores more themes and characters. I'm really excited to see however things unfold!
@@dandeliondaffodyls1426 your so right, I was thinking about this a few hours ago. I love the idea of having more than one antagonist. It just makes a lot of sense since majority of the cast doesn't really see Damon as a good person. I really hope Diana lives through trial two though 😭 I wanna see how she's gonna step up and try to lead everyone (shes also my second favorite character after Wolfgang, I cant lose my top two in a back to back chapter)
@@PrincessAlliOfFreaks I think Diana is gonna be the type of antagonist that challenges Damon’s beliefs throughout the story, while a character like Wenona is going to be closer to that byakuya role.
Directly after the trial ends, Damon Maitsu's name doesn't disappear until they start talking about how the generator exploding doesn't violate any rules. May want to fix that later guys. Edit: it's from 5:17:40 to 5:19:37 if y'all want to know where specifically.
Remember how every DR game has a theme? Like Hope vs Despair, Future vs Past, and Truth vs Lie but I wonder if this game also has a theme? SPOILER WARNING FOR EVERYTHING!!! I believe the theme is "judgement". I don't know the opposite but I'm fairly certain the theme is judgement. I realized this when Eva says she was "judged" in the past. What if everyone that is in this killing game has one way or another been wrongfully judged in their life due to their talent? Eva was judged for her smarty smart talent. Kai was judged because of his influencer talent. Desmond is probably judged for being an Ultimate Marksman despite not being comfortable aiming moving/living targets. (Like Damon did) Mark doesn't even want people to COMMENT on his musical ability, compliment or insult. Ulysses for his constant note-taking. Mistaking Jean for a pirate. Eloise being meek despite her fencing talent. Etcetera. This all relates back to the title. "Project: Eden's Garden". Most likely referring to the "Garden of Eden" originating from the Book of Genesis. A Book all about God's judgment. The story so far is a direct parallel to the Book of Genesis 1-3. The school is the "Garden of Eden" where humanity is stored. It has everything as Wenona said, shelter, comfort, etc. Tozu would represent the Snake in this situation for Eva/Eve to take the Apple of Knowledge or in this case "start the killing game/introduce sin into the world". This led to her sharing the Apple with a man, Wolfgang Akire. Wolfgang's last name starts with an A, Akire. Meaning power, intelligence, leadership. Adam is the first caretaker of humanity, such as how Wolfgang Akire is the caretaker of the group. In the end, they are both "expelled" from Eden's Garden. I like the word "expelled" because it relates to how the setting of the game is supposed to be a school but expulsion in a Danganronpa type school really kind of means death. So, like how Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden, Akire and Eva were expelled from Eden's Garden. And this all happened because Eva succumbed to her shame and judgement. And she was judged by her fellow classmates leading to her expulsion/death. Adam and Eve's disobedience introduces sin, suffering, and death into the world. This signals the start of the killing game where everyone is either on the chopping board or the one holding the knife. I wonder if other chapters of the Book will foreshadow future chapters in the game.
@@Handler4Dayz if the story and death order is going off on how the bible goes then the next chapter's killer's motive could be jealousy of their victim. The murder of Abel wasn't premeditated so its possible the next murder won't be either. But given how the creators created such a complex murder method its possible the killer might have had some luck. But that's just a theory. A GAME THEORY
SPOILERS (like really heavy spoilers DONT CLICK IF YOU ARENT DONE) . . . . . . . . When Eva died, I kept thinking about the genius who thought of her execution, and don't forget about those who animated it. The animation was so devastating because she shed tears, and even without audio you could tell she was screaming in pain. But despite all that, her will to live outshone those and told her to just live. Her execution using a fire and a conveyor belt made me think about how no matter how much you walk in the opposite direction of a conveyor belt, it will take more effort than if you just walked the other way. Eva could've gave up on all her other interests, and became just a mathlete like people expected, but she didn't. She tried her best to show people that she was so much more than just a mathlete with her papers, but no one would listen. They'd tell her she was great at math(throwing MATH TOOLS AT HER DURING THE EXECUTION) and it pushed her down into the fire. But she still wanted to show the world who she was. And when she reached out to her peers, (Cara Koskinen in the execution) she was only let down further. TLDR: The execution was so well done everytime I see it I actually break down in tears Eva was so cool
I did a whole analysis of it SPOILERS- She climbed her ladder, as she was pressured into becoming a mathelete. The fire was symbolic of nothing being left if she didn't succeed. She quite literally climbed to the top as well as putting literal blood, from the math tools, sweat from the heat of the fire and the energy needed to survive, and tears from the pain into her efforts. I don't know if the dummy at the end is supposed to be someone we don't know, or close to Diana on appearance but either was this is what I got. It was symbolic of her whole life start to end.
@@LocalDragonman I was thinking the same thing about the fire 😭 I just had no idea how to word it. "If she gave up, she'd be forgotten. If she died in the fire, nothing would remain." Something like that, but I didn't know if I should've included it.
Also there is a parallel to be made with the pit of fire being hell, since Eva is very much based off of eve. To be honest, we should have expected it- her being the original sin and all. Anyway, I also loved the irony and cruelty of the part with Kara. During life she never let anyone help her and rejected them because she assumed they hated her. And in her last moment when she takes the helping hand she gets punished for it and all her progress is erased.
❤ I storyboarded , drew and animated it by myself! There were also 3D models made by panic and a few renders by nif and seraph. This is so sweet 🥹🫶 thank you so much, it took months to learn and make it
People calling this is wasted of "you know" potential may forgot that...This is chapter 1. It's too soon to judge characters potential. In fact, all characters hold equal potential.
The factor is that there was a 2 year wait between prologue and Chapter 1. Beautiful case but there's no problem in saying they felt wasted, I do love both victim and killer 😭 but I can't wait for what Chapter 2 will bring to the table
SPOILERS BELOW Eva is a perfect example of what Sayaka would have become had her plan worked. I really love the writing in this chapter and how it used elements from all three mainline DR games to make a first case. Damon being betrayed by someone he trusted, like what Sayaka tried to do to Makoto, a blackout during a get-together like DR2, and losing two of our most influential characters due to getting rid of our antagonist and support, which is kind of similar to V3's Kaede as they set her up as the all important protagonist only to subvert that by killing her, and now they've done the same with Wolfgang AND Eva, by setting them up as our support and rival and getting rid of them. The Eden's Garden Team did such a good job, and I'd argue that I enjoyed this a lot more than the three mainline games we have. I really enjoyed going into the chapter blind without being spoiled, and I'm only expecting it to get better from here.
I think the "they use elements from all three mainline games" thing also actually ties in nicely to the whole "history repeats itself" theme the game is going for (on a meta level obviously I'm aware it's a separate universe)
That detail was why I had the sudden epiphany of who the killer was (along with the fact that only Eva could know the boiler room layout so well) It broke my heart so much when I realized she was the killer, I kept making up reasons for her until the evidence got too damning to let her slide 😭🙏
Am i the only one who saw a portrait of a crow mask in blood? And Eva is characterized by birds with the feathers, the blood represents shes the killer, they hinted at her the entire time
Which makes it a great chapter. They did what the danganronpa creators were afraid to do (albeit they killed off a potential main character in kaede, per V3)
Hey for people who don't want to be spoiled during the stream you guys should not have the live chat on. There are guaranteed to be people in the chat who are going to spoil who the Blackened is.
Exactly, it's so well done, the only thing that could be improved is probably the non stop debates with a much more smoother animation after shooting the truth bullet. If they updated that in the future, this is literally like a real official Danganronpa game!
@@batalayar glad there's people who agreed with me, I don't wanna criticize much because for a fan game this is already above impressive. Like you said the vfx could still use a bit of improvement, and probably slightly better design on some of the class trial graphics.
The Killer having *multiple* back up arguments prepared, even for a purposefully convoluted method of murder, is such a nice touch. Danganronpa has a bad habit of making many of the characters one-dimensional extensions of their talent, and nothing else, while a few are complete geniuses. Everyone in this trial, from the mastermind to the protags to even the comparatively least helpful all had something to add, something to say, and real-life experiences to contribute to the trial. they all feel like *actual* people, which makes the mastermind such a great villain. They were justifiably backed into a corner, their motive was out of survival (not random “serial-killer” malice), they’d already been socially shunned from the group, and the murder (while convoluted) has PLENTY to do with their talent! It’s all very well written, and makes this trial seem SO much better to playthrough than actual Danganronpa trials. Major props to the team, they should feel SO proud of their work
this whole scene from 3:20:00 was soooooooo fucking good man, the art, the voice acting, the sound design, the writing, it all just comes together so perfectly. this was my favorite part of the whole chapter and probably one of my favorite scenes from a fangan ever. very excited for the future of this project, even if you guys did kill off my favorite first 😔
absolutely!!!! i dont see enough people talking about this scene! i admittedly didn't like wolfgang all that much but it was really nice that we got one final moment to showcase his character--and what a showcase it was! i really gotta highlight his va because mannn their performance was spine-chilling. just all the desperation and /hunger/ oough. and diana's va did phenomenally in portraying her fear in the moment. which is to say the va work really complemented each other haha. the new sprites for the two of them were also sooo good, getting to see these characters breakdown and jjustttt hdgejehdhdh. really everyone involved did wonders in enhancing the emotions of the scene! it has to be my favourite part of this chapter, period, haha. so many props to the edens garden crew for giving us this absolute masterpiece ^^
SPOILERS:::: One thing that I'm TOTALLY beating myself up over is figuring out the culprit. Of course, I figured it out once we cleared Diana's name pretty quickly, but I feel like I should've known since, well, before the prolog even came out. Damon and Eva, in both their names and their promotional art, seem to have often been related to Adam and Eve --- so of COURSE Eva would be the first blackened!?!?!?! Eve was the first person to sin!!! Like I've pulled out SO many random biblical references and that one was never on my radar????? Side note, looking through the lens of the Christian idea of 'original sin' in which everyone is inherently sinful ever since sin entered the world (because of Eve's action in the garden) is a really interesting thing to explore in context of the story now
also the fact that the schools symbol is an apple, and Damon's animal symbol is a snake. It reminds me of how Eva blamed Damon for making her the way she was, like how the snake influenced Eve to bite the apple, "biting the apple" in this context being Eva agreeing to work alongside Tozu. I really hope the game continues to make these references throughout the remaining chapters, its so fun piecing this stuff together
@@phenomotron Yes!!! Good catch, I really like this symbolism!!! Although I'm not super convinced they'll do the V3 protag switch again, I /guess/ Damon would be the next to bite the apple :O I can't wait for chapter 2
@@datnastysalad5616on one hand, it makes sense for Damon to die in the next chapter due to Adam being the second to bite the apple On the other hand I feel like it makes it way too obvious for chapter two for him to die For chapter one I feel like it makes sense that the first culprit is related to the first sin But now that we know Eva is Eve, the one who gave into temptation, Damon who is Adam dying next feels too easy to catch Then again the fact it’s too obvious also means not as many suspect the most obvious option
SPOILERS When I watched Eva's execution... There was only one thought I could hear in my mind. "Is this even real?" Not a SINGLE Fangan has EVER made me think that way, not even ONCE! And this is only Chapter ONE! God damn, when the devs said we weren't ready for what they were cooking, they were serious! Can't wait to see the rest. You guys take all the time you need in the kitchen to cook up the next five courses of this gourmet meal!
SPOILER AND THOUGHTS ON EVA'S CHARACTER. I think people are missing the point a bit. Eva isn' just a traumatized good person, she is a bad person as a result of her trauma and emotional baggage. (She has tridimensional feelings, I know, but that is exatcly why I am saying this). It is her feelings of isolation and paranoia which made her a resentful, sadist person, full of misantrophy (You heard her and saw how she manipulated Daimon and all she did to Wolfgang and Diana. You can't deny that she is malicious at best). She had been treated unfairly all her life, and as result, she became someone obsessed with what she deserved, who had at the same time both a superiority and inferiority complex.
She also had a victim complex. When people bring up how she killed the man who could've kept them together she says she would've died first and someone else would've, there's no real evidence right now that would be the case. When Diana says that she wanted to be her friend she only acknowledges how Diana wasn't 100% against Wolfgang and apparently that meant she deserved to be roped into her murder plot (which she could've very well have been killed in the process) and be framed. When Desmond says she was only trapped into having to murder because she went back on everyone first she automatically puts herself in a victim role of being killed, not even framed *being killed* Her life outside was miserable and the people who bullied her for being a math elite have much to be ashamed of but she became worse than them when she killed someone and attempted by proxy everyone else.
Tldr on ramble: don't let any self contempt or outside negativity spiral into this because you'll suffer the most in the end. I wonder if the people who bullied her even know half of the damage they've caused...
She's not remotely a sadist, and never displays sadistic tendencies once in the chapter. Being bitter and resentful of the people who walked all over her and shunned her over the course of her life didn't mean she wanted to kill someone. She was pushed to it by extreme circumstances, and even then, she regretted it. Her lashing out and blaming everyone else was clearly her way of coping with it.
@@DLxxx Killing Wolfgang the way she did and infront of Diana is extremely cruel. Specially after choosing her, someone who tried to comfort her and help, just because she respected Wolfgang. Her desire of revenge against Wolfgang (who although being a bit extreme, was genuinely trying to do the best for the group) and Diana translated in a desire to hurt *them* specifically.
I needed Diana’s speech after today. :( I lost my cat due to bone cancer. This was a loss for me and then watching Diana’s speech… just hit me in a good way… ❤ RIP Lila :( And to Eva & Wolfgang. :( 🫂🫂
After watching this, I feel sorry for Damon. I know that he can sometimes be…mean-minded, but he has sympathetic traits that I’ve noticed about his personality. I also sorry that now he doesn’t have anybody to connect with anymore (if the students continue giving him the cold reception).
He was right though. Granted, he said it in a mean way, but look what happened. Someone killed someone else. We’ll have to wait and see how chapter 2 and the rest of the game goes, but I fear that this will only reinforce Damon’s closed off nature, especially with Diana’s speech at the end of the trial.
SPOILERS ABOUT CHAR It's so sad how no one ever thought of Eva being anything more than a mathlete. With applications of math in every field and use in the world, the fact no one ever took her seriously despite how hard she worked and proved to use her math knowledge in other fields only to be looked down is depressing. Even when she expressed her feelings for why she killed, all her peers still invalidated her. Her entire life no one ever took her seriously or capable even Tozu at the end made a joke. She became so untrusting of people, never believing they cared for her well being. Damon may have been the only person she trusted, and felt betrayed by him during the trial when he revealed her plan. Maybe people don't think she has the the most tragic story and don't feel sorry for her, just like her peers, but that feeling of having been invalidated your whole life, told that your life would be good if you listened to what people said you should become. Makes you feel powerless, hence why she took up the liar title earlier. She was spouting so much stuff like "I'm always the one people hate" "None of you actually care about me" "I'll never...get what I deserve", that it implies her whole life she was dealing with so much psychological problems that were simply brushed off because she does math. Not really a talent most would sympathies any hardships with. Which really sucks, and why Tozu specifically targeted her to put as the traitor with how terrible she was mentally. If Wenona never looked at the tablets and revealed her talent, maybe she would not have been mentally taken advantaged of.
Fr! It was interesting to see someone like her who carried herself like Kirigiri wanting friends and feeling belittled and forgotten. Someone who was actually bothered when people ganged up on her, but it wouldn't be believable cus she would seem pretty indifferent. What she did to Diana purely out of spite because of her poor mental state is just a glimpse of just what she might have been through her whole life to become someone like that. I feel bad that nobody except Diana (even after what Eva did to her) took her feelings and reasons seriously. I feel bad because Eva wasn't able to see that Damon and Diana genuinely cared for her and were genuinely hurt by her betrayal, and everyone will only hate her because it's easy to gloss over how bullying, hatred and loneliness can affect a person's trust in the kindness of other people, which is why Eva shouldn't be at fault. I used to be pretty indifferent to her myself cus I just thought she was a Kirigiri but I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY with how she turned out to be someone completely different and she quickly became my favourite character in the whole game. I also love the fanbase and the characters' parallels on Wolfgang and Eva. Wolfgang was someone the whole cast liked and followed as their leader, while Eva was the outcast that no one trusted. While in the fanbase Wolfgang seemed suspicious and evil and Eva seemed tragic and misjudged. However the true nature of these two characters was completely different. Wolfgang died, pitied and respected by the other students, his behaviour turned out to be genuine (at least it's hinted that he was really trying to be good) while Eva died as someone hated by everyone else and as someone who hated everyone, not what you'd expect from your typical antag and support, red herring or not
I too thought she would be a character like Kyoko, and so I never cared about her. But with the way things played out, I felt genuinely horrible for her. Props to the writers for making her more nuanced and complex then I expected.
Same, I honestly couldn't NOT feel sorry for her.. Imagine, trying everything you can do to be seen more than a mathlete for your whole life only to find yourself desperately running up a conveyor belt while sharp math tools Pierce and rip through your skin and flesh... She definitely didn't deserve to go out that way
I really liked how complex her character is, and it was pretty frustrated how she was invalidated at the end, good writing! There's so much going on with Eva that she became one of my favourite characters. I really appreciated how in depth her plan was and not to mention the artists and voice actors who did an amazing job on the sprites and voice when she was losing her mind. I love how she was grasping at every straw until there was nothing left, there was also that cool reference to Eve being tempted by the snake. Everyone did such an awesome job in this chapter!
@@Mysticist6641Your analysis on Eva is how I exactly I empathize with her so much they really outdid themselves with her and Im gonna miss her also, I LOVE how GOOD her plan was like actually she gotten so far not being suspected and even still I was so shocked, Like this plan was genuinely one of if not the best kill plan ive seen in dangan/fangan in general like I actually believe she couldve gotten away with this if one little thing couldve changed
So... Seem like Wolfgang and Eva were the fakeout rival/support. And it seem like Diana is going to be the one that challenge Damon's ideology and Kai is going to be Damon's actual support. This will be interesting.
if kai is going to be the protagonist’s support/side kick, i’m not ready for chapter 5 😭 kyoko kirigiri (only if you get the bad ending) chiaki nanami, & kaito momota 💔 coincidentally, they all have a K & I in their names. including kai. (i’m probably just reaching)
Why do i feel like damon is gonna pull a teruko from despair time lol. I mean it would make sense if he gives off an antag vibe in the next chapters after this, this would be a good opportunity for a villain arc /hj. But i feel like it would be interesting, considering were playing as him
project eden's garden compensates what danganronpa lacked: in p:eg, there's no fan service, not only the protags have the "um actually" moments (everyone, even kai, jett, and cassidy bring up important things during the trial). im just wondering whether the world outside is also destroyed and if theres a mastermind like in the original danganronpa games. i hope to find out!!
The mysterious loner character who helps you out during the investigations actually being the first killer is such a great twist worthy of Danganronpa that I'm surprised that it didn't show up in the actual games sooner
I got spoiled for who the killer was on tiktok but I still played the chapter and I was SHOCKED. I did not expect that person to be the victim at all and I’m just mindblown. I love this fan game so so much!
Sorry I wrote this after finishing the class trial right before this gameplay bcs how amazing they choose wolfgang and all thing happen in class trial that show how complicated this murder ***SPOILER*** everything that happened in the prologue class trial really affects chapter 1 and maybe other chapters in the future, also I really love how eva act like a killer in first chappet, give all she have, using her talent to making a crazy mechanism for her killing Wolfgang and Damon could have been Eva's targets, if only Damon didn't support Eva's opinion (that maybe affects Eva emotion bcs its her first time have someone who agree with her), makes it possible for him to be Eva's target seeing how Wolfgang and Damon are the spearheads of the class trial and will make it difficult for Eva to win After Wolfgang died, everyone who was previously in the prologue class trial just said yes or didn't really want to participate or agree with all of Wolfgang's opinions, slowly in the chapter 1 trial they started to express what they wanted to say, regardless of whether it was related to Wolfgang's death or not (like Eloise, Kai, Toshiko). As for some poeple who still wanna understand how wolfgang could be killed and be part of the discussion Wolfgang showing his fangs, then became Eva's target, showed a completely a LOGICAL thing that not happen in canon danganronpa series in the first chapter that the first killer would never choose the right target to make they win to escape if only the prologue class trial had never happened, then there would have been the same cliche murder as danganronpa or fanganronpa before. "Killing someone who easily changes the flow of discussion and has sharp instincts" is a logical thing that all of them get from observing the prologue class trial (seeing how strong and important wolfgang is in class trial). Eliminating Wolfgang will reduce the percentage of the possibility that the killer will be caught.
That's been my biggest problem with the main games and the fan games. It's too easily predictable and like stated the smart characters always last til chapter 5 before getting offed in some way. I'm happy two of the three most intelligent members of the group gone in a single trial. While playing or watching these I always get annoyed how people set themselves up to be easily caught in trials. I would've done the EXACT same thing as this killer. You eliminate somebody who is a threat to you escaping, then let the idiots squabble amongst themselves while you divert the facts.
Spoilers of course - I 100% agree. It was definitely either Wolfgang or Damon who was going to die. Both being strong in their regards of being smart and having good critical thinking, just the only true difference between the two was that Damon had no one on his side and Wolfgang having everyone under his fingertips. Eva had more of a chance of winning if she killed Wolfgang, as it left the whole team discombobulated, and without his critical skills of being a lawyer, finding the killer would be much harder. And during the trial, less people would want to listen to what Damon had said, as pointed out, Damon didn’t like Wolfgang at all. I feel like the thing that truly spoiled Eva’s plan was how Damon went to the gaming tournament. If Kai didn’t sign Damon up, she probably most likely pinned the blame on Damon, won, and got out of it alive. Realistically, if it were up to me if I was in this situation after the death of Wolfgang, I would definitely either aim for Damon or Ulysses, especially if I knew about Ulysses not being able to smell. I wouldn’t go for Wenona since she, although is very smart, isn’t as intimidating compared to Ulysses’ book filled with information and Damon being a strong debater who technically solved 2 cases already.
@@ApoIIo_ I really like you pointed 'Damon didn't like wolfgang' as he really show it on his every monologue. But than in class trial he said something that kinda off, he hate but respect. I mean okey I'll buy that word but what happen after Diana declare will step on be wolfgang role? Ofc Damon inner will react exact same thing as he really really hate that but I'm sure he can hide it from his face Damon is one complicated character, in trial he hide his feeling when try to unmask eva killer face, but when saw her deatn Damon tears comes down
@@Briya4wn Yes It's really an impact, he watched culprit scream at him whatever it was and it showed the player what he saw 5:33:33 / The pov is amazing
It was the Book of Genesis basis all along! Wolfgang Akire and Eva Tsunaka Adam and Eve Eve/Eva was the one who picked the apple from Lucifer’s snake form/Damon, which she has passed it on to Adam/Wolfgang. Then again, the apple of all knowledge/traitor perk was made by God/Tozu anyway. Then the God/Tozu punished them for “breaking the rules” (Sort of in Eva’s case) - which is the punishment of making them mortals to die. I also liked how the boss battle has Tohou and Snake elements there. Those were classics.
@ Possibly, which it follows the formula of devotion to someone or the opposite aspect of it - hatred. Or it might be a different bible chapter, like Deuteronomy, Exodus, Matthew, or John. Gosh, now I will not be surprised if the final chapter will be based on Philippians…
@@yoshidoor5229 That’s a good point too. And not only that, Tozu’s throne is behind Damon’s podium in the trial courtroom. Lucifer turned into a snake so he’ll lure Eve and Adam to eat the apple. Eva was the Ultimate Liar, but was the Ultimate Mathlete revealed. Kinda like how Eve got all the knowledge because she ate the apple first.
I just KNEW the chat was gonna say the killers name and pretend they “figured it out” good thing I beat the chapter by now but be careful in the future guys
@@_xxsae.I mean this is why in some streamer chats ppl are also discouraged to share theories in the chats, to prevent having to sift through what could be a genuine theory and what is just someone spoiling.
It’s genuinely annoying because why are you spoiling during the premiere of the game?? I’m not even talking about theorizing, but someone literally saying “spoiler alert it’s *blank*” HUH???
Three things: 1. I am completely dumbfounded over the fact that there was so many twists and turns in the first chapter alone, and I'm trying to express this in the best way possible without any spoilers, but it felt like every trope that you'd expect to see after playing the original games and seeing other pieces of fan-work was just completely flipped, leaving me with absolutely no idea of how things will actually go in the future chapters. They get samey after a while like ordering the same kind of sandwich each time. It's yummy, but it's the same sandwich. You guys though definitely just came in and gave me an entirely new mystery sandwich and it was delicious. 2. The execution scene definitely didn't disappoint, I'd say you guys so far made the best fully animated versions of these, and I am eager to see more like it in the future. 3. Tozu being the kind of host that he is instead of being Monokuma again or a character that's adjacent to Monokuma definitely grew on me. The man's just blast whenever he shows up on screen. Though one tiny little thing you could maybe do about him if you all have the time is to have his very talented VA say "It's show time" instead of leaving it with just text alone, the best part of every class trial of the original games was when Monokuma busted in to say it's punishment time, all the while the blackened is just bawling their eyes out, so it would make an already delicious sandwich even better. See what I did there I brought back the sandwich analogy a second time. But yeah all things considered I loved every moment of this and I can't wait to see more the whole team. Also don't let Jett die man, you made him fucking laugh like Scooby Doo like that instantly made him my favorite character so please god just let him survive.
My favorite part was when the victim wrote "11037" with water & the class deduced that the killer was Mukuro Ikusaba, thus killing Tozu in a coughing fit of embarrassment over the class figuring it out so fast leading to his untimely demise at which point Mara took over & killed absolutely everybody firing squad style, truly the best fangame ever created!
Actually it wasn't Mukuro Ikusaba. It was Mukuro Ikusaba, The 16th Student, Lying Hidden Somewhere In This School, The One They Call The Ultimate Despair. Watch Out For Her.
im actually glad characters that im guessing would die are completely wrong cuz i get to be surprised by the mystery, its so satisfying! also i really like the writing of characters, esp the killer :)) eden's garden's writing is so good cuz u dont wanna rely on the stereotypes and tropes typical danganronpa and even some other fanganronpas used. ANYONE you can imagine could be the killer.
@wrenascence spoilers it was honestly all the 3 redheads 😭 kai, diana and cassidy. my basis for this is back in the mock trial, kai and cassidy have many lines in the previous trials so i figured its their time to go next. (totally ignoring eva and wolfgang cuz im biased with dr tropes) diana is cuz of the chameleon theory circulating. so i was at first devastated when damon picked diana early on cuz i thought its over lol
Everyone commenting the trial and/or the killer and I'm always thinking how cute Ingrid is. Her voice actress did an amazing job, perfect voice for her ❤
i was so sure Eva will be support and Wolfgang the rival, now i am lost who the rival will be (support could be Jean or Desmond aka the two who helped the most in the trial)
2:40:43 The implication that Damon spent this whole trial up to this point just casually holding a rolling pin that nobody thought was strange enough to point out XD
SPOILERS What sticks out to me in Eva's execution is the fact that you can see multiple sets of stairs behind her at certain points. I can't say for sure, but I suspect that if they hadn't identified Eva properly, all of the students would have been subjected to her execution...
1:32:12 "The tree of ignorance emulates the wonder of nature but does not achieve it". I'm really liking this ongoing theme of things that emulate, mimic, give the illusion of being the real thing, but aren't actually the real thing. We see it with the books in Damon's room, the floor in the pharmacy, the tree of illusion, etc. I mean, this is literally a danganronpa fan game. It's emulating danganronpa, but it isn't actually danganronpa. Because it's just the illusion of a new danganronpa game, I wonder if this ongoing theme will come into play later on. I mean, eden's garden is one of the best fan games I've seen particularly when it comes to emulating the style of the danganronpa games. Because it seems like it's trying to be accurate to the spirit of danganronpa games, it's entirely possible that people's preconceptions and expectations surrounding a danganronpa series title will lead to logic that fits inside that box. Maybe that can be exploited later on for a plot twist or something, while still keeping with the theme of this game... just thinking
Because the character actual felt emotion while they’re being killed. Most official Danganronpa execution have the characters be surprisingly chill with it (not all but a lot of them)
Just finished it. Honestly lost for words. Everything about this experience was amazing, phenomenal and an absolute masterclass from all those involved. The mystery, to the trial to the execution and everything in between was just brilliantly done. I am absolutely looking forwards to see where you all take this story in future. 10/10, 5 Stars. YEAHHHH!!!!
(SPOILERS FOR THE CULPRIT. Please don’t read until you finish the video!) So I was thinking, it makes perfect sense why Eva had to go. Biblical references aside, what kept Damon also isolated from the group (besides his outburst in the prologue) is a general distrust and skepticism for everyone. He felt like Eva supported that view, so stuck around her (and trusted her. Poor Damon this is going to cause trust issues. Daily Life is going to be fun to rewatch). If the devs and writers want Damon to branch out and form relationships with the rest of the group, Eva would have prevented him from moving forward from his current mindset in a way. Like, the poster discussion in the pharmacy. They kept secrets and fell back to kind of making a support feedback loop with each other (distrust of the group. which definitely from their point of view makes perfect sense). I mean, it’s still Chapter 1 so Damon’s character development can go so many different ways- Who knows? Damon might get pushed to interact with the group more or withdraw/be more antagonistic after the person he trusted most is gone. But yeah I think Eva, if she were to be like the Kirigiri for Makoto, would have…kept him the same if that makes any sense? It’s kind of why the first game also kind of fell flat for me, but glad it got switched up here! Rest in peace Eva, and 100% sure this is still going to be part of Damon’s internal conflict next chapter. The dynamics are so interesting and I’m super excited to see how the group dynamics are shaken up (Diaannnaaa! Kaaaiiii! I have a feeling the two will be important for Damon).
Spoilers for the culprit - Proceed with caution. Eva's Argument Altercation quotes are likely not leaving my head anytime soon. Eva's voice actor was utterly incredible in that last stretch of the chapter. "IT'S DAMON WHO'S SUSPICIOUS"
SPOILERS Those who call this Chapter wasting potential, I would agree but disagree at the same time Eva and Wolfgang were both portrayed as important characters, and I think having them both dead not only contributes to big ass element of surprise setting a good head start, but also makes A LOT of room for all the other characters to shine If Eva and Wolfgang stayed alive, the rest of the cast would've might taken a more backseat role But now that they are gone, it leaves them to take the spotlight (Kai being the new support, and Wenona being an antag or smth) Anyways this Chapter was dope in setting the beginning of the fangan, and you can't change my mind
Adding onto this, SPOILERS: . . . . . . despite them both dying this chapter, I honestly believe that despite this, they will still get fleshed out in later chapters. There’s a lot of story elements that P:EG has taken from other mainstream Death Games, and one of them being the logic vs emotion motif that’s being utilized in YTTD currently. I wouldn’t be surprised if Wolfgang/Eva pulls a Kai/Joe and both end up being a driving force to the main plot even post mortem. I mean, Wolfgang’s mutterings to Diana are absolutely going to be relevant later, no doubt about it. As for Eva, we’ll have to wait and see.
I actually love that this feels like everyone is saying something important and helping solve the mystery. Especially in the recap part where everyone takes turns explaining what happened. It really gives me the vibe that you arent the only one working on this case. The others are making great points too. But you need to point out missing info like the shrapnel and extension cord.
1ST CHAPTER EXECUTION SPOILERS AND ANALYSIS! Eva Tsunaka's Execution Analysis by ReynTheWorld We know she introduced herself as the ultimate liar and it's even crossed out in the text of her execution name with her real talent being below it in bloody text, because it was revealed in the chemistry room that she actually lied about her actual talent It's also a nice detail that as the ultimate mathlete the things she's being hit by in her way of escaping are tools used in math, it symbolises how she can't escape from that talent and how it'll keep coming back to her and making it worse no matter how hard she runs away from it and tries to avoid it The fire in the execution can represent two things, the simple one being the phrase "liar liar pants on fire" because she "was the ultimate liar" or well lied about that and the other one being how Eve ate the apple after being tempted to sin and was banished to hell, like how Eva took Tozu's offer and started the killing game and ending up in a deep pit of flames
the fire and execution name is probably a reference to book of isaiah in 48:10 "See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction."
--And the fact that the "math supplies" Were getting thrown into the fire, possibly symbolizing mathematics not being needed that much or people not caring about mathematics anymore. (This might be a stretch, but could it also symbolize people's indifference towards Eva? Like her racing against the fire symbolizes her will to not let people simply dismiss or forget about her.)
Awesome chapter. Can’t wait until chapter 2 comes out in 4 years. Also SPOILER: Grace’s interjection before her rebuttal showdown caught me off guard. Just hearing “SHUT THE FUCK UP” out of nowhere coupled with angry Grace flipping us off had me rolling.
im pretty sure they said things will go quicker after chapter 1, probably due to them finishing lots of the code for trials and free times etc. well still probs have to wait quite a while tho, but it just means high quality!
Kind of spoilers...? I keep thinking that what Wolfgang hallucinated was his father, like the blackmail was written "like father, like son beneath a sheeps skin hide's a wolfish mind" and him saying "I'm not like you, I'll never be like you" and stuff. I'm curious what his father did, maybe from when he said "bring her back" he might be referring to his mother, that i think his father might have killed. Yeah i just thought that was incredibly interesting and I'm also super curious😅
Apparently in Free Time Events, he said her mother was a lawyer and admired her. It seems like he thought Diana was her mother because of the resemblance they have.
@@_mochawaves_6163 My guess is that the blackmail is gonna be the Chekov's Gun of the game. It just seemed far too important. Not to mention Damon only showed the picture to the gang, not the actual text.
SPOILERS (for execution and culprit) that execution was actually so insane what the hell. i genuinely have no words like the math tools??? the collar forcefully pulling her despite her attempts to not let it happen???? the suspense?? cara?????? DAMON’S TEARS??? god that left me so speechless all i could do was stare at my ipad’s screen…😭😭😭😭😭 i honestly wanted to hear so much more from the culprit, i thought she was going to last so much longer in the game…man all i can say is good freaking game bro goodnight😭😭🙏 could not believe her desperation and never-ending dedication to escape from her execution. rest in peace ultimate liar, i’m sure she didn’t lie at all about saying she deserved to live 🥹
Just finished watching chapter 1... thinking "oh man too bad this is an indie project done by volunteers, guess I'll have to wait a year for the next part of the story, damn I really enjoyed it" JUST TO FIND OUT THERE'S MORE??!?! FIVE HOURS TOO--YOU DID THE WHOLE TRIAL??!! HOLY SHIT DUDE............ bro I've never seen anything like this T_T be careful everyone of the suggested videos, and the rest of the comment section, I've heard tales of spoilers everywhere
[SPOILER TERRITORY. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK] Okay first off amazing chapter as a whole! Secondly Eva being the killer was definitely not something I was expecting, I honestly expected her to last longer, but her character is honestly so damn interesting and complex. I also don’t blame Damon for being pissed off at Diana’s whole words about “Following in Wolfgang’s footsteps” especially after Wolfgang made him an outcast. Speaking of Damon, he is honestly one of the most interesting protags cause he subverts what a regular protag would be similar to Teruko from DRDT. Wenona and Desmond are also favorites of mine as well. But I don’t exactly like Grace, I’m just hoping that her ego got knocked a peg from this chapter, or she will get humbled later. That being said I need to talk about specifically the P:EG community. I’m just gonna say this outright don’t say you want more flawed female characters in Fangans if you can’t even handle Eva’s character, I don’t want to hear any of you saying that if you’re not even willing to understand Eva. Secondly, I’ve seen this same damn comment about wasted potential or some crap. I’m sorry would you rather them kill someone who had no development whatsoever thus killing any chance of that character developing? This is Danganronpa, you can’t just develop every character before two or more of them has to be killed off, especially when you have a cast of 16 different people, how exactly do you expect to get a full development of a character before they are a victim or a culprit, it’s fundamentally impossible with this sort of thing to develop a character fully before they are killed off. I’m sorry if you want more development for Wolfgang and Eva, but don’t go blowing up at the people behind this project just because they couldn’t fit a whole full game character development INTO ONE CHAPTER FOR TWO PEOPLE IN A 16 PERSON CAST THAT ALSO NEEDS DEVELOPMENT AS WELL! If you care about this project and its community, then actually support this project with positivity instead of getting pissy when your favorites are killed. Oh boo hoo your favorite character got killed? Cry me a river, this is freaking Danganronpa get over it already.
Every character has loads of potential, I can see tons of AU's and differing plotlines where Wolfgang and Eva live longer, and that's generally what Danganronpa stories should feel like. Both of them were great characters who would have served the story well. Someone has to die early on, and these two were mutually great. After just finishing the chapter, I'm surprised to hear there's controversy surrounding Eva allegedly. But I suppose some people lack media literacy. Eva's a largely unsympathetic killer that killed in a really degrading yet clever way, who did what she did because of a multitude of factors the game led up too. What she did was awful, but you can understand why she did what she did. Throughout the entire trial people were still making fun of her talent and undermining it.
I agree. However, I do think they had huge extreme potential, I would’ve liked to see their characters more, but thats quite with every character in P:EG. The game devs themselves said that this fan game isn’t going to have the same beats as Danganronpa. Just because it’s a fan game of the real thing, we should still treat it as a separate game. Spoilers below - But moving on, I don’t know why, but I really think Desmond and Damon are going to be a locked duo, despite them not being dorm mates. You can see in the interaction of the chapter that they both more or less respect each other, with Damon saying “he’s one of the few normal students,” and Desmond being pretty chill with Damon, despite his speech from the mock trial. I hope Desmond does become important. I like his more chill attitude, and I think with Diana possibly being the antagonist of the story, with her being probably a nod or a parody to the whole Danganronpa hopeful protagonist (she does have the pin), it would be basically a weird way of Optimism vs Realism, especially with how the other characters reacted to her speech (which was pretty funny).
Honestly I really resonated with Eva, she really reminded me of myself in a way, feeling completely shunned by everyone was a feeling I related heavily to. Grace really annoyed me this chapter, I used to love her bold and fearless she was but now its just plain annoying and enraging. Anyways I think Eva's character is already incredibly fleshed out and I really enjoyed it. Although what she did was cruel I will never hold her for it, the fact is no one stood up for her against wolfganfs treatment of her and Damon even with someone supporting you on the sidelines it fucking hurts when you see people supporting the man that's isolating you from others. While I love insane characters Eva's character is probably my favorite out of all females because of how much I resonate with her lol
SPOILERS (BEWARE) i don't ever comment but this was absolutely phenomenal. Wolfgang being the first victim was surprising at first but slowly made sense after I realised how much focus his character had gotten in both the prologue and this chapter. ALSO ELOISE GOT MORE INVOLVED IN THE TRIAL, I'm so happy :D I love how Eva's character was written and her feeling of inferiority and insecurity makes me wanna hug her so bad 😭 2ND FIRST BEST GIRL DYING WAS NOT ON MY BINGO CHART (wenona stans unite). The murder plan was so well-executed and planned and Eva prolly wouldn't have been outed if it weren't for her exposing her blackmail to Damon. Gurl literally picked the best person to murder (aside from Damon himself) and a part of me thinks that she set up the mechanism which would result in the explosion of the generator as a way to show ppl that she's more than just a mathlete and that she's more than capable in other academic fields. I feel so bad for Diana though, she witnessed TWO people dying right before her eyes, give this girlie a break pls THE EXECUTION? was not prepared for the quality and how torturous it was, though from what P:EG has been cooking I dunno what I was expecting. The fact Eva still tried climbing up the conveyer after being LITERALLY IMPALED by math tools and pins, SHE GOT THAT DEDICATION. If I hadn't been spoiled abt her being the killer beforehand I prolly would've been more surprised abt her being the blackened. THANK YOU TO THE P:EG TEAM THIS IS TRULY THE BEST XMAS PRESENT. 🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯wenona+everyone else🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯 (oh yea candles for wenona, and everyone else cus I'm getting too attached)
@@duphin5045 it kind off was a good and bad telling him everything, like kwoning everything she knew would make easy to pin the murder on him if Diana framed fail, but it also end up making him the one to discover her
Im glad Eloise got a cooler head during some parts of the trial/investigation. it let more actual character show through, and im glad she's not just the "weak crying character". also oh my god they really needed to just let diana live. let her have her moment, she has three and a half lifetimes worth of trauma already let her have a hope speech...
I thought Dianna was gonna die but that speech at the end has me thinking she might be a survivor, or end up being more important than we all thought like Chapter 5 importance or something
I just finished the chapter and I gotta say, this was an absolute masterpiece from start to finish, an absolute roller coaster of the many emotions that Danganronpa also made me feel years ago, the voice acting, art, music, it was all so well made and put together that this game will be something i will absolutely be going to be thinking about for months. Cannot wait to see where the story and this project will go from here, because it completely blew away my expectations and the theories I had from chapter 0.
Fr I legit got spoiled and from what I've saw bcz someone posted a video of the ending of the trial From now on I'mma make sure to watch after the premier and it's best that if people don't wanna get spoiled they should watch after the premier Not only that I heard the last chat had said loads of inappropriate stuff about the characters
like i support selfshipping and i dont mind if you really love a character but keep your weird fantasies to yourself. you're commenting on a PUBLIC chat area, ANYONE can see it.
I recommended viewers to turn chat off, unfortunately spoiling definitely can happen and people could 'hide' the spoliers by pretending their theories if that makes sense
I will say none of you are ready for the SEVERAL plot twists Also the boss fight music(idk what the thing before the closing argument is called) is insanely good and I will be playing it on repeat when it comes out
I have to say, I really love this chapter, as well as the characters and story. [SPOILERS] I have to say, I got a lot of thinking about Wolfgang acting really manic while hallucinating and having a mental breakdown (ranting about how he'll never become the person he's holding a high regard to, if I could remember), and Eva having a horrible breakdown after she got found out of being the former's murderer, and especially her massive amount of self-hatred and abhorrence of her own talent after all the bullying she received from her classmates and all the pressure she got from her teachers (and maybe from her parents as well). I wonder if the story will revolve around how the world exploits young, talented students and all the awful results from it. I wonder if each of the characters would realize how exploited they and their talents generally were throughout the killing game, especially Damon. Could this be Tozu's true goal? To drive the students into a despairing truth about the current state of the world? Anyway, amazing chapter, and an amazing fangame so far! I'll see you all in two or three years!
Same. It was genuinely heartwarming to see them become such close friends. I was honestly rooting to see more of them as a duo.. The slow unraveling of Eva's plan was really hard to watch. I don't think she was lying when about what she said to Damon in the storage room, I think she genuinely regretted how events forced her to set up a murder and betray his trust. Similarly, I doubt she personally hated Wolfgang or wanted him dead, but she definitely resented him for isolating her and making such an easy target in the first place (and yeah.. any fan in this community can tell you that the prevailing theory was that Eva was going to be the first victim).
A neat detail is... Eva probably only told Damon about Desmond's blackmail so she wouldn't be the only one who knew about the weapons. She thought she would be able to pin the crime on him if push came to shove. However, she didn't expect that the game tournament would create a stronger alibi for him than it did for her.
yeah she shouldve controlled the brackets better to make sure he didn't go first. she needed his positioning to be questionable and leave room for doubt
Now THIS is how you make a chapter actually resemble the title! The previous games never made a successful correlation to the title and main plot of each chapter
Tbh, this is one of the most interesting and logical danganronpa fan made ive ever seen. To the characterisric they put into each character to the way by little details on action and reason they put onto it is reither exciting. I mean, when we first got introduce to wolfgang we thought hes going to be the main antagonist, but in truth his the first to be the victim. Alot of fans( including myself) were suprise by this. But then again, by logic, no way the killer want a LITTERAL lawyer to solve this case . You can even look back the past video on them of the fake trial, how he sattle that trial along with Desmon thats obvi's where there ass get whooped. And not to mention, Eva tries to frame Diana, the litteral "nice person" in the group. I mean ofc the logical thinking for a human could think is that The nice person will appear to be "suspicious" like a stereotype "double 2 face" played out. Eva is such a well written and smart character dude. Solving a litteral poster to get the pass-traitor code. I really appreciate The team on making this masterpiece. I hope to see a another cooler and amazing chapter theyll give in the future!
We have 14 students and 5 chapters left, Tozu said that the game would stop once there are only 2 survivors remaining. Assuming that it will not have any suicides and with one double-kill, then it will have 3 survivors.. My point being Eden's Garden may do a triple-kill or do a sacrifice like in V3. Tozu haven't mention about double plus killings yet so we'll see
Actually....the cast would probably defeat Tozu and destroy the game in the end.....So there much likely to have more than 2....I think there will be at least 4 survivors
V3 I believe specifically also stated the Killing Game would last until two people remain-it simply seems like a blanket rule since essentially trials can’t be held with two people, rather than hinting that there WILL be two survivors. If they want, they could have one person live on as well
@@isaiahbaylor8337 yeah that's the case, they said they wouldn't follow the tropes regarding each DR trial, and they quoted as exemple the 3rd trial always having 2 victims. HOWEVER they didn't said there would never be 2 victims, just that the third chapter wouldn't follow that trope which is different...
@@superquent9045 My guess is either chapter 2 or chapter 4 will have multiple of victims, and perhaps more than one killer. One thing we have not seen yet is 2 victims and 2 different killers, or a triple murder(there are no limits in the rules so far). With a triple murder, there might need to be a suicide case though, to balance the numbers, if they go for more survivors than 4 in the end. They might just kill everyone in the end, except the 2. It could go something like this, considering it ends in the bleakest scenario: Chapter 2: 3 people are killed, one is executed as the mass murderer. 10 people left. Chapter 3: 2 people are killed, turns out they both targeted and managed to kill each other, but the other one is a delayed death. 8 people left. Chapter 4: 1 killed, one is executed. 6 people left. Chapter 5. 1 killed, one is executed. 4 people left. Chapter 6. Battle royale, remaining people given weapons, or provided hints to locations of them(they contain a random weapon from anything of a billy club to M-16) and told to hunt each other until there are 2 left(same as in Cara's case). 2 people die, 2 are left, the game end. Chapter 2 and Chapter 4 might also be swapped.
Spoiler! I love this so much! I am a bit angry that Wolfgang died because him and Jett are my fav characters but if I must admit, his way of being murdered was put so perfectly. Eva being executed was unexpected and they way she was executed had me in shock, it was so brutal. Like thinking she had a chance of surviving and she also had to go through all the pain such as being lodged with screws and metal which made her bleed a ton, and finally thinking she would get help just to fall down to her demise which is a literal burning furnace is insane!
This is the First time an execution (other then maybe leon/gonta) made me feel sick, like i actually wanted to vomit a bit…. It’s so fucking good, you out did yourself every step of the way, i hope this gets finished i don’t care if chapter 2 takes 3 years again it will 10000% be worth the wait
It was 2 years. It might not take so long, as I understand a lot of that time went on readying the basic big trial systems and honing the models, that work is now mostly completed and it may not take that long for the next to be completed. Depends on how far the writing is and how their personal lives go during the next years.
SPOILER for this and for the DR games: . . . . . . I know some people have been complaining about Eva's character being cut short or disappointing, but I actually really like how she's a subversion of other characters like Kyoko, Chiaki, or Maki. She's not some mysterious badass with secrets to hide and a good heart under her shell, she's just a normal person who's messed up from a letdown of a life and ended up consumed by resentment and hatred. It's sad, but it's just so mundane compared to the others, and I think that's interesting. (Also, I really like that the joint narration of the Closing Arguments is apparently here to stay, that's a nice touch.)

You’re cooking with this game!!!!!!!
Can you fix the Rebuttal Showdown? My slashes aren’t working at all, meaning I’m unable to progress the game
@@GentleIceZat least two people, now. Rip my boy 😭
The execution was actually genuinely so unsettling ong they really outdid themselves, makes me scared of what they'll do for future chapters ToT

Yea

We did. You have created a masterpiece. I hope Cassidy Amber will make it far.
This is definitely worth the decade we’re gonna wait for the full game
4:46:14 omg I love how the killer is actually properly defending themselves and even has a plan for what happens if they get revealed in the trial.. to frame someone ELSE and stay calm etc.. this trial is very well done!
Yup love how manipulative and cunning and calculated the culprit is
Except for the noticeable 45 minutes gap logic in between Diane arriving and the explosion. Diane arrived at 8.45 A.M. and explosion happened at 9.30-9.45 A.M. (around that time). So question is... WHAT was happening in that timeframe? Judging by Diane's story everything ended in 5 minutes or so... where did all that time go?
@@mr.needlestan2954 yeah and also, how exactly did the door get locked? did I miss something?
@@mr.needlestan2954Well what Diana was describing was just a summary. And a summary that long obviously lasted for a while. We don’t know how long she tried to defend herself. She said she waited for Wolfgang to grab her hand. We don’t know how long she waited, and stuff like that. I’m willing to bet that Diana and Wolfgang’s quarrel was a little lengthier than it appeared, especially because they were saying about how they were yelling at each other.
@@batato9626 It was a lock on close door I believe. Cause in the manga it said when Diana closed the door it locked.
I might sound kinda dumb but I prefer the protag doing the retelling. It gives a real sense of conclusion. Just personal taste, though.
@@Seth_blessingSozosame, makes the "protagonist" really the protagonist of the story.

(Spoiler warning)
I can’t believe nobody’s talking about Damon
Damon is one of the smartest expectation-subverting characters I’ve ever seen.
Sure he was being a bit self centered but he meant well when he said they shouldn’t trust each other so easily, yet it’s obvious he was willing to understand Eva, heck maybe even trust her a bit because she was smart with her “not trusting anyone” mindset, and yet she is the first person as the blackened
I honestly couldn’t ask for a better person to be blackened though, there were days going on in the chapter and nobody died, they had the stuff to live and support, and almost everyone wanted to band together, and even if the traitor thing came into play, only two people didn’t want to trust and work together, our protagonist who despite his selfishness isn’t really a bad person, and the outcast who already was antagonized and constantly jabbed at by the groups “leader”, and also seemed selfish as it was, it was not only realistic but a damn good plot twist
I also found it really interesting that apparently Eva and Wolfgang weren’t actually going to be the antag and support to our protagonist, if the game does end up doing that then I’m wondering if Kai will take the role of support, and since Diana is becoming the new Wolfgang she will be the antagonist or something
Wolfgang was not only the leader but also someone who was smart and kind towards the others so with him gone, who’s to say that these “morals” of the people will remain
Damon is also an archaic spelling of the word "Demon".
I so agree!! It's refreshing to have a mc like him
I can tell that the voice actress for Grace is putting all she has into this role especially at 3:03:28
FR homegirl went all out !
That "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!!" should not have made me laugh as much as it did, like that is some _legit_ Aussie rage and I loved it
I didn't even get to see that cuz I took the hidden route to prove Diana's innocence lol
4:28:48 no this actually makes so much sense, no other character would also know that information. omg
I know people commented earlier that wolfgang was killed because his talent was too OP and he was too smart to be kept alive, but I didn't expect it to be the same case for the killer as well... bro this is like drv3 but instead of kaede dying it's like kokichi and shuichi or something, bro thats crazyyy
It’s honestly so refreshing to see. How in the entirety of v3 NOONE thought to kill the detective???? And Shuichi was also frail and depressed he was such an easy target
@@ptr4410 V3 Spoilers:
It's because none of the killers had motive to in-game
1: Kaede obviously wasn't going to
2: Kirumi wanted someone who gave up on life and an easier target, and Ryoma was better than Shuichi for that goal
3: Kiyo is a woman-serial killer, Shuichi's out of the question.
4: Miu clearly wanted Kokichi out in general. Yes, she should've thought of getting Shuichi as well, but she was probably banking on the fact that she had an alibi.
5: Kaito and Kokichi, and technically Maki, were obviously dealing with their own things, they didn't need to kill Shuichi
No matter how you see it, Shuichi just wasn't in the minds of any of the killers

SPOILER WARNING
I honestly really love the fanbase and the characters' parallels on Wolfgang and Eva. Wolfgang was someone the whole cast liked and followed as their leader, while Eva was the outcast that no one trusted. While in the fanbase Wolfgang seemed suspicious and evil and Eva seemed sweet and misjudged. However the true nature of these two characters was completely different. Wolfgang died, pitied and respected by the other students, his behaviour turned out to be genuine (at least it's hinted that he was really trying to be good) while Eva died as someone tragic, hated by everyone else and as someone who hated everyone, not what you'd expect from your typical antag and support, red herring or not
This comment summarizes the chapter perfectly
eva was not hated by everyone else though, its somewhat understandable what she did after tozu basically threatened her
Ik I just watched it but what was that thing Tozu said earlier? That sometimes the simpler answer is the real one
What else can she draw from this scenario other than: "None of this would've happened if the others hadn't isolated and targeted me (like everyone else has in her life), and now I have no choice but to betray the few who might actually care about me."
tozu is SUCH a troll for giving all the girls horse calendars but giving the boys a male pin-up model 😭

I am slowly starting to believe that the "dummy victim" in the prologue was actually Wolfgang's sister (same hair as his mother) and that he might have projected her on Diana when he was hallucinating, something like that.
I also remember that weird interaction between Diana and Damon from the day before (check the previous daily life video at 4:20:06), that one hasn't been adressed in the trial at all so I assume it's being kept for later, which once again mean there might be more to Diana than what was shown here...
spoiler for this video :
Also the big irony in the dummy being used for assisting in the execution of Wolfgang's killer, revenge even in death
Nice
What was the weird interaction between Damon and diana? I don’t remember
I'm not Christian but man I sure love seeing references to the Bible in games
Honestly any religious references are always cool if done right
OH MY GOD 😭😭
I also love how Eva sounds similar to Eve, the first to fall into Satan's temptations (like how Eva was the first to fall into the killing game's temptations)

I meant his mother is a redhead and Diana is also redhead sooo
OH MY GODDDD OUGH MY HEART
i actually thought that the hallucination was about his father, because of the blackmail i am pretty sure that he resents his father for killing his mother (my theory) it makes more sense because later he says something about him being different
L he deserved it eva shouldve won , eva smart , eva did nothing wrong. wolfgang sucked and his design is rlly boring and basic eva my beloved.
Wolfgang got shocked and Eva really got burned I am glad both them died lol they were loser shitheads 😜
(POSSIBLE SPOILERS)
If im gonna be honest, I don't really want a nagito/kokichi antagonist.
What the freak, I wasn't expecting to write this much 😭 I can write this in ten minutes but spend two weeks on a formative English assignment.
I really hope Diana lives through trial two though 😭 I wanna see how she's gonna step up and try to lead everyone
(shes also my second favorite character after Wolfgang, I cant lose my top two in a back to back chapter)
I agree but neither Nagito nor Kokichi is completely crazy evil, crazy yes, but like you said their views just align differently.
@@PrincessAlliOfFreaks I think Diana is gonna be the type of antagonist that challenges Damon’s beliefs throughout the story, while a character like Wenona is going to be closer to that byakuya role.

damon its tozu, confirmed
(Like Damon did)
Mark doesn't even want people to COMMENT on his musical ability, compliment or insult.
I wonder if other chapters of the Book will foreshadow future chapters in the game.
oh my god. this is actually a really beautiful way to convey that theory, you tied a lot together! awesome job!
I agree though I feel like the theme of logic vs emotion will probably be more prevalent then judgement
Good analysis. It definitely fits, especially with the subtle christian themes.
Alright, now can we pinpoint a culprit and a victim for Cain and Abel?
@@Handler4Dayz if the story and death order is going off on how the bible goes then the next chapter's killer's motive could be jealousy of their victim. The murder of Abel wasn't premeditated so its possible the next murder won't be either. But given how the creators created such a complex murder method its possible the killer might have had some luck. But that's just a theory. A GAME THEORY

I did a whole analysis of it
SPOILERS-
She climbed her ladder, as she was pressured into becoming a mathelete.

SPOILERS BELOW
Eva is a perfect example of what Sayaka would have become had her plan worked.
Spoliers
Right and also Rantaro was made to be like this important character and was killed off much like Wolfgang
If someone told me Eden's garden was an official Danganronpa game I'd believe them
This game is so good
I was thinking the same about Eva and Sayaka, actually. It was an interesting concept.
Also the vent for V3 i guess
I think the "they use elements from all three mainline games" thing also actually ties in nicely to the whole "history repeats itself" theme the game is going for (on a meta level obviously I'm aware it's a separate universe)
Spoilers:
The fact that Eva was spending time in the basement for her free times was a great detail.
That detail was why I had the sudden epiphany of who the killer was (along with the fact that only Eva could know the boiler room layout so well)
It broke my heart so much when I realized she was the killer, I kept making up reasons for her until the evidence got too damning to let her slide 😭🙏
@@ThatBowl0fRiceAnother clue, if you were as insane as me, is that Eva’s “console” is not a gachapon prize. I cleared that whole thing.
Am i the only one who saw a portrait of a crow mask in blood? And Eva is characterized by birds with the feathers, the blood represents shes the killer, they hinted at her the entire time
And once again, no one seems to recognize Damon’s attributes to the trial, this guy is going to have a Vendetta for everyone 😔
That's what happens when people see you as an ahole. Same thing happened to Byakuya, Nagito and Kokichi.
Mostly because of what happened at the beginning, like since then everyone just kinda turned against him more or less

Exactly, it's so well done, the only thing that could be improved is probably the non stop debates with a much more smoother animation after shooting the truth bullet.
If they updated that in the future, this is literally like a real official Danganronpa game!
@@ScarlettUsagiyeah, story, art and music are beautiful, but VFX effects still need a lot of work
@@batalayar glad there's people who agreed with me, I don't wanna criticize much because for a fan game this is already above impressive.
Like you said the vfx could still use a bit of improvement, and probably slightly better design on some of the class trial graphics.
The timing with some specific animations as well, like the speed of it? If it was faster (the rebuttal showdown)

SPOILERS::::
One thing that I'm TOTALLY beating myself up over is figuring out the culprit. Side note, looking through the lens of the Christian idea of 'original sin' in which everyone is inherently sinful ever since sin entered the world (because of Eve's action in the garden) is a really interesting thing to explore in context of the story now
Once in a fanfic the author made a little comment about Eva being Judas and Wolfgang being Jesus
Eva is actually eve in latin
also the fact that the schools symbol is an apple, and Damon's animal symbol is a snake.
@@datnastysalad5616on one hand, it makes sense for Damon to die in the next chapter due to Adam being the second to bite the apple
On the other hand I feel like it makes it way too obvious for chapter two for him to die
For chapter one I feel like it makes sense that the first culprit is related to the first sin
But now that we know Eva is Eve, the one who gave into temptation, Damon who is Adam dying next feels too easy to catch
Then again the fact it’s too obvious also means not as many suspect the most obvious option
SPOILERS
When I watched Eva's execution... There was only one thought I could hear in my mind.
"Is this even real?"
Not a SINGLE Fangan has EVER made me think that way, not even ONCE!
When Desmond says she was only trapped into having to murder because she went back on everyone first she automatically puts herself in a victim role of being killed, not even framed *being killed*
Her life outside was miserable and the people who bullied her for being a math elite have much to be ashamed of but she became worse than them when she killed someone and attempted by proxy everyone else.
@@fruitloops2058 I agree. She probably felt constantly under attack, which justified in her mind her petty way of acting.

After watching this, I feel sorry for Damon. I know that he can sometimes be…mean-minded, but he has sympathetic traits that I’ve noticed about his personality. I also sorry that now he doesn’t have anybody to connect with anymore (if the students continue giving him the cold reception).
I mean, the others did so as consequences for his shitty behavior. Now he needs to earn their trust back.

SPOILERS ABOUT CHAR
It's so sad how no one ever thought of Eva being anything more than a mathlete.

Seem like Wolfgang and Eva were the fakeout rival/support. And it seem like Diana is going to be the one that challenge Damon's ideology and Kai is going to be Damon's actual support. This will be interesting.

Ngl I didn’t think about Kai being support, I feel kinda dumb for that, but at least Diana’s probs ganna be the antagonist now
project eden's garden compensates what danganronpa lacked: in p:eg, there's no fan service, not only the protags have the "um actually" moments (everyone, even kai, jett, and cassidy bring up important things during the trial). im just wondering whether the world outside is also destroyed and if theres a mastermind like in the original danganronpa games. i hope to find out!!

When the chapter released, I didn't open any of my socials 😭😭
SUPER SERIOUS SPOILER:
The killer is Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney. He was jealous of Wolfgang and snuck into the Killing game just to kill him.
Now Toshiko and Maya are traumatized-
Damn. Didn’t think he’d jump games to do that ._.
Omg I can’t believe it :(( my fav char frfr
ughh curse you phoenix wright from ace attorney!
Noooo he was my fav :((
Sorry I wrote this after finishing the class trial right before this gameplay bcs how amazing they choose wolfgang and all thing happen in class trial that show how complicated this murder
***SPOILER***
everything that happened in the prologue class trial really affects chapter 1 and maybe other chapters in the future, also I really love how eva act like a killer in first chappet, give all she have, using her talent to making a crazy mechanism for her killing
Wolfgang and Damon could have been Eva's targets, if only Damon didn't support Eva's opinion (that maybe affects Eva emotion bcs its her first time have someone who agree with her), makes it possible for him to be Eva's target seeing how Wolfgang and Damon are the spearheads of the class trial and will make it difficult for Eva to win
After Wolfgang died, everyone who was previously in the prologue class trial just said yes or didn't really want to participate or agree with all of Wolfgang's opinions, slowly in the chapter 1 trial they started to express what they wanted to say, regardless of whether it was related to Wolfgang's death or not (like Eloise, Kai, Toshiko). As for some poeple who still wanna understand how wolfgang could be killed and be part of the discussion
Wolfgang showing his fangs, then became Eva's target, showed a completely a LOGICAL thing that not happen in canon danganronpa series in the first chapter that the first killer would never choose the right target to make they win to escape
if only the prologue class trial had never happened, then there would have been the same cliche murder as danganronpa or fanganronpa before.
I honestly want to let the team cook on this. We are really deviating from the danganronpa formula
Spoilers of course -
I 100% agree.
Ofc Damon inner will react exact same thing as he really really hate that but I'm sure he can hide it from his face
Damon is one complicated character, in trial he hide his feeling when try to unmask eva killer face, but when saw her deatn Damon tears comes down
@@Briya4wn Yes It's really an impact, he watched culprit scream at him whatever it was and it showed the player what he saw 5:33:33 / The pov is amazing

Wolfgang Akire and Eva Tsunaka
Adam and Eve
Eve/Eva was the one who picked the apple from Lucifer’s snake form/Damon, which she has passed it on to Adam/Wolfgang.
Wait oh god is the next chapter going to be like cain and able? (I may just be overthinking)
Any idea who could be the victim and killer? @@druvjuice6906
Isn’t Tozus mask a goat? Lucifer is commonly depicted as a goat, so wouldn’t he be the Lucifer stand-in?
@@yoshidoor5229 That’s a good point too. And not only that, Tozu’s throne is behind Damon’s podium in the trial courtroom. Lucifer turned into a snake so he’ll lure Eve and Adam to eat the apple.
Eva was the Ultimate Liar, but was the Ultimate Mathlete revealed. Kinda like how Eve got all the knowledge because she ate the apple first.

Three things:
LMAOOOOOO?????
Actually it wasn't Mukuro Ikusaba. It was Mukuro Ikusaba, The 16th Student, Lying Hidden Somewhere In This School, The One They Call The Ultimate Despair. Watch Out For Her.

2:40:43 The implication that Damon spent this whole trial up to this point just casually holding a rolling pin that nobody thought was strange enough to point out XD
SPOILERS
What sticks out to me in Eva's execution is the fact that you can see multiple sets of stairs behind her at certain points. I can't say for sure, but I suspect that if they hadn't identified Eva properly, all of the students would have been subjected to her execution...
Omg I've just imagine that scene, that would be so cruel
Maybe that can be exploited later on for a plot twist or something, while still keeping with the theme of this game... just thinking
it's a super cool theme, even the title kanji 模倣 appears to translate to imitation. on the nose but no less cool for the implementation
Snow was so talented as Diana this trial (well they always have been) omfg absolutely amazing. Ofc everyone else did amazing too!
Why did the execution feel much more graphic than most of Danganronpa's executions
because it actually is
Because it is less cartoonish or unrealistic and it is longer than the average executions..
Because the character actual felt emotion while they’re being killed. Most official Danganronpa execution have the characters be surprisingly chill with it (not all but a lot of them)
because this execution wasn’t made by spike chunsoft
I’m pretty sure Danganronpa has to keep thinks relatively milder for the age rating, whereas a fangame has the freedom to do what it wants
Please don’t read until you finish the video!)
So I was thinking, it makes perfect sense why Eva had to go.
It won't leave me for a while either, but that's more because of how goddamn difficult the section was...
It's also not leaving my head, but because I died in the boss fight 10 times😭🙏

Those who call this Chapter wasting potential, I would agree but disagree at the same time
Eva and Wolfgang were both portrayed as important characters, and I think having them both dead not only contributes to big ass element of surprise setting a good head start, but also makes A LOT of room for all the other characters to shine
If Eva and Wolfgang stayed alive, the rest of the cast would've might taken a more backseat role
But now that they are gone, it leaves them to take the spotlight (Kai being the new support, and Wenona being an antag or smth)
Anyways this Chapter was dope in setting the beginning of the fangan, and you can't change my mind

despite them both dying this chapter, I honestly believe that despite this, they will still get fleshed out in later chapters.

1ST CHAPTER EXECUTION SPOILERS AND ANALYSIS!
Eva Tsunaka's Execution Analysis by ReynTheWorld
We know she introduced herself as the ultimate liar and it's even crossed out in the text of her execution name with her real talent being below it in bloody text, because it was revealed in the chemistry room that she actually lied about her actual talent
It's also a nice detail that as the ultimate mathlete the things she's being hit by in her way of escaping are tools used in math, it symbolises how she can't escape from that talent and how it'll keep coming back to her and making it worse no matter how hard she runs away from it and tries to avoid it
The fire in the execution can represent two things, the simple one being the phrase "liar liar pants on fire" because she "was the ultimate liar" or well lied about that and the other one being how Eve ate the apple after being tempted to sin and was banished to hell, like how Eva took Tozu's offer and started the killing game and ending up in a deep pit of flames
the fire and execution name is probably a reference to book of isaiah in 48:10 "See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction."
Goddamn this is really good
@@damiristrying True!! it definitely is
@@emc448 Thank you so much!! ^_^

YESS I was wondering throughout the trial if they would ever figure out what wolfgang was saying! I'm so glad someone else caught that!!
Apparently in Free Time Events, he said her mother was a lawyer and admired her. It seems like he thought Diana was her mother because of the resemblance they have.
@disaster8726 This could be used as evidence for the last chapter kinda like rantaros' role in v3 to maybe include wolfgang inlater chapters.
@@_mochawaves_6163 My guess is that the blackmail is gonna be the Chekov's Gun of the game. It just seemed far too important. Not to mention Damon only showed the picture to the gang, not the actual text.
That’s also why Wolfgang probably lost his cool in his mock trial his mother look like Cara and so he had an intense reaction to it

[SPOILER TERRITORY. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK]
Okay first off amazing chapter as a whole!
Thank you so much for talking about the community. I swear to God.😭😭😭😭 that means a ton!!
Spoilers below -
But moving on, I don’t know why, but I really think Desmond and Damon are going to be a locked duo, despite them not being dorm mates.
While I love insane characters Eva's character is probably my favorite out of all females because of how much I resonate with her lol

i don't ever comment but this was absolutely phenomenal. Wolfgang being the first victim was surprising at first but slowly made sense after I realised how much focus his character had gotten in both the prologue and this chapter. ALSO ELOISE GOT MORE INVOLVED IN THE TRIAL, I'm so happy :D
I love how Eva's character was written and her feeling of inferiority and insecurity makes me wanna hug her so bad 😭 2ND FIRST BEST GIRL DYING WAS NOT ON MY BINGO CHART (wenona stans unite).
I feel so bad for Diana though, she witnessed TWO people dying right before her eyes, give this girlie a break pls
THE EXECUTION? was not prepared for the quality and how torturous it was, though from what P:EG has been cooking I dunno what I was expecting. The fact Eva still tried climbing up the conveyer after being LITERALLY IMPALED by math tools and pins, SHE GOT THAT DEDICATION. If I hadn't been spoiled abt her being the killer beforehand I prolly would've been more surprised abt her being the blackened.

I recommended viewers to turn chat off, unfortunately spoiling definitely can happen and people could 'hide' the spoliers by pretending their theories if that makes sense
No frl like people have no respect for others cuz some will purposely do it to make others mad
I will say none of you are ready for the SEVERAL plot twists
Also the boss fight music(idk what the thing before the closing argument is called) is insanely good and I will be playing it on repeat when it comes out
I can't wait!
I have to say, I really love this chapter, as well as the characters and story.
[SPOILERS]
I have to say, I got a lot of thinking about Wolfgang acting really manic while hallucinating and having a mental breakdown (ranting about how he'll never become the person he's holding a high regard to, if I could remember), and Eva having a horrible breakdown after she got found out of being the former's murderer, and especially her massive amount of self-hatred and abhorrence of her own talent after all the bullying she received from her classmates and all the pressure she got from her teachers (and maybe from her parents as well).
Eva's determination in the execution to live like damn that's sad
4:14:07 Ummm actually☝️🤓✨️
STOPPP HAHAHA
SPOILERS FOR CULPRIT
Eva’s execution and Damon crying… AGHHHHHH
I loved their interactions so much… 😭
Me too... It hurts so much I loved their chemistry 😭
IK I FUCKING BAWLED MT EYES OUT
THAT SCENE GUTTED ME😭😭😭😭 it was brutal… just- wow
It make me sad
Fun fact: Grace and Toshiko are the only two who didn’t talk during the closing argument (besides Eva ofc😅)
If they want, they could have one person live on as well
I think the creators SPECIFICALLY said that there wouldn’t be two victims in Chapter 3. Don’t quote me on that, though.
It could go something like this, considering it ends in the bleakest scenario:
Chapter 2: 3 people are killed, one is executed as the mass murderer.
Even better then, i get to wait less for more peak
SPOILER for this and for the DR games:

I know some people have been complaining about Eva's character being cut short or disappointing, but I actually really like how she's a subversion of other characters like Kyoko, Chiaki, or Maki. She's not some mysterious badass with secrets to hide and a good heart under her shell, she's just a normal person who's messed up from a letdown of a life and ended up consumed by resentment and hatred. It's sad, but it's just so mundane compared to the others, and I think that's interesting.
(Also, I really like that the joint narration of the Closing Arguments is apparently here to stay, that's a nice touch.)
Whoever is the VA for Eva needs a raise or a reward, they did such an amazing job
