All of the "it depends" scenarios just emphasises how important it is to have a coach and if you cannot afford one then you better get good at knowing yourself and how to program. Group programming can be rough to follow when you become narrow minded into thinking you need to do everything thats written. Chances are you'll end up like me with a broken back.

Always really enjoy the different perspectives from the coaches.

In the “it” thing as well you could have every single thing they mentioned and there is still a good change you don’t make it to the games
that is true. it's a tough thing to do to make the games as an individual
I think the argument is if you don’t have the “it” you won’t make the games. I.e. it’s a prerequisite, but it absolutely does not guarantee anything
