Signal on the right: A Siemens base, a WCH gate mechanism with NEG Alstom-Aurora Style gate lights, 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20" lights with GE Pixelated Look LEDs, 1 pair of non-functional L&W gate lights, an Another Train Coming Blank-Out sign and a WCH electronic bell.
On December 18th, 2024, alongside filming various crossings on the BNSF Scenic Sub, I spent that afternoon filming all the current active crossings on the new Sound Transit Link Light Rail 2 Line. This one is the last one I filmed, with it being right after dark of course. It’s certainly a pretty neat setup to say nonetheless. The main road is protected by traffic signals, which is pretty ideal considering the majority of drivers will likely obey traffic signals more than railroad crossing signals. When it comes to the pedestrian crossings, things get rather interesting. The pedestrian crossing on the left side of the video uses a blank-out sign, with a Novax DS100 Speaker mimicking a GS Type 1 E-Bell, while the pedestrian crossing on the right side features a pair of modern WCH/Siemens crossing signals, with the L&W pedestrian lights non functional. Originally, the signals here (as well as most other signalized crossings along the 2 Line) had GS Type 3 E-Bells when installed, but were replaced with WCH E-Bells, likely due to noise complaints. Overall, quite the neat crossing.
