I'm thinking of vendoring at some conventions/markets, but I only see the good rather than bad news. The video was informative to me despite its ranking your experience. I hope you get to join another Las Vegas convention though and get a better experience from our cons!! :>
thank you for sharing!! It’s tough as someone who is in the Midwest because we don’t have many big anime cons other than Youmacon (my best con) and Acen (still have to try it!). So it’s definitely a lot of traveling and risk! ❤ I did 10 events since June of this year and I can say I’m here with you on all the feelings that come with good and bad events! Regardless, it’s all experience and we are putting ourselves out there so overall worth it!! ❤❤ You’re amazing and such an inspiration!! Good luck!!!✨
I was just thinking of making one of these videos too! I think it’s a great way to recap the whole year and easily look back on it in the future! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Glad all your cons went good for you for 2023!😊
As a SoCal resident I am very surprised at the amount of different events there are here. Thank you for your hard work and all the insight you provided because it is beneficial. Hopefully, I can make it to one of these events next year and I will definitely stop by your shop to buy more stuff!
Thank you for this. I usually vend at Designer Con (Art/Designer toys mostly). The show was originally in Pasadena ( which both artists and attendees loved!), but moved to Anaheim a few years ago. They just announced that they are once again moving. This time to the World Market Center in Las Vegas. The comment section on that announcement was not a happy one and it consisted of artists and long time attendees alike declaring the 2023 show in Anaheim would be their last. I was on the fence about whether or not to give the 2024 show a shot, but was leaning towards a no, because 95% of the time I travel/vend alone. I don't really feel comfortable walking around that area by myself. So hearing that another con that was using that venue for the 1st time was a bust, firmly pushed me to the no side😅. So THANK YOU for that😊.
I'm so glad I found your channel! I only do about 2 cons a year, looking to do more eventually (I have a full time job so it's not always easy to get the time off). But your channel has a lot of good insight, and it inspires me to get my butt in gear a little 😂 I also vended at ACEN last year and the year before...fingers crossed we can both get in again this year! It's definitely one of my favorites. If you feel like looking into another con in July, Tekko in Pittsburgh PA is a staple of mine. I've been going every year for....gosh at least 6 or 7 years. My family lives nearby though so that cuts down on my cost, but it's still a con we always do very well at. The issue is that applications sell out fast (like within half an hour) and it is juried. But something to consider if you're open to it! Anyway, again, love your channel. Hope to run into you at a con in the future!
I already knew what you'd say about Anime LV but it would've been nice to see you here again 😂 I made a new vendor friend at a tiny event a couple weeks ago and she asked me "Do you watch Mualcaina on RUclips?" And I showed her the clip where you featured me in your vlog and she freaked out! Haha
Thank you so much for your insight, I started this year (starting ALA), and it's been pretty refreshing to hear the ups and downs from all types of vendors throughout the year, but hearing the level of detail that you provide it's on point!
This was so insightfull, thanks so much for the breakdowns. I thought all Cali cons we big hitters since you guys have more variety than the south east of the US
@@Mualcaina ahh I see , thanks for the insight, also would love if you could make a video on your first year experience being a full time artist, I've been following since your old channel
Thank you for all the information. New subscriber and I’ve been progressively going thru ur videos. Ur table runner seems to be 2 ft wide and how deep is it? Also wat is the size of ur overhead banner when ur table is 6 feet long. Also any recommendations for where to get them made. Also may i ask where u bought ur wire grid cubbies and wat brand are they? Tia! ❤
I appreciate this video. Anime Boston is similar to the one in Chicago where you can’t have stickers, but those are my best sellers so I’ve been worried about ever selling there! I saw some artists who had images of their stickers and you could order them through their shop if you wanted to.
I've heard good things about Anime Boston! Stickers are pretty popular for me as well, but you'd be surprised by how it encourages attendees to purchase other things from your booth since you don't have them
@@Mualcaina yes anime Boston is a lot of fun, overwhelming, but a lot of fun. I’d like to start at smaller cons first, but that and the nyc cons are the bigger ones that are most local to me.
When applying for conventions, do they walk you through getting a permit (or any other needed documentation) for conventions? Or is that something the vendors would have to do themselves? What other documentation would you recommend having on hand and prepared?
The con will usually let you know how to obtain the permit, and each state has different rules. For example, you pay sales tax immediately after the con in Nevada and in CA you file for a permit before the con via CDTFA, etc
will you be doing 2024 version of reviewing artist alley displays? i wasnt lucky enough to go to many cons this year and only one artist alley (money issues) and I would love some opinion on the setup i have prepared for 2024 ;-;

It's definitely worth seeing which events work for you, since some that work for me, may not work for others and vice versa!

Omg HAHA I might wait until it gets better for those non-local like me, but it might not be for a couple more years 😅
@@Mualcaina I'll just let you know how it goes then cause my brother applied for it as his first event lol

Glad you found it insightful! It seems there are so many CA cons that it's become oversaturated and splits a lot of attendees
