Hi Everyone! Please note my comment about the HOA is just a joke in case for some there is a misunderstanding. We are extremely supportive of our neighbors. Enjoy the video and thanks for watching! 😊😊😊🍁🍁🍁
You SERIOUSLY cracked me up good with the HOA!! Messing with the vibe and mood is dangerous on top of just NOT liking them!! 😂 literally I about became one of the GIF's of the girl spitting out drink everywhere!! I needed a good belly laugh!!! New to your channel! Keep up the great work!!
I love the way you promote sustainability. I used to babysit this little kid who had wealthy parents and one year, I asked the mother her fall decorating plans for the house and if she was gonna have something extra in the yard. She was so confused and said ‘Fall is a MOOD. You should spend more time and money living in it than just signalling it” She always kept things minimal and classy throughout the seasons, enough to conjure the “mood” (as she would say) but not too much that she was signalling to neighbours or passerbys. Interesting POV

You’ve really taught me to love my ancient, beautifully made furniture and to not worry about the Instagram posts. Clean and uncluttered go a LONG way. I’m not saying we shouldn’t update, but how the heck can people keep re-doing their kitchens and bathrooms and flooring, and faucets just to keep up with a trend?!
I agree! I have subscribed to several interior design videos and they all "push" products. Unless it's something that will make my life easier (cleaning, organizing, etc.) or is so beautiful I can't live without it (which is rare), I just ignore the product part and watch for the tips. I'm on the fence about bedding. How often do people really buy new bedding? I'm always dumbfounded because folks seem to buy new stuff all the time. GAH! That's too expensive for me. Especially if you want to make it look luxurious. You may be able to find the look for less, but not usually for free! HA!
I agree. I love antiques and vintage furniture. They were made far better than anything we produce today. I'm not sure they should be alone in the house. I'm all for putting new furniture with them. It makes the house a little more interesting. As far as the bedding goes, I buy new when I need it and not one second before. My bedroom has a very plain beige spread on it and at the foot of the bed, I put a folded 100 year old quilt that is in PERFECT condition and full of colors. I LOVE it!! It was made in the early 20s by his great aunt whom he never knew. I'm not necessarily ever going for the look of luxury. I'm going for a glimpse of a home that's warm and comfortable.
I have a friend whose daughter spilled an entire jar of glitter on the carpet in her room. I said how did you fix that??!! She said, we moved. 😂 I love every word in this video! ♥️
😅😂😂😂 so true. I purchased something with glitter for my daughter 2 years ago and a lot of it spilled in my car and until today when I vacuum the car I still see a little glitter here and there. I absolutely hate glitter with my whole life.
LOL, my house looks like Halloween threw up on it, totally embraced the tacky. I mean if you are going to go there you might as well go all in. Lights, 3' Peanuts charters built and painted by my husband, the exact pumpkin patch you highlighted (have to watch for the Great Pumpkin), lite up lanterns hanging from the tree, fire pit moved to the front yard Halloween night to stay warm while handing out candy. COMPLETELY tacky and over the top!
I don't blame you. People get the craziest for Halloween decorating. I am sure it would be a blast to see your home bc I never decorate for any season at all! 😬😵🥴
I think it depends on what season in your life you're in or the intent. If the intent to decorate is for your kids or the neighborhood kids, I think its darling. Not my style, but I love to see people put in the effort and have fun with it
I had a friend who had the most gorgeous slip covers for her furniture that changed for spring/summer and fall winter. I’ve never seen such beautifully made slip covers … you couldn’t even tell they were covers …they must have cost a fortune. Much better than changing furniture
I have light beige furniture. I change out throws, pillows, and etc seasonally because I don't want to look at the same living FOREVER. It's incredible how changing out a few items can make a whole room look so different.
Halloween is my favourite!! I don't love the blow up decorations but I do love and admire when houses put in a big effort to decorate the outside with fun and/or spooky things. In our city people make maps of the houses with big decorations so people can go see them. It's a fun and budget-friendly way to explore other neighborhoods while also avoiding the hordes of people that flock to pumpkin patches.
My thrifty Irish Mother used to take our little red wagon around the neighborhood the morning after Halloween, and pick up all the smashed pumpkins and make amazing pumpkin pies for our family of 9!! They were delicious!!
My mom was one of those concrete goose ladies, where we had the goose that sat on the porch and she dressed it up for every holiday - this is what I envision whenever people talk about decor that you can switch up every season 😅
Blow up's are the worst. I agree 200%. I love dried fall foliage wreaths ( the non-getting all over the place ones). I love pumpkins and fall colored throws. Throws are great in my opinion. You can change them with the seasons easily.
I couldn’t agree MORE about the blow-up “decorations” for the front yard! I was low-key mom shamed for not getting them when my son was little. I thought (and still think) they look like dead, boneless bodies lying in the front yard during the day! How did these atrocities become a thing?? 😖😣
Isn’t it weird that there seems to be so much low key mom shaming surrounding specifically consumerism? Like recently I heard about what goes on around Valentine’s Day, and how parents (ahem, moms) are expected to make all these valentines for kids with gifts and all that. It’s crazy! Why is buying stuff such a prerequisite for group activities nowadays? I’m glad you didn’t buckle under the pressure, girl!
I back up every Mom who gets shamed for not putting one of those monstrosities up. Nothing to be ashamed about, IMO. A LOT of yards have these eyesores around Halloween and Christmas, and during the day, it looks like bears have gotten into the garbage can and strewn the garbage everywhere (yes, I live where there are bears who do this.. it's not pretty)
I have 3 resin pumpkins that I put along our front stone wall. I also have 3 porcelain white pumpkins (small) that I put on the cabinet in the living room. I’ve also collected real pine cones that I put into the rustic bowl on the dining room table. Finally, I switch my candles in the DR to brown or rust. And there you go, fall... I reuse it all every year and love that I’m not buying more cra... I mean stuff.
I really love how you explain why things look cheap and tacky without offending anyone and their personal decor style…and then you share alternatives 😩 you’re literally the best!! Content King 👑
Thanks so much for the awesome comment Lorissa! Please take a moment to support the channel if you haven’t already, and join our very valued subscriber family. 😊😊😊
In our town folks drop off their leftover pumpkins at farms with pigs and leftover Christmas trees at farms with goats - and I love that for the pigs & goats! 🐖🐐 ❤
Fall is the perfect time to get an artisan piece you can re-use every year. Personally I have a few hand-blown glass pumpkins from my undergrad’s glass-blowing department fall fundraiser. It’s a great way to support a university art department while also elevating my space for fall. I have a coastal color scheme, so all my glass pumpkins are in cool shades so they give my apartment a fall vibe while still matching the overall aesthetic. My least favorite fall decor is anything that is a single-use plastic that people use for one fall then throw out. It’s not worth the inevitable damage it will do to the environment.
Hmmm xmas is coming. Maybe I’ll paint my living room red with one green accent wall…just until valentines day. Then i can paint that accent wall pink. THEN, paint the other three pink for easter. Ok I’m tired now.
Can I be so gauche as to ask why we even decorate the outside of our homes in the fall/holiday season? Do we decorate for spring or summer or winter? To me it's all become SOOOOOOO commercial and tacky....and yes, don't get me started about the blow-ups, skeletons, santas and elves or the twinkling reindeer on rooves! Once upon a time, we adjusted our interior decor to reflect the season. Just like Garrett said, pull out the throw blankets, bring in more throw pillows and light more candles on those darker nights. Cozy up! Then when summer comes remove the throw rugs and blankets and make everything look cool and serene. Do I like to see elegant, small white lights on trees in the winter? Yes, but I also love them on summer nights. I just want to REVOLT against REVOLTING tackiness and cheap OVER-DONENESS. Elegance in design is really easy: KEEP IT SIMPLE!
From watching other "Interior Design" channels, decorating for Spring and Summer is becoming a thing and I don't mean Easter decor and Fourth of July (in the USA). We're talking horrendous inflatable beach ball wreaths and arches and or fake Fruit and butterfly themed wreaths and garland type decor! And the Dollar Store DIY channels are huge offenders in making needless tacky crap!!
My personal tacky pet peeve is over decorating. Someone has a perfectly normal space and then, poof, September 1 comes around, and it feels like you’re walking into Pumpkin Spice Wonderland! Decor on every surface and wall, and it looks more like a Kirklands than an actual living space.
I don’t know if you’re videos are more humorous than educational or more educational than humorous, but I don’t care. Love them. Always and forever a fan!
I love the jewel tones so fall is my time to allow myself to lean more into them. For my kids they love the niche Halloween decor and I let them decorate their rooms with it but it stays in their rooms. The most I’ll do is add a blanket , the pillow cases, florals, light a fall candle, and decorate our little stoop. Christmas is my real time to decorate so I save my energy for then.
*Sustainable Natural Floral Arrangement* . I decided to go for a Ralph Lauren fall aesthetic. I foraged color appealing weeds and cattails. I created an amazing centerpiece for my dining room table. Two weeks later, the cattail exploded with fluff. Pro-Tip, spray with hairspray or a matte finishing product. It's not as invasive as glitter, but it goes everywhere. Bleach bath your pumpkins and gourds for longevity.
Although I agree totally with you , you gave me a huge laugh with your “Karen” moment when you said that you’d call the HOA on anyone having a blowup monstrosity. You kill me. Thanks for the giggles. You have me wanting to decorate for the autumn season right this minute. I love your videos. Thank you so much.
Le Chic you are an absolute savage! I just love your humor and aesthetic. Complete agreement on the "gather" and "harvest" signs. I don't love this for anyone. Keep being fabulous and doing what you do boo!
Hi Garrett, I was hoping you’d do an autumn style do & don’t video, and voila! Everything you mentioned is spot on; there’s nothing more depressing than seeing those blow up decorations deflated in the yard on a cloudy, windy fall day. Yes to the tastefully arranged flowers plants & pumpkins, and thank you for being ecologically conscious about composting. The only thing I might add are some lovely candles, so inviting as the days get shorter.
I definitely agree with you on not decorating substantially for every season! Maybe just a little bit of seasonal decorations here and there, in that specific season. Because I love the colors, and decor that I already have!
Why do I enjoy your channel so much? Because you’re teaching, kindly, with some humor. If people use tacky decor it’s okay for them. I now ask myself “is this elevated,” when decorating.
I grew up near a mountain that had glitter dirt. Seriously! My dad told me it was mica dust. To this day I still remember just staring at the dirt with glitter in it. As a child it fascinated me.
Growing up in Colorado and exploring in the mountains I would find small chunks of mica. I was always attracted to the glittery objects like mica, iron pyrite and bits of granite and quartz.
@Erin K I live in the southeast, in Tennessee, but I have always wanted to visit Colorado. I think it’s so gorgeous and it seems breathtaking, (lol literally) . I don’t really know anything about it besides Denver. Do you have any advice for someone who appreciates nature (through a window) but isn’t exactly outdoorsy that wants to visit? Lol, stay home?
I have a half life size nude terracotta statue (that I made), that lies across the top of my piano, that I dress as a witch, with a black dress, an orange chiffon cape, and a witch's hat, for the fall. I started doing this when my children started having friends come over to play. While my children have grown up with lots of art in our home, I was not ready to have other people's children going home to their parents, and asking why some of the decor in our house was "undressed." So I began changing Lady Godiva's outfit seasonally, and everyone seems to enjoy her wardrobe.
Glitter made from mica does come from the ground though . . . But yes, glitter is tacky for fall. (Non-glitter sources of shine and shimmer for Christmas is my jam though)
Glitter is forever! But I am a crafter and do enjoy it in resin and clay. Of course mica and a bunch of other fun sparkly things are crowded into my craft room. Thinking more about jewelry with glitter. And I love it for me. But not in a big decor item. Not too over the top.
Soooo, agree about the blowup! They look like dead bodies when not blown up! I love arrangements of dried flowers and leaves, cinnamon por pouri,, fall scented candles, mercury glass pumpkins.
Totally agree on glitter. It's essentially instant microplastic which is a particularly damaging form of pollution as it is so difficult to remove from the environment and harmful to animals that accidentally ingest it.
Thanks for reminding me that it's now fall! I have an orange bin with my fall decor and usually do the same thing every year. For Halloween I turn off the porch lights, put lanterns with candles on the porch and in the windows. I cover everything with spiderweb. At night I turn on the inside stained glass chandeliers and leave a big bowl of candy out for anyone who passes by.
I think a grand front entry with a very classy door swag and wreath is always a classic moment! Fall candles and plug ins of course we love the fall smell and a cute couch blanket that’s not tacky and matches your colors. My house is museum pop art modern so I decorated with fall minimalist with bold colors or white .. I use pieces that I ad a bit to it and I becomes Halloween decor, take away a bit after Halloween it becomes thanks giving style. Make it easy keep it simple and love that for us!!
Slip covers were the thing back in my grandparents day. Cotton or chenille over the sofa and chairs for spring & summer. . It kept the heavy upholstery fabrics clean of pollen and dust that blew through the open windows during the hot summers. It was more comfortable to sit on. Plus the fabrics lightened up the room.
I am a new subscriber and I’m loving going through your content and catching up! My personal dislikes are the Animatronic stuffies that sing a tune when sensing movement or touched. They interrupt the flow of conversation without offering any humor or levity except a polite, if forced, smile 😬 I love a wreath of culinary herbs. They offer scent when I break off a sprig for use, and when the wreath begins to look picked over, I can take apart the sprigs for place settings or tie them on gift favors in lieu of a bow.

Great video....I do agree on the blow ups, but I will own that when you see how much fun kids have around them for neighborhoods that go all in (mostly xmas tho), I have a hard time keeping it classy and counter balance their ugly with the kids' amazement and squeals. I do love how you bring in the natural , by mentioning that you're also supporting the people who are growing the items, and composting or allowing the final toss out to help animals eat. Great suggestions, and balance for a variety of styles.

@@GarrettLeChic I am baby! I actually subscribed the day before yesterday and I have been binge watching you ever since 🥰🥰🥰. I can honestly say that I am obsessed 😍
100% on everything you said. One thing maybe I would add to your "must have" list is candles. I prefer scented, but unscented is fine too. They provide such a warm, cozy atmosphere. Gotta have my candles
Thanks so much Mary! I understand as some of the fragrances can be nice, but my husband and I seem to be allergic to most of the fragrances regardless of cost.
Thanks so much! Glad you are enjoying the channel. Please take a moment if you haven’t already to support the channel, and join our very valued subscriber family.
I absolutely HATE the blow ups too!!! My neighbors put about 6 of them across their yard for both Halloween and Christmas, and they just lay in piles on the lawn throughout the day. So ugly.
♏ Scorpio here!! 🦂 I went to a Joanne fabrics for some crochet needles (for my husband's dreadlocks); and we about keeled over with all the kitchy Halloween/ Goth aesthetic decor. I just can't with how expensive AND cheaply made some stuff is! People can tell we're goth without a single bat or spider web on my clothes and jewelry; and they're going to know our home is goth without bats and spiders in our home decor. I make the exception for select Day of the Dead items, like skulls, because it's a traditional spiritual celebration of my deceased loved ones in my home. I take it seriously and with reverence. But that decor stays on the altar, not all over my house, and certainly no glitter.
I’m lucky to live in a part of Canada where I can walk outside and cut a few branches anytime I need a bit of fall foliage. And the one tacky design thing I can’t stand? The signs - providing direction no one needs, pretending to be art. Ugh!
I totally agree about the blow up “ornaments “ outside….smh. I knew an elderly woman who took her pumpkins to the zoo after Halloween.. I would think that may be a good way to recycle the pumpkins, after checking with zoo management. Great video…again…smile.
I suspect that most people do the blow ups and over the top deco for the children in the family. The only season I really decorate for is Christmas, and even that just by getting a really nice tree. We always have fresh flowers, but other than that I don’t have the patience to constantly change the decor, and don’t like clutter or waste. I love beautiful things, but decor for me needs to have a function as well. I’m a Scorpio too.
It seems that starting at Thanksgiving through Christmas, I am wearing glitter somewhere on my hands or face. Does glitter attack when you are walking through stores?
One thing I love in the fall is to see a hot cocoa bar in the dining room or in the kitchen. I love the big mugs and vintage or fun containers of ingredients for making warm drinks. A Tiered tray with small pumpins and fall decor is fun too.
Omg I literally stuttered when I saw lil Albert! 😍 Please put him in a Prince Charming outfit since he is already the cutest little prince! Also, I use natural elements for seasonal changes now. Stopped with the signs once my kiddos hit high school.
I agree with you concerning the glitter. I had a brief phase with it and realized that it went everywhere. Plus the issue with the microbeads is important too. Your advice always makes good sense.
I watch several YT'ers, they decorate for fall IN EVERY FREAKING ROOM. Fall leaves in the kitchen, living room, bathroom. They also make the front stoop so crowded you need to be careful getting to the door to knock on it. Me looking at that tower of multicolored pumpkins (I know it's going to topple over as I walk by) A little bit goes a long way and saves you $$$. I subscribed when I read your headline "Tacky"
There are some kids in my neighborhood that run around with a machete during the holidays and chop up people's yard blow ups. Everyone posts the videos on Ring and they're very upset. I, however, think it's an invaluable service 😂😂😂
Hahaha, I drive past one house where they always have blow-up decorations for every season, like 3 or 4 of them at a time. It is a very small house. They also display other kinds of decorations in the yard, and this whole thing looks like a perpetual yard sale. I generally don't like HOAs, but when I see that yard, I am glad our development has an HOA. And, Garrett, I totally agree with you on glitter, the tackiest stuff ever. You get a Christmas card with glitter and suddenly it's everywhere.
Loved the video as usual, and agree with EVERYTHING you said about inflatables on the lawn. I've seen so many and it really is tacky. Never had one before. I only joke about getting one and since I think they're awful, everyone knows I'm kidding. I do want to know, however, how you feel about pictures on the wall. I mean OLD actual photographs going back into the 1800's and all family? I've done it before and I'm thinking of doing it again. We just had our kitchen painted yellow and will have blue and white accents. I want to do another "rouges" gallery again, but I don't know if this would be considered tacky or not. I love a warm and personal home, and I think doing this adds some personality to my home. What do you think?
Thanks so much Mary! I'd have to see the space before I could give my opinion, and discuss your tastes and design plan further. We are planning on starting a virtual service later this year or early next year for individual interior decorating consultations on a limited schedule basis. I discussed this more in my 50K subscriber celebration video. I'll link it for you below. ruclips.net/video/8wQe-vk8pIQ/видео.html
we used to have a large inflatable snow globe when I worked at the public library we put in inside in the childrens area and it made the kids so excited.
My heart melts each and every time I see Albert! He is precious, I just love him to pieces! ❤️❤️❤️. For fall, I take out the faux fur throws, darker pillows, fall foliage and a pumpkin here and there. In my opinion, Pottery Barn has the best faux fur throws.
I'm a little eccentric, perhaps a little Goth, so I have a creepy interior year round. Not Halloween decorations per se but works of art and items that I love and use. Like Martini glasses with metal skeletons for the base. Skull decanters and ice buckets. I collect antique silver too and crystal. So my silver cocktail shakers and jiggers, and ice tongs all go well with the creepily elegant stems. I have a brain cookie jar that I use and gorgeous antique crystal balls in gorgeous stands. I also have a bronze skull on marble base that is a gorgeous work of art. The only "prop" that I have is a 7.5 foot tall Frankenstein Momster. I had a home based business and used to refer to him as my co-worker. He now resides in the corner of my creepily elegant (to me) guest bedroom with its antique bed, velvet comforter, and other beautiful pieces I've curated over the years. What must a home have for fall? Black and white CANDLES everywhere. Bowls of Hershy Kisses out for guests to enjoy. Mums. Moss. Feathers. Not a fan of plastic.
I have an empty corner on the counter in my kitchen I always get a small stack of pumpkins (usually 3 small ones) but because inside where I live I have never had a pumpkin go bad I make sure around Thanksgiving I cook them! It is a small touch that doesn’t feel wasted since I am able to fully enjoy them:)
Sounds great! Thanks for sharing Clara. Please take a moment to support the channel if you haven't already, and join our very valued subscriber family. :)
I never had them, but the kids love it!! I avoided it by driving my kids to the houses who had them and skirted the questions from my kids about why we didn’t have one.
Thank you for this. Couple of hours ago I was debating if I go with the ivory curtains or white curtains, thinking that the ivory ones (warmer) will lend themselves to seasonal decor better than the white ones. But they look yellow-ish against my light gray colors, though I really like the ivory ones. This video helps me realize that I don’t have to do the regular seasonal decor.
The “signs” section had me laughing out loud. You are hillarious. You need your own show. Keep these videos coming. Don’t give up! God always has a plan. And it may not be today for you but stick with it and it will come. You are so genuine and honest and your message is fresh and on point! Keep these coming. I love this for me!
Hello, Danine here, a new fan/subscriber. Adore all your tips. My must haves for the fall season is nature decor. Mega Pine cones, acorns and pumpkins are my favourites. What are your thoughts on painted pumpkins or drilled designs on pumpkins with lighting inside?
Hello Danine! We love pumpkins, and don’t paint or carve them. Painted pumpkins could be fun, but putting lighting in a carved pumpkin could create a possible safety hazard so that’s not a recommendation I would make. Ultimately, we personally just love pumpkins in their natural state best. Welcome to the channel. It’s great to have you as part of our very valued subscriber family!🎃🎃🎃
I hate those decorations that are blown up. I am a bit of a minimalist, especially when it comes to decorating. We usually buy a hay bale and plop a few pumpkins on it and a mum in front of it. Then a rug in front of my door saying Happy Halloween. Occasionally I'll hang a skeleton on my porch. Inside I'll have a few pumpkins.
I am a magpie and love glitter and shiny things..😭😭😭 I know it’s tacky but my inner 8 year old is so drawn to it lol.. It’s so true the glitter goes everywhere and is horror to clean..😵💫😵💫 I will do better 🫣
Scorpio subscriber here! You are so right Garrett, those blow-up plastic things are hideous, same goes for the "signs".. In the fall I usually pick up colorful leaves and put them in a bowl. They don't last very long but they are very pretty. I also buy small pumpkins at the grocery store and decorate with them. One lasted until a couple months ago! I think Prince Albert should be a little dinosaur for Halloween, he sure is cute. Thank you for another great video.
Thank You! You said what must be said. I am always stunned that someone actually buys seasonal home furnishings. Why would I add orange and black decorative pillows to my carefully curated accessories? Ok, I'll cut a couple branches from my yard and place them in a vintage rustic crock on the fireplace mantle or dining table. But I'm a grown woman and my home isn't a kindergarten classroom, so, no thank you orangegreenblackpurple tacky stuff. I love that you said you KNOW it's Autumn, you're wearing a sweater, lol.
I hate those blow up decorations…they are so ugly!! How on earth did they get popular. My neighbors have 6 or 7 of them for Christmas and during the day when they aren’t inflated, they fill the entire front yard looking like garbage.
I took up my kitchen floor a few weeks ago - it had a couple of layers of peel and stick tile on top of the original 1970s (now restored and proudly displayed don't judge me) pebble tile. The inside of the first layer of tile was FULL of glitter. Pretty sure someone was just so tired of trying to get it out of the grouting they just put another layer of peel and stick tile over it. It was awful.
Hi Everyone! Please note my comment about the HOA is just a joke in case for some there is a misunderstanding. We are extremely supportive of our neighbors. Enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

Me too. I'm guilty of the blow-up decor. My daughter loves it and we spend quality time putting up the Halloween decorations together.
Halloween is for children. If your kids and the neighborhood children like it, that’s all that matters.

That’s a great idea! I really love sewing, but I’d definitely need to make sure that they don’t look tacky
I have light beige furniture. I change out throws, pillows, and etc seasonally because I don't want to look at the same living FOREVER. It's incredible how changing out a few items can make a whole room look so different.
Thanks for sharing Luci! Great point.

Halloween is my favourite!! I don't love the blow up decorations but I do love and admire when houses put in a big effort to decorate the outside with fun and/or spooky things. Blow up's are the worst. I agree 200%. I love dried fall foliage wreaths ( the non-getting all over the place ones). I love pumpkins and fall colored throws. Throws are great in my opinion. You can change them with the seasons easily.
isn't 100% enough haha
Just a small sidenote: Chrysanthemums, while beautiful, are unusable for bees. Maybe opt for asters or other autumnal flowers that bees can enjoy :)
Bees are not the only pollenators
I couldn’t agree MORE about the blow-up “decorations” for the front yard! I was low-key mom shamed for not getting them when my son was little. I thought (and still think) they look like dead, boneless bodies lying in the front yard during the day! How did these atrocities become a thing?? 😖😣
Btw, I absolutely love your channel, content, and your fur babies so much!!
Thanks so much My Son’s Mom, and Linda!
😊😊😊
🤣🤣 so true
I never liked the word signs because I don’t like to be told what to do. 😂
🤣🤣🤣
I have 3 resin pumpkins that I put along our front stone wall. I also have 3 porcelain white pumpkins (small) that I put on the cabinet in the living room. I’ve also collected real pine cones that I put into the rustic bowl on the dining room table. Finally, I switch my candles in the DR to brown or rust. And there you go, fall... I reuse it all every year and love that I’m not buying more cra... I mean stuff.
I see Albert as an angel, with little wings.
🐶🐶🐶
Basically if it didn't come from nature and is not compostable or recyclable, or if it uses extra energy, please do not do it!
I really love how you explain why things look cheap and tacky without offending anyone and their personal decor style…and then you share alternatives 😩 you’re literally the best!! Content King 👑

Great idea! 🎃
I agree with most of what you're saying. I myself do decorate for every season. It helps with my depression. I absolutely loathe signs.
Hear! Hear!
Nope, if I want to over do things, I will. My house, my rules. You do things your way, and I'll do things my way!!!
The tacky little scarecrows stuck in a hay bale have got to go! There are so many natural options- flowers, gourds, pine cones, squashes, etc.
My personal tacky pet peeve is over decorating. Someone has a perfectly normal space and then, poof, September 1 comes around, and it feels like you’re walking into Pumpkin Spice Wonderland! Decor on every surface and wall, and it looks more like a Kirklands than an actual living space.
Glitter makes me scream being a Libra who hates a mess! LOL!😂
Fellow Libra in the House!! Omg our birthdays r coming
I don’t know if you’re videos are more humorous than educational or more educational than humorous, but I don’t care. Love them. Always and forever a fan!
😊😊😊
Bleaching the pumpkins will keep em looking nice longer but they won't be suitable for the animals anymore
Neighbors decorated one year with pumpkins and sheafs of corn. It looked really good. Then the squirrels found the corn . . .
Haha this happened to us too. They found the corn and then the pumpkin. Not quite so pretty after that 🙈
Although I agree totally with you , you gave me a huge laugh with your “Karen” moment when you said that you’d call the HOA on anyone having a blowup monstrosity.

Thanks so much, and thank you for watching Janice! Please take a moment to support the channel, and join our very valued subscriber family. :)
Why do I enjoy your channel so much? Because you’re teaching, kindly, with some humor. If people use tacky decor it’s okay for them. I now ask myself “is this elevated,” when decorating.
Aww thanks! It's great to have you as part of our subscriber family. I appreciate it.
I just hate glitter, too. People think I am crazy.
Your not crazy!✨✨✨
“…..the only place we gather is the car to get home…..”. 😂😂. Love my Albert!
Thanks for sharing Elizabeth! I enjoyed your comment. :)
I think everyone needs a beautiful fall wreath. For tacky, I totally agree on the blow up things for yards. Yuck!
You just crack me up…and I love that for me! ❤️
🤣🤣🤣
In the south fall weather doesn't come till December 🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
1st video and I had to subscribe as I love your honesty. (I did have a "Gather" sign). =)

They interrupt the flow of conversation without offering any humor or levity except a polite, if forced, smile 😬
I love a wreath of culinary herbs.

@@GarrettLeChic aww, bummer. Unscented are just as lovely, and even some realistic flameless candles can give that same cozy effect.

I just subscribed ❤ you are amazing and hilarious 😅 I just love!
Interesting...my husband had dreads, he had me retwist and rewrap them on occasion but that was it. How do you use the crochet hook?
I’m lucky to live in a part of Canada where I can walk outside and cut a few branches anytime I need a bit of fall foliage. And the one tacky design thing I can’t stand? The signs - providing direction no one needs, pretending to be art. Ugh!
I once bought this gorgeous wrapping paper that had glitter on it. Oh boy was that a mess. Never again. Never, never, never.
I totally agree about the blow up “ornaments “ outside….smh. I knew an elderly woman who took her pumpkins to the zoo after Halloween..
I would think that may be a good way to recycle the pumpkins, after checking with zoo management. Great video…again…smile.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed.

Glitter! It’s never allowed in this house!
Man, oh man, oh man! Preach it, Garrett! I love it for you that this is a reality check video! Preach on, brother.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dragon. Always be a dragon.
One thing I love in the fall is to see a hot cocoa bar in the dining room or in the kitchen. I love the big mugs and vintage or fun containers of ingredients for making warm drinks. A Tiered tray with small pumpins and fall decor is fun too.
They make so many cute kinds of marshmallows now. Can't you just see a few glass jars with different styles of marshmallows at the cocoa bar?
I like a mummy costume for Albert. What a sweet unicorn he is!
Omg I literally stuttered when I saw lil Albert! 😍 Please put him in a Prince Charming outfit since he is already the cutest little prince! Also, I use natural elements for seasonal changes now. Stopped with the signs once my kiddos hit high school.
🐶🐶🐶✨✨✨
I agree with you concerning the glitter. I had a brief phase with it and realized that it went everywhere. Plus the issue with the microbeads is important too. Your advice always makes good sense.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video!✨✨✨
I watch several YT'ers, they decorate for fall IN EVERY FREAKING ROOM. Fall leaves in the kitchen, living room, bathroom. They also make the front stoop so crowded you need to be careful getting to the door to knock on it. Me looking at that tower of multicolored pumpkins (I know it's going to topple over as I walk by) A little bit goes a long way and saves you $$$. I subscribed when I read your headline "Tacky"
Thanks so much for sharing! Welcome to the channel. It’s great to have you as part of our very valued subscriber family. 😊😊😊
@@GarrettLeChic Thanks and good luck with your endeavor!!
we used to have a large inflatable snow globe when I worked at the public library we put in inside in the childrens area and it made the kids so excited.
🐶🐶🐶✨✨✨

Loved your honesty and humor. I was laughing all through out! Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh, Garrett! First reaction: you make me laugh! Thank you for NOT saying "DECK-ore!" Keeping it real, my man!

Hi! I think everyone needs a candle with a good fall scent. Albert should be the little angel that we love 🤗
Baskets and gourds. Leaves acorns. Indian corn. Two huge bunches of dried corn stalks on either side of your front door.
6:01 Sister Bay!! Door County (WI) represent! Oh, and I like the idea of making Albert a vampire dog for Halloween! 🦇
I also vote for Alpire
I hate those blow up decorations…they are so ugly!! How on earth did they get popular. My neighbors have 6 or 7 of them for Christmas and during the day when they aren’t inflated, they fill the entire front yard looking like garbage.
I know you have mentioned it before but how old is you puppy? Vampire would be great! Hydrangeas dried are beautiful and can be done fresh every year.
Albert is over 17 years old, and doing great!
😩😩😩
