Drag Racing the Winter Beaters // Winter Beater Challenge

The boys took their winter beaters to the drag strip on New Years Day for Hangover Nationals 2019. The goal of the event was to run as close to a 20.19 ET as possible, without going under. Before bracket racing, each car ran two passes at "full speed" to get a baseline.
Audi 200 (Kevin) ET 15.82 @ 87.00 MPH
MB 300D (Rocky) ET 21.13 @ 61.59 MPH
BMW 540i (Will) ET 15.84 @ 93.00 MPH
BMW 740i (Zach) ET 17.74 @ 54.78 MPH
Porsche 944 (Mike) ET 16.94 @ 83.41 MPH
Bracket racing wasn't their forte, but Kevin and Will managed sneak into the 4th round of eliminations. The rest of the boys were handed a big L in their first round.
WHAT IS BRACKET RACING?
Bracket racing is a form of drag racing in which consistency and driving ability is key. In bracket racing, each competitor predicts an Elapsed Time (E.T.), aka Dial-In time for a given drag race (⅛ mile, ¼ mile, etc.) The goal is to get as close to your predicted E.T. WITHOUT going quicker than your prediction. This evens the playing field, as racers are attempting to come closer to their predicted E.T. than their opponent can come to theirs. This means that bracket racing largely boils down to reaction times, mechanical consistency, and overall driving ability; rather than who’s dumped the most money into their car. If you ‘Break Out’ (run quicker than your predicted E.T.) you are disqualified. If both racers break out, whichever racer ran closest to their dial-in time is the winner. In the event of a tie, the fastest reaction time takes the win.

Used to have a 730i with Full options, Electric Memory seats in Front, heatet seats front and back, m tech stearing Wheel and so on, and i loved it! I totally miss this car!
You’ve made some fine cars with low budgets. Best of all, you can have tons of fun with them without worrying about messing them up. Not just winter beaters, everyday beaters.

Huh I didn't know about bracket racing. I guess that's why there were so many trucks and SUVs there in the background, not great to get good times but probably equally fun to practice in

this mercedes isn't 300d if it is it would have 6 cylinder 3.0l diesel, this is obviously 250d 5 cylinder 2.5l turbocharged diesel
In the United States, all of them were 300Ds, some were 300D 2.5s.
