Thank you from a true ISFP who thought she was an INFJ for so many years! How is it possible that all the tests I took lead to INFJ all this time and yet I never completely recognized myself in this profile? And just now, after a couple of new tests to double check, ISFP comes up and it is SO me: an art loving, contemplative lone ranger, whose self created business is to source, curate and sell vintage clothes on Etsy 😄
My results have always been infj and infp, but never really felt like the type "fit" me. The artistic stereotype pushed me away from isfp this whole time because I'm not, but turns out I'm just the normalizing super sidekick😅
I think and I feel you definitely sound like a domaint style isfp or creative subtype ma'am miss you could be a hybrid of subtypes I believe! I believe there definitely there is since systems and processes and and everything mixes together in us anyway like if you look at the 8 congtive functions you are taking on different Myers briggs Types when are unhealthy or healthy or integrating other congtive functions like the Ennegram with the integration and disintegrated Like your own type or personality type in the Ennegram as well! So it's just I think it is the Truth i think! ❤😊
What a helpful podcast. I've felt torn by my work as a conservation officer and ecologist. I work directly with wildlife and outside alot, which resonates deeply. However, I'm also put in stressful dynamic situations, or rigid demanding schedules (government) and project leadership that requires me to be a dominant subtype. I've adapted and grown in these roles, but it's not natural for me. Sometimes I contemplate becoming a forest therapist, something that would fit better as I think I am more tapped into harmonizing. I meant to counsel and encourage others on their journey. But as a high sensation HSP, I would miss the thrill of getting a bear to move of a campground. Maybe a bit of a ramble, but my point is that you have given me an ah ha moment. Thanks
👍I think the out come from your authentic approach would b much more desirable for all concerned than another domineering type . They can only b jealous. Keep up the good wrk . Need more people like you where i come from to look after and feel for the koalas
Interesting! I could find myself in a little of all subtypes. But when you talked about the harmonizing subtype I was in shock. I thought I was infj for the longest time but felt that I was more here and now. I am not living in the future and I don't have a long term plan for my life. I am also not living in a world of abstraction but I am very tied to our real world even if I have a vivid imagination. My careers have been in teaching, nursing, therapy and now I am becoming a drama teacher (I started out my adult life studying theater) I love music and creating with my hands. I am 50 years old and i'm learning for life. It's hard to be the eternal student but you have to evolve and grow. Life would be quite boring otherwise.
Neat thanks love it . Im Isfp and my wife is Enfj and she says im an artist because of my wrk . Im a concretor and specialise in decorayive special finishes . Hard wtk but my love for the last 10+ years is bodybuilding. 💪
I resonate with normalizing ISFP. I’m an administrator by day and perform in various bands nights and weekends and produce music, but I’m not happy in my day job. I want more time to produce music and act, etc, yet I fear I would feel underutilized if I didn’t have a way to use my office skills. I don’t like the aspect of being a decision maker and supervisor in my day job. I struggle with making decisions. I feel better in a support role so long as I have autonomy and don’t have to supervise anyone-the perfectionist in me gets easily annoyed with subordinates who underperform or fail to meet my quality of work. Yet I like working in a team dynamic. I enjoy team projects, working towards a goal and being a key voice in the project. Not the boss, just delegating and communicating tasks. Attention to detail is a strength of mine though it can annoy others around me who lack that trait. I’m definitely not the creative subtype despite having a masters in music and tons of artwork from high school and a catalogue of original music. I don’t like to be a lone wolf. I wish I was the harmonious type but my intuition isn’t strong enough and I feel drawn to solving problems in the physical world.
I'm definitely an ISFP. I'm in my early 20s and just finished a major in Accounting, worked for a year and now I'm sick of it. (Too much dominant and normalizing subtype) now I'm looking to explore the other subtypes which have always called my soul. Any advice? Feeling very lost...
You could do something that has made you stretch in the two subtypes of the creative and dominant substupe while also at work you do something with either your normalizing subtype or harmonizing as well I get i hear from God and Jesus as a Christian you would really enjoy working with people like a crusaded like the red cross or mission works as Christian or non religious peoples or going and doing a hospitality degree or chef or kitchen degree and or certification as well the hospitality world and service world like servers or waitresses get to do those normalizing things or creative things as well or I mean harmonizing as well! Therapists yoga coaches psychologists a holistic health doctors I can give you more for sure!'❤
I loved this and found it so helpful. I think I am a harmonizing IFSP. Just curious would helping people with personality typing along with being and Image Consultant and helping people identify their personal style and way of being perceived in the world? …essentially helping people be their best self by matching their inner self to their outer self to express an authentic version of themselves. I feel this all goes together and I think want to combine this together to help people be seen for who they are.
I am only just now accepting my isfp-ness. Every time i take an mbti test, it gives me a different result. I've pushed isfp away because of the artistic stereotype. I am not at all artistic, crafty maybe, but its I sually to make practical things or prettyfy usable things. But i think the cognitive functions of isfp suit my processes. My favorite job so far has been at a library, especially helping with the auxiliary community events and programs. But covid ended that 🥲now I'm taking a certification class to go into hr, hoping the variability and inherent problem solving will be fulfilling, but time will tell😅 but after this i do feel much better about the potential for my long term happiness in this kind of role. Thank you, sincerely.
ISFP here! I will need to listen to it again to figure out the subtype, but wow! I'm a stay at home mom(almost 18 years), I homeschool my oldest, but my younger two are in public school. I always loved dancing, but at age 10 my sisters made fun of how I was dancing, so for the next 20 or so years I refused to dance. Jesus set me free from that, so I now freely dance for the Lord during praise and worship. I love gardening(flowers and food), birdwatching, crocheting, hand embroidery, and other crafty things. I also enjoy canning food-as I was listening/watching this video, I was canning up vegetable beef soup...I also loved accounting in high school. I know I'm suppose to write a book... but that is proving to be difficult. I really want to learn more about the ISFP and the enneagram 9. I feel like I'm fighting the sloth so much these days. Great video! Thank you.
This podcast was super interesting to me because I have thought that I am an ISFJ for years until recently. Then I was pretty certain that I am in ISFP but I still wasn’t 100% sure. Now I feel a lot more certain because I am pretty sure I switch between the harmonizing and normalizing flavors of the type. I think I am mostly a harmonizing type, because I am going to be a therapist and I love learning about peoples feelings and their stories, but my upbringing and society has also taught me to be more normalizing. I now want to focus on developing the artistic side of me :)
Well, so far, you have described two types of ISTP and I can't choose between them. (sigh). I'll just go with my original assessment. I am a Flamboyant Cheetah.
With your lists of careers under every type, society would literally break down. There has been nothing useful to society listed. Plumbers, electricians, construction workers, builders, line workers, miners, factory workers I could go on.
I was super creative and athletic as a kid, got straight A’s and skipped grades, got in the Jr Olympics. In my twenties, I became an exotic dancer (for 17 yrs. I loved being on stage, more about that and social aspect as I wanted to be a pro dancer as a kid), while also being a makeup artist, becoming an RN. Nursing forces me to be someone I’m not really otherwise, although I really enjoy getting to know people and counseling in health and lifestyle fitness. I dislike nursing actually. I also became a yoga teacher and thai practitioner and now at 52 am combing my RN credential, yoga, and art to create my own biz. If I had guidance and a mentor at much younger I’d have been very successful in the way that I’ve always envisioned. But very difficult when I can’t stand the mundane details logistics.
People understand that internets is an ironic term! I don't know why you would criticize his attempts to be playful and informal!? I'm sorry but i don't see you guys as a great couple with that kind of energetic exchange!

I think when ISFPs are aware enough of their Fi values and able to articulate them, the world follows.
ISFP here. Behavioral health care manager linking physical health with mental health care. I love this job because it's one on one making a difference

learning about different subtypes was really useful.

Being of service and work flexability, what would that look like for you?

I feel like I’m more naturally a harmonizing isfp but tap into normalizing often.
This should get more views!

It's a DISC + ISFP combination, right?
I like the idea of subtypes, which broadens the types from 16 to 64.
What if ylur a hybrid it sunds like im a harmonizing and normalzing type!
I'm in both harmonizing and creative ISFP type
I identify with 3 of those subtypes. Harmonizing doesn't really apply as I don't like humans enough to want to be a therapist or counselor.
Well, so far, you have described two types of ISTP and I can't choose between them. (sigh). I'll just go with my original assessment. I am a Flamboyant Cheetah.
I'm still not sure if I'm a dominant/normalizing ISFP or an INTJ with ADHD.
its interesting how some test give out infj instead of isfp sometimes
16:00 ISFP Creative Subtype

Ok now I'm just confused. ISFP who relates to ALL 4 subtypes equally, in some way or another
I think when ISFPs are aware enough of their own Fi values and able to articulate them, the world follows
I'm in both harmonizing and creative ISFP type
