Hi Darryl, we appreciate the in depth review & some of your feedback! Feel free to drop us a note and let's work out a time if you are interested to take a look in person. Cheers.
You didn't mention escaapod topo2 teardrop all fiberglass body 43k weight 1650 pounds bottom line is any of these offroad camper trailers worth that kind of money that only used 2 to 3 times a year depending on where you live and free time
Would have been good to see the Vista RVs in the comparison here, seems to me they are a fairly similar animal. But well done on such an in-depth review, very useful.
Every camper is a compromise somewhere and, in my view, having done over two hundred thousand ks of camping, the Earth gives you most of what you want and deals with the rest more than adequately. But, it has charm, buckets of it.
Went and had a look at it today at the launch. It’s a bloody impressive bit of kit for their first crack. 6 years of design and testing. All the bits and bobs are pretty well designed and look damn solid. Seriously worth considering if your are in the market for a camper and don’t want to kit out your 4WD with fridges and all the off road gadgets or your vehicle isn’t a tray back it’s a great option. The only thing we didn’t like was when you put down the floor it’s a bit rickety and not solid. But given the design and weight restrictions it’s best they can do I guess. Overall it’s a good product and further iterations will improve it.
Thanks for posting your thoughts on it, I'll pop in and have a look during the week. Have you looked at these types of campers previously, just interested if ARB is bringing in new eyes?
@@DarrylSheather we had looked at smaller teardrops and more road going campers as our current tow vehicle is more a soft roader than off road. The more rugged off road campers were not really on the radar but we are looking to get a new vehicle soon that’s more capable and a camper to go to those off the beaten track spots is a consideration. My wife actually was looking at them and saw the ARB. I’m sure the name as a proven off road product is certainly helping them into the camper market for sure.
Wow... what an awesome thoughtful and perceptive review. I watched the walkaround first which helped. Appreciated your experienced comments. Thank you. One thing... why didn't you include the Ultimate Camper in your bundle of comparo?
I'm a big fan of the Ultimate, however when we are looking at these pod type style of campers the canvas of the Ultimate is its downside (same with Patriots X3). The ability to have no setup/pack down along with a hard shell to sleep in is something of a game changer and you really have to experience it. These can't compete with Ultimates living/kitchen space, so it's the no perfect camper thing again.
Darryl I've had contact from ARB and looking forward to an EC arriving here in WA for a good look. Interested in your thoughts on three 2024 model upgrades. 1. Clean up the messy stove gas connection. On such a premium camper why is it necessary to remove the bottle? 2. Draft cover maybe magnetically attached to the exoskeleton. Saw a good example on the Stockman Rover. 3. Spare tyre mount on the draw bar. Get a lot of extra storage space. 4. Air suspension.
I'd think the Gas thing is a compliance issue, currently the camper probably wouldn't require any gas certification. The mounts they've put on the drawbar allow ARB to make a range of accessories, bike rack, storage box, maybe spare tyre carrier. It also keeps everything backwards compatible to keep current owners happy. I'm sure if it sells, they'll do further development.
I think the closest comparison to the earth camper would be the offline domino, similar backend, two option overnight mode and multiple night stay. Similar shape etc. from memory I also believe similar price point. My opinion is the domino is better, would be interested in your thoughts on comparison between the two? I love this style of camper.
I don't think any of these are bad campers at this price point, all are using quality components and its more personal opinion. Personally, I dislike the side slide out galleys with no hatch coverage, the added canvas of the Domino's roof along with the lack of internally accessible clothes storage.
Great clip buddy, thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m not sold on it though mate, looks waaaay too big and too heavy, it’s just cumbersome looking and I believe they’re made in Thailand so I’d be dubious to their long term durability. And so typical of anything with those 3 little letters stuck on the side, ridiculously waaaaay overpriced at $75,000 and up 😲😲😲 Great clip mate
It's a lot of cash, but hey people spend well over $200k on a 79 series. I feel it's a fairly big announcement and it gives buyers more choice in the off road, pod camper market thats always a good thing.
@@DarrylSheather oh 100% mate, the more choices the better for the consumer - I just think their asking price is probably $30,000 more than necessary. Cheers mate 👍
Patriots are nice campers, but I've also camped next to them when the weather isn't good. Bunkering down in a hard walled camper is so much nicer than anything with canvas.
I find it impressive that ARB have built their very first camper and its up there with the best of camper's hats off to ARB.
Nice mighty car mods Tshirt 🤘🏼
Outstanding review.

Great informative video mate 👏 thank you 👍
Amazing video thanks Darryl. Can you please do a comparison of ARB's Earth Camper and the Stockman Rover?
That’s a lot of $$$, building my own basic square drop.
Good review

EARTH CAMPER V OFFLINE DOMINO. Looks like a good fight.

Excellent overview video! I still like your design better :)
Glad you like it!

Air suspension? Stick with your jayco and the caravan parks 2 hours from home 👍

Zero space for a portable toilet - big mistake in my book
Where is it made
@Darryl Sheather
Few small campers match your level of engineering and finished product.
Thats far too kind sir.

Let’s hope you don’t drive a dual cab . would make you make you Thai bulild quality coment look a bit silly
Have you seen the price? My eyes still hurt unbelievable.
not cheap, must be a market though. Theres a few at that price.
Are there any dealers in the U.S.A.?
All these campers are are so expensive no matter what brand it is!
Was this a paid review? Unless I missed it I didn't see if it was or wasn't.
No it wasn’t
@@DarrylSheather thanks for the reply.
Should just get a Track Tvan instead of this wanna be.
Too much talk
I think it’s way better than the patriot campers

@@DarrylSheather that’s the main reason I think this would be better, for roughly the same price I would never get something that’s just canvas
If they are built in Thailand why is the top of the line one with $100,000 it seems to me way overpriced for being made in Thailand
