What if somebody was coming to visit for a couple of weeks and after they stay for a couple of weeks they decide that they’ve liked the place and would like to stay longer that is going to be within the 30 day period especially if they’re only coming for 2 to 3 weeks to visit. How does that work work?
When you arrive in Canada the officer will stamp the date or entry.. And also they will stamp the day you need to leave.. If they don't stamp the day you need to leave. You are eligible to stay up to 6 months from the entry stamp date....
If you want to stay longer than 6 months you must apply for extension.

As per my understanding you can submit it because it say on official website: you should apply at least 30 days before your current status expires. so you can apply earlier as well.
