    With your pipe and y pipe on a 850 etec will that be fine with the stock clutch? Just adjust the pdrive clickers accordingly?

    So from what I understand run the clicker on 2, unless it’s a warm day

    In your opinion what is the most “bang for your buck” 2stroke snowmobile mod

      Our pipe and Y combo which is the highest hp by 3 @ 8 is very noticeable and a bolt on. Porting is 4 hp and a lot of work pulling cylinder plus any gain over 8 hp you need to add a fuel controller (shows you how nutty the claims of 12 with a pipe and 10 with porting and no controller are) Check our facebook page preseason sale until Oct 1st. If you do not want to spend the money on a sensible reasonable priced not a $500 one just buy the 970 ramps from your dealer. Check the 850 clutching video on Dyno Port's page I did last year and explains the details better.

    Are the 800ho and etec also a target of 7900? I've seen a few posts saying the old rev tach is off aswell. Should I be checking if it's turning what it says it is?

      Good question the tachs are usually very close. Ski Doo tells you target rpm with the sticker by the clutch so check that. Pretty sure the etec was 8 or 81 and ho the same. I tell people no sense in paying me to dyno just put duct tape over your tach so you don't have to think, run the distance you are going to race your buddy . Move clickers up and down until you see the best mph. Take the tape off and make a run that will be the best rpms. That is the beauty of a Ski Doo clutch you can do all these quickly and easily.

    How does the air effect mountain sleds at elevation (say 7k feet). The 2020 cat is showing peak power around 7900, what would this translate into for a mountain sled?

    • @dynoport9251
      @dynoport9251  5 лет назад +1

      The mountain sleds should have a different ecm program, timing and fuel for altitude along with a tighter stinger on the pipe so the 7900 would hold true for a colder normal temperature in the winter BUT the fact sometimes you guys are wide open for a minute the extra pipe temp would raise rpms 100-150. so 8000+ With adjustable weights you could easily vary rpms and see where you have the best track speed. The air temp and barometer affect you mountain guys the same as us sea level riders but we see more of a temp variation, 10 below to 40 above.

    stock ramps and weights..on 2013 mxz 600rs .i want engagement around 4500 ,,its engaging at 6000 now,,would you have a part number for a softer spring in the 4500 rpm range?

    • @dynoport9251
      @dynoport9251  5 лет назад

      Joe go to your dealer and see what the rate is on primary spring and then get one that the first # is a lot lower, like 50 to 80 range. I think 4500 might be too low pretty sure you are taming it to trail ride. Betting anything around 5000 would be fine as the engine does not have a lot of bottom, a 50-80 spring # lower would probably work good.

    Heck yea, wanna get some tripple pipes for my 800ho

    • @jakelutz22

      I know this is old but Triple pipes on an 800ho ehh..? You mean TWIN pipes as an 800ho is a TWIN cylinder. Now an 809 is a TRIPLE (3) cylinder and has triple pipes from factory and their are aftermarket triple pipes as well for said engine. Hope that helps and makes sense.
