    That guys got grande cajones getting in the sea with those big seals but it payed off in the end, it never ceases to amaze me how intelligent other mammals are once you break the ice so to speak lol 😂

    To be fair, you’re kinda dressed like a larger penguin. I can see why a Lion Seal would attack you. Let’s be honest, the Seal is there to eat, while you’re there to take pictures and the problem is the Seal doesn’t know that.

      I don't understand why their diversuits are black, if they had hi-viz orange or green ones I'm pretty sure the big seals would then think I'm not eating that horrible looking penguin lol 😂

    Lol the penguins probably have nostalgia like "hey remember when it was just seagulls trying to kill us? And, you know, not an actual fucking sea monster? Good time-" and then he gets eaten by said sea monster, because shes trying to feed this weird bald ass seal with a camera.

    My most feared animal in the world is by far the leopard seal. I know I will likely never see one in my entire life but the idea of my last sight being a leopard seal smiling at me before it drags me 200ft underwater to completely devour me frightens me more than any other animal…

    plus she needed to breathe , and at same time watches you to see if you attack or flee . she sees you're no threat that way and also may have something she decides shade rather not test . your black suit and gear makes you look more strong to her ... I feel. and THANK YOU. I LOVE LEOPARD SEALS ... SCARY THO. I WOULDNT TRY THAT EVER ..

    August 6, 2003. The death of a British marine biologist in Antarctica last month is thought to be the first human fatality caused by a leopard seal (Hydrurga leptonyx). But scientists fear further seal attacks as the number of people working in the region continues to rise.

      It also completely goes against what we always associate seals to be: doe eyes, long whiskers, innocent, sweet faces, balancing things on their noses for fun, playful and cute!
      Leopard seals are the exact opposite in every possible way.

    My great great grandfather and his people were natives who used to trap and train leopard seals to dive for crabs and oysters

      @@kimmyrask7368 Some cultures wouldn't know either....we all have different names fr things. In NZ - and Scotland and other similar countries we grow a vegetable called "Swede" for putting in soups and stews or we eat it mashed with butter. It's an old fashioned vege now but us oldies know what it is and how to cook it. "Swede" is also a slang word for "head" - "watch your Swede!" Or "he banged his swede". LOL

    Very anthropomorphic and fairly demonizing with the narration's descriptions of natural behavior for an animal, but at least the camera shots of this beautiful seal are excellent.

    well, not very smart to dive with an apex predator, specially the ones that have solitary behave....
    it´s like to have a walk in the jungle with a tiger or a jaguar..of course they're going to be aggressive and eat you like those nugget penguins..

      They’re almost extinct…. Orcas would have helped keep the population in check, but since there aren’t many left, which has thrown everything out of balance

      Meany orcas acctally stay away from leopard seals to not risk petential injurys and insted target seals such as weddell and crabeater seals, crabeater seals beaing the most ubundent out of all seal spices numbering 15 million individuals thats basically half the world wide seals population! As there is a huge endless abundence of krill there making as much as 80% of there diet! Weddell and leopard seals have lower seal populations 800,000 and 350,000, no seals are truly over poppulated in antarctica just in some small arrias such as leopard seals going after fur seals.

    I don't know all I can see is there's way too many leopard seals at this point of time and it looks like it's unfortunately time to even out the seal herds in the most humane way possible. At this point being Penguins will go extinct and then very not far after that the leopard seals will go extinct

      lol what? both leopard seals and penguins this far into the antarctic are practically undisturbed by humans and are operating the same way they have done for thousands if not tens of thousands of years. if the leopard seals eat too many penguins, the number of seals will drop in response. classic predator-prey population relationship. no need to change it

    At this point it's almost like it's time to even the odds by removing a few of these leopard seals I don't see how the Penguins will be able to exist maybe and hopefully I'm wrong but it seems like we always screw something up by doing this I just don't see a predator of the seal and the seal has easy pray with the penguins and with this kind of Slaughter the penguins cannot last very long how this has been going on so long I don't know there must have been thousands hundreds of thousands more penguins

      Seals have been eating penguins for millions of years. It’s called nature. And the last thing nature needs is humans screwing up yet another ecosystem. There’s a reason why penguins give birth to so many young. It’s the same strategy as turtles. A few weak ones will get eaten. While the strong and successful ones live to mate again. Nature.

    youd think the penguins would make the trek te second a kill is made which gives them the precious seconds while the seal is killing and eating. not sure why he even needs a weight belt considering his massive balls must weigh 100lbs
