The initiate paint-job is like Fallout4 i guess, they removed it before release for the simple reason; initiate does not get a power-armor. You need to be knight-rank for the power-armor (lorewise). Great video's!

On the West Coast and Chicago based BoS Power Armor is exclusive for Paladins, while Knights get BoS Combat Armor, which in comparison to regular combat armor would be on the level of marine armor.

With over 1000 hrs in Fallout 76, I'm finding that I must have been on cruise control grinding out XP instead of stopping to smell the roses to take in all the detail and lore. So, I love these videos that explore all the cool stuff packed into FO76. I'm looking at those PA skins and outfits Wickedy is showing off and thinking I need to run some more Tech Doc quests to get those, but then check my inventory and find that I already obtained several of them while I was madly grinding.

I really want to make that vid, but I'm debating on whether or not to make it yet, as I am missing a lot of the rare outfits myself. I believe that the best way to show a theory/method is to have proven it first. Sorry about the plans. I've hit up ash heap events another, oh, 60 times since the recent patch to see if the rate went up, and still no dice. There is a level 3 explosive crate in Arktos Pharma that I'm working on unlocking over and over again to see if it drops from there. I just wish I had more time! 😴

Any BoS info has my immediate attention heh. Now you just need to make a BoS camp video :) edit: maybe I missed it, I didn’t see the bos fatigues or bos lab coat. Appalachian antiques has them and the BoS hood, medical goggles and a flight helmet. You probably already know that sorry!
This is the first time I’ve even looked up BOS paints. I’ve earned just about all of those relatively quickly. Without even knowing their rarity. Less than 50times turned in got me just about all of them I think perhaps only missing the elder. While being told by friends they have done many times more than I have whilst only acquiring the first 2 paints. Perhaps RNG based not turn in 20 and you get your first paint then turn in 50 and you get your second. Thanks very informative 😁
Just as another add on when your in any silo to drop a nuke search all round drawers I have found up to three technical datas almost everytime...Grind them
My fav used to be the skeleton costume back when each one was worth about 60 or 70 caps. Would make a bunch of them and then max out my $ each day at the vendors.
You are correct, there is no value in turning in multiple at a time. And once you have a bunch in your inventory, you can’t really do anything with them.
Necro here as well, there is no bug. Not all tech data is flagged for turn in because you can grab tech data prior to being able to do the Forbidden Knowledge quest. Don't buy tech data from a player vendor unless it is cheap and they only have a few because chances are it's bogus.

I didn't even know there were more than 1 paint job but I'm OLD and slow, however, I have a PS4 after watching this vid I did a little farming and got the captain so I'd say it's not just a PC version.
Some of those paints are worth a lot, same for the jumpsuit. At the whitespring several technical data’s spawn in the communication room. Like i sold two paints for 7k caps in Total 👍
I think to get all the different paints you have to learn the bos knight paint, and then the next one and so on. I’ve only gotten night paints since I never bother learning them.

I have the elder paint. Turn them in one at a time. Do what the video says, only take technical data from the container, leave everything else. I think luck has an effect because as soon as I had a luck of over 10 i started getting all the paints pretty quickly. Id say I turned in roughly 300 in total since I turned in alot before I got higher luck, and I also only had bos knight paint for the longest time. It might be useful to farm technical data in a casual team
@@MAVM28 it does, tho not specifically. Improved luck gets you better quality loot and yes it does slightly improve your chances. Charisma also helps find tech data because it increases the amount of loot you can find in containers(and from quests and events, but that's not relevant here). My personal luck has been the problem tho. My friend and I who play together daily have the same luck and I have more charisma and he regularly gets 3-4x the tech data I do from the same containers. Yeah, we've tested it lol. Anyway, I picked up my Knight SGT and Knight CPT paint jobs in successive turn ins this week, so I'm finally making progress!
How could you even return more than one Technical Data? Whenever get multiple data on my way to the BOS camp and it always take just 1 data. I sell rest to vendors for 1 cap. Looks like you are missing the same paint I am. The BoS VI Sentinel paint. After paladin, but before elder. I have all the others. I was lucky enough to start this mission ages ago so I got the initiate paint. Been trying to get sentinel paint for months
The Bos VI Sentinels paint is in the data files but from all the digging I've done I believe it is also in the same boat as the initiate, where it is either disabled or bugged and not dropping. I haven't seen or heard of any player getting it. 😪
I am part of a ps4 fallout 76 auction site. I have seen a few individuals selling sentinel painted t60 armors on the site. My guess is that, like the initiate paint, the sentinel must have been disabled from dropping. I was just not lucky enough to get one before it was disabled. I am glad they reworked the elder paint. It looks so much better than before. I have pictures with the previous elder paint on my t60
@WickedyChickady trying to find every type of raider armor including heavy , i noticed that the picture of the armor means nothing you have try them all on ?
There are no visual differences in your inventory between the types, but if you need to be able to tell without trying on or buying yet, you can look at the armor resistance ratings to be able to tell which type. The paint jobs are nice through a little sad that they're in red since they're meant to be in white, unless your a part of the Brotherhood Outcasts which only came to be be from fallout 3.
There is a bug that will cause unusable technical data to stack up in your inventory. If you have a stack of data, it won't be able to be turned in. I had that issue with over 100 pieces, the number grows evey time you join a new server. I ended up dropping all my excess, and collected a fresh piece and it retriggered the quest for me. If you pick up more than one that is usable, in your inventory it should still show up as only one and not stack.
I thought server hopping exploit was fixed in early 2019, so if you've recorded all this in september 2019, you're either using another trick, or I've overlooked something. (On a side note: I'm one of those 100% fully hardcore legit players that likes to play on the hardest possible difficulty, usually I'm anti-exploiting, but in this game it seems it speeds up shit by fiftyfold. So, is it still even viable after the "Stealth Nerfs"?)
Hey there! So, this was not made with a server exploit. I made this video over a few days, just taking note of each location I went to that had a technical data in the container on the server I was on and did a rinse/repeat on the next server. When I have a video in mind, I set out to make it and not really focus on anything else. Like I said in the video, if I didn't see what I was looking for in the container, I didn't grab anything so that the loot changes on another server and I don't have to wait for the 20+ hour, 50+ containers constraints that the game has in place. Sometimes I'll do a run at other locations and loot a lot of containers elsewhere so that the original ones I want to loot from are repopulated earlier. I haven't done Technical Data runs in a while as I've already gotten everything I wanted, but went and tried it again today and everything was running smoothly. I hope this answered your question.
@@Wickedy All I wonder about is if Bethesda actually fixed server hopping. You make it seem like they did not. Which makes me think qbout possibly starting doing this too, as Brotherhood by blood, I won't rest until I got what I need.

Yup that is correct. You won't be given the next plan in the rank order until you have learned the previous one.

I turn in about 1 daily and usually get them during silo runs, lots of the correct type of containers in there

What happens if u keep turning in tech data after u get all the paints? Will they stop being rewards or will it give multiple elder paints

You should still be able to get the Elder paint plans after you learn it, you won't be getting the prior plans.

I had no idea those other paint jobs were in the game. I've turned in so many technical data and never got anything besides the first one.
The paint jobs are nice through a little sad that they're in red since they're meant to be in white, unless your a part of the Brotherhood Outcasts which only came to be be from fallout 3.
Is it possible to still get these? I've turned in about 30 technical data and still haven't got it :(

I have turned ot in like 20 times got I only got T60 plans first time.
How did you get the quest to repeat? I have about 15 right now, but the quest won't repeat.
There is a bug that will cause unusable technical data to stack up in your inventory. If you have a stack of data, it won't be able to be turned in. I had that issue with over 100 pieces, the number grows evey time you join a new server. I ended up dropping all my excess, and collected a fresh piece and it retriggered the quest for me. If you pick up more than one that is usable, in your inventory it should still show up as only one and not stack.

I have done Forbidden Knowledge over 50 times and have not got any of the rare rewards
I thought server hopping exploit was fixed in early 2019, so if you've recorded all this in september 2019, you're either using another trick, or I've overlooked something.
(On a side note: I'm one of those 100% fully hardcore legit players that likes to play on the hardest possible difficulty, usually I'm anti-exploiting, but in this game it seems it speeds up shit by fiftyfold. So, is it still even viable after the "Stealth Nerfs"?)
Hey there! So, this was not made with a server exploit. I made this video over a few days, just taking note of each location I went to that had a technical data in the container on the server I was on and did a rinse/repeat on the next server. When I have a video in mind, I set out to make it and not really focus on anything else. Like I said in the video, if I didn't see what I was looking for in the container, I didn't grab anything so that the loot changes on another server and I don't have to wait for the 20+ hour, 50+ containers constraints that the game has in place. Sometimes I'll do a run at other locations and loot a lot of containers elsewhere so that the original ones I want to loot from are repopulated earlier. I haven't done Technical Data runs in a while as I've already gotten everything I wanted, but went and tried it again today and everything was running smoothly. I hope this answered your question.
@@Wickedy All I wonder about is if Bethesda actually fixed server hopping. You make it seem like they did not. Which makes me think qbout possibly starting doing this too, as Brotherhood by blood, I won't rest until I got what I need.
