He knew Bach so well it's insane...I often wonder what would Bach say if he could have heard it.

I listen to Argerich, Schiff and others, but nobody dissects this piece as well as Glenn. Nobody paints the different voices this clear (2:56), they don't even come close.

I can't believe it's 30 years--seems like yesterday. Still love listening to GG's perfect playing.

    グールドの演奏は素晴らしい限りです。
    シングルシンガースの歌声も聞こえてきます。
    40年前、Waseda Guitar Club も挑戦しましたネ!
    ちょっと無謀でした。でも懐かしい想いです。

I mostly agree- he is perfect & his legacy will always live on, but I actually prefer Maxim Bernard's interpretation of this Partita! Check it out.

That's terrific, awful!! nobody won't never play this way at thiscentury ! It's a kind of old remembrance between harpsichord and the beginning of "piano-forte"!!

Both Schiff's and Argerich's interpretations are actually complete utter rubbish (IMO). Indeed, Gould played this partita wonderfully.
