I’m SUPER EXCITED!!!!!! I’ve been commenting and asking for this since your first video. I can’t wait for this drop. Keep doing what you’re doing 💯💯💯💯🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾!
This whole story from beginning to end sooo sad if only his father showed more love i know he was an adult but some people never get over their abuse he had such a God gifted voice i dont know if he would of ever stoppedtaking coke especially after his mother died i wish he never came back to hollywood the CITY OF FALLEN DEVILS MISS HIM AFTER 40 YEARS
I'm pretty much a Marvin-phile as he's my favorite musical artist of all time. This was a well done video and pretty fair considering some of the darker aspects. I'd lust like to address a couple things: 1. The whole thing with Denise Gordy is definitely very icky especially in today's context but it seems like it was consensual all the way around. You don't do something like that without everyone being on board with it. Out of all the things Marvin did in his life that's probably the event that I have the most qualms about because it was in a period of his life where he had all his wits about him as his main vice at the time was weed and he wasn't super heavy into it at the time. 2. The funny thing about "If I should die tonight" is that Marvin definitely wasn't feeling it when it was first offered up to him. On the Let's Get It On 50th anniversary edition there's an earlier take on it which was sung pretty well but it didn't have the PASSION and the heart that Marvin's material usually has. It was meeting Jan that brought that passion. In fact, she was in the studio when he did the vocals for "Let's Get It On" and you can DEFINITELY hear the passion Marvin brought to that as he said it was love at first sight. He then went back to Ed Townsend and said "Ed, get that song out. I can sing that sonovabitch now!". 3. Yeah, Marvin and Jan were messed up beyond words. You live in the haze of drugs and manipulation and things are bound to go bad. It wasn't so terrible at first but as Marvin kept getting deeper into cocaine things spiralled out of control. He started doing the same kind of shit his father did to him with the manipulation and control. Reportedly he wasn't that way when he laid off the drugs/didn't take as much and Jan said in previous occasions that Marvin was a devoted and loving father. I'm a little surprised you didn't mention the whole abduction/kidnapping of Frankie by Marvin where he whisked him out of Hawaii and went off to London where Marvin was living in some pretty shabby conditions. Still, they did have a love for each other as Marvin spoke to Jan often while in Belgium and Midnight Love is in reference to their midnight/late night phone calls. 4. Just for the record here's the last part of Marvin's final words: “It’s good, I ran my race; there’s no more left in me." In the end the murder of Marvin by his father is probably best described as suicide by proxy. BTW one of the main reasons Marvin Sr. got off with probation was because they discovered a walnut sized tumor in his brain. Overall again, great video and you showed a couple pics i'd never seen before. In the end I think the best way to describe Marvin is as "the voice of an angel trapped in the body of a man". He was a genuinely good person but familial dysfunction, abuse, drugs and most likely some mental health issues (schizophrenia, manic depression) put Marvin into a world of hurt.
Thank you for the breakdown. It really helps me look at his situation through a different Lens. Also, the suicide by proxy is a great way to describe his death because it did seem like he was spiraling out by that point. Thank you for the view and the support.
@@Kmfbrowne You're welcome, admittedly I try to see Marvin in his best light though I recognize all the faults there. I will keep an eye out for more videos of yours. I just perused your channel and it seems you've got a bit of a potpourri thing going on :)
I can’t @ 6:34. Not a back alley surrogate situation. Anytime human beings wanna stop being dysfunctional, let us know. We aliens wanna root for y’all but y’all make it hard sometimes lol

😯😯😯 speak less always heard about this never knew the full story
She didn’t provoke Frankie Beverly. Marvin pimped her out to Beverly.
So did Marvin and Denise sleep together or was she strictly a surrogate
I'm pretty sure they just slept together
