Dig Dug Suspension Transformation

- Опубликовано: 23 авг 2024
- Dig Dug gets the ultimate suspension upgrades as Tom Tom begins to install the trailing arm rear suspension. This squarebody Chevy will no longer be at the back of the pack out on the trail. Bilstein coil overs and bypass shocks arrive just in time for a test fit.

Just finished watching Matt and I really needed to see someone using a tape measure. So now I am here. LOL
Hey, he did use one… once
Measure 6 times cut once
@@MurCurieux of course Tom Tom knows how to use a tape measure and that is why Matts spud truck is doomed because Tom Tom isn't there to measure things. LOL
@kevchard5214 the morvair and banana does pretty well and will out do anything u own🤷🏽 and they was done without tom tom🤔.... I think tom spent his time at morr to learn not the other way round
😂
Man Peyton seems like a great neighbor to have. Great work
Can't wait for Matt's spring cups to show up on dig dug...
😂😂😂
LoL 😂😅
Seeing a video about the backstory of Dig Dug would be great!
Let's hear the back story on Dig Doug.
Always good to see Tom Tom on Sunday morning
Peyton seems like a pretty good neighbor.
i wish you were my neighbor.... youre a modern day mr. rogers; and no higher praise could any real man receive.
Everyone needs a Peyton. Good neighbors.
Peyton is a great addition to your channel Tom he’s a cool dude
23:00 tom tom making the best shanks in county lockup 😂
Just make some jack/lift pads that get welded to the frame. I never understood why more offroaders/racers dont do this. Put dedicated spots on all 4 corners so there is someplace to lift, whether your on the trail, in the shop, or at the track.
This is a great suggestion! I don’t want to learn that our favorite Tom Tom has been damaged in any way😩
@@DavidLorenTosh Or Matt or Paul or Rory or...
*you’re (you are) 🙄
Tom, Dig Dug is coming right along. Enjoying the build 👍🇺🇸
On my C10 I use the front cab mounts brackets and rear spring mounts .works fine for me
Per google: Metal cored wire is a tubular wire filled with metallic powders, alloys, and arc stabilizers. Using it offers higher duty cycles, faster travel speeds, low fumes, and improved cost-effectiveness.
For those who wanted to know 😊
Googled it - for that price I'll stick with flux core.
Nukular Rocket Surgeon builds Dakar Racing rig! I love TomTom's attention to detail and the precision he works at with that somewhat limited shop equipment. Hope you were able to get some good jack stands, so the build can proceed.
Maverick photo (video) bomb incoming! 😃
I had a big, black cat who was the sweetest and always had to be the center of attention... she passed away about a year ago. I still miss her!
Outstanding fabrication! Baja tough!
I really enjoy how you take things in stride. Mess up fix up. I also think that those shocks are gonna look sweet.
Coming along nicely! I would love to here the back story on Dig Dug
Love the painter's tape for layout! Two suggestions: get a magnet for your plumb bob, and use Whiteout correction pens for marking the steel.
Fueling up always works for me and my ecodiesel!!! But that's just a tomehto tomahto thing to me!!! Great video, Tom!!!
Peyton is a good add to the videos.
Pretty cool I can finish watching MORR's new upload and moments later get notified Tom's video is up!
Watching you guys helps me get motivated to go do work. Your positive attitude is contagious!
In the early 2000's for motivation, I used to watch shows like "HorspowerTV" with legendary host Joe Elmore, whom recently passed away. These types of shows, and their host, become special to their audience. Good job on the channel, TomTom 🦃
we call it fueling up in the trucking world😉
Fueling up is what diesel guys say Thomas
Tom glad to see you’re doing great you’ve come a long ways you’re a good man we need tons more people like you and your family stay safe and God bless
💯✊🇺🇸😎
Fueling up Tom Tom. That’s what I used as a trucker.
That was a cool articulated arm on that work table. Would be handy to have.
Like always awesome video and great info.
I am from South Africa and went past Idaho on the way to Yellowstone...what a beautiful part of America. Your trips to Idaho make it even more enticing!
TomTom be da MAN !! Nice chap, skilled at doing what he loves.
Tom, you are lucky to have a strong neighbor like Peyton who just shows up at critical times!
Have to agree - really enjoying this build series!!! Thanks Tom - appreciate all the effort going into this.
Bob would be plum proud...😁
Back in the early 80's Dig dug was one of my favorite Colecovision games. Zaxxon was first fav. Qbert then dig dug. 😆
Loved Colecovision! Mainly because it was essentially the only gaming system I ever had. Had an early "pong" style deal from somewhere that was pretty cool at the time (VERY early 80s), but never owned a Nintendo, Sega, Atari...nothing! My favorites were Turbo with the gas pedal and steering wheel and then a Football game where you had to spin a spinner thing to throw the long bombs! Just seriously dated myself...
I used to be a Technician for a Chuck E. Cheese in the 80's and Dig Dug was one of my favorites too. You need to get Robby to do a Dig Dug theme when your ready for paint.
I bet you Tom’s rig is the most precise rig on the planet
It’s 11% more precise, to be precise.
That shop tour was super cool! Thanks to those guys!
Super nice work!
Good morning happy Sunday- you're always a part of my Sunday morning videos 😀😀😀
Laying some dimes, beautiful welds.
I think you need a Sally for your shop too.👍
6:22 If it weren't for scrap piles, projects would cost twice as much! 💪👍
Awesome progress Tom Tom!!! A little bit accomplished every day will definitely be great at the end for sure!!! I definitely can’t wait to see more progress to come!!!
Fueling up TomTom.
You’re never wrong in the eyes of the perfect people online if you say fueling up.
I love that Tom went solo
Nah, he's married
Thanks for taking us on a field trip tom
Looking good Tom Tom! Thanks for the moments with Maverick. Always good to see the shop kitty! I’m really enjoying this series and your process. Thank you for sharing. :)
Tom, I love what you're doing! I can't wait to see Dig Dug on the trail. Please make sure you show us some amazing off road driving when it's all done! Living vicariously through you all from the very flat Midwest!
Excited for this , very happy for you Tom Tom
Fueling up...
"Fueling Up" ... "Fuel Up" Whether I'm getting gas or diesel that's what I call it.
LOVING THE BUILD TOM TOM GREAT WORK IM A SQUARE BODY FAN
I love the way you explain your processes.
Wish I could have seen you! I work right next door to that rock crawling gym! Good to see your dig dug project coming along!
A history of Dig Doug would be nice.
Tom Tom = engineering brains + fabrication skills.
HI Tom, In the past, I enjoyed what you added to MORR, and have been enjoying your videos here as well. I think this is my favorite of all the vid's you've made at Tom Tom's shop. It's a great mix of fabricating with explanations (yay!), the road trip to Idaho, etc. The music and editing is top notch. I especially like that you show "mistakes" and how you deal with them. Thanks for sharing your creations!
Drivers side back window for the dig dug plate keep up the great work Tom
Peyton thamks for helping Tom Tom out. Hopefully when TomTom's Channel grows bigger he can hire you to help him out
Tom- It's refreshing to see precision and accuracy! While I am ok with the Old "close enough" (Matt) and "eyecrometer" (Paul), I appreciate Tom using his engineering background, methodology, skills, and tools to get things completed as perfect as possible!! Some of us struggle with that thing they call "OCD" and if you do, you might as well use it to your advantage to do things right to obtain as close to perfect results as possible!! Nothing against just slapping stuff together if that satisfies a person and works. I just prefer to do things right the first time as it not only saves time in the long run, but it's far more satisfying and usually produces
much better looking, longer lasting, higher performing results!!! Don't get me wrong, duct tape and bailing wire have their time and place, but probably shouldn't be considered the "final fix it product"! Lol! Thanks Tom for your process and attention to detail!!
You're a great down to earth person, as well as your family.
Nice video!
Thanks for sharing!
Tom, if that old IH has the 9 Litre, I would avoid it. They make a noise that causes hearing loss and permanent ringing in the ears. They're not unusually loud for that era but the sound pressures are unique and very strong.
Yay Maverick! Yes to the back story on Dig Dug.
A person would be lucky to get something Tom built Atleast you would know for sure it’s done right.
I was amazed that it was all gorls working at the shop. Way to go ladys keep up the good work. Thank you Tom Tom for taking us threw the shop
Yes ! the back story of dig dug would be great !
i would love to hear the story of dig dug from the beginning! great project with nice quality.
These videos are peaceful and informative for me.
Thank you Tom!
great video Tom, nice to see some progress being made on Dig Dug, your neighbour is top drawer, if only all neighbours were as cool as him, nice to see you getting some time with the family too, thanks for sharing
I'd love to hear the back story!! I've owned my 1929 Ford AA (degreaded to 1 ton) dualy hotrod/street rod for over 54 years, and know back stories are always interesting too others.
Great add in for the family trip. The explanations behind what you are doing are great. Like Mr Wizard Fabrication!!!
Enjoyed watching again. A backstory about Dig Dug would be awesome! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks for the name explanation
I Love seeing somebody help you in the shop just in case something goes wrong.
Hiya Maverick......
Fueling up is a better saying
The Roman’s built the coliseum using a tripod, a string and a rock!👍🏼👍🏼😃
I just bought these for my rotopax last month. Really slick stuff.
I recommend that you add some steel plate to your trailing arms. Keep up the great work.
Coming along nicely!
We were visiting our house in Kanab and went to pick up supplies in Hurricane. I saw your wife in WalMart but didn't want to bother her. Will have to see you next year when we retire into Kanab. Keep up the great content.
Welcome to the area. Angela is pretty chatty. She’d love to talk to you.
Thanks for the videos Tom! You promised to show us how you organize your scraps. It's something that I struggle with and I'm really interested to see if your method might help. Keep up the good work!
A+ for good tool use! Way to go Tom Tom!
Hello Mr 4x4 WIZARD you make a great video Tom Tom take care its Sunday DAY OF REST
Great video - thanks Tom - love the channel
This build is so sick. I love it.
I wasn’t sad when you left the other channel, I know you would be delivering some epic builds based on your background.. 😎
My family is from Idaho as well!! What a beautiful place huh. Cool episode Tom Tom!!!
Absolutely love watching this channel, straight to the builds clear explanation. Great with coffee
So much to watch. Thanks!
Glad to see the cinder block being replaced. Those can crack and leave hurt or dead persons under the load.
Tom,I just wanted to say I’m so glad you started your own channel. I really like Fabrats and Matt’s channel but being an aerospace machinist some things they did just made me cringe 🤣🤣 keep up the great work. You definitely got a lifelong follower here…
Peyton looks like a young Doc Brown from back to the future
You are an incredible fabricator Tom
Nice license plate and I agree dig dug is the best video game ever
We love what you do! We always watch . My sons name is Bridger ( AWESOME NAME ) !!
Nice save on that tube insert.
Thanks TT, American made Europe Origin... Awesome Build Diggi´n it!
Can't wait to see the project completed
Pretty fun project I totally wish that I knew how to build suspensions from the ground up like this. Very interesting. Keep it up man !
I am enjoying watching your 4-link set upon Dig Dug. Just finishing mine up on my '74 Bronco, shorter travel (and no trailing arms). The Square tubing is looking sharp, with tapered ends as well!
Fuel up
“Maverick is hating this metric tape measure, he’s an American cat.” I laughed too hard at that dumb joke lol
Great video. I totally get your sense of humor. Like the outside the shop stuff too. Cool cat. And yeh dig dug was fun.
Yes, I would love to hear Dig Doug's origin story!!!
