Paying for Rhystic Study with Simian Spirit Guide has always been a meme. Never thought I'd see it happen.
The other decks trying to sculpt hands and gain card advantage while the Boros deck just unga bungas
Every plan is plausible until it gets punched in the face
Since a game of commander starts with players at 40, dealing 10 damage is literally the same as drawing 25 cards.
I did the math.
The other decks appear to have forgotten that the attack step exists.
Honestly I think commander is about to hit the stage that mtg as a whole did back in 2001 with the philosophy of fire. People really just think that damage isnt viable with 120 life to take care of, but its wins a significant number of games for how "unviable" it is
@@aeoluskingofthewinds276 the reason a single aggro deck sneaks in wins vs 3 other combo/value decks is because the 3 are filled with cards focused on assembling the combo and stopping others win con. Meanwhile aggro is filled with low drop combat value creatures that the other decks have to let slip by focusing only on the big red alert creatures or equipment. Biggest flaw in that strat is relying on everyone else to have the right counters in hand to stop each others combos
Minor mistake: The Stoneforged Mystic isn't a legal target to get with Winota, it isn't a human.
I think Mike just got tired of failing to find so many times and just slipped this one through hoping nobody will notice since it looks like a human.

Mike also ignores the Winona trigger from the Mystic attacking @17:30, so at least he was consistent.

That combo of dualcaster Mage and twinflame made everyone get on high alert xD
Yeah but countering the copy of twinflame was a waste because it wouldn't have comboed since you need to have dualcaster enter with twinflame on the stack. He should have aimed the copy of twinflame at dockside.

That was such a good game. Shoutouts to Boros beatdown for being surprisingly good in CEDH where nobody is running creatures and everyone has Mana Crypt.

This obeka did nothing! I've won turn 4 some games and came out of nowhere sometimes with mine. Lol I've let my opponents resolve a huge wincon just to copy or steal it with haste for the W

I just built this deck a few weeks ago and I really love it. But you have to make sure you bring a coloring book for the other people at the table when you go off.

This seems like it would be more fun to play in digital than paper, because ugh, having to track all that stuff in paper... I still prefer paper, but there's a reason why my +1+1 counter deck from years ago doesn't exist anymore. So tedious.

I knew Krark was super bonkers, so happy he got to pop off. I've already played against a Krark / Silas deck that did similar shenanigans but added Possibility Storm and Knowledge Pool locks while Krark just copies ritual spells all day. I feel like the Sakashima pairing in this deck does so much to turbocharge going all in on the Krark train than the added black

We had so many options, it was hard to choose. So we each chose something we thought would be fun.

Force of negation on the copy of twinflame at 11:20 was a mistake because dualcaster would new a different target for its etb since twinflame will be off the stack when it etb triggers.
How about that - Boros finally has a killer commander option! I think we're going to see a ****-ton of Rograkh/Ardenn toybox decks this year...
11:08 Zack didn't need to Force of Negation the last Twinflame, since Dualcaster wouldn't have had any legal targets after Twinflame resolved on it...

Not gonna lie, Krark // Sakashima might be fighting with Obeka for my favorite deck to come out of Commander Legends. I just love the whacky shit that comes out of it.

Minor misplay: An opponent was supposed to gain control of Wishclaw Talisman after he activated it. I don't know if he didn't bother because he knew the table was dead on the next combat, but he left it on his field.
This game was over webcam. He could've said something in the game, but unless someone spent time to make a token (which they didn't, since the game was over next turn), there's no other way to represent
what a chad move of not doing the Godo combo
I checked out all the deck lists, this game was awesome. I’m new to cEDH, and I’m curious as to what the Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait’s win con was? The other decks made sense, but I couldn’t figure out how to effectively win with Aesi. Would love to know. Thanks!

Not equipping helm on godo was a misplay, not that it mattered.
The last Winota trigger, Mike gets the Kor creature but she says you get only a Human creature tapped and attacking.
Why was the twinflame that targeted dualcaster countered? There was only one copy on the stack so all it would have done is make another dualcaster with no legal targets.

Copying a spell allows you to change targets, not modes.

I’m slow
With the krark on the battlefield, as long as he keeps winning flips, he will get an arbitrary amount of hasty dual caster mages, as when they enter they copy the twin flame on the stack, which copies a dual caster. If he loses a flip then he can keep going with more mana.
Dualcaster mage copies twinflame, the copy targets dualcaster mage. The copy resolves, making a token copy of dualcaster mage that has haste. Dualcaster mage triggers, copying twinflame. Repeate for infinite hasty mages.
Cast Twinflame, targeting a creature you own. Flash in dualcaster mage with twinflame still on the stack. Dualcaster enters, copies twinflame, with the new copy targeting Dualcaster mage. Twinflame resolves, creates a copy of dualcaster mage, and you target the original twinflame again with the ETB of dualcaster. You repeat this process for infinite dualcaster mages with haste. Then you swing and win.

17:40 the Drake should either still be in play but back under its owner's control after the player leaves the game or be in its owners graveyard if it was used as a blocker
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that cards that a player doesn't own, but was under their control when they leave the game get exiled.
@@SambaMike That's true if the object in question came into play under that player's control to begin with like a Bribery effect. Drake is a control change effect not unlike a Mind Control in regards to this ruling. In those cases control reverts back to the last player who controlled it.

Question: At 11:10, Adam targeted Dualcaster Mage with the Twinflame. Wouldn’t this do nothing? I thought Twinflame would resolve making a copy of Dualcaster Mage and then Dualcaster Mage would have no targets because Twinflame had already resolved meaning that it is off the stack, in the graveyard. Why did this have to be countered?
Correct. He didn’t fully understand how the combo worked.
I've been wondering who's better between Tatyova and Aesi.
They play very similar. You get Tatyova a turn earlier, but Aesi gives you an extra land drop per turn. Tough call.
In cEDH, I'd say Tatyova is better. The difference between 5 CMC and 6 CMC is not negligible, and the lifegain can make a world of difference when your lands, mana rocks and life payments keep chipping away at your life total.
@@DarkEinherjar except tatyova is easy to kill as a 3/3, I still side with aesi, but I guess it depends on your build
minor mistake: Deflecting swat can only target spells, not abilities so it can not redirect Dualcaster Mages ability

Skullclamp is an artifact, not a creature. Cursed Totem only stops creature activated abilities.

I would have thought that after a 1st Krark returns a spell to your hand that it can't be copied by the 2nd one?
We thought so too at first, but Krark remembers the spell whether or not it’s still on the stack at the ability’s resolution.

Equip abilities are activated abilities of an artifact, not the creature.

I'm not going back in the video now. But if you have both targeting the counter spell then your spell has a much higher chance of resolving. They would need 2 separate counters.
You can reselect targets with copies, but you cannot reselect modes. So he couldn't choose Rhystic Study as a target when the original is targeting a spell.
