Fucking A. Didn't even really think about that until your comment but it is absolutely true. I think that soundtrack element contributed to a certain fun atmosphere within the genre at the time.
Just finished watching Maniac Cop 2 and when I heard this song in the strip club scene I was like damn that song is a banger. Glad I found it, thanks for uploading!
This should have played it the credits, I always felt it was wasted in the stripclub scene. I love that cheesy Maniac Cop 2 rap, but this would have been a helluva way to end a surprisingly badass sequel.
Watched MC2 yesterday (for the millionth time..) and finally decided to look up this song. It's pure magic, can't get it out of my head. Thanks for posting this rare, priceless gem!
Can you imagine Cordell rapping his nightstick walking to Haddonfield to face The Boogeyman to stop him? That would be an insanely cool "Halloween" crossover.
Maniac Cop really need a remake while conserving the shadows hiding Cordell shape or face. Rewrite the story to explain more accurately how cordell was reanimated etc...
Great song. Originally written for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer film from the same year ("children of the night...what music they make."), but when they passed Lustig and Co. got it on the cheap. Glad they did.
That's a good piece of info! Regarding when looking up Buddy Miles back story on the making of this song, all I get is what he did and played with in his career, which to say is also impressive in itself
Had 'Maniac Cop 2' on Tubi tonight in the background, this tune popped up, I immediately did a Google search for 'Maniac Cop strip club music' and found the tune. So I'm a huge fan of '80s synths...but not so much' synthpop' as much 'rock music with synths in the background' . So good tunes to check out if you like songs like this: 'Sunglasses at Night' by Corey Hart 'Strike Zone' and 'Dangerous' by Loverboy 'Separate Ways' by Journey 'No Easy Way Out' by Robert Tepper
It's a pity the other track *"message from above"* was never released, cause it's definitely Buddy's vocals, but he's not credited on the track itself. Guess it was solely done for the movie 😞
@@jasonsgandurra7054 I’ve no idea. Sadly I think the only option would to be look for a way to contact the track producer, maybe by email and either offer to pay him to send you the track exclusively (if he even still has it to file) or request for it to be made available through movie music archives or something. I’m just guessing there, there might not even be a way to contact Him, even if there is, there’s no guarantee you’ll even get a reply. But if you offer monetary incentive, you might get lucky
Its incredible that a so old horror movie still not forgotten and people talk about and like it actually they are fans of Maniac Cop who is a negative character!
The perfect song to jog with Cordell in the woods... and what epic solo of Master drummer/guitarist/singer Miles. The same dark groovy tunes is following here : ruclips.net/video/xoNGVCZKxzk/видео.html
Love the song, the film's. Too bad a 4th one didn't happen consider how it ended. Sucks thy ended it where it seemed like another one was coming just for it to not
I'm looking for the title of the song at 57:00 in Maniac Cop 2: policemen are in a dance bar and they arrest a guy. There is a song and i don't find the title. Frustrating.
Does anyone know where I can find this song on physical media? vinyl, cassette, CD etc... I know its unreleased and its not on the Maniac Cop 2 official soundtrack. anywhere else I can find it? trying to find it in its highest quality possible. thanks
Man, this song is fucking fantastic but honestly, I think it was used in the wrong horror movie. This would have been a great song for like one of the Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday The 13th movies

It's in my top 5 greatest of all time for sure💯.
Never heard this until now
One of the greatest songs ive ever heard. Maniac cop 2 is legendary just on this basis alone.
That's a snapple fact😂 besides hearing in the movie but I give planetCHH his roses he definitely put light on this song

I might actually prefer your cover 😳
You can’t ban me here haha! Ask Brandon when y’all doing the Serbian Film watch along haha!
This is one of the many reason why the 80's are unique and irreplaceable.
An absolute powerhouse of a vocal performance. Sad this flew way under the radar.
This and The Darkest Side of The Night deserved better.
@@FookMi69 💯 Agree!!!!!
Classic. R.I.P. Mr. Z'dar. Gone but never forgotten Sir👊
Got a face' on' HIM....PLUMP' LIKE' A' BUTT'!!!

One of the best aor tunes I've ever heard - - long live the sound of the 80s !

This song is damn near impossible to find. That's a criminal shame right there. This should be listened and loved BY EVERYONE!!!
Indeed
I found it but do you know is Buddy Miles ? Bigger than this awesome FM Hollywood night hit...
Is this song available on any CD does anyone know can't find on the Maniac cop 2 soundtrack?
As long as I can find on RUclips I'm good 👍
That's it
Back then when horror movies had AMAZING MUSIC with AMAZING SINGERS. * sigh *

RIP Officer Matt Cordell. RIP Robert Z'dar 😔
I love this song.
I love this movie. Always felt it lacked a montage with this song to make it truly great
It doesn't need a montage, the stripper scene from the film does the song justice.
I always pictured this song being the end credit song. Still liked the stripper scene.
I love music of 80's. And also im Big fan of Maniac Cop
Loved this song and movie :) all the Maniac Cop films are awesome ❤
Now this is a righteous jam if I ever heard one

I wish this franchise got a sequel or a reboot

WOW..
*TAKE ALL MY F*CKING MONEY!!!*
Michael would get slaughtered by matt tho
Should be on Spotify :(
Certified 80s banger!
Wish this was the credits song, really cool. Wasn't a fan of the other two movies, but Maniac Cop 2 was awesome.
Agreed
Fabulous song! I really miss the 80s!
This song is bad ass cruising down the freeway at night watching out for 🧟♀️ and 👮♀️ 😅🤣
Maniac Cop really need a remake while conserving the shadows hiding Cordell shape or face. Rewrite the story to explain more accurately how cordell was reanimated etc...
Who could play Cordell in the new version?
Absolutely not.
This is a film series born from the 80s. It fit the 80s and it belongs in the 80s.
And I mean that with the highest of compliments.
Great Aor song. Robert Z'dar as maniac cop
Heard this while watching the movie the first last night awesome song
This is really good. I love it.
Classic movie and bad ass song- your mother dancing for me on my bday😂😂😂
song makes a brilliant double feature with 'Dio - Rock n Roll Children'
Love this funky beat 😎👌
